Amazing service! We had McCullough out to do an energy audit in August, and we were lucky we did. Alex Stevens came out and reviewed our current system (old) and said we were lucky it had lasted this long (inherited from previous owner and it may have been 14 years old or older). Rather than push a sale on us, he said we could wait and see until it went out rather than replacing it right away, hoping it might last another year or two. We decided to wait. Then, late Friday of Labor Day weekend it went out! I called Alex and he was able to get a crew of guys out to our house with a whole new ac system on Tuesday after Labor Day. Amazing turn around considering it usually takes longer than that to order the equipment. We were back to comfort that same day. They later came back to make sure our house was air tight to meet the energy audit requirements which really improved the seal on our whole house. Really grateful for their excellent service and quality work!

In the late Spring I contracted McCullough HVAC to install a new unit in our upstairs. The entire process was exceptional, seamless and we were totally pleased with the the new unit. Recently encountered a thermostat issue and I called McCullough for assistance. They promptly schedule a service call. Herman arrived on time, preceded by a phone call to confirm his arrival. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained it to me with clarity and went about the process of resolving it. We accepted an offer for our house yesterday evening. We found out that the buyer’s inspector will perform the house inspection tomorrow! I called McCullough this morning to ask how to change the filter in our new A/C System (very dusty after some pre-sale construction). Lakia put me on hold for a minute or two, returning to say that she had squeezed us into their schedule and would send a tech over TODAY to do a complete pre-Winter service - and install the new filter!Can anyone beat that for same day service! We will impress upon the new owners that they need not look further for an A/C service provider. I am very grateful for a tip top (and not simple) installation in March this year and for the first class service provided by Mitchell at McCullough today.

Mitchell (service person) was great! Helped quickly, friendly, informative and educational and he called in advance. The front desk/scheduling folks were not as great with customer care. McCullough has not yet figured out how to narrow service call times down from 9 hours like any other service/repair company until the day of if you call and ask. I was told by the front desk my account would be noted with a morning visit request twice, yet was actually scheduled for 12-5 that day and it sounded like the first time I called to check, that note was not there and re-entered.

Called around noon to see if they could check the newly installed ac’s functionality. It wasn’t cooling as expected. They had someone out by 4:30 the same day, who quickly diagnosed a dirty filter due to remodeling construction and replaced the filter for a very reasonable price. I am a very happy customer!

Wonderful experience. Met first with Alex review problems with faulty A/C. Got a clear picture of the problems, then discussed pros and cons of repair or replacement with the Carrier units. We replaced with the Carrier and could not be happier. The installation process was smooth and efficient to say the least—-especially since some unforeseen issues arose with old ducting in some locations in the attic. Mike and Cody were the install team and went way beyond expectations. They worked their butts off in some really challenging conditions in the attic spaces. The Carrier units are quiet and efficient—don’t need to look elsewhere in my opinion==and I did a ton of research prior to calling McCullough, too. Best of all, Mike and Cody took the time to answer the questions posed by my wife and. We got clear, concise explanations which filled in areas that we hadn’t researched or were confused by our research. Use McCullough—you will be glad you did!!

Our AC failed and we decided we wanted to replace both the indoor and outdoor units. However, our indoor unit is in a very hard to access attic. One company refused to bid on it. The McCullough team disassembled the unit and reinstalled it in the space, piece by piece.This system is so much better than our old system. We would go through freeze/sweat cycles because the old unit would blow so strongly. The new one blows almost continuously on hot days, but its much gentler and keeps the temperature very stable.The outdoor unit is also amazingly quiet. Its hard to hear a few feet away when its running.We are very pleased with McCullough.

We called them because our upstairs unit stopped working. Before they came I was able to find the problem and solved it (it was a clogged water drain) but I maintained the appointment to have a general check of the system in case there were other problem.The technician was very knowledgeable and easy to work with.The reason I am rating the service as 3 is the value of the inspection vs the cost. I though it was expensive considering it was a report and no actual repair was done. The cost of inspecting 2 units is also doble which I dont understand being only 1 visit.

Both of our units stopped blowing cool/cold air last week unexpectedly (in Texas there is never a good time of year for this to happen!) so we called McCullough. We were beyond grateful that they were able to have technician out that same afternoon. Herman, our technician, was wonderful! My heating and AC system went out right as the February ice storm hit. The McCullough rep came out immediately as the storm was blowing in. He thoroughly went through my options and immediately ordered my chosen unit. Unfortunately, there was no way it could be installed until a week or so later due to weather conditions. After the installation, the Quality Control Manager came out to inspect and found a couple of tweaks that needed to be made, which were taken care of immediately. My new unit works like a dream. The whole process was so easy and hassle free.

Mitchell is very professional and easy to work with. He answered any questions I might have had and offered additional services/recommendations as necessary. Mitchell was upfront with additional pricing beyond the maintenance cost, but due to a misunderstanding on my part I interpreted the price as total price and not additional. McCulloch Heating and Air along with Mitchell was able to work with me on this discrepancy; which I appreciated very much.Despite the service window being 8 AM to 5 PM I did appreciate the 30 minute call out before arriving. This gave me time to make sure I was home and ready for the service.I will recommend McCullough to others for their Heating and AC needs.

Very happy with the work that McCullough did on the house ( new ac unit, new ducting, sealing, home performance). My only reason for knocking off one star was that I felt that the there was definitely room to improve when communicating issues from from the initial inspection, what a service is, to the new purchase of the system, to installers, and inspection. I had to make my own list and ensure that those things were covered.

We had a new AC/heating unit installed along with additional attic insulation and a comprehensive air infiltration treatment. The team from McCullough was hardworking and personable and answered our questions -- though some work remains to be performed during the quality control process for which weve been given a date two weeks from now. We are currently waiting on a new intake grill, replacement of two vent covers of an unusual size that were damaged and bent during installation, installation of a vent cover which was left but not installed, sealing air leaks under our sinks, and repair of a thirty inch crack in our ceiling after one of the installers lost his balance and landed on the sheetrock. So far the AC unit works very well and we are pleased with the process and hope that the remaining work will be completed during quality control or sometime soon. --Dennis Dillon

So Mitchel was friendly and respectful but charge me for AC tune up $69 which is was good price. Then He charged me $282 to replace a capacitor on the outside unit, which took him maybe 10 minutes to do and did not even give me credit for the tune up toward the AC repair. It customer friendly to me. I will not use McCullough again.

Great experience from a professional team, from sales to install and everywhere in between a simple and seamless process to select, purchase and install a new system. Their prices were comparable if not better than the other companies I reviewed and I believe my Carrier system is a better product than the other offers I received. I also appreciated the care and attention to make sure all of the aspects of our system were considered and corrected where necessary and I wasn’t nickel and dimed like I had been with other providers. RUN AWAY!I had a great experience in 2014 and decided to trust them again when I moved back to Austin now.Just spent a good amount of money with them, but the main problem is not solved. My home can only reach 67F by 5AM.The Condenser is brand new, so I imagine the airhandler was the issue, so I asked McCullough for help to solve the problem.Since they are the specialist, my expectation was to do a full analysis of the problem, however, they took the easiest path and just replaced the unit.After I realized the problem was not solved, I called them several times to come back, here their conclusion.1. Ductwork is badly designed and might have leakage.2. Charge more $450 to do a J Manual Calculation, to them sell me a new unit if needed.3. Austin is too hot, and the unit is performing well.However.1. Leakage test was done and later I found out a big opening closer to the airhandler installed by them. They came to fix it, but they still use the leakage as an excuse.2. Other companies who want to sell the equipment are ready to do the calculation without extra charge. It seems McCullough is taking every opportunity to profit.3. The installation was a mess, the McCullough Installer Mgr. took a lot of trash left by the installer when he came to inspect the equipment.4. How we can have airports and malls in Texas with freezing temperatures during the summer?5. They tried to blame me saying that I pointed to the problem when I called them. (I am sorry, but I am not an HVAC specialist)It has passed 2 weeks since the last visit from the installation mgr and no report or suggestion of fix was provided yet.Paying more doesnt mean quality delivery or customer satisfaction.I give up to work with them.I hope this post helps other people. Good look to everyone else.UPDATE**About McCullough response for this post.1. They only offered one solution, which was replacing the air handle.2. They never indicated or offered a solution for the condenser mentioned on Mc. response.3. After the installation mgr visit, they never provided a solution. Using my ongoing remodeling as excuse is terrible because I was willing to do it now since I have a contractor that could fix the drywall. The person told me would need to talk to the service mgr before making any recommendation and that feedback call never happened.They were probably expecting that I would forget about the problem since the weather has changed.Honestly, replying to a review without giving a call to the customer first is very unprofessional.Friendly advise, hear your customers, admit when you fail and learn from your mistakes.

I cant say enough good things about the service. Joel Galvan was my service tech and he diagnosed the issue with my A/C right away (blower motor and board issues on an 11 year old system). He also discovered a couple wiring issues with the system and repaired them. In addition, he checked the compressor and made sure it was functioning properly as well. He was clear about the issues with my A/C and explained the costs to repair it. He also applied several discounts that I qualified for which helped out in the end. He was prompt, friendly and efficient with his time. I am definitely choosing McCullough again for my future needs.

MuCullough Team was excellent. I called them on Sunday as my AC was not getting cold. They called back within an hour and the technician ran me through a number of questions and items to check. After going through that process, he agreed that we needed a technician to come out. He was up front of the cost to come out and visit. I told him it could wait till tomorrow. Monday morning their team called me up and put me on the list for that day. They had a text message setup with me for easy communication with McCullough. The Technician came over and checked my system he determined a switch needed replacement. He replaced it and even validated that the part was covered under warranty. He got my AC back producing cold air inside.Overall a great experience with McCullough and will use them again.

McCullough installed our state of the art AC/heating unit in 2018. This unit has received yearly maintenance, except for 2020, due to COVID. This computerized system, provides readouts on the thermostat; alerts for replacing filters, routine maintenance due, and any system failure. It shuts down when any inconsistency in performance is detected preventing damage to major parts. There have been two instances of system failure, both under warranty. In each instance, McCullough answered our emergency call to restore AC in a timely manner. Yesterday, I was both relieved and impressed to receive text updates on their technicians arrival time. Herman quickly discovered the problem and restored the AC to running within an hour. McCullough has been consistently professional in scheduling, communication, and charges for maintenance. I am glad we used the same company to instal and maintain our AC/heating system. I highly recommend McCullough for installation and maintenance of a new AC system.

The problem was a mostly clogged AC condensate drain line. There was a trickle of water outside which fooled me but not the tech, Mitchell. He immediately diagnosed the problem. The drain water was backing up and tripping a sensor that caused the AC to turn off. It took less than 30 minutes to resolve the issue and start cooling the house down from 82 degrees!!! Thanks for the great service.

My Lennox a/c system started leaking after 11 years. Fixing it would have cost $2,500. So, I looked into options for a new one. After researching various brands, I decided to get a new Carrier system. I requested quotes from various dealers in Austin. McCullough Heating & Air was the most responsive showed the greatest interest in gaining the business.I told their sales manager Derek - he goes by Bull - which features are most important to me and he explained all options and recommended the Carrier Infinity system. It is the top-of-the-line Carrier system, the most energy-efficient, it removes the humidity - which was especially important to me - and comes with a 10 years parts and labor warranty. The Carrier Infinity system is highly rated in online reviews.So far, the system has reduced my overall electricity bills by about 15%. The indoor comfort is greatly improved over the old Lennox system because the Carrier Infinity system very effectively removes the humidity and is extremely quiet. It features fully variable speeds with what Carrier calls Greenspeed Intelligence.While the Infinity system is more expensive than traditional single-stage models, Derek gave me a very good price that made choosing the Infinity system a no-brainer and a smart investment in indoor comfort in the Austin summer heat. The technician was very careful to maintain contactless service (at my request) and kept me fully informed of each step of the repair by phone.I was able to submit my credit card information for payment directly to the office so no signature or contact with the technician was required. The very friendly and professional office staff gave me full disclosure of charges and timeline necessary to complete my repair. I got my diagnosis and repair completed the same day I first called in requesting it. The office immediately emailed my itemized receipt within minutes of completion of my repair. As of today have not received any paperwork at all for being charged $200 per lb for 3 lbs of refrigerant for a unit where there was no leak detected. I do see you are quite masterful at answering bad reviews. Ive been in business 47 years in Austin and Houston and if I ever thought of treating my clients like I was treated this weekend I would run myself out of business for poor performance and taking advantage of the heat in Texas and a single mom . The service tech was personable ...but being charged $200 per pound for refrigerant with a min of 3 lbs is robbery. Raising their price by $20 to inspect an air handler just as Texas heats up isalso usury imo $689 to inject some refrigerant without establishing that there was a leak is against industry standards as well.

It takes a lot for me to post a bad review but this makes me so mad what they did. I used to work for an ac company so I know the procedure. My system is a little low on freon (410a) when you charge a system you have to weigh the bottle afterwards to know exactly how much freon was added. When I called and asked how much they charge per pound i was told we would have to send a tech to come look and tell you how much youd need and how much it would cost. I asked if she was reading a script and she said no no script thats how its done to know how much youll need. This is a bold face lie. We are so happy to get our 20 year old system replaced by McCullough. Several companies gave us estimates and their estimate was the best and had a choice of options. They were able to schedule us quickly and the 2 men who came to do the installation were on time, polite and cleaned up thoroughly when finished. The outside Carrier unit is so quiet and we love the Alexa enabled thermostat. Im so glad we chose McCullough!

German did a very good job of inspecting our air conditioner which had experienced a leak of Pruon and had set off a water monitor alarm in the overflow tray. Another ac service company had concluded that the overflow pipe was functioning and that low Pruon had caused our older ac to freeze and then condense water into the overflow tray.That company concluded there was a leak in our system but did not run a leak test. It advised us to replace the ac system due to its age -13 years for the evaporator and 20 years fore condenser and furnace. German for McCullough confirmed that our unit was low on Pruon and inspected the system for leaks and found a leak in the evaporator coil. He laid out the cost of repair and advised me on whether replacement of the evaporator made sense given its age. As McCullough was providing this device as a second opinion, it did not charge us a service call, and because German found our evaporator to be very easy to check for leaks, he waived the usual leak check charge. He explained everything very clearly and I appreciated the waiver if the leak check. A very good service at an excellent price: zero. Can’t beat that!

I called many AC companies but most companies were too busy during July 4th holiday except Fox and McCullouh AC had technicians can come and check. Fox technicien said he charges $99 for road trip and $1800 for diagnostic issue and $2500 for other fee if I agree? The McCullouh AC came repaired the problem only charges $89 total that I will join their maintenance program for all my properties. It is absolutely worthy of the investment. It is not easy to find honesty and very knowledgeable good AC technicians. I am very grateful for their amazing services!

These guys are really on their game!Derek was super helpful setting everything up throughAE with the rebates/loan and cut me a great deal on a new AC/furnace.He made some great improvements to the existing ductwork and explained how it would make everything run more efficiently.The crew was the best, quick and thorough and worked great together.They clearly take pride in their work.Cant wait to save some money this summer.Highly recommend!

Pleasant and easy to work with. Originally scheduled for HVAC maintenance, but in time before appointment was made and day of appointment the unit stopped circulating air. Tech checked and said it needed a new blower. He had it sent overnight and had it replaced the next day. However when he tried to run the unit the compressor wouldnt stay on. He said it kept overheating. Evidently we need a new HVAC unit.Guess the maintenance went well. the form showing the readings he got is Greek to me.Not sure how to rate star-wise. My previous experience with them was excellent. Wouldnt really want to rate until this whole job is completed.
