Had issues starting my truck and thought it might be the battery. I didn’t have an appointment but figured I would try my luck. Within 2 minutes of showing up someone approached me to ask how they could help. They offer free battery testing and verified it was a bad battery. They had the replacement on site and had a tech out within another 5 minutes replacing my battery. Overall extremely friendly, helpful, and great service. I will be back!

I had over heating engine and they quote me at $1000, I went to other auto service and get quotes under $300.Problem got fix after 40 minutes of labor and car work perfectly.

They diagnosed the issue with my car but unfortunately I needed to get it towed to the dealership for a specific part. The employees here were communicative and patient while I figured out what to do.

Ive been coming here for little over than two years I bring my jeep and my Kia to get the oil change never had a problem they have a good speed cool little outside patio to get some fresh air from this fast pace life they just has a cool vibe if any of my vehicles ever have a problem this will the place I will come thanks guys keep up the good service

I arrived around 9:45 on a Monday morning. I had a small issue that hopefully wouldnt take too long to repair. I was greeted and asked what they could help me with today. I told them what my issue was, and the guy I spoke with took a quick look. He went to go get a second guy who is more knowledgeable about this type of issue. They worked together as a team to get the repair done, and me on my way. Very professional and very courteous. I highly recommend this auto body shop anytime you need work done on your car!

In summary, this was the easiest experience I have ever had at an auto anything. I did an inspection.

The worker name Jesse White here is very cruel and disrespectful he has no quality in work ethic. they can barely do a good wax on my car. Gave me bad Tires! On my back right One still had a nail in it!.. They are not professional at all . I would greatly Highly recommend you not use this business. One of my friends was going to do a tint job for one of the workers here but he Lied about time and wanted him to come tint in a shop that he doesn’t even own.

The mechanic Dany explained the entire process of how and why I needed certain things fixed. My car is very old, so I appreciated his transparency and willingness to answer all my questions. As someone who has experienced overpriced mechanics in the past, I found 766 Auto to be the best in Austin.

I have been going to them for a couple of years now and they do the best work on my car. Also, prices are super reasonable. They dont do that thing where they bring you around back and try to con you into doing more work than your car actually needs. They do the job, do it well, and send you on your way. They are truly the ideal mechanic shop.

766 Auto has a very professional service, they dont do any repair until you approve it and they dedicate a long time in your satisfaction. They have done fast oil changes and necessary repairs effectively, on my car and my wifes.

By far the best place to make a state inspection. No appointment needed it. They checked me in as soon as I drove in. The inspection took about 15 minutes and the entire process was really great compare to other places. 100% recommended!

Took my friends car here one morning for an oil change. DUE TO THEIR MISTAKES, MY FRIENDS ENGINE IS LOCKED UP AND THEY WONT HELP FIX IT.They used the wrong oil filter which popped off later that day, leaking out all of the oil. The engine locked up in the middle of north Lamar later that day and we had to tow it to Lambs auto. Lambs inspected the car and determined it now needs a new engine.The owner of Youniversal auto didnt treat the issue like it was urgent at all and denies that it was his fault. He refuses to pay for the repairs.We had to cancel our trip we were planning and we are not out a car. All because they couldnt do an oil change correctly.

This used to be my go to place but they hired new staff and they lost me as a customer. I was charged to run a diagnostic [ which I understand now that that is normal but there was no head up on that charge] and when I ask about why I was being charged he said oh you know, its like a pregnancy test 🥴 seriously?! I dont understand the correlation but according to him it made sense why he had to charge me $100 and give me no answer and send me off on my way. Disappointed.

These guys can’t be bothered to give a quote over the phone. Guy wouldn’t even take the year make and model of my car to give me a ball park of how much it would be to get my brakes done. I realize it’s better to take the car in for an exact cost but everyone I call for quotes is at least helpful in trying to look up the right parts for my car. If they can’t be bothered then I can’t be bothered spending my money here.

Truly lives to service on a personal level. They fix what you need, recommends things that were wrong on the inspection but DOES NOT push, just lets me know what can wait or even if it worth to be fixed according on my plans to keep the car. Called late this afternoon when I accidently loosened the heat shield under my car. I was told to bring in my car and they took it back and reconnected it quickly. This place is great. They are courteous and careful especially in view of the virus.

Solid shop with honest professionals working on your vehicle! I recently took my old Silverado here (after having a bad experience someplace else) to get my exhaust manifold gasket replaced. Had it in that morning and was ready that afternoon. Even called me to discuss possible other needs but NEVER pressured me into anything additional, just wanted to make sure I was informed. This place really makes you feel like your getting an honest opinion about your vehicles needs without getting ripped off. After my longtime mechanic recently closed his shop, Youniversal is now my go to place for my trucks needs!

Great service. Ive been here for an oil change which was super fast without them trying to add on 5 additional services like Jiffy. Recently got my shocks replaced and an alignment for maintenance. Same day service. Staff in the office is great. Location is convenient to Shore District. Dont think Ill go anywhere else for service.

Danny and the team at Youniversal are absolute rock stars and are now my permanent mechanics moving forward. I brought my old 2000 Lexus in because it was overheating and they went above and beyond the truly diagnose the underlying cause of the issue instead of settling for a cosmetic type repair. The cause wound up being a wiring issue since my car is so old and they worked long hours into the evening for a week to get to that diagnosis. Danny and the team are super friendly and are taking steps during COVID-19 to ensure safety because they wiped down the entire interior of my car with clorox wipes before they handed me the keys. Since they helped me out a few weeks ago, my Dad has taken his Lexus in to get the brakes fixed and he is now a HUGE Youniversal fan as well.

State InspectionGiving two stars because they always answer the phone when I call and take my car right away, but this is the second year in a row Ive tried a state inspection with them and the second time Ive failed. Last year almost felt legit, but after leaving the shop, my windshield wipers didnt work, so I had to go to another shop to get that fixed and ultimately pass the inspection.This year, with the car working great and nothing wrong with it, the guy who performed my inspection claimed that my ebrake cant hold my car, so I failed. How I know this absolute bs: I park on a steeper incline than the driveway they test it on every day and never had a problem. Still dont. Im not sure if theyre hurting from Covid or what, but I felt gauged on this one. Wont be going back.*Note to the owner: Ive read your other negative reviews and you seem to get very defensive when someone has a bad experience. Lets see what excuse and name-calling you come up with on this one.

My experience with this place was the best I’ve ever had at an auto shop! Went in for an oil change and state inspection. The guys there made the whole process so easy for me. Not once did I feel uncomfortable nor did they try to trick me into getting something done on the car that isnt needed. (Which happens a lot at these places when you’re a girl) I was in and out of there in 30-45 min and the prices were the best I’ve ever experienced without some kind of coupon or special. I plan on never going anywhere else in Austin for the rest of my life with vehicles.

First of all, I know nothing about cars. The other day my girlfriend’s check engine light was blinking, and she had to drive to Dallas later that day. She didn’t wanna make that drive if something was wrong, so we took it in. Fortunately, it was a one off thing and they quickly found that out and didn’t end up charging bc there was nothing they needed to do. Sounds obvious, but I’m always worried about being taken for a ride at autoshops. This is NOT one of those places. Genuinely wanted to help us and explained everything, and gave us advise of what to do if it happens again. If I have a problem with my car I’m coming here. Good,neighborhood people who will help you instead of just try to get money. Thanks again, y’all

Being a girl going into an automotive shop can be scary. I always feel like I have to take my dad with me because of the fear of getting ripped off. So here is what happened.I got an inspection and Jiffy Lube failed me because my parking brake wasnt working the way it should. They didnt work on this but they recommended Youniversal for repairs. Another friend also had recommended them so I gave them a shot.They got it fixed within the same day of dropping it off, and took care of my alignment while it was there. They had justification for why certain repairs were needed now and which ones I could put off. I totally felt the vibe of honesty. Paying for repairs sucks, but not as bad as paying for stuff I didnt need. I trust them wholeheartedly. I will be back for sure, just hopefully not too soon

Always top notch service from this shop. The wait is never too long and when my familys vehicles need serious repair Johnny and Robert have never steered me into costly and unecessary repairs. Let me put it this way, I drive in from Round Rock to have these guys still work on my car, thats how much trust they have earned with me over the years.

Very honest mechanics. Called me and told me of a slight rip in my Jeep soft top that they were installing for me and offered to fix it. Most mechanics wouldve said nothing because it was a tiny rip that was barely noticeable. Not Robert and Jonnie. Taken a few cars there for oil changes, always fast and good price. Highly recommended.

Took my car for an inspection, they forgot to put my gas cap back on. Okay, no big deal, but I don’t have time to pick it up before work. They said they’d drop it off at my house, but never did. I had to call three more times to confirm they had it and I picked it up three days later.

Stopped in on Saturday morning for an inspection expecting to wait. Greeted and checked in immediately. My inspection was completed and I was on my way in no time. These guys are the best! Ill keepcoming back and highly recommend them.

Dishonest. I was blatantly lied to at this shop. Youniversal lied and said I had no freon in my system and was going to charge me for things that were not required at all for my car. I came here to have my AC checked out after having my oil changed here a couple times. I was told that they could hook up some gauges and get some reading and determine the problem for $30. I agreed to this and after the test they told me that there was no freon left in my AC system and that they would need to do further testing (refill AC system with freon and dye and Id drive it for a couple days and bring it back and they could determine if there was a leak). That was going to cost me an additional $124. They also told me that after this, it would likely be an expensive fix to correct any leaks. So, they made it sound like they were going to find the problem with the $30 test and then they told me an additional $124 was necessary. I didnt like this so I went to Pep Boys. Pep Boys checked out my car and found out that there was actually freon in my system and that there was only a problem with a very cheap part to replace. I had my car fixed in a few hours for $87 total at Pep Boys.

These guys are terrible. I went in because my clutch was acting up and they told me that I need a whole new clutch setup. They also over charged me for a diagnostic. I left the shop with my car cause I couldnt pay for the fix. Later that day I took my car to a friend who simply adjusted my clutch pedal and the problem was gone. These guys just want your money. I dont reccomend these dudes at all.

Came in for an inspection on my only day off in months so very precious time to me. Was asked to return in 30 minutes for a quick inspection. Returned in 30 minutes and was told there were 2 people ahead of me now. Piss poor first experience here. Hope thats not the norm.

Been here a few times for oil changes, safety inspections and engine light checks. While I dont think theyre a great choice for major repairs, they seem to be honest and quick with the small stuff. Theres a sign out front that says theyre hiring mechanics because business is booming. I take that as a good sign.

I brought my car here because the tire light came on and I thought I had a leak. They checked, supposedly, and told me no leak- just that all my tires were low. I was pretty stoked and thought they were great because they didnt charge me. I came out two days later (I drive pretty rarely) to a flat tire in my driveway. Now I get to figure out how to get a new tire or the current one patched without ruining my rims. Super irritating!! I guess you get what you pay for.

State Inspection.This is the second time I have gone to the station to get a state inspection done. First time it was for my motorcycle and then today for my car and they told me that they are not allowed to do State Inspections because of Covid. I checked with another State inspection service and said that was flat out not true. I will be turning them into DPS.

Went for a State inspection, it was fast.Their labor prices are high but other then that, they didnt try to scam me like their neighbors on fifth street.

I came in on 3/19 and requested a oil change and Visual check in the alignment on my car. The other day I got in an accident and the front door can’t be opened and I made sure to tell the girl working the counter that you can’t go through the driver door. I watch 2 different people try to pry open the door and I run out to stop then and I come back in and no apology or anything. After I get the bill I ask about the alignment and she goes out an a guy comes and asks if I had a question about the bill? Seemed like the person in the front went back and said I had a problem with the bill instead of the alignment because she said they could “visually inspect the alignment for free”. Also the 15 minute oil is not true and I was there from 3:00 -3:40 and I wasn’t told about the line or wait at all.

I use to like these guys but when I came for my inspection the young guy that did it removed my center back light on my SUV and failed my inspection then offered me 170 dollars to have it fix.I know he did it because I had checked all my lights before I had came and it wasnt pushed in he did it in order to get more money from me.I always got my oil change here never had a problem until now. Never Again.

I know just enough to be dangerous when it comes to engines. They were polite and when my diagnosis wasnt correct fixed the problem for less than my solution would have cost. So I give them a 5 for honesty and since they managed it the same day, for speed too. Good work guys!

THIS IS THE WAY BUSINESSES SHOULD RUN!!!!I went by Youniversal for a leaking oil problem, caused by a shady oil change at Jiffy Lube. I was bracing for a major problem (e.g., too much oil, which can destroy an engine) and worried it would cost me hundreds - if not thousands - to get it fixed. These guys diagnosed the problem, made a quick fix, and sent me on my way.If they told me I owed them a couple hundred bucks, I would have paid it. But they didnt take advantage of my vulnerability. These are good, honest people and we are luck to have them in the neighborhood.Youniversal Auto Care has my business for life!

They charged me nearly $700 for an incorrect repair, and wouldnt fix the thing I asked for without more money.My car was lurching back and forth when idle, and I took it to a few other mechanics who said it was an air compressor problem. I told Youniversal this and they fixed my Air Conditioning (which wasnt broken) and a gasket. The lurching is still occuring, and a new problem was present with the fuel line the day I got it back.So grand total is Im out $700, my car is still having the same problem, and its ALSO now spewing gasoline. DO NOT GO HERE.

BEWARE!!!!! they completely gave us the run-around, after 3 years of loyalty. Dropped $1100 on a catalytic converter. They manager is really nice, they seem to be fine for an oil change or inspection, but do nothing more than you would expect at a lube shop. Thier mechanics are terrible.

Do not take your car here.This is a crappy mechanic, the only thing they know how to do is run an OBD scan (for the not car savvy this is free at any auto parts store around the country but Youniversal Auto Care charges $90).Brought my car in and was very clear about the symptoms, what I wanted them to focus on and what I believed I was causing it. There is no way they ever spent more than 10 minutes on my car and continued to blame a sensor I told, and had proof, that it was not. None the less I decided to trust them and let them replace it. They replaced a sensor that was not broken prior and I have the same problems now as I did before.Disregarding the fact that I believe I was lied to multiple times, if they would have spent 10 more minutes they could have proved the supposedly bad sensor was not actually bad and saved me some money. But that would have made them less.Find a better shop with people that actually know something about cars.

My pregnant wife’s ac stopped working in her Buick. I took it in and the same day it was diagnosed and fixed. Very professional will be using them for all services now.

Went here for an oil change. Took about an hour, not too bad. Recommended me for a transmission fluid change but there wasnt any pressure when I said I wasnt interested. Price was a little high and they were even offering a discount off of their normal cost. Staff was very friendly, place wasnt nasty, had some couches and a tv (mighty ducks was playing when I went there). I typically like to do oil changes myself and for major stuff I like to go to Juke Auto. But in the future, I will probably compare prices between Youniversal and Juke.

Needed an alignment and brakes so I stopped because I saw the sign that said $79.99 alignment which is a steal versus firestone and the dealer. The brake estimate was way cheaper than I got from brake check when I used to use them. The knocked it out within a few hours. It was a good idea that I got there early because the lobby fills up quickly and so does their parking lot. I got their upgrade to a lifetime worth of alignments because I just bought my car so I know I will get the full value out of it, and then some. I will be back because I had no idea they are like a jiffy lube, firestone, and a midas all in one. I found my new shop for sure.
