Excellent food and cool staff. The bagel sandwich I had was delicious and the potatoes with it were great. It was very fast and we were able to get in and out within 10 minutes. Good location for swinging by for a quick breakfast. I recommend Woodgrain

Waited over 10 minutes for a bagel with cream cheese and a tea. Finally left without my food so I wouldnt be late to work. I did call and they said theyd refund me and in the future I should let them know I need my food ASAP. I didnt think it would take over 10 minutes to put cream cheese on a bagel.

I’ve only been to the location in Lowry/Aurora, and it’s my favorite breakfast spot! I don’t usually write reviews, but I’ve never had a better bagel- perfectly salty, nice texture, good flavor. The Farmstead and the Brooklyn on an everything bagel are my favorite items, but the breakfast poutine is a must try! The staff has always been kind and friendly. Yes, it’s on the pricier side as far as bagels go, but it’s worth it if you wanna treat yourself every now and then. Their prices are still comparable to other places like Rosenbergs, but with better tasting food. I also like their matcha lattes because they aren’t too sweet. This place certainly has my business and I highly recommend.

Fast service but the food is just OK. You have a baseline price for a breakfast sandwich but essentially have to add on extras for extra cost in order for the sandwich to actually taste good. So if you just ordered the basic bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and didn’t add a condiment or topping for extra $$, all you get is bacon and egg and cheese on a dry bagel. The sandwich design or the ordering could be clearer that you basically need to add a condiment or something extra. Their competitor on the Anschutz campus, Etai’s, has aioli as a default condiment on their breakfast sandwich, and it’s also about 25% cheaper. The bagels themselves are not amazing. Maybe I’m just not a Montreal style bagel fan. Thin, crunchy hard on the outside, overly salted and simultaneously tasteless. This might be someone’s idea of a good bagel but it isn’t mine.

Their online menu for the Anschutz location and the service they use for online orders have different menus. While they are different, both have gruyere on the menu. Well all four of our orders had gruyere on them (one of which was a gruyere grilled cheese) and instead of calling us to let us know they actually do not carry gruyere - they substituted and/or left it out. When going back in to let them know their customer service was mediocre. I would rather spend the money elsewhere than come back to spend money on mediocre food and customer service. That said, my group mostly liked the food, but weren’t blown away by anything.

So much better than what was here before! There was a big crowd there but the staff was super friendly and my order was ready quickly. I had the breakfast burrito with avocado which turned out to be really fresh and good. The portion size was surprisingly big and the girl at the register told me that all of their ingredients and coffee is from local vendors which I always love to hear. There is also salads and packaged things like protein bars which is convenient for taking to class.

Convenient location for students, but overpriced. Bagels have good flavor, but are thin and cost over $4. They often break when used for sandwiches. I suggest stopping at Einsteins on the way to class to get a better bagel for $1.50. Same of the same candies that are in our vending machines are repackaged and sold for double. Kombucha that is normally $2 is $4-$5 here. A single sandwich without any sides is $8-9. Some sandwiches are premade and cant be customized despite being the same price as a typical lunch menu at a full-service restaurant. The drink sizes are small and a black coffee costs double that of Starbucks despite an inferior taste.Clearly, the fact that its the only cafe in our school building allows prices to be inflated. Its a matter of supply-demand and our relatively small campus population being able to support other food options. (Im not sure it can.)

Great staff, everyone is so friendly and high quality service. Bagels aren’t that great, they’re doughy with a charred base and look like they’re missing yeast— wood fire baking should be reserved for pizza. Also, this place is VERY expensive for college students

I love the boulder location so i was excited to come here but was so unimpressed.. no greeting, was not asked if i would be eating here or to go, she didn’t know what kind of herbal teas they offer, and my bagel was so messy looking. as a barista, i know how little effort it takes to greet customers and create presentable food, but there was no effort put in by staff here

THIS IS THE FIRST NEGATIVE REVIEW IVE WRITTEN IN BOULDER SINCE COVID-19 HIT:I will not support Woodgrain again. And, I will encourage anyone who reads this to also not support Woodgrain. We can find good jobs for our Friends at Woodgrain elsewhere. The first time I went to Woodgrain, my dad took me. The bagel was tasty, but honestly, I was absolutely shocked at the prices. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!Then Covid-19 hit, and I came back to town to help my family and our friends in the community. At first, Woodgrain was awesome. But, when the Mask Order went into effect in Boulder County, I noticed the staff were not taking it seriously at all.On the first day I was in after the Mask Order, I noticed both the cooks on the line and some staff handling food were not wearing masks. So, I cancelled my order. When the manager, Dillon, returned my money he asked why I wanted a refund. I told him his cooks on the line werent wearing masks at all, or were wearing them improperly. So, I told him, I didnt feel the food was safe. He replied Interesting. Then, the second day I went in after the Mask Order was in place, I again noticed cooks on the line not wearing masks at all, or not wearing them properly. This time I walked out without ordering. When I called Dillon this time, he said Interesting again. I also called Woodgrains general manager. She assured me that it was company policy that ALL employees on the line or handling food were REQUIRED to wear masks and to wear them properly. So, when I walked through the third time and employees on the line were not wearing masks correctly, I talked to Dillon again. He was clearly angry with me. He told me to disassociate myself from Woodgrain if you dont feel safe and stated in anger that I dont run a slave ship here. To be sure, I was a tad shocked. After I contacted the GM again, the owner, David Bowen in Florida, contacted me. Yesterday, I told David I was going to swing by his Boulder Woodgrain store again, for a fourth time, to see if the staff were finally wearing masks properly. I wanted to give him a heads up.However, this morning, David in Florida, the owner of Woodgrain, texted me to take my business and threats elsewhere and that he doesnt need customers like me. Oh boy!!I want the reader to know that I grew up in Boulder and went to school here. My family has lived in and around the Boulder area for about 60 years. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in and around Boulder which have become an integral part of this wonderful community. I have to admit, I still enjoy several of our Friends who work at Woodgrain. But, I will not do any business with Woodgrain again. And, I will not do business with any other restaurants that David in Florida, the owner, has or runs.David from Florida must not be from Boulder. Boulderites dont treat locals the way David has treated me.TO THE READER, PLEASE SERIOUSLY CONSIDER BOYCOTTING WOODGRAIN. AND, IF YOU ARE ORDERING YOUR FOOD HERE, DO PLEASE CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE COOKS ON THE LINE AND THE STAFF ARE WEARING MASKS PROPERLY.P.S. This guy David is a real winner. I never asked any of your staff out. I do consider some of them Friends. I did say that we should all have a big party with the Covid-19 dust settles. Give me a break David!Whats more, I never harassed anyone at your shop.Yep, I rarely boycott a restaurant. But, if there ever was a time, this is it!!!Ad hominem attacks from David in Florida just solidify my focus here. The Woodgrain owner is a hypocrite. I tried to work with Woodgrain. Unfortunately, David has not taken this seriously.I STAND FOR WHAT I BELIEVE IN DAVID FROM FLORIDA!! AND, BY THE WAY ITS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS TO SAY YOURE FIRING A CUSTOMER WHO IS ALREADY BOYCOTTING THIS AND ALL OF YOUR RESTAURANTS!!! BOULDER DESERVES BETTER!***A FORMAL HEALTH COMPLAINT WITH BOULDER COUNTY IS PENDING***

Sooooo over priced it should be a sin! They repackage small serving sizes of cheezits and starbursts and sell them for quadruple the price of a family size bag from a drug store. They take advantage of this location and the food desert that exists around the campus.Today, I waited at the counter for over 5 minutes in order to get service when there was no one else in the cafe. There were three employees avoiding eye contact with me and none of them made any effort to acknowledge my presence. This is not an isolated event. I only have 10 minute breaks between classes and most days I am afraid thats not enough time to pick up a coffee. I would give 1 star for convenience, and maybe a 0.5 star for the vanilla lattes but most of the coffee drinks taste burnt and it actually pains me to spend my money here. Do better woodgrain!

For it to be a new location its off to a great start. Busy at lunch and moderate throughout the day. Shows that the consumer base is pleased and consistent. Suggestions would be the breakfast burrito if youre in a hurry and still want quality. Great for students on the go. If you have a little more time the paninis are the way to go.
