The first thing that impressed me about Big Blue Saw was their amazing estimator web site. A process that takes a week of back and forth with most service bureaus is painlessly dealt with in minutes at BBS. What ultimately sold me on BBS as my main cutting vendor is that their entire process, start to finish, is as efficient and professional as their web site. If you dont want to interact with human beings, their automated process is flawless. If you do want to talk to a person their staff is friendly and efficient. Long story short I feel very fortunate to have found BBS and recommend them highly.

I have used Big Blue Saw for multiple engineering prototypes over several years with excellent results each time. The online quoting tool provides me the ability to get instant pricing and lead time as well as play around with different materials and thicknesses to see the effect on part cost. When I need something fast, they have a rush service which is consistently very quick. I have even had things made that other places said were not possible to fabricate. I am glad I did, the automatic quote was fast as was the online ordering. I got my parts in about a week. If you make an order and the file is messed up then getting in contact with someone that can help you is damn near impossible to correct the mistake. Customer service does not exist. Email replies take 24-36 hours if your lucky or they my not reply at all. Im about to have to go through paypal to get my money back.

Big blue saw is a true American company that takes pride in there work and provide great customer service.They also helped me understand the cutting procedures so I can save money on the cheaper cutting process or when to invest in the low taper cutting that in return saves me a lot of work once I get my order.Blue saw shipped my orders within 2 weeks and very well packaged! also, low taper parts were bubble wrapped in a way they were not touching each other. VERY IMPORTANT as to not mar and ding up precision parts.I had a minor problem with one order and they went above and beyond to correct it. I have ordered several parts in the last 6-10 months. The timing has been as promised or shorter, and the customer service has been attentive and responsive. I have used the information on the site to guide my design work, and each part has come out as expected. This was the first time I ever used Big Blue Saw, we had a small, custom fabrication project which needed to be done accurately and quickly. I had requested quotes from other companies, some did not even respond. Simon responded in less than 24 hours and was extremely customer friendly and helpful. His communication was great and the price was less than half of what it would have cost in Dallas. It did take a little longer than what we would have liked, but the finished product was perfect, even better quality than what I was replacing. We needed custom made acrylic rings which were going around speakers and subwoofers to hold LED lighting. Our original stereo equipment had been stolen, including the rings. We had to replace everything and custom fit the new electronics with new rings. Precision cutting was necessary because we did not have the new equipment when I placed the order, and we were relying on the manufacturers size specifications. Everything works and fits perfectly, would definitely recommend Big Blue Saw and use them again. Thank you for a great experience

Excellent communication. The business was willing to attempt experimental jobs with exotic metals which all other companies I have contacted (20+) would not touch. Very good results with Aluminium; they sourced non-standard Al in my specs from McMaster. Steel brushing was needed for Al after the process, but I am still very happy with the result, and will use them again

Used B.B.S. for a Christmas gift, The parts are all .040 304ss and came out perfect (except for a few little mistakes i made while designing the cad file, totally my fault and not actually noticeable to anyone other then me )The interface was a bit buggy, and would give me an error about no parts in your shopping cart but i was able to work around this by initially quoting for 2 sets of parts, then changing to 1 set of parts on the actual order page.Scratches to the material were minimal and Ive been able to remove them with 400 wet / dry, which was exactly what i was planning from the start.Took (iirc) 7 days from when i placed the order to when it wound up at my door.

Placed my order. Did not receive update. Requested update info as website refused to let me login. Received response from Julie Simancek on 21 NOV 2017. As things stand, we are waiting on getting the sheet and then will drop everything Friday or Monday to finish off your order and get it shipped. I will update you as soon as I know more and have a tracking number. Today is 29 NOV 2017. Still no response. No response to my email requesting an update. In the past Big Blue Saw worked well - which is why they get 2 stars. Currently, I do not think customer service is where it needs to be. After logging in, I am now advised that I have no orders, and have no prior history of orders. I would advise those using this company to follow-up on every order, prior to expected shipment date, as it appears they have a problem in incorporating submitted orders with their website and properly notifying customers via email when delays are encountered. Hope this helps someone avoid the frustration with this company. They do have good prices, and they have worked the past several times Ive used them, but as a returning customer, I would expect a much smoother process - with good communication. I understand that sometimes the raw materials are consumed and you have to get additional materials in, however, I would think the right thing to do would be to let your customer know of this delay so that they can make contingency plans - especially with their customers.

Spent significant time getting a waterjet cut submitted to them only to have them say their equipment is broken at the last minute. They tried to upsell to a more expensive machine without covering the cost delta.

I ordered roughly 50 parts to be water jetted and was thoroughly impressed with their quality and the speed at which I received them, they shipped less then 3 days after the order was placed. The price was also much lower then the local shops in the San Francisco Bay Area. Also, I was put at ease ordering online because of the rendering of my parts generated on their website.

In the past Ive had many parts out of wood and aluminum made by laser cutter or CNC machining, but for a recent project I needed 1/2 aluminum plate accurately cut - thicker than the laser cutting service I use can handle, but with small internal radii and corners that would have made CNC tricky. I was aware of water jet cutting and found Big Blue Saw recommended on several separate websites. I have to say I am extremely happy with the service and quality of parts I received - the upload process was straightforward and I received quotes immediately, and the variety of materials and thicknesses BBS offers is wonderful. The total turnaround time until I got my parts was much faster than expected and probably half the time I have waited (from ordering) for laser cut parts from other services. Finally, BBS accurately described online the water jet finish so I knew what to expect with the final parts, which are fantastic. Afterwards, the owner Simon contacted me directly to follow up on my order. Overall an excellent service and business and I highly recommend it to any makers.
