3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. Parking here is terrible. Awkward location to get into. They never have as many flavors as the other location, which is kinda disappointing. I came here looking for something that is apparently only available at the Duluth location.Decided to try matcha, which was kind of meh to me. Came back to try the current flavor of the moment which is brown sugar... Not bad. I really wish they offered the Ube and Thai Tea soft serve year-round.

I really wanted to like this place. My first impression was the parking layout. It was very limited and an awkward entrance when driving in. Interior decor was nice and place appears clean. To me, seems overprice for the amount and quality. The matcha was way too sweet to me...my daughter likes it...so maybe I will give it another try.

Used to be good but now their Matcha soft-serve do not have that strong Matcha taste to it anymore. Maybe they reduced the amount of powder to it. Also, it isnt as creamy. It was kind of icy and melty. Very expensive for what you get. The customer service is okay. They arent very friendly nor welcoming. The Matcha powder at least is very good. I buy it instead and mix to a vanilla ice cream.

I literally just went and ordered and iced matcha latte with oat milk, the same drink I always order at the other Matcha Cafe in Duluth. I received a lukewarm veggie-looking drink😃. No ice was in it, no layering or effort in presentation. If you are going to be a barista, please put the effort in layering at least a basic latte. I was so upset when I tasted it too as it was all grainy. It was not worth the $6 I paid. Least to say, I was disappointed with my visit today.Cute interior though but next time, I think I’ll stick with their soft serve stuff (something that shouldn’t be too easy to mess up)*photo was 3 mins after receiving my drink.

The beverages they serve are interesting and tasty, and to me a little different from the standard “bubble tea” fare that peppers this area. The shaved ice is awesome, and I only return for that. The sweet treats are very much overpriced. Last time we went, we tried the dango and mochi (shown in photo exactly how you receive it). The mochi you see in the picture - plastic and all - costs $5. We had just bought a few at the supermarket 10 minutes away for $1.80 each, twice the size. I’ve also tried their taiyaki and find it overpriced as well. Now we have our shaved ice there, and then walk to Cuckoo’s for their sesame balls. Much more delicious and cheaper too!

I have tried 15+ ice cream places in and around Atlanta and this is by far the best! I am yet to try the Match flavor (it’s on my list), but they always have interesting flavors that change every 2 weeks (approx.) that catches my eye. My friend and I have tried the Horchata, Oreo/Cookies & Cream, Pumpkin Pie and Cold Brew Peppermint Mocha (their most recent flavor) soft serves, and all of them were outstanding. The flavor has always been on point and their soft serve smooth in texture and delicious. Unlike most other ice cream places in Atlanta, they don’t have overly sweet ice cream, which is a huge plus! Some of their flavors are also very unique (like Taro Jasmine Milk Tea and so forth). I highly recommend checking out their Instagram page as they announce their new flavor periodically. I will continue to visit this place and recommend to all my friends and family.

The fb ad brought me in to try the brown sugar boba float and it did not disappoint! The ice cream is very good but the boba was pretty much sugar-less. Just make sure to really stir the drink up so the brown sugar and everything mixes. My bf got #27 (hojicha latte) and it wasn’t bad, then again we aren’t really matcha ppl. Very cute interior, limited parking spots (about 7), and nice interaction with the cashier who was very sweet. What also brought me in is their unique flavors in pint size ice cream tubs. They have white rabbit candy flavor! I’ve never seen it in ice cream form, they are expensive but I’m sure they are worth the try.

Love this place! I’m glad to have found a place that has amazing matcha soft serve and so many other desserts! They also have a lot bakery items that are matcha flavored as well. They even have raindrop cakes that look so beautiful! They always have new featured flavors for limited times. This day they had Thai tea but they also have ube, taro, black sesame, milk tea, and others periodically. They always have matcha and vanilla. They have 2 locations but I’ve only ever been to the doraville location. The inside is super cute and really nice aesthetic. They aren’t allowing inside seating yet due to the pandemic but you can still go inside and order and then they have some benches outside to sit at. You can follow them on Instagram to see the newest featured flavors.

The brown sugar boba latte float is pretty good! I got the mixed one with matcha and the brown sugar flavor definitely came through. The matcha flavor was subtly sweet and complemented the brown sugar soft serve well. However, I also bought the oolong milk tea soft serve that came in a pint, and it still had fat globules in it that werent completely dissolved, so not the best experience. I wont be getting that again. The tea flavor was also really subtle, not really there at all unfortunately.

Ive been in this spot multiple times since they opened. They have the best matcha-flavored drinks and desserts Ive tried so far. Must say its quite overpriced, but I still indulge myself since you dont find this quality anywhere else. The problem with this stablishment is one of their employees which Ive seen working there for a while. She is quite rude and always looks like she is very upset. At first, I thought she was just having a bad day, but her behavior kept getting worse and worse on my next visits. I thought I did something to upset her but after watching her for a bit she seemed to treat every customer the same way.It has become kind of an inside joke to wonder how upset she will be on a scale of 1-10 before entering the store. The rest of the employees are all very professional. If it wasnt for this particular employee and the high price, this spot would be 5 stars.

The wifey DEMANDED to come here based on the recommendation of her friends. I obliged and learned my lesson! To start with, the location of the store is truly unfortunate; the parking layout was done by somebody high AND drunk. Its plain poor parking and awful to get in and out.The interior décor is tasteful, going for a Asian forest type vibe. My biggest issue with this place is a practical one: the soft serve option for a cone is all of TWO. Matcha and a rotating flavor. I mean WHY SO FEW FLAVORS?! Of course I got both after agonizing over the overwhelming choices. They were both very sweet (verging on too sweet) the matcha and the thai iced tea.Insult to injury was when I saw the freezer full of different flavors in pint size for a precious $8. Ouch. I understand its small batch but that is quite steep for a pint of soft serve.Overall, wifeys friends oversold and overhyped this place. Its just another overpriced, nichy soft serve place in an awful location and poor selection for eat in.

Delicious matcha desserts and lots of sweet and savory Japanese snacks to choose from in a beautiful minimalist matcha green cafe with traditional Japanese decor. My first time here, I tried the Special at Matcha Cafe Maiko, which is a layered parfait including matcha twisty soft serve ice cream, sweet adzuki red bean paste (often found in daifuku mochi and red beads buns), matcha chiffon cake, mochi, jelly and interestingly corn flakes for some extra crunchiness. The matcha shaved ice desserts is delicious too with many of the same toppings. Besides sweets, there are also savory snacks like takoyaki (grilled bread batter balls with octopus inside, drizzled with mayo, a Japanese BBQ sauce, and flakes of dried fish called bonito). Ill definitely be back to try more items from the menu.

I am so happy that I found this cafe. I visited here first time today and ordered a matcha ice cream, a crepe cake, and a latte. Although it was a bit pricey, but verything was so good. The casher was really nice. However, Id like to suggest them to have a ice cream holder. The ice cream was pretty big, and it was little bit uncomfortable to hold it while having cake and doing something with my smart phone. Whether they have it or not, I will definitely visit here again, but it would be really helpful with the ice cream holder. : )

How did we not know about this place?! The Matcha Latte Float is so creamy it tastes like chocolate.I wish they offered a slightly larger selection of hot Matcha drinks, but you arent going to taste anything bad here. Excellent quality Cafe. The branding and interior design are also painstakingly consistent, which is nice, if a little overdone. Its a very popular spot, too, despite the inadequate parking lot. Probably want to park in the larger lot of the shopping center directly behind it (and check out Tea House Formosa while youre there). Fantastic place for premium matcha fans, and this outpost of the mini-chain really ups the game for Atlanta. Loved the Maiko Special that is a parfait with luscious creamy soft serve (that has just the right intensity of match flavor, and is skillfully controlled so that it’s not too sweet), mochi, matcha sponge cake, corn flakes for crunch, red beans and jelly drizzled with brown sugar syrup. Came here around 8pm for the soft opening. The place was packed with excited customers. The line went fast and everything ran smoothly. We tried the maiko special and the shaved iced in the big bowl. I really enjoyed the maiko special which is the matcha soft served icecream over layers of matcha soft sponge cake, cornflakes, clear jelly and topped with I believe mochi balls and a chestnut. The shaved ice cream dessert was okay. It is topped with the chestnut, mochi balls and red bean topping. Total for both was about $16. The facility is cozy and has clean simple but modern decor. I got the Matcha Tea Float with half and half of the soft serve. Very delicious! Only downside is that they put a little too much ice in the cups when in reality if they just put soft serve you could really enjoy the whole experience of the Match Tea and Soft Serve together (without biting into random ice bits) But other than that, very quick service and good seating for a place to meet up with friends for a while.

I give this place stars for trying to make the Japanese desserts in Atlanta. I’m visiting from NYC and all I can say is that this place is far from any decent Japanese desserts. The ice cream tastes very powdery, pure sugar and lack of tastes to the original flavors. The ingredients they use are way too cheap to make any decent Japanese desserts. I’m just disappointed and only had a bite of my ice cream and threw out the rest.

Matcha Café Maiko, a casual café. Very pleasant and asethically suitable for photos. Serving up some nice cold treats for these more hot summer days. While most days, youll find that parking space is very limited that when you do get a spot on one, it does make the trip kind of worth it. Theres really no tips that anyone or I can give for this location. Theres parking around the shop, but do not try to park in the rear where the restaurant is. The owners or whoever they are making to stand in the lot kicking people away make it for a frustrating situation thats better avoided.Carpool or park in the other areas nearby and walk over. Yeah, thats about it.The Maiko Special is a good choice for the first time visitors. Has a nice blend of flavors and toppings that you cant go wrong with. Personally, choosing the Mix option was the right choice for me. But theres also the traditional matcha or plain vanilla. Both are nice.Decor on the inside is very minimal, but taking traditional Japanese interior design. Add some of the items found around the tables to your photos, giving a little more variety to the mini photo shoot. Its definitely worth a try if youre in the area.

I love all things Matcha, so this place easily fits the bill for my sweets cravings. The parking lot is small, so you may need to park in back. With Covid in place, all orders are to-go only. They serve hot and cold drinks (matcha, hojicha, etc.). The Maiko special is what you would consider a classic parfait style dessert in Japan. Super yummy filled w/ Kanten Jelly, Azuki, Corn Flakes, Mochi, Matcha cake, and your choice of soft serve (choose the Matcha, if they have hojicha that day mix or choose one). The only real downside to this location is that the shop is small so they only have two flavor choices, Matcha or (insert flavor of month here lately or Vanilla). I wish they could make Matcha and Hojicha mainstays here. Youll have to go to Duluth location for that, but too far out of my way just for that.

Went for their soft opening today and was greeted with the sweet smell of fresh waffle cones. The place was packed but the service was quick and friendly. Parking right in front of the cafe may be a challenge but there is plenty surrounding the building. I had the matcha float and it wasnt too sweet, which is a sign that they use high quality matcha as other places will try to hide behind a ton of sugar. An improvement could be adding a little more of the toppings. I added adzuki beans (delicious) and mochi and, as you can see by the picture, it could have used more of both. I didnt dock points for it though because 1. Soft opening and 2. There was simply no room. Ill be back!

Need a quick 5-minute Japanese tea ceremony in soft-served ice cream or frappe form? Well, this is closest thing thatll get you there here in ATL rather than running to the airport and jumping on the next flight to Narita. The matcha soft serves is very smooth and creamy. Review №80

Let me start off by saying that the ice cream was spot on for me. It was creamy and not as sweet as most places here in ATL (so be aware if you like your ice cream really sweet, this may not be your fav). The place was beautiful and clean. Staff was nice. The only reason why Im only giving it 2 stars is because of the amount of ice they put in their floats. As you can see in the pictures, We got both the matcha and Hajicha floats (both L in size), and the ice literally was filled all the way up to the top of the cups. I honestly have not seen that much ice (if at all) in any floats from any other places ever before. It was just ridiculous, my husband literally finished the tea in 3 sips after he was done with the ice cream. I do understand that the price diff is not that big between the regular soft serve ice cream and the floats (L cups), but somehow it still seemed like a rip off to me (L cup float is slightly more expensive, contains less ice cream, 3 sips of tea, and tons of ice). Btw, just fyi, I called and asked them the day after to see it would be possible to get the floats with less ice, and they said no.In the end, would I go back to this place again? The answer is yes (until I find somewhere I like better), but I would only stick with the soft serve ice creams.
