This was my first ever real eye exam as an adult and it couldn’t have gone better. I was a little nervous but everyone was kind and it was a smooth experience. They were ready for me and I didn’t wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. Picking out my new glasses was super easy as well. I will definitely be back for all my future exams.

My eye exam was great the selection process good too. However no one told me I could only pick up Monday thru Thursday which is a HUGE inconvenience. So I asked for a refund considering I was not available during the week. They can’t do that either. Smh. Practically their open for NO REASON. I would suggest that during your exam inform patients of your hours! Because if I would have know this FIRST no way I would’ve chosen Visionworks.
Staff is nice, but lacks common sense & sense of urgency. Ordering contacts when someone comes in for a contact exam should be automatic. Theyre just slow & lethargic there; go to Cascade if you want quick & great customer service.

Great appointment! Could not have been nicer and funnier especially first thing in the morning. They had all my info ready to go so my exam went my quick and had my frames picked out. Wish the turn around time was a little faster, but so happy I’ll finally be able to read stuff! Haha
I am a patient as well as my daughter newly becoming a patient. I have to say I was so impressed with Dr. Whitlach. He made this eye appointment seamless and a fantastic experience. He took time to explain everything during our appointment. I would definitely recommend this location. Best optometrist Ive ever had the pleasure of seeing- no pun intended. Joseph W! Ive been wearing glasses since middle school and hadnt discovered until Yesterday, that it was in middle school when I experienced an eye injury that my eye never recovered from. He found the issue by being so thorough. He asked more questions than which is more clear. He gave points of reference so you had clear instruction. I could tell that he was not only an EXPERT, but that he cared about his work and the people he served. I love some good customer service and he made my list. Joseph was informative and humble and I appreciated that. He even helped me to understand the extra test that always feels like an upsell- so I understand its benefits without the pressure. I paid out of pocket for my exam for the whole family and it was very affordable. With service like this, I will keep coming back!

Great service and some of the nicest people I’ve met. Jyrell helped me but everybody jumped in big shout outs to Forest and Gretel. Dr. Whitlatch is great too; he takes his time to explain stuff so ask if you don’t understand anything. If you’re very big on brands though, they don’t have as wide a collection as some other places but they still do have a lot of great options

He was very detailed in his explanation of the types of contacts available especially in regards to the shape of my eye, which helped me make a better decision for my contacts. I have been going to Vision Works at Cumberland Mall for the last 15 years. I have always been pleased with the eyeglass selection and exceptional customer service. The eye doctors have been knowledgeable and very proficient.
The physicians knowledge is impressive, and comprehensive, a pleasant experience, detail comparisons to previous medical optomogerty results. Although the appt time was slightly delayed, I felt the visit was thorough. Everyone even down to the sales reps were professional and answered questions to my satisfaction.
He was enjoying explaining my eye exam. Explain the pictures behind the eye, The veins behind the eye. You could say he loved his work I enjoyed the visit. I didn’t like paying $700 for two pair glasses.

Drove 30 minutes to pick up my glasses just to be turned around at the door because the doctor is not in but offered to mail them to my house. if im here and my glasses are here just give them to me there is no difference in getting it mailed besides having to wait another 3 days

Received a text and an e-maill on Saturday that my glasses were ready and both said See you Soon! I drove to the Cumberland Mall (35 Mins) only to be told (with attitude no less) Our pick-up hours are Monday through Friday from 11 to 6. When I asked why the text or e-mail didnt mention this, I was told I dont know but that has been our policy for over a year.I drove home (35 mins) and called the corporate number. They were appalled by both the policy and the total lack of communication. They said they were requesting that the store manager call me. Its now Monday and still no one has called. Between what I paid and my insurance this was $450 purchase. What a horrible way to be treated. Go somewhere else for your glasses.M. Evans
General Manager and Assistant Manager were very polite however their staff was rude and unorganized. One gentleman had been waiting an hour another gentleman had been calling all day due to the staff loosing or misplacing his child glasses
I didn’t even go to my appointment yet and I’m already disappointed about the service. I called asking about my appointment that I have scheduled for December 17 and the person who I was talking to was not quite helpful I had to cancel my appointment and told them that I wasn’t available until after December 30. He said I can go online to look at the schedule to schedule an appointment but when I went online there were no options in regards to scheduling an appointment so I mentioned this to him and he’s like well I can’t walk you through the website. Most places would have gotten on their computer and step-by-step walk you through how to schedule an appointment
The Optometrist was very informative and spent time to explain how my vision had changed and what to expect with my new glasses. He was very patient with me during the exam-as I am not the best at figuring out which charts look better than others

Employees were friendly and professional, and knowledgeable in the capacities of their positions. The optometrist who served me was professional, friendly and thorough, as well as encouraging with his words. I was a bit disappointed that I had to wait more than a half hour to be seen since I had arrived promptly for my scheduled appointment. Visionworks Cumberland does not have a very large or diverse selection of eyewear, but with the help of one of the assistants I was able to find two pair of glasses that I was really pleased with. The prices were excellent too!
When I called to make an appointment the associate that answered was very helpful in making me an appointment. When I arrived at the Cumberland mall location my temperature was taken and I was immediately helped right away by usiaf. He explained to me what was going to take place and made me feel comfortable. The female associate as well as the doctor explained to me everything that they were doing during my eye exam. The doctor also thoroughly explained to me about my eyes. When leaving I felt at excited about getting my new glasses because these people had great customer service skills.

The worse experience. First, the glasses & contacts did not arrive in timeframe expected. I get its a pandemic but the arrival time was 3 weeks for glasses and contacts over 5 weeks. I called on a Friday to get status of eyewear and was told 3 of the 5 pair were in. I let them know I was on my way to come pickup only to get there and be told that pickup is only allowed M-TH. Went back following Monday asked about contact lenses and was told not in yet. Fast forward to today, 5 weeks later, I called to inquire about contact lens. Was told that one of the adult kid had to see the doctor for the contacts (mind you he has been wearing contacts for 7 years nor did they say we would have to come back in). Oh yeah and they did not get a text or email that contacts were ready. At this point I have made 4 trips and spent well over $1k.

This is the McDonalds of eyeglass wear. The Dr. doing the exam was great. The front of the store acts like a bunch of high school kids just there to collect a check with no interest in having ANY knowledge of eyeglasses. I mistakenly gave them a second chance when I had an issue and needed a repair. They wiped them off and handed them back to me with a smile as if they had actually done something. Luckily there is a Costco next door with a great and knowledgeable eyeglass staff! Save your time and money and go to Costco first. I know I will!
The staff is extremely rude. Especially females ones .. they have sucha a rude behaviour. They are not even happy to assist you over the phone. Like if u ask them one thing again they are like super rude
During my visit at the Cumberland location, I felt the doctor was not very personal and this was based upon all my other visits to various locations.
I had a great time with ALL the associates at VisionWorks Cumberland.The guy with the dreads & the associate who checked me out, were FANTASTIC. Both helped me pick a pair of glasses & their customer service was phenomenal, as were the Dr & his assistant. I actually had fun at the appointment, I laughed with this office the whole time I was there, which was a great change during this time of Corona. Thanks for the great time and the new glasses!

Was not impressed with the eye doctor or the service. I’ve never been so confused by an eye exam. Will not be going back here. When it was time to pick up the glasses that were already paid for on the date I ordered them and I was instructed to pick them up on January 11, 2020 I was told the eye Doctor was not in and I they could not dispense the glasses if he wasn’t there. First eye doctor I went to where you have to pay for the glasses in full at the time you order them. Normally I pay half down and 1/2 upon pick up. Then he compared it to if you go to a Pharmacy you can’t pick up your prescription if the Pharmacist is not there. Actually you can if your prescription is ready. I will not be going back here. This is an update. When my sonpicked up my glasses the wrong RX was put in. I had to go back see a different doctor and get a whole new eyes test. This doctor was much better.
I have been going to Visionworks for many years and they have never failed to provide exceptional customer service. This was one of my first appointments since Covid and I will say their practices of keeping everyone safe and providing superb customer service while maintaining upbeat attitudes were on point.
The appointment process is new due to covid 19 pandemic. It was a smooth process,, quick and sanitary. Polite staff who were able to answer all questions, they were very helpful.

I had my first Eye Exam in years, Went to visionworks in Cumberland Mall and I will honestly say for the most part the experience was really good. The Dr I had, cant remember his name but he was great. The young lady who prepped me was great also. The only problem I had was the female at the front door, I believe her name is Dabrina. She comes off as very Rude and Obnoxious. I recently came back yesterday and she was the exact same way. She reminds me of a person trying to demonstrate professionalism, but really doesnt know how. You could use some customer service training. Other than her, nice place...

Poor cutting quality. How did these get so poorly looked over by the staff prior to telling me they were ready?! Shows they could care less. Even the second attempt had a few minor uneven cuts. Just going to make do at this point. Customer service needs alot of work. Only 2 guys were the nicest. Wish I remembered their names. Should have stayed at Lenscrafters even if they only take a portion of my work insurance. I wont be back to Visionworks.

2021 Update:They won’t give you your prescription.I bought glasses from Warby Parker, and the staff at this vision works just refused to give them my UNEXPIRED prescription, so I had to call. I was placed on hold for 10 mins before remembering I saved the original papers. This reminded me that they didn’t list my PD on my prescription intentionally. I was told “we only give that if you’re ordering with us.” Ummmm I can measure it myself but how petty...A year later and still bad service so I don’t believe your apology!!!! First time at this Visionworks Office and it was outstanding! Ty was exceptionally helpful and informative. Every question I had, she answered and explained thoroughly. She reviewed all the options my insurance afforded me and gave me the choice of how I wanted to use those benefits, instead of pushing every little charge on me because of the benefits I had. I was truly impressed. Her daughter was there, and she was such a little beauty.Dr. Escobar was also great! Unlike some of the other Optometrists Ive seen in the past, she really took the time to explain my vision issues in a way laymans terms so I could understand thoroughly. She gave me recommendations for how to treat my dry eyes and redness, which, in all of my 57 years, have never had an Optometrist do, EVER! They even printed out my prescription, which again, other Optometrists havent done without my having to ask.Im imminently pleased I chose this Visionworks location. I highly recommend it!

I stopped in on a Sunday without my prescription, Duane the sales associate was helpful and knowledgeable. We were able to still put together a quote while not having my prescription. I left there knowing exactly where I stood towards the purchase of 3 new reasonably priced pairs of glasses. Returned the next day for exam was treated well by and because of the prior days information I was able to get in and out in no time. I was very pleased with the service and will strongly recommend to others.
Awful! Awful! Awful! Eveytime I come here its a scene. After waiting two weeks, I came to pick up glasses for my boys. Only one pair is there! Apparently, they didnt send the frame along with the prescription so only the lenses were at the store. I was asked if I had the frame....ummmmm....no! Why would I have the frame??!! I cannot cut lenses to put in a frame. Sorry! They went to the back and of course, my sons frame has been sitting for two weeks. Now I have to come back after they send it Kennesaw to get the lenses cut and placed into the frame. Third time is a charm. Never again with this place.
There was a very welcoming and professional climate in this VisionWorks office. Dr. Whitlatch explained all test results and answered my questions. He, nor any of the staff rushed through my appointment. I had no wait-time. Every staff member wore a mask; woo-hoo! I am particular about who evaluates and treats my health, to the point of driving 200 miles one way, on a regular basis. I am happy to say that VisionWorks at Cumberland is the best place for eye-care!

Horrible and pathetic service... Will not visit the store here after.Unfortunately Google doesnt allow negative ratings.I chose Visionworks by looking into their ratings and also they were one of the in-network service providers on my vision insurance.But experienced very horrible service while myself and my wife went there for her glasses as well as for the contacts. Wonder where the good ratings come from.I think the staff over there need to learn how important a customer is and how to be courteous with them. Ohh.. sorry.. they know courteousness.. but only while taking the order or payments.We placed an order for regular astigmatism contacts lens a month ago. Finally we were able to get it after multiple store visits and series of follow-up phone calls. Basically it took more than a month for us to get a regular astigmatism lens.No one in the store was interested to provide a valid reason for the delay. They were purposefully ignoring us infront of other customers and never wanted to talk to us while we were there to collect the contacts.Every time we visited the store for an update and whenever we made the call asking update, the staff used to say a manager will call us back. But lately we found that there is no such manager exists, hence we never got any call from that invisible person.However, we got the contacts finally. And Visionworks made sure that we will not visit any of their stores in future.
