This was my first time visiting and I absolutely loved it. It wasn’t overcrowded, they completed my exams in a timely manner, and they were reasonable.

Very professional and knowledgeable practice. They adhered to Covid-19 Safety protocols. Masks must be worn by everyone and I witnessed them cleaning equipment before I used them. I also like that they spaced out appointments and there were never more than 3 clients in the waiting room at a time. We also did not have to wait more than 15 minutes before being seen or addressed. The flow of patients moved efficiently. Dr. Sharma was courteous and spent the time going over all of my options. He also explained reasoning behind his suggestions. I left extremely satisfied with the service. This was my first time coming into this office and I believe I have found the perfect vision practice for my family.

I LOVE my eye doctor!Everyone in this office is wonderful, from the doctor to the front desk ladies to the nurses, to the lady who helped me choose my glasses. They are down to earth, funny as everything, and they remember my name.The only (small) negative is sometimes the doctor does recommend cleaners or contacts that I know he probably gets some sort of commission on, but thats part of how he stays in business, so its truly minor.I wouldnt go anywhere else. The treatment is truly 5 stars. LOVE THEM!

I did not have a good experience here at all. The staff is nice, but the whole visit I felt they were trying to sell me on extra bells and whistles that my insurance would not cover. The prescription they gave me at the end did not give me enough information to order glasses on my own. Frustrating!

Great experience. This happened to be my 4 year old daughters first trip to the eye doctor. Dr. Sharma was extremely caring as well as his staff. Ive made them our family doctor and will continue to use them. Their location is convenient.

Went to office to receive a measurement for contacts. Office told me I was to pay $200 which was not what my insurance company told me. Fortunately, We have great coverage so I never have paid an amount like that. When I questioned the technician told me that my own insurance carrier told me wrong because as both her and the doctor showed me that the pages they had printed had 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 pages. I was asked to wait in a waiting room that was so small and packed I felt uncomfortable . While waiting I pulled up my insurance carrier site and again saw that I was to pay only $20. When I was brought back into doctor office I told the doctor that before we got started I needed to have my insurance verified. I showed him my phone with information and doctor still proceeded without getting clarification. He finally had a front office staff member take a look and she blames me as if I had some supplemental insurance and that is why They did not have this information. All I know is I have insurance that covers this procedure and it is up to you all to find and code it right is what I told them. After talking with insurance company the limits were corrected and it even seemed like the insurance company was surprised they were explaining the amounts to the office by the way the admin was responding. Geez, I found it on my phone in a tight waiting room what were you all really looking for? I spent two hours in office - with doctor talking about previous doctor I had eye exam about 3 months prior, said doctor gave me the wrong prescription but the contacts I received are the same as the old prescription. Really not happy. I just bought one box to use and really don’t have the energy to go back. The 4 plus stars and an office on the south side and the feee parking took me there. I hope all others are getting the full use of their benefits over there.

This business was good up until now. I get a phone call about a $2 copay that was not asked for me to pay at my daughters visit. Months later I started getting a $2 bill that I honestly wasnt thinking about. I told them twice that I will come in and pay it but it slipped my mind. The bill collector/office assistant seemed a little upset when I told her that I will just pay the balance on my next visit but that was clearing unacceptable. She started going back and forth with me about the $2 that is now $6. After all that hoopla I told her I would mail it because I dont give out my card info over the phone. She wasnt too happy about that either. The next time a copay needs to be paid they should ask for it un front when sevices are rendered. I will not be using this eye doctor anymore.

My experience was just what I expected it to be. My mom is a patient of Dr. Sharma and quite naturally he takes great care of her, so when I began having problems reading certain prints on my computer and reading I knew it was time for a thorough eye exam. Southern Eye Specialists did just that, I was given a thorough exam and Dr. Sharma even when a little further with possible future eye problems. I was fitted with readers and I cant wait until my next visit. The staff is AWESOME!!!!! Doctors Sharma and Krantz (now retired) both take the time to address your eye needs, as well as, take time to just see how you are doing. The staff at Southern Eye Specialists, PC were very accommodating! They were able to see my wife and me at the same time! Dr. Sharma was very personable. On my initial visit to the office I enjoyed their service. But every visit and call Ive had with this office since then has been just out of line. The office staff is very rude and condescending. I ordered glasses over 7 weeks ago and still dont have them back I was told orders come back in 3 to 4 weeks. When I called to ask about my order I was met with attitude and rudeness. No empathy for the situation. I was told well we dont make the glasses. Also my daughters ordered glasses 2 wks after me and she received hers back in about 2 wks. But shes complaining about her prescription and shes never done that. So when I informed the office that her prescription may be too strong I was met with you just need to let her wear them longer. Not once saying well bring her in and the glasses to have the doctor check them. I will no longer be doing business with this office. Im not even going to worry about the glasses I ordered I will just go somewhere else where my time and business is appreciated and valued.

Every time I visit Southern Eye Specialist, I feel as if I have attended a mini-conference complete with entertainment. Dr. Sharma is so knowledgeble about the science behind his work and the lastest technological advances. He and his entire staff are professional, friendly, and patient - all skills required when I have to pick out new frames and today,we scored!!!!

Dr. Sharma is really nice! Hes super easy to talk to, thorough, personable and quick. My only concern was that I made an appointment and had to wait about 35 minutes before being seen. Also, when I walked in I was not greeted nor given instruction on what to ie. sign in. I seen a sign in sheet so I just signed in. I had to ask for new patient paperwork. I believe the lady in the front had to be new and was in the process of being trained. Because one of the other staff members was telling her everything she needed to say on the phone. It just was a little annoying because I think instead of having her at the front on the phone, they shouldve had someone else greeting patients and giving them instructions. But once I got to see the doctor, everything was excellent. My advice is to please make sure that training doesnt get in the way of customer service.Update:After my appointment I called and asked when I could come see glasses. I was tole all I needed to do was stop by during their office hours and I would be taken care of. This was not the case. I came during my lunch break, and was told that I could not look at glasses until the specialist finished up with 2 patients and I could wait for her. I was super confused because most eye care places let you look at the glasses and have them setup in their lobby. At this office they have the glasses set up by the examination room. I let the desk clerk know that I had to be to work, could she just take me back there or have the doctor take me back there. She simple said no the doctors busy. She didnt even try to see if he was occupied. I waited 15 minutes before I got up and left.The doctor here is golden his specialist is really nice too. But the front desk process and glasses process are terrible! I was made to feel like if I looked and tried on glasses that I was going to try and steal them. For these reasons, I decided to find another eye doctor who let you look at the frames without feeling like youre going to take items.My suggestion is to find front people with manners and come up with another alternative for your patients when it comes to looking for glasses. Because people do not have all day to wait to merely look at a pair of glasses.

I visited Southern Eye Specialists today for the first time. I made the appt with them because Dr. Kranz was my mothers optometrist for years, before her passing. I found out Dr. Kranz retired this year and my eyes were examined by Dr. Sharma. Dr. Sharma was great! He performed a very thorough eye exam, he was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. In addition, the staff (Mary and Shelly) were wonderful and knowledgeable, as well. I would recommend them to anyone who has been to those retail eyeglass stores- trust me, youll never go back. Thank you SES for a great experience.

Southern Eye seems to have a solid client base and has been in business for 50+ years. This fact alone should attest to providing customers with (at least) solid services. On this pretense, as well as a few positive online reviews, I decided to give SES a try. Ive never met or been seen by Dr. Kranz, but the customer care provided by Dr. Sharma during our visit was definitely lacking. He rushed my son through his appointment, failed to explain what he was doing or what was happening during the visit, and was very curt with his answers when I asked him questions about the type and style of glasses my son could get. Maybe Dr. Sharma is really good at getting patients in and out, or maybe they dont see a lot of clients that are children at SES, Im not sure. I know he had an opportunity to be more client-oriented during our visit and actually entertain our questions with real answers. He failed at that. Furthermore, I didnt appreciate his doctor knows best approach without the provision of information to support his claims. It was condescending.
