We tried this on a whim and have now found our favorite restaurant. The staff was kind to us even though we were late picking up the food (traffic + getting turned around), and the food itself is incredible. Like knock your socks off amazing. Plus, being celiac, it’s a nice treat to be able to order anything off the menu. I can’t wait for our next meal!
Mediterranea is amazing! I have Celiac and it’s a dedicated gluten free restaurant, with dairy free options too! Everything we’ve had is delicious and the service is great. My boyfriend is not gluten free but also loves it!
Food is excellent and their curbside pickup is easy and accurate. These folks really care about their customer service and quality of their food.
A celiac gluten free paradise but it’s also loved by the non-celiacs in our family. Quality ingredients and personalized service by Gerard and team. We feel welcome and included any time we visit. It’s a long drive for us and worth it.If you have celiac and are passing through Atlanta or the airport, add a couple of hours for a stopover there for sure.
The best gluten free food in atlanta and one of my favorite places period
Wonderful environment and super attentive service. The meals were crisp and enchanting. Will clearly recommend this spot to anyone. Affordable prices and generous portions. Keep up the great work.
Unfortunately, the food was too salty. The pecan pie was the best item in the menu.
Picked up a chocolate ganache cake with about an hours notice. Incredible quality and great service. Really can’t say enough good things. Cake was maybe the best I have had in Atlanta, gluten free or not.
Mediterranea has probably some of the best food in the city. For a restaurant that’s gluten free - the food is top notch, rivaling or besting “regular” places. Not sure how they do it but it is absolutely delicious. Try the Involtini, the feta tomato dish, and the steak. The drinks are superb and the bartenders / staff have a deep knowledge of liquors / cocktails as well as the food. Perfect!
Mediterranea is one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. They have a small menu where every option is a winner. Ive never had anything here that wasnt fantastic. The fact that the place is 100% gluten free moves it to the top of my list for celiacs like me!
As soon as you step foot in Mediterranea you feel at home! We went for Sunday brunch and ordered the root vegetable hash. It was DELISH! My wife and I also ordered the Hot Hot Hot Bloody Mary. Although it was not as spicy as I would have liked, I understand my taste buds tend to be less sensitive than others. Nonetheless, it was still a flavorful drink that I would highly recommend trying. As a vegetarian, it can be difficult finding restaurants that have more than just salad to choose from. Mediterranea provided ample options for the carnivore and herbivore, and of course those with a gluten intolerance.
Last minute gf birthday cake from there was delish. 10/10 recommend
Update - They are managing during COVID, its all delivery and takeout right now but the food remains amazing. Support local and eat here!! Hopefully their lovely indoor dining option will be back soon.Original Review:This restaurant is seriously amazing. I picked up baked goods one day, then brought colleagues for dinner another night and everything was delicious across the board. Pastries were yummy, dinner options were tasty (the risotto was delicious) and the bread pudding dessert for dinner WAS TO DIE FOR. I cant wait to go back to Atlanta just to eat here. I need this place because its all Gluten Free (all of it!!!!!) But the thing is....no one would know its all GF without looking up the website. Its delicious and you cant tell its GF! Also, the staff and owners/pastry chef are SO nice and easy to work with. I was trying to plan a catering event and it went awry on my end, but they were super helpful and great to work with. Thanks guys - Ill be back!!!!
I have been in Atlanta for 3 years and have yet to find a dish at the place that I dont love! From the pastries to the entrees to the custom orders, I absolutely love everything here! My favorites things so far are the babka, the chive scones, and the eggplant stack. 🤤🤤🤤
The food here is delicious. The service attentive and kind. I can only imagine that comes from good leadership. Love this place. Oh, and my husband has a gluten sensitivity and the entire menu caters to that. But youd never know. Its not something they flaunt. Its just a really good restaurant that happens to be #glutenfreefriendly.
Arrived at six, it was not packed. Looking forward to coming back with my coworkers. They have so many great reviews for a reason.
Was so, so, not impressed with food nor the service. The taste like its ment for animals. And staff service very laid back... they explained anything of the menu. They then went on to say it pretty self explainitory... smh.
Stopped in from traveling. Not very many places dedicated to gluten free so my husband (not gluten free) and I were grateful to find this restaurant. Not only does this place have great food, it has a comfortable environment. We had the orange marmalade cream cheese french toast, cheddar chive biscuit & herb chicken gravy, and cheesy polenta grits. They were all very good! The only down side was the gravy was cold (my husband ate most of the gravy and had some health issues a few hours later. Perhaps due to cold gravy or might have been due to other reasons.) The restaurant and restrooms were clean. I would stop and eat here again! I also got some bakery items to go. My niece liked the cherry pecan scone. I would suggest anyone handling any food not touch food product with hands/fingers after handling other things. I would like to believe and hope the situation was incidental or careless at the moment.
Fabulous food. Fabulous roof-top. Fabulous for dietary restrictions. We took my husband there for Fathers Day dinner and we all ate every last delicious morsel and left feeling well fed and very happy. Great service from knowledgeable staff. We will be back!
LOVE their gluten free baked goods. Cute lil place to grab brunch. The portions are a bit light, but the pastries and cocktails make up for it.
Great food! They are really great for someone who has food allergies. The whole place is gluten free. Many of their items can be made dairy free or vegan. The items they make are healthy and wholesome. The lemon blueberry cashew cheesecake is yummy! Their space is lovely. They have seating on their rooftop if you can manage stairs. The cook is able to make substitutions and work around food allergies. If you give them advance notice, they can do even more work around for people with food allergies. I love coming here and seeing whats on their menu!
A very enjoyable Saturday afternoon meal with friends, in a nice neighborhood venue in the Grant Park area. I loved the sun-dried tomato risotto, my wife had a perfectly cooked pan-roasted chicken, and one of our friends had the eggplant stack. It was all excellent, including the shared plate of spreads (you cant have enough stuff to dip bread into) and the turkey meatballs were tender and light. We had great service and loved the food. Many thanks from us.
Lovely but the wine pours put me off. My Cloudy Bay sparkle was a taster at $14. Food was awesome but the white bait app was soggy. The lamb rump was spectacular and the deconstructed caponata was great. Took a chance on dessert it took an hour but they comped the wine and was appreciated. But in all it was a 3 hour dinner.
So good. Great service. They gave us complimentary dessert to compensate for a very mild wait time.
I found out about this spot in the neighborhood a few months ago. I went for the first time 2 weeks ago and I have visited 3 times. I am not sure how new the location is but it’s quite great. In the middle of the neighborhood with a rooftop patio. The food is excellent with a well rounded cocktail and wine menu. It’s hard to find fresh, crafted, quality food in the city without the over load of branding/concepts/ and competition. So it’s a refreshing surprise.I enjoyed the rooftop atmosphere and over looking a park which is always nice. The menu has options for everyone, the servings are good if you order an app or a salad to go along with it.I do have to say I love their lunch and they have a nice easy selection.I give it four stars because I have never felt welcomed, the staff is kind and nice. However, I have personally felt that kind of service was not directed to me or my guest. I do think the staff can be very welcoming and warm to others so I hope everyone can receive this kind of service.
Nice staff, beautiful location and place, extremely price. The food is good. We order a casserole that was waaaaaaayyyyyy too much spicy. The drinks are medium, and I don’t feel like I would come back for their coffee. Anyways, you pay for the place. It is a nice place if you don’t care for good food.
I love their food! I stop and pick up their seared tuna grain bowl all the time and it’s always amazing. My Bf has another one of their bowls and it was also very tasty. Portions are small but that’s a ridiculous reason to give less stars when the food is so good!
Every Friday we go out to dinner every with friends. One of them is allergic to Gluten so finding a place that can fit all tastes and issues can be a challenge because most places only have a few items that have no gluten. And many places cook things together, like eggrolls in the same oil as the potatoes. Mediterránea specializes in Mediterranean food, all organic. Most choices are Vegan or Vegan friendly. Plenty of creative, gourmet choices. Everybody enjoyed the food. The service was prompt and professional without being intrusive. Decor is industrial-looking but elegant. We will be returning there.
This place is pretty darn serious. We wanted to taste as much on the menu as we could, so we ordered all their appetizers and two entrees to share for the table. It was an INCREDIBLE meal. They super nailed it. Did I say it is a lovely place? It’s a lovely place.
Food is good but a $250 dinner for 2 should not leave both of you hungry. The price is far from justifiable for the portion sizes. We left pretty disappointed.
The voltini is amazing. Fresh, crisp flavors with a hint of smokiness in the cheese. The service was awesome, especially given I showed up with a backpack and a plastic cup of tea because Id just come from the zoo. The music sets a lovely note, as well. The white Christmas lights on the wall were the only off element in a lovely dinner.
I had the green shakshuka. It seemed to me to be a fully southern interpretation of the dish I came to appreciate while in Israel. Other items seemed like a gourmet southern take on Mediterranean classics, which was wonderful. Very vegetarian friendly. Original recipes. Fresh food that is very well prepared. Love the interior with the exposed brick and preserved exterior wall. Great service.
Everything is amazing here. Food, wine, ambiance, wait staff. All A+
The food and ambience were perfection! Portions were just like the restaurants names, Mediterranean and delicious. It was amazing being able to bring a celiac friend here and have her be able to eat anything on the menu. I highly recommend this place for gluten free, vegetarians and meat eaters alike!
Awesome restaurant! Super cool rooftop seating area. Located in a quaint part of Grant Park. The banana pudding dessert was exceptional. Would definitely recommend this place and will come back!
My husband and I had a beautiful dining experience. The service was nothing short of excellent and the meals were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I picked up a few items to go from the bakery, too. I was not disappointed. Having celiac disease, it was very comforting to freely order anything from the entire menu! Their kitchen is certified gluten free by The Gluten Intolerance Group.
The brunch is fantastic the biscuits and gravy are very good especially for gluten-free folks that never get to eat such things. The Mediterranean breakfast is also good, and there is a very nice park across the street. If I attend again I hope to sit on the rooftop patio; it looks very nice.
A favorite for me and my kids to grab a treat from the bakery and eat on the roof. Also great for a nice date with my wife in the evenings. Ive grabbed coffee and baked goods for a couple meetings with my team too. Its a great neighborhood spot. Everything is gluten free (which I value b/c I cant eat wheat), but you wouldnt know it otherwise. The food is delicious.
Such a lovely neighborhood gem. Tasty Mediterranean flair. The Shrimp were perfectly cooked and sweet. Great cocktails, friendly attentive wait staff. Ill definitely go back.
Wonderful atmosphere, delicious selections, helpful and friendly staff. I hope Mediterranea stays in the neighborhood for a long time!I had the beet risotto with mustard greens, and loved every bite. There are a ton of vegan and vegetarian options that everyone can enjoy. They definitely dont sacrifice taste to meet their ingredient goals (Gluten free, vegan, etc).
What a great restaurant, especially if you have dietary restrictions. The food, drinks and coffee were all very good!
Cute restaurant with a great menu: fresh, simple, and local. It has a comfortable vibe, customers and patrons seem to know one another well, and service was very good. I have only had brunch, which was delicious. Looking forward to trying their lunch menu next.
The food is very yummy. However, for what the dishes are, the prices are QUITE steep. My favorite salad is $11, but I leave hungry (the white bean croquette salad, it is delicious). The food should be a bit more substantial for the prices.
Tasty food, great service, good location. Recommend.
The place really reminds me of Europe, the food is tasty and the prices are fair!
Great food! Awesome roof-top space! And the staff amazing!
Met friends for lunch at this charming little restaurant in Grant Park serving gluten free food. Tasty and nicely prepared. Good, really good coffee. Lovely server. Nice people.
Love this local place in Grant Park! They source many of their ingredients locally and even partner with a neighborhood farm for fresh veggies. Lots of healthy and delicious options. Located in an old brick building with a rooftop overlooking a park.
Warm atmosphere, friendly service and delicious, healthy food for your gluten free, omnivore and vegan friends alike! Love this place!
Always stop at Mediterranea when Im in Atlanta. And Im not even gluten-conscious! The food is supremely delicious and fresh. The bakery is complementary to the restaurant and vice-versa. Truly, a wonderful place for a date or dinner with friends, either in the cozy dining area or on a nice evening on the roof.
The food here is consistently great and healthy enough that you don’t feel too full after a hearty meal. The service is great as well. I would highly recommend checking this place out.
What a great little place for a quick lunch! I understand they also serve a good brunch and have an upstairs patio open in the evenings. The menu is short, but everthing we ordered was delicious!
Ate here with my boyfriend and parents on the rooftop terrace. Its beautiful up there! And the food was amazing.
My wife has celiac and it is so hard to find places that have menu items for her. This place is gluten free. Period. The dinner was delicious. Highly recommended.
Loved that everything is GF so no worries about who cant eat what. The food was fantastic and came out less than 15 minutes after our order, though the food did beat our espresso drinks to the table. The space is cozy and the windows make it feel bright. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a low-key but delicious brunch spot, regardless of if you need to eat GF.
Having a gluten free menu is a BLESSING! When we are near, it is definitely a stop for us. The rooftop dining, food, and staff were EXCELLENT. Thank you so much #1forus
I didnt know anything about this place before and I had lunch here with a colleague on his suggestion. I was expecting a Greek-Lebanese restaurant from the name but turns out they offer healthy Meditarrenean style food instead. I had chicken tacos and I liked how fresh and delicious it was. They also offer scones, muffins and desserts with healthy ingredients. Inside was simple yet super clean with Meditarrenean style ambiance.
Im very disappointed with the service. First we got a weird look for bringing my 3 year old. And the waitress wasnt very helpful or nice. Also their portions for dinner are really small and when we asked for hummus shes like Im sorry but you have to pay, Oh and if you want more bread you also have to pay extra? Really? We spend 150.00 and we couldnt get hummus or bread unless we paid extra? Im sorry but their food and service was wasnt 150.00.
Best restaurant in Grant Park. All gluten free! Small portions but super yummy!
Omg I love the environment and the gluten free options are amazing and taste great I love it ! I can wait to come back for more !!!!to try more❤️❤️
This restaurant is wonderful. Everyone is so friendly! The food is different and interesting and very healthy and delicious! I would simply say, Go soon.
Can finally eat gluten free food without fear and things that you cant get anywhere else like focaccia, scones, bread pudding, and crepes, its amazing. I went back the following weekend because it was so great. I have a severe gluten allergy and have never gotten sick there. I met the owner too and we discussed gluten free living, clearly a dedicated and knowledgeable owner.
The entire restaurant is GLUTEN-FREE which is incredible for people with intolerance or celiac disease. No need to worry about an cross contamination which I love. The lemon-blueberry vegan cheese cake is to DIE FOR. Definitely glad this spot is right in my neighborhood.
All of the food we had was delicious and fresh. One of the best places we’ve eaten at in Atlanta!
Every single dish was delicious. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, if a little busy. Its lovely to sit inside or on the rooftop patio.
Really welcome addition to the neighborhood. Fresh, interesting menu that focuses on gluten free and vegetarian options- heaven for people like me! If you dont need vegetarian, there are other options too. The baked goods are delightful and you wont even miss the gluten. Very excited about their brunch.
Great location. Fresh, creative plates. Go on a warm evening and sit out on the second level overlooking Grant Park
Absolutely amazing lemon cake! Everything is gluten free and is so yummy. Awesome space and ambience and really cool outdoor deck!
We have been here a number of times and Ive been increasingly disappointed. Tonight was no better. I ordered the vegetable plate with was overcooked, underseasoned and boring . Same with my partners dish . The dessert was the same - unsubtle and decent if coming from my aunts kitchen but not restaurant-worthy. I would chalk it up to an off night or poor menu selection but at this point Ive had most things on their menu -- it has not changed much in the year + since they have been open ( another disappointment .. how can you not change with the season?) And all have merited the same review. I might be back for brunch but not for dinner
This is what intown living is all about. A fantastic eatery right in the middle of a beautiful historic area in Grant Park. It is located on the corner of grant st and Ormond st in an old 1920s trolley car stop building and right across the street from Ormond-Grant Park.Wonderful breakfast items, great coffee, and a very knowledgeable and friendly staff.Dinner is served Wednesday through Saturday and brunch is served Saturday and Sunday. Both the dinner and brunch menus have some delicious offerings and oh by the way you would never know it but everything in the restaurant with the exception of a couple of beer selections is certified gluten free!If youre in the area in the mornings and need to meet a client or a friend or just need a place to have a delicious muffin, quiche, coffee, tea and work on your computer you will love this place. Breakfast is from 7 am to 1pm. I live close by and stop in several times a week for coffee and a breakfast item or two and everything Ive had so far has been delicious.
Love this place!!! Such a cute neighborhood bistro, very down to earth so delicious!!! From the Mediterranean Sea Bass to Scallops to Hangar Steak with Frites!!! All of it is melt in your mouth savory deliciousness. Their wine selection is top notch and very reasonable. Highly recommend!!! Also many GF/vegan/vegetarian options as well!
Delicious food! Great service! Fun atmosphere!
Cute restaurant with a great neighborhood feel. Not enough serving staff on duty on my visit and the order was a little messed up but I enjoyed the brussel sprouts and potatoes. They were delicious. I would visit again and maybe try dessert.
We are visiting from Arizona...and what a lovely surprise to find such a wonderful Mediterreane restaurant last night. The salmon dinner was fabulous, banana creme pudding the best and the owner, Gerard, was so kind and helpful with our Uber difficulties. Thanks
Great vegetarian options and great atmosphere, even at the bar. We decided to try just vegetables tonight and were very happy. Eggplant stack is a delicious vegetarian or vegan option, with garlic rapini. The market vegetable plate came with the rapini, warm al dente white beans and chick peas mixed with tomatoes and spices, and haricot verts. The raddicchio salad was a delicious starter, with pine nuts and cured olives. The menu changes each season, but I hope we get back for the eggplant stack before its gone. Its difficult to find restaurants that know how to do vegetables well, but they made a spectacular meal.
What a treat to dine upstairs on the roof among the trees on a quiet street in one of Atlantas best old neighborhoods! The food was good, the staff were friendly and the menu offered plenty of choice at reasonable prices. I cant believe we had never heard of this place. We will be back for sure!
Great food and atmosphere. Portions are plentiful and flavors are rich. Menu lacks an anchor menu item (no steak, pork, or fish). Still very good though.
Gluten free fruitcake was excellent.Service was excellent. He opened the door to let me in to pick it up. Beautiful experience!
Amazing meal! So many great choices on the menu. I love Cabernet Sauvignon but theirs wasnt great. Next time Ill try a new red. We will be back!
Excellent place for your morning coffee as well as a night out. Love how fresh every dish is, and the wine isnt too bad either!
Really love this place! You would never even know that its gluten free. Go and heartily enjoy everything on the menu. Dont forget the beautiful rooftop patio for alfresco dining in good weather!
Love the healthy dose of gluten free and vegan options! Plus terrific service
