Customer service A1! Informational, friendly and patient. The 2 guys upfront are working well together and if theres a line its gone in a blink! I had a mango, banana, spinach smoothie very refreshing a little to sweet for me but Ill drink 2 bottles of water behind it lol! I also had the breakfast burrito wrapped perfectly with a little crisp outside they stayed that way until the last bite. The ingredients were fresh and so yummy! Because Im fluffy I also got somethings for the long weekend. Lemon ginger scone, banana bread that was mark down since it was a day old but it smells, looks and feels fresh ohhh and jalapeno cheese bagel that Ill pair with some egg and spinach cream cheese in the AM. This was a perfect first experience. I love lattes so Ill be back during my latte hours soon!

Had a fantastic oat milk latte here this morning. Extensive coffee selection from Nicaragua, lots of espresso drinks, tea drinks, and a nice breakfast and lunch menu. Super friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend. Only wish they had a few comfy chairs to hang out in in addition to their tables and chairs. Outdoor seating available which is great on a nice day. Great community coffee place with a chill vibe.

The story of this coffee shop is truly special - and the coffee and almond croissants are fantastic too! They have a direct relationship with a single farm in Nicaragua where they source their coffee beans. You can even see the entire process documented on the wall (see picture)! This is a coffee-geek destination, the true embodiment of farm-to-cup. Plus wine, tea, beer, and breakfast sandwiches and borritos!Parking is tight but welcome to Atlanta. Its a short walk from the Jimmy Carter Library, which has plenty of parking.

Java Vino is my favorite coffee shop in Atlanta, not just because the coffee is good (which it is), but also because of what they represent. The shop serves coffee of its own as well as coffee from small sustainable shops around the country. Java Vinos own coffee is grown sustainably in Nicaragua on a farm that the family owns. They go out of their way to provide education and housing to the locals working on the farm. They roast their coffee in Atlanta, and serve it to you in their shops. You can buy whole bean or ground, single origin or blends, to take home - as an espresso fan, the Ponce de Espresso blend is my favorite. They also have monthly wine tasting nights that are a combination of wine tasting and history/culture lessons. They are a great opportunity to make friends if youre new in town. This place is such a beacon in the community to me, that Im just happy to partake in what they offer. Good people doing good work, and you should support them!

Pre-pandemic, this place was great, and at the start of it they seemed pretty on top of their game with precautions while opening back up. In the past couple of months, theyve become much more lax. Employees will carry on conversations with customers without masks while preparing others food, they allow people inside without masks, at some points their employees are sporting unenclosed face shields or nothing at all, etc.Its a bummer, but ultimately a major factor. Nearby places like Aurora & Hodepodge are much more mindful of safety right now.

Great small coffee shop. I ordered a green tea, the tea used was a good quality, not something cheap. The atmosphere is relaxing, inside is a nice place to sit quietly and either read or work without distractions. There is also an outdoor patio. This is my all time favorite coffee shop. Atlanta is my hometown. But Ive moved. But every time I come home, I have to visit and get the chocolate bread pudding. Warning: it is super rich, but worth the calories. Lol The name pretty much says it all...they have great wine and coffees. Not the run-of-the-mill coffee stop. The only thing is its pretty cozy. So, its best to catch off peak hours. Still ... I highly recommend a visit.Oh...and Im not sure if they still do this, but they have a smaller bistro area in the basement and loft above that they rent out for events. One of my favorite places to study during the weekdays. It’s far enough away from Tech and Emory that it’s not packed but close enough to both to be convenient. Plenty of parking. There is a small lot behind the building but during the day people park in the lot next door for Marlows tavern with no problems. Great coffee and good choice for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. One of the few coffee shops that still has decent prices. Also has the best music. It’s crowded and a little louder on the weekends but I’ve never had a problem getting a seat. One of my favorite coffee shops in Atlanta.

The coffee and food are not my personal favorite, but they do have tolerable cookies. What really limits my excitement about JavaVino is its unreliable service: maybe youll get your coffee; maybe youll get a whole banana for a fruit salad; maybe your order will go MIA in the kitchen. Frankly, Ive not had such a disgusting experience in a coffee shop as I did today. Alex and Ari were working and they were terrible and NOT what I have ever experienced at Java Vino ever. They apparently have either had a lapse in judgement allowing these 2 to run shop on a Saturday or they are experiencing a terrible decline in qualified applicants. Either way, I wasnt aware it took a genius to scramble eggs. I ordered a breakfast sandwich that 1. Eggs werent scrambled 2. The eggs were not cooked 3. It took 20 minutes to even receive. After receiving, and noticing this was a bit awry, I politely asked for a new sandwich as IM PREGNANT and cant eat uncooked eggs. Well 10 minutes later I re-received a microwaved and chopped up old sandwich. Pretty unsanitary if you ask me. After declining a third try, who knows what I would have received, the cook came out to argue with me that it was the cheese that was runny.....seriously? Im quite aware of what the color differentiation between cheddar, albumin, and yolk are...but THANKS. So, needless to say, I will now be choosing highland bakery as my breakfast go to. Id happily pay a higher fee for friendly, competent staff and properly cooked food. Thanks for a few good years, java vino. But this experience has me moving on!ROBYN STEWART

I like this little coffee shop and wine house, it, definitely feels like a local spot where you might see repeat customers. Ive only been here twice but Ive enjoyed my coffee and meal on both occasions but I have to say the service is not consistent. Its not bad, its just mediocre. The baristas can make a killer cup of coffee though. As the name suggests they offer coffee and wine, they host monthly wine events/ tastings. I need to check out their website for the next scheduled tasting. The shop is located on busy N Highlands Ave between Freedom Pkwy and North Ave. They offer free parking directly behind their building which is always a plus in the city. Its a very cozy shop with a few places to sit inside and they offer patio seating also in the front.Ive had their top seller Bee Sting: Espresso, honey, vanilla and steamed milk topped with frothed milk ($4.50 12oz). After one sip I instantly knew why this was a hit. Its just the right amount of honey and the coffee is perfect. Maybe its because JavaVino roasts all their own coffee, the house coffee and many of the blends come from their very own coffee farm, Selva Negra Coffee Estate, in Nicaragua. Ive also tried the Dancing Cuban: chai, cinnamon, gingerbread and espresso ($4 8oz). 5 star drink that is absolutely delicious and smooth. My veggie friends you can find lots of vegan pastries in the case for purchase.
