I had such an amazing experience today at The Sentimentalist. As soon as we entered, we were greeted immediately, offered beverages and shown to our private fitting area, which was gorgeous!!!! Hannah was the one that helped us today and she was absolutely amazing! I told her the style of my wedding and the types of dresses I was looking for and she brought out the perfect dresses for me. I tried on and loved dresses I didn’t even think I would be into! She had great input, was super efficient and helped me with the fitting of each dress. Such a great experience!!! Thank you so much!!!!

The Sentimentalist is a truly beautiful bridal experience. I will absolutely recommend it to all my future bride amigas with unique style and non traditional vision. THE ONLY REASON I did not get my dress here was due to scheduling, as my wedding date was pushed up from next year to this December. But I could not let time pass without singing this place’s praises.Phae was an absolute doll. She’s got perfect attention to vibe and detail. She made my first experience bridal shopping a truly unforgettable one in that I felt nothing less than a personal friend to her. She was so observant and a great listener. This is so rare in today’s time especially with Covid Restrictions. The whole setting at The Sentimentalist is so beautiful.They have all kinds of styles and even have selective options of customizing the color of your bridal gown for those of outgoing, adventurous gals who like to veer from traditional details of weddings. I could not imagine having purchased my wedding dress from anywhere but The Sentimentalist. I was shopping and planning through the pandemic and they were always on top of safety protocols. I felt so welcomed and safe, plus I was elated how helpful Hannah was, including assisting in FaceTiming guests while I was trying on dresses. As a woman who has worked in the wedding industry for many years, I have always imagined how I wanted my wedding to go. So, when it came time to find my wedding dress I was a little nervous, as I have seen many wedding dresses and they all seemed the same to me. All lace, mermaid, and ball gown dresses. I wanted something different, something different to my eyes. The Sentimentalist gave me exactly what I was looking for! So many different selections and AMAZING customer service! I love everything they are about and how they conduct their busy. When they say low pressure they mean it, so relaxing and they are truly on the bride’s side! All I can say is that I’m truly grateful for the experience they gave me and my family, and helping me find my beautiful wedding dress.

After shopping at several locations I made an appointment here primarily because they had vintage dresses. Rhiannon was AWESOME. It was the bridal experience that I had been imagining in my head. She helped me find the perfect vintage dress (I attached some pics to the review), the perfect veil to match and set me up with an amazing seamstress that specialized in vintage gowns. I wasnt treated like I was 2nd rate just because I was shopping for a gown that was less expensive like other stores Id been to. If you want an excellent experience GO HERE. They wont disappoint. Also, their shop is super cute. :)

Yes, I am giving this place a 5 star even though I didnt find my dress here because the women who run this place are delightful. There dresses are off-the-beaten-path and the vibes are too die for! It’s incredible how at-home this shop makes you feel. Their genuine attention to detail, and time spent chatting about style likes/dislikes/wedding plans and getting to know you are beyond comforting. Hannah was my stylist and she walked me through each rack, spent time choosing options she thought I would love, figuring it out with me. She chose a dress “different” than what I thought I was looking for.. assured me it wouldn’t hurt her feelings if I said no, but encouraged me to try it... and at the end, that was the one for me! It was perfect. I loved my experience here so much. And I can’t wait to wear my dress at my wedding day.

We were lucky to have Hannah helping us yesterday with my daughters wedding dress shopping. She knew exactly what my daughter wanted and pulled the perfect dresses immediately. She was so creative with putting together a stylish but customized look for my daughter and we were all thrilled! The overall process during COVID time felt clean and safe but was still special and will be memorable. I was so impressed that she found THE DRESS after trying on only 8! We even cancelled reservations at other boutiques for the weekend since it was such a success! We started here because of its good reputation and that was a really good move! Let me start by saying folks are looking for different kinds of experiences when they are searching for a wedding dress. Some people like the chaos of a big corporate-run gig, and thats fine, but I personally wanted to support a local place that creates a different experience- a curated experience.I visited 3 other bridal shops before making an appointment at The Sentimentalist, so I had somewhat narrowed down the type of dress that I liked. I wanted something minimalist & unique. The previous shopping trips to other salons were very hectic, and I felt extremely rushed, which was especially stressful and difficult for me, because I am pregnant!The Sentimentalist was different. The experience was calm & our guide, Rachael, was extremely patient and chill. She spent time and effort adjusting the samples just perfectly so that I could actually tell how each dress would look as a final product rather than just clipping it on and rushing along to the next dress. In addition, we discussed options for designer alterations that could be made to each one, for example, changing the shade/fabric of a dress or combining different tops & bottoms from a designer a la build a dress.I had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend The Sentimentalist and Rachael.

LOVED my experience at the sentimentalist. Phae knew exactly what I was looking for and pulled so many amazing dresses, never tried to pressure me if I didn’t like something, and has been able to help through a customization process. She helped me pivot when the dress I came in thinking I wanted turned out not to be the one. The shop is so cute, and I found my dream dress. They made my mom and grandma feel so welcome as well, even with COVID, and served the champagne we brought for us. Honestly my only regret is that I’m marrying the love of my life so I won’t be able to buy anymore wedding dresses here!

So appreciative of the personal attention given to my daughter as she shopped for, chose, and received her wedding gown! The staff was friendly, caring and helped us with choices all while hosting us in a safe, clean, and fabulous salon!

I cannot recommend the Sentimentalist enough! The store and dress selection are creative and eclectic for a bride that wants the look of something unique not just anything off the rack. I was so lucky to have a wonderful stylist who helped me find a dress I never would have picked from a trunk sale. After thinking about it for a few days I went back and was lucky enough to be paired up with the owner Gabi and wow she made my dreams come true! She talked me through any issues, pulled lace samples and even spoke with the dress designer during my appointment to help me make a one of a kind and amazing dress! We ended up making a fully custom dress and even with all the changes it was under $2000! I couldnt be happier and the whole process was easy and felt pressure free!

I cant say enough great things about this place. They pay attention to the brides requests and are so willing to contact designers to make changes to any dress to allow your dream dress to become a reality. They have so many unique and one of a kind gowns and I highly recommend them!

I had the most amazing experience here this past Saturday! I dont typically write reviews but I had to because of just how wonderful my experience was!Back story:My mom and 2 bridesmaids flew into town only for this day, to go dress shopping. So of course we had a packed schedule. We first went to a bigger bridal shop down the road and I felt very overwhelmed and pushed into buying a dress that I did not think was the one. We rushed out of that bridal shop extremely stressed and discouraged by the sales tactics. My first dress shopping experience of the day made me very nervous for the rest of my appointments.Atmosphere:We walked into The Sentimentalist and I immediately felt calm. They had sage burning, adorable furniture and jewelry, and even mimosas at the entrance! We were pleasantly greeted. There even were a few people who did not have appointments who came in. I appreciated that they didnt really let them browse because it really added to the atmosphere of having your stylists full attention.Layout:They had a small vintage section over by the jewelry, a sample section by one of the try on areas and the to order gowns in the center.I believe there were 4 fitting room sections. They had a large fitting room and a large lounge area to come out and view. My bridesmaids, mom and I felt like I were the only people in the store!Experience:We met with our amazing stylist, Rachel and we talked for a bit. We discussed what my style had been via our emails for a bit and if anything had changed. I really liked this because at the previous place we visited they acted like I had not given them any information. This made me much more trust worthy that Rachel was going to find what I wanted. Before the appointment we realized my style of what I wanted had actually changed and she just rolled with the punches.Sure enough the first dress I tried on was THE ONE! We tried a few others on and decided to go back to the first. Rachel did a wonderful job of listening to my mom and my bridesmaids as they tend to know what Im looking for more than me! She found the perfect accent pieces to really pull out the beauty of the dress.The purchasing experience was very smooth with one of the owners, Krista. She reviewed everything with us and answered any questions we had. She had an extremely calm and kind demeanor.I had WANTED to find my dress here, this place just does such an amazing job of giving each person an individualized experience.Overall, I found the perfect dress. Not only is the dress beautiful, I feel beautiful in it!! Thank you for such an amazing experience.

Im already excited to go back to pick up my dress.Since purchasing my dress, their follow up and communication has also been excellent, letting me know what to expect, who to contact if there is an issue and providing a timeline of production. I havent had a single question because they have been so thorough in their explanations.If you find wedding dress shopping stressful or overwhelming like I did, make an appointment - immediately! You will not regret it.

I cannot give enough praise to Hannah! On the day we came in I had two earlier dress appointments that resulted with no dress and feeling overwhelmingly defeated. Another shop suggested we pop in to see what dresses they had (if they would fit what I was looking for) and to make an appointment for another day. It was a busy Saturday afternoon, but they were gracious enough to squeeze me in! Hannah pulled a number of dresses (that were EXACTLY what I had described and was looking for!) and we got to trying them on. She was so kind, personable, and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I loved chatting with her throughout the process (I felt like we were long time friends), and she was so great at asking the right questions to help me find the right dress. After trying on a number of dresses WE FOUND THE ONE! She was so patient throughout the process and even brought me numerous styles and lengths of veils to try. She explained the alternations Ill needed, offered to be of assistance at any point, and went the extra mile to try to track down extra buttons from my dress designer! I am so happy we came in that day and were lucky enough to get Hannah. It was such a great ending to our day of dress shopping and I owe it all to Hannah. I dont normally write reviews, but I was so blown away by The Sentimentalist that I feel like I need to! Everything in this shop is gorgeous, the dresses, the accessories, the decor, the vibe. My stylist Hannah was nothing but supportive, enthusiatic, and helpful. She was really great at helping me pick out which parts of dresses I liked (and didnt like), which ultimately made me feel very confident in the dress I chose. I never felt rushed or pressured, and communication about the whole process was very clear. They also had a wider variety of sample sizes than I experienced at other shops. Thank you for a magical experience!

The second we walked into the open and warm shop, we were greeted by two sweet and trendy ladies. They offered us water and mimosas right away. The vintage vibe was strong with decor and we could browse cool accessories while we waited! We’d just left a dreadful appointment at Bridals by Lori and my spirits were down, but at The Sentimentalist, they went out of their way to make us feel special! Rachael was exceptional at picking options, listening to me, and disappearing when we had a private moment with family. Then, she’d reappear with the perfect accessory just when we needed her too. She was incredibly kind and a cool chic! It wasn’t pretentious at all, it was laid back! All the staff were so awesome. Definitely recommend and they’ve definitely achieved that antique feeling in dresses and in service. I truly felt like the customer came first and I’m absolutely thrilled I was able to find my dress here!! I still get the fizzy and fuzzy feeling every time I think about the experience :)!

My experience at The Sentimentalist was nothing short of incredible. Walking in, I was hit in the face with the beautiful design and incredible color palette of the space. The gowns were draped beautifully on the show room floor, and I was escorted by my stylist to a private waiting area with a huge floor to ceiling mirror and the coolest vintage inspired furniture pieces. Rachael was my stylist, and she made my entire experience so wonderful. She picked pieces for me based on what I told her I was looking for, and then she pulled some items that she thought would look dope on me. I liked everything I tried on, but ultimately I fell in love with one ensemble and she and I both agreed it was the winner. I came by myself to my appointment, and Rachael made me feel like I came with my best friend. I am so grateful that as a last minute bride, The Sentimentalist was so accommodating, welcoming, positive, and supportive. If you are looking for your dream gown, go here FIRST.

Hands down the best experience wedding dress shopping. I went to 3 other stores, 1 other right before The Sentimentalist but my appointment at The Sentimentalist was the one I was looking forward to the most. It was opening weekend at their new shop and I was so excited after seeing all their updates on social media.I am not the typical bride looking for the typical dress and that was what led me to The Sentimentalist. Before I even scheduled the appointment, when I initially reached out- they asked a few questions about what I was looking for etc. Neither of the other shops I went to did that.I went with my mom and future mother in law. I didnt even know if I would leave with purchasing a dress. My first appointment that day had left me disappointed and I was hoping The Sentimentalist would be different, and it so was. As soon as my future mother in law walked in and saw the dresses she looked at me and said this place was made for you.My consultant was Rachel and she was everything. Super laid back but VERY good at her job. I had little must haves in my list except sleeves. She helped us find dresses that had sleeves, could have sleeves, or would look good with capes. The selection is tasteful, unique and exquisite. I found many dresses I wouldve loved and actually almost settled on one until Rachel came out of nowhere with one that none of us picked out and it ended up being THE ONE.The ordering process was easy, and exciting and even though we were there past closing and my mom wanted pictures of everything no one seemed mind. It was an amazing experience and I would recommend this shop to everyone.Also, Side-note. I am a size 12 in dresses. Which in bridal sizing is something else. At the other stores I went to I had a hard time getting into samples. Some dress I was told wouldnt fit me. Its really hard to imagine a dress on you when it barely fits. I did NOT have this issue here. The samples may not have been my size but they fit enough to get a mental picture of what the dress might look like when its actually in my size.

This shop is amazing for brides looking for modern textures and styles, while being handmaid and great quality. HUGE selection, and the staff was so helpful and kind and directive as to which dress I should choose. I had narrowed it down to 4 dresses, it was THAT hard to make a choice. I said yes to the most beautiful gown I couldve ever imagined. Customer service was great, and they go above and beyond in helping you find the one.

I spent an entire day shopping for wedding dresses with my Mom, Grandma, and Aunt (we all live out of town!) and specifically saved the Sentimentalist for last because I KNEW they would have what I wanted! First, their website is EXPLICIT about who they are, which designers they carry, what their price range is, what styles they prefer, etc. They have a lot of dreamy, romantic, vintage-y dresses that fit my style perfectly. If I didnt know from the website that this was the place I would find my dress, seeing the vintage wedding photos on the walls, the old trunk in the corner filled with furs, and the immense attention to detail this store provides to their fitting rooms was pretty much enough to tell me I was in the right place. THEN, Rachel came along. She actually listened to what I wanted, was honest about prices, and did so many little things throughout my appointment to help me find MY dress. She even put my hair in an up-do for me, complete with bobby pins and all! What am AMAZING stylist. I wound up purchasing a beautiful Laudae dress that Rachel helped me customize! Her ability to nail down what I was looking for in a dress (texture- who knew!) and vision for what was possible with a dress I loved made the whole experience wonderful. I absolutely cannot WAIT for it to come in a few months! If you are a bride looking for a unique dress with a bit of whimsy or romance, you MUST try this place. They truly know what they are doing and are artists at their work!

I HIGHLY recommend The Sentimentalist. I searched and searched for the perfect shop and found it two states away--it was worth the drive. The ladies were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I just picked up my wedding dress from the alterations shop last night and my dress of flawless! The sentimentalist took what could’ve been a bad experience and went above and beyond to make it right...My dress came in a month late and THE WRONG COLOR (admittedly, I might not have noticed- i ordered it in off white and it came in ivory..) but they called me immediately, apologized profusely and then said they’d make it right. They rushed the dress back to the designer to fix the color and then COVERED ALL ALTERATIONS COSTS including rush fees. They sent me to Gizzle Couture where their team basically had to reveal an entire bodice in a month. It came out beautifully and I didn’t have to stress once.Long story to say, The Sentimentalist takes care of their customers and takes pride in their selection. Highly recommend.

My style tends toward more classic (as in, I love timeless looks), but I want to be comfortable--Caitlin was ready with dresses that all made me smile, and one that took my breath away. Trying on dresses at the Sentimentalist was a dream. I went to a LOT of places-- 9 or so-- and tried on many, many dresses. The Sentimentalist and one other place were my favorites. I knew what I liked and what I didnt, but I didnt have a clear vision on what Id end up with. I just hoped Id end up with something unique and not incredibly heavy and stiff. The Sentimentalist was full of different designers that had a delicate, vintage-y look, and it was so much fun to try on these dresses in their little house that is artsy and full of character. I found both my belt and dress at the Sentimentalist and wish they had regular clothing vs just wedding attire, so Id have a reason to go back!

Rhiannon took the best care of me and brought me dress after dress until we found the perfect one! We were actually stuck between two beautiful dresses and they were so patient and kind. They let me try every accessory in the salon. Could not be more happy with my experience!

The girls at the sentimentalist are the BEST! Me and my twin sister both got our dresses from here and we are all the way from KY. Caitlin helped both of us and we couldnt imagine it going any different. Everyone needs this type of experience!!

The Sentimentalist, specifically my stylist Rhiannon, made the experience of trying on wedding dresses one of the most uplifting, empowering, and relaxing shopping experiences I have ever had. I came into the salon with my mom to simply get an idea of what style of dress I like, and made it very clear we would not be buying a dress that day. I was very nervous about feeling pressured to make a decision and walk out with a dress, but my fears were for naught - Rhiannon immediately understood my sense of style and helped guide me toward dresses she knew I would love without being pushy or overreaching in the slightest. She helped me into and out of every single dress, and was available, courteous, and helpful during the entire appointment. All of the dresses I tried on were beautiful, well made, and COMFORTABLE! Rhiannon knew literally every detail about every single dress, the colors it came in, the price, etc. I was able to narrow it down to 3 dresses that I felt absolutely beautiful in, and we have already made an appointment to come back with my MOH in a few months to make the final decision.We had 2 other bridal salon appointments booked, and I canceled them within minutes of leaving The Sentimentalist - thats how great this place and my girl Rhiannon were. The glowing reviews about this salon are spot on. The Sentimentalist is a true gem of the Atlanta bridal scene!

Visited the Sentimentalist after an exhausting search; the atmosphere and respectfulness of the women there put me at ease, in what otherwise can be a stressful shopping experience. They were very thoughtful about my tastes and budget. Cannot recommend their customer service enough. Thank yall!

My first impression of this intimate little shop were great. Very quaint, gorgeous gowns, all around inviting atmosphere. Thats where my praise ends though.My appointment started off well but ended with me feeling like I had wasted someones time. They couldnt get me out of there quick enough. My consultant seemed displeased that I would not be purchasing my gown that afternoon, she told me that I was dress shopping WAY too early (Im a military wife and I have to plan my wedding out of state because were going to change stations soon) and refused to make eye contact with me?!I cant begin to tell you how much this baffled me, I just felt so berated. And when I emailed the manager about my experience she literally saidHi Danielle,Were sorry to hear you didnt enjoy your consultation.Best of luck on your dress search.Gabi LeeNo, youre not sorry, and you dont care that youve lost a customer. This is some of the worst customer service I have ever received.

I wish I could meet every single bride in the South (hell, in the WORLD) just so I could take their hands in mine, kiss them on both cheeks, and send them directly to The Sentimentalist. Rhiannon made what could have been a stressful, anxious day into an absolute joy. She is a complete sorceress - transforming admittedly lovely dresses into absolutely magical gowns through her incredible styling. She made my family comfortable and involved them in the dressing process. She LISTENED to everything I and my family said, showing her adaptability and professionalism as well as her delightful personality. I had two appointments made at other dress boutiques for the next day and cancelled them before walking out The Sentimentalists doors, because together we created a gorgeous outfit that I, my husband-to-be, and my guests will remember forever. Everyone else I spoke to at the Sentimentalist was just as professional, just as fun, just as joyful as Rhiannon, and I am, honestly, jealous that I dont work there. My time at The Sentimentalist was a celebration, one I cant wait to continue when I go back for my fittings.

Not a great experience, lots of rules about what you can and cant do as soon as you walk in. You are not allowed to touch anything yet they drag the dresses on the floor. They make you feel like they are doing you a favor. Met someone else recently who had a shared experience. Pity the people are not as nice as the dresses.

I was drawn to The Sentimentalist because of their unique dresses and handmade accessories. The small shop offered an intimate experience with exceptional staff expertise. My budget for the dress was $1200-$1500, so I was concerned when I read online that most dresses were $2000-$3000. I called the store and was told there were a few dresses available within my price range, so I made an appointment. I tried on 5 or 6 dresses at the store and fell in love with one by the designer Theia, which I purchased for $1500. I also purchased a few extraordinary handmade accessories (belt, veil, and earrings) to complete my look. I couldn’t have found them anywhere else. This store is perfect for the bride searching for a unique look and it far exceeds conventional dress stores that sell heavy material and outdated looks. Here you will look modern and sophisticated, while feeling youthful and romantic.

I was referred to The Sentimentalist by a close friend. This bridal boutique made me, my mom, and my sister feel at home the instant we rang the bell! From the warmest welcome to the compassionate and personalized experience, Caitlin was beyond a professional; she made me feel special and like a friend! She asked questions about my life, my fiancé, and how we met. These are the little things that make so much of a difference. I felt so special and beautiful in my wedding gown that I fell in love with and chose; I owe a lot of this to my experience at The Sentimentalist. This shop is FANTASTIC! If you want a shop with truly unique, amazing dresses with a laid back boho vibe, this place is for you. My bridal consultant was Rhiannon and she made me feel so comfortable during our (several) appointments. All of the ladies at the Sentimentalist are kind and easy to get ahold of - they quickly return phone calls and emails. You wont find big huge ball gowns or ultra fitted mermaid dresses, but the dresses are amazing and made by independent designers all throughout the USA!

I was extremely excited when I picked out my wedding dress back in December for my upcoming wedding. However when I received the dress it was much too large, needing it to be altered quite drastically. This was not an issue, as it shouldnt be too hard to fix. However, when I took my dress in to be altered, I was informed that the dress was either a knock off or a terribly constructed dress. The designer has sown the bust into the fabric, making it impossible to alter without ripping it apart and re-sowing the fabric back together. I was utterly heartbroken. Luckily my seamstress was able to make it look decent, but not what I should be getting when I paid $3,000 +.

I LOVED this place. Everyone was very kind and helpful, and I found a dress even better than what I was imagining. I am very thankful for these guys.

My experience at the Sentimentalist was a refreshing contrast to the other shops I visited. The ladies in the shop were at the same time more knowledgeable, but less snobby. I received no judgmental looks when I reported my short timeline (3 months) for finding a dress. Rhiannon and Caitlin were very helpful without being pushy. Rhiannon politely encouraged me to try on a dress I had no interest in on the hanger, which turned out to be the one (Daria, by Theia). She even helped me find the right undergarment for the dress, which was not an easy feat given the cut and type of fabric. Every person I interacted with at the shop was the right combination of personal and professional. Atlanta Brides, save yourself some time and stress-- come to the Sentimentalist first!

Truly one of a kind experience to have with your daughter

I came here a few months ago to browse wedding dresses. I did some research and the Sentimentalist had the style of what I was looking for if that makes any sense. Making an appoitment was super easy. This was my first time trying on dresses so I was unsure of what to expect. I recieved the best customer service ever! The first dress Caitlin picked for me was actually the dresses I ended up with. I never dreamed of a dream wedding gown but when I put it on, woah. That was it. I went to another Bridal place just to make sure the one Caitlin picked was the one. The other Bridal place will remain nameless but, there was a huge difference at the level of service. With that, Im so happy I found my dress here. Thank you guys for providing the best customer service and help getting my dress in as a rush order. Literally the best experience out there! Come here, do your research, support women owned local businesses.

Not impressed with this business. On 7.27.16 at around 230pm. I took my mother (who is a senior citizen) here to shop for a dress. The store sign stated open. There were people inside and when we tried to enter a young woman bomb rushed door-pink laptop in hand and peeped her head out as if we were dangerous clientele. She cracked opened the door and said Yes? (After climbing steps with no handrails and my mom has arthritis Wouldnt even let us in out of the extreme heat). And my mother expressed her interest in looking for a dress. In a very southern racist tone she said We have a client that were working with. If I had someone else here with me, I would let you in browse, but I have no one to watch while youre in the shop. My mother asked, well can we come back? She responded its gonna be about 2 hours,you should go to Tootsies at Lennox, they carry similar dresses.. Didnt offer to schedule an appointment or anything? Hot mess racism. Im gonna contact OSHA about the lack handrails, thats a customer safety issue, so is racism.
