Theres no reason this office should be so abysmal when it comes to customer service. Thats it. Thats the review.

This bookstore has deplorable customer service. The employees play gatekeepers and make up fabrications to prevent customers from speaking to management about concerns/complaints. In addition, the employees are rude, unprofessional, and condescending. One of the employees hung up on me after I asked several times to speak to a manager. As a GSU alumni and Georgia University faculty, I’m ashamed of the behavior of this bookstore and the reflection it has on GSU and their students.

They never answer the phone and all of the people who work here seem to hate their lives...

My friend did a soft skills workshop, providing the students with interview clothing, interviewing tips, and the dos and donts from an HR expert perspective. I company sponsored the event with some giveaways and I had spoke to some about investing and financial literacy

Plenty of merchandising, stationery products, books and more to choose from.Unfortunately the second floor is closed and I couldn’t take a look at the bigger book collection.

Twas coolI tried to take out the trash for the cashiers, buuut I failed miserably.The GSU garbs there are exceptional.

If I could give this place a zero, I would. I just drove an hour to discover that the bookstore is closed today, despite the website and phone message saying that they are open from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays.

The best bookstore on a college campus.

This is the worst bookstore I have ever been to. It is no better than organized crime. 3 years ago I was double charged over $400. I still have never been reimbursed. Yesterday, there is a book that only this bookstore has, when I asked for a receipt I was told they dont do receipt. I said I wanted one and had to wait 40 minutes for a manager. I still never got a receipt. Avoid at all costs. Use amazon or Chegg.

One can find help with what you are looking for toward your studies

Always a quick time, and able to find what I need. The service is excellent too.

Its always busiest during the first two weeks of the semester and youre required to check your bag at the bag station during this time but during the rest of the semester the atmosphere is relaxed and its a convenient place to get everything you need for your classes. The book pickup service is very useful but is moved to ballroom in student center east during the first two weeks as well. Sometimes getting the book you need can be a little frustrating but you should always be able to work it out with the employees.

I am a Georgia State student and had to purchase a few books for classes as usual. But the bookstore up charges students for books that you can find online for wayyyy cheaper. However the store was clean and everyone was properly social distanced and there was a wide variety of item, they were all just over pricedZ

Clean and EVERYONE has to wear a mask. Oh...they had great customer service, lol.

This store is great for purchasing textbooks and spirit gear but also has student needs and more! Great place to shop for school and dorm/apartment supplies. Practically all the categories you would find in your typical convenience store can be found here.

Good luck getting them to answer the phone

As a smaller guy its difficult finding small sizes, the prices are okay but some things seem a bit expensive. The styles are also limited and I dont find many plain designs that arent too sporty and just good for everyday wear. The books I dint look at, just merchandise.

The cashiers and manager alike are rude and inconsiderate. The store is a disaster. They have an outrageous return policy written in fine print at the bottom of the receipt and unmentioned when purchased. The policy is clearly designed to con students out of their money. The entire establishment is ran with sleezeball ethics. I will never return. Im even considering as much as transferring schools because of the treatment they show their Georgia State Students. Disgusted to say the least.

The petite black woman responsible for working at the front of the store to provide support for new cashiers is rude beyond belief and needs a new line of work. I needed general assistance with purchasing books and found out that the misinformation provided by another bookstore staff member was apparently reason to publicly embarrass me. A general inquiry -- particularly when the person asking is being friendly should not ever result in being loudly confronted and talked down to in a crowded store full of students.Great way to send your future graduates out into the world. As a recent graduate and current graduate student this encounter does not endear me to break out funds when the alumni association solicits as it does often for financial support. If this is the type of behavior that alumni money supports - no thanks.

When I placed my Summer 2019 book order the checkout web page said I would receive a confirmation email and email notice when ready to pick up. I have not received either of these emails. Tried to call the bookstore to check status and no one answered the phone. Guess Ill just have to make the trip downtown to find out whether my book is available for pickup. My online account says the order has been fulfilled but since the order confirmation process didnt work as advertised I would have really liked to confirm before making the trip. This is typical of my past experience with the bookstore. Ive eventually received every book Ive ordered but there have been many glitches and often inaccurate information was provided by the bookstore. Thats why Im skeptical its really there.

The managers there were really rude to the staff and under paid them. They would have them do work that’s not in their department but was not willing to give raises.

It doesnt take a rocket scientist to know how unorganized this school is. Ive waited on hold for hours just to be hung up on. I had my student accounts closed over the mistakes of my teachers. The traffic definitely sucks and Ive seen too many homeless people harassing the women on the campus. Ive seen students take other students equipments in labs so they wouldnt have to pay for the ones they damaged. Ive dealt with TAs that didnt know no how to work equipment or solve problems and pretty much just socialize throughout the labs. The buses will run you over. The students think they can walk in the middle of the street and Ive seen some near hits because of it. The required books are very pricey. There is no housing near by... I drive two hours to get to campus. The parking is a raffle so you may get it and you may not. My financial experiences were horrible. Ive been put out of school because they lost documentation and told me AFTER the deadline. Im not saying dont get your education done but for $5500 a semester, you would think that this school would be more organized and have better customer services. I hope this helps.

Nice and quick visit to return a rental. The layout of the surrounding building is, quite frankly, questionable at best, but thats not really the bookstores fault. Probably.

Service is okay. The books and items are heavily overpriced. The lines do move pretty fast even with the large amount of students. The selection of books could be more diverse.

They had my books on back order since the first week of school and didn’t email me with further updates on my order. I finally went in to find out what was going on. After the young man spent 20 minutes looking he told me that the book orders were cancelled. So I said when was anybody going to tell me? He then didn’t apologize for the inconvenience or anything but continued to work on the computer. That’s not the first time that has happened . Some of the staff is clearly not trained on giving good customer service. They are disorganized and the some of the staff is rude and dismissive. This is why I hardly buy my books or anything from this bookstore. If you’re looking for your books do yourself a favor and go to amazon.

Small and overpriced. They carry more merchandise than they do textbooks. Expect the most popular books to be out of stock so if you insist on buying from here get your lists early and order as soon as you can.

Employees can be a bit rude and impatient at times before the semester starts which is their busiest times, when you come be prepared to stay at least an hour. If possible I recommend ordering online and having your books and supplies shipped to your house if you are in the Atlanta area you will get it two days after you order it despite it saying standard shipping is 5-7 days. Its worth the 5.50 so you wont have to deal with the lines and the staff even if you select pick up from store like I tried before you will still have to wait at least an hour

They hire anyone! Workers have no knowledge of books or access codes. They can give you the wrong thing to purchase and wont let you return it. Especially access codes. Very unprofessional. Just buy online or from other websites. Dont go in store. Waste of time.

Its too big of a bookstore without enough of the staff to know in-depth about the store. Better training of the staff would help in regards to access codes and other textbooks especially.

Students of GSU, if you can find your books anywhere else, do so.Everything here is pretty overpriced and should you buy something, if you arent carrying it in your hands, any order you might need to take at the beginning of the school year is impossible for them to get to you on time. Buy your books, supplies, snacks, anything you need elsewhere or online. Dont come here to buy a pint of ice cream or get items that are half off at a Wal-Mart or so. Do come here to try on any store items like spirit clothing and all, but I would also wait and look online to see if it is on sale online to avoid paying 2x the price of it.

The absolute WORST place to buy textbooks!! Incredibly unorganized, no one is aware of where to actually pick up the book if you do an online order and they wont cancel an order even when they cant find the book you ordered. Buy your textbooks anywhere else and youll be happier.

Horrible, horrible service. Bought something online and never received it. Month later when I need it, I send an email and get no response. I go in the store and the person I need to talk to isnt there so I walk around and wait only to notice Im being watched. 3 different employees all of a sudden have to stock or check shelves of items near or behind me. Just overall not a good experience. The people are so lazy and dont seem to want to help at you. They just take your money and treat you like youre levels beneath them. Makes the university look bad. Pitiful.

How in the hell do I get an email from the GSU Bookstore informing me that my order is ready for pick up but then get told they dont have it and rudely swatted away by the employees!? I expected a higher level of accountability from a georgia state institution but I suppose the only guarantee you can get from this place is that they will definitely take your money. For those considering using this joint for your books....just do Amazon. It will save you a lot of stress.

Its a perfectly serviceable bookstore but compared to other university bookstores, it is definitely lacking.

Was charged for a book I returned (before the deadline), and NEVER received my refund after months of speaking with the manager ! I worked very hard to receive my aid to be able to purchase my books that were needed, and to have lost out on over $100 (for one book) was very disappointing. I constantly contacted the manager, and he would tell me to get in contact with the Financial Aid office just for them to tell me that I was charged for the book, and never received the refund back to my account, but he would tell me otherwise ! I am still waiting on the refund till this day (August return).

WORST BOOKSTORE EVER. They are completely unorganized and are rude to customers. Books do not come in on time, they do not notify the buyer when the books come up and rarely offer refunds for their own mistakes. For an example of their incompetence, I was once told my books had not arrived when I could see the my ordered books in the box behind the counter. Regardless of the issue, they will blame the customer for the bookstores own incompetence. Would recommend buying books literally anywhere else but here.

I love my bookstore. It has a lot of options for books, school supplies, school clothing etc. Of course the store is way over priced sometimes but its still pretty good all things considered.

I used to really like going to the bookstore and spend quite a bit of money there. They sold me a broken bottle and refused to exchange it. Poor poor customer service! I rather go to the bookstore by Hurt Park - the ladies working there are just SOO SOO much more competent and nicer.

Great place for students to find what book you need. They give you all the info, but just buy or rent from somewhere else. Bookstore items are mich too expensive.

Its decent. It is pricey but what it offers is convenient since its right on campus. Although, I did go to get a textbook appraised that I paid well over $100 dollars for (its the current edition for CIS 2010) and was offered $3.75 in cash. This place is essentially GameStop.

They are lucky to get 1 star from me. This bookstore should get a negative star. 4th week of school and still waiting on my books. This is ridiculous and a waste of time and money. I called several times and have been getting the run around and placed on hold for hours until they hang up. Save your time, effort and grade by not purchasing from this book store.

You can always find what you need, but get ready to over-pay for what you get. Just get your textbooks from Amazon if you can!

Terrible service. I asked to special order an access code for SPECIFICALLY for WebAssign and the lady gave me an access code for and online version of the courses textbook which I ALREADY had in hard copy. Not only that, she was completely apathetic toward the whole process when making the order. I only found out she made the wrong order when the textbook company notified me that my eBook access order was ready. Avoid the bookstore at all cost. Everything else is completely overpriced (I once wanted to purchase a notebook smaller than an index card and it came to $21.73!); its ridiculous.

Although some items are definitely overpriced, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, quick, and efficient. Also, the book selection is amazing, even if its not an item for a class.

I know how reviews go. Someone is pissed that they had a bad experience and they want you to rage with them. Please rage with me about the utter incompetents that work and manage this place. Im sure they have heard it all, I really do, but that doesnt mean everyone who has a story or problem is out to pull one over on you. I am a 38 year old professional who works 40+ hours a week while getting a grad degree and I have been treated with disdain, called a liar, and spent valuable time chasing down a refund for a book due to the bookstores mistake. I could have chosen anywhere to get my degree and the treatment by people in this bookstore makes me question the integrity of the university as a whole. Yeah, that bad.

I special ordered a book I needed for a class and never recived a call or email about it, leading up to me never getting it and ultimately canceling my order. When I called to see if they had my book in stock no one knew anything and told me to wait 4 more days in which i did. After 4 days passed I called again they said the book came in and it was fully in stock so i came into the store to recive it that day. However, once i was actually there and told one of the employees what book I was coming in to pick up they said they never recived the shipment for the book and it wasnt there, (yet i called twice that day to make sure that it was there and they reasured me it was!) i ended up canceling my order and getting it off amazon. What also didnt help was how rude some of the employees were.

Very efficient bookstore!

This place is ridiculously unorganized. I went to return my books that took forever to get to me. One book I never even got, and they were trying to charge me for it. I spoke to the manager, who is the rudest person on this planet! He spoke, not even, but argued with me about the book for about 15 minutes before telling me to email him about the situation. Little do yall know, yall messed with the wrong one. I WILL BE CONTACTING HIS SUPERVISOR!

Honestly they dont even deserve a one star review. I purchased a book online and got it two weeks later. Two weeks after, I tried to return it, UNOPENED and was told 1)the last day to return wouldve been 8/29 (I HADNT GOTTEN THE BOOK YET) 2)I wouldve had two days to return it and 3)only non course material can be returned within 30 days of purchase. The employees are so rude and the prices are horrible. Customer service is absolutely ridiculous.

The cashiers are incompetent. There are signs everywhere that you can use your financial aid for the upcoming semester but they dont know how to access it.

This is the most incompetent university bookstore that I have ever dealt with. The staff is rude and unprofessional. The book store was understocked. I ordered my books the week before class was set to begin and they had to ship in all seven books. I barely got mine before class started. My roommate has still not recieved one of her books and we are going into the 4th week of our program. She had to order the book from Amazon (2 days). She called to cancel her order, which they agreed to over the phone. When she emailed to follow up after no action was taken they told her that she couldnt cancel and that refunds are only issued through the 28th of August, but it is September 2nd and she has still not recieved the book. They also told her she couldnt return it until it arrived and she recieved it. Neither of us will ever buy textbooks from the bookstore again.

Some of the staff at the gsu bookstore seem to be arrogant and incompetent. I imagine there are some nice ones, the bookstore is expensive and the staff needs to keep that in mind. Also the buyback rate on books seems unfair compared to the price paid, its as though they want you to give books back for free.

Avoid whenever possible. I bought a book there, tried to return it that same day, as the cashier said its returnable as long as the seal is unopened. The staff tossed me around and said I should meet the manager next day. The manager was incredibly rude, accused me of lying about what the cashier said, and when he finally saw I wasnt letting up, he said hed contact the cashier and update me; needless to say, he didnt, and would not come out of his office for the following three days whenever I came to ask, he instead passed messages to me through staff saying that the cashier in question -his employee- has been unreachable for three days.

Work at gsu.little pricey.but of course its university.get snacks sometime and employee discounts
