Do not go this shop. poor communication with customers. every other week they have new manager. make sure you take pictures of your car and remove all yours personal items. they will steal part of your car. they individual owned. please take my advise and do not go there

My car was repaired without my authorization. Instead of Mike admitting it. He lied for two months and then after the Manager Thomas settles with me. Mike sabotaged my car and I had it towed from the location. I drove my car there but, towed away.Was informed by Thomas car is making a noise and smoking after we agreed to a settlement on 14th. Waited a week with no return call or email I showed up unexpectedly to be told by Mike that Thomas wasn’t available and was told I need a battery and an alternator. I heard the noise in Sept Thomas heard the noise in November. When the tower jumped the start now it wouldn’t stay running and no noise. Alternators don’t make noise or smoke. Go figure.

Absolutely the worst place to ever take your car to. The front desk service is unorganized and rude. I made an appointment with Shaun. I had discussed pricing estimate with Randall and was told that my original brand new and sealed gasket pieces would be used. On the day of my appointment, there’s a different Randall shorter older man. He tells me I have no appointment and that the other Randall is no longer working with them. I ask about the pricing and using my original parts and was told something completely different. Unfortunately this establishment will not last or make any good profit if they continue with the disorganization. I wasn’t even given an estimated time. Seems like this place needs a designated phone person and designated person for the walk ins. You need a better system of keeping track of appointments. I waited two weeks for this appointment to sit at aamco for hours for a diagnosis that i didn’t even end up having. I left after 4hours of waiting. Older Randall even confessed that he doesn’t know how to used the computer system for a pricing estimate. Get organized. Do better

Avoid Avoid Avoid. Please do not use this place for anything!!!. Not even an oil changed. My van has been at this location for over 3 months now. After paying a down payment of $3000.00, I have gotten nothing but lies and BS from Mike. I have never seen anything like it. Probably the worse repair shop in the country. I dont know how they are still in business.

BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS. My daughter who is in college check engine light had come on and car was making a noise. She left it at this business to get a diagnostic. The tech told her she needed a new engine and transmission and it would be 4500 to fix it. They then have her numbers for credit app. I then got involved and had out local mechanic three hours away go and pick it up. The car needed new spark plugs and wires. Untrustworthy. Also when I called to let the Manager know he was very rude and was talking over me. He wouldn’t have just let me vent. Poor customer service

On June 30,2020 I paid $4987.41 to Aamco because they told me my transmission needed to be rebuilt. I didnt even make it home before I had another issue with the car. It was towed back to their shop where they claimed to have fixed the issue after a few days. It was no cost to me since I’m a disabled veteran according to them. I know it was because it was their fault. Two months after that experience I brought my car in again because of a transmission slip issue. They informed me that my fluids were low and that was the problem. Months later the same issue occurred and I informed the Manager at the time “Mike “ but I was explained that it was backed up at the facility. On July 4th 2021 I was driving in the car with my children when my car stopped moving forward up a hill. It has been sitting at aamco since then just for them to tell me that the transmission needed to be replaced again. They also say Im 2k miles outside of the warranty in which the invoice I received doesnt match the work rendered. at this point I was told I would only get a 20% discount for them to replace my trans a second time . At no point should I be at fault or charged to pay for a second transmission. My invoice says it was rebuilt the company told me they replaced it but either way the trans they gave me barely made it past warranty and had issues before the warranty ended. I would like my car fixed properly or refunded so that I can pay shop that will

I was traveling from Georgia to Michigan and the car I was using had transmission problems. Michael and the entire staff were very professional and went above and beyond to the point of staying after hours so that I could have the car ready for my trip to Michigan. Michael and his team were amazing and gave me great customer service... not only to me, but EVERYONE that came in were treated kindly and professionally. Will definitely recommend them!

I am so grateful for Mike May at this AAMCO! While driving 3 1/2 hours from home to Atlanta, my transmission began causing problems. He was extremely helpful, informative and forthright about diagnosing potential issues. I left it at AAMCO overnight, and they confirmed a transmission problem. He helped me understand the problem exactly. While laying out all reasonable solution options, he didnt try and sell me what I didnt need. He is extremely personable and I felt well cared for. I brought my jeep in to get transmission lines replaced, they told me it would be finished by the end of the afternoon four days later they finish the transmission lines but destroyed the seal on my oil pan housing. They billed me for a new oil pan housing gasket but installed it incorrectly now I’m leaking oil and having to go to a competent shop that will actually get my vehicle done in the timeframe they provided. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place. Their management is unprofessional, and to top it off they took 45 minutes to even figure out how to generate a receipt so I could leave.

When I called, I was told the inspection was free. They charged $1450.00 for inspection. Then after the transmission was replaced by an USED one, they said it was warrantied for six months only, and not to drive long distances and more limitations! Cost me over $3,800.00! The y are owned by independent owners, and the headquarter Aamco has nothing to do with them!!

Mike said he would have my car fixed in a week it’s been over a month. I finally got my car back and it still has the exact same problem. They said they put a new transmission in it but the check engine light is still on and the vehicle became undrivable 30 minutes after leaving the shop driving home. Mike yelled over the phone and lied on numerous occasions of when I could pick up the vehicle. He says his wife is in the hospital but that is only so he doesn’t have to come to the phone, if he is even there. Horrible place even worse customer service. They scam and take your money and Mike becomes verbally aggressive over the phone if point out his discrepancies. Stay far far away.

I’m not sure this aamco has the right people to do the job. Mike is a nice person but has had my car since 10/24/2020.. he told me he would have it ready within a week. It is now 11/24/2020 and I still haven’t gotten my car back. I only went in for my transmission and found out they broke my axle trying to do my transmission.. I’m still waiting for a response from corporate office. This isn’t how good business is supposed to be done. They definitely need better training or the company isn’t going to make it. I’m loosing so much money waiting to get my car back it’s ridiculous.

Had my clutch replaced, it took them 3 days to do it and it didnt even last 72 hours. This is the worst company to take your car or truck to. Avoid this place the technicians are horrible. They told me they had one of their best working on it and thats pretty sad if thats one of your best

I called on behalf of one of my customers and suffered verbal whiplash from Mike. I deal with all sorts of mechanic shops on a daily basis and have never been spoken to by anyone like Mike. From the time he answered the phone it was nothing but hostile. I wouldnt recommend sending your vehicle here for anything. Call Gary at Aamco on Covington Hwy, it may be a little bit out of the way, but they will get you taken care of and treat you with respect.

Had vehicle towed here while on vacation. Mike looked at my car for free. Unfortunately the fix was worth more that my 2001 Maxima. He was very attentive. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be back for my next repairs.

As many of the reviews about this business point out, Mike is a class act. Ive got a car with a notoriously problematic transmission, and brought it in to have it diagnosed. Mike walked be through what the most likely scenario was, which turned out to be the case. While it didnt make sense to go ahead with the repairs, the estimate seemed to be in line with what I expected, and the time to repair he quoted was very good. If I do have issues in the future, Ill be definitely be bringing my next car here as well.

Mike, the store manager gave me a great experience. He towed my car to his shop and did a detailed inspection on my car, only to find that the issue was a very small problem. His team took care of the problem without charging me a dime. I will recommend Mikes team to anyone looking for an upfront and honest business, willing to do whatever to please their customers.

Let me begin by saying this is the first negative Google Review I have ever written. I would highly caution anyone against using Aamco. Here was my experience: I brought in my car with a blinking Check Engine light, pretty sure that it was misfiring & needed an ignition coil replacement (and maybe sparkplugs too). The Aamco rep tried to fast-talk me into buying 4 new coils, 4 new sparkplugs, and some other services as well -- for over $1000. To be fair, yes -- when one coil starts going bad, its likely the others will, too. However, it was Not necessary to replace all 4 at this time, and the rep did not make this clear on the phone (fortunately, I already knew all of these things bc I have an engineering degree & experience with cars).I knew better & took my car elsewhere. They fixed it in less than an hour for less than a third of the price that Aamco quoted me.Sorry, but based on my own personal experience alone, I do not trust these people. Its no surprise that they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. This is the first negative Google review Ive ever written, and I am doing so out of conviction. I feel compelled to warn others about this place, because I truly believe it is the right thing to do. Be careful.I often test people by playing dumb / innocent to see if they still give honest answers. This company failed that test.P.S.: when I went to drop off my car, a woman in the waiting room cautioned me about her experience with Aamco so far: they had kept her car for almost 7 weeks after saying it would take 1-2 weeks to fix. On top of that, they had fixed her engine before -- and it broke again.

I only spoke to Mike maybe twice. I kept getting put on a non existing call back list!!! They’ve had my car for three weeks and eveytime I call about an update, I always get a “oh he’s not here “ or he’s doing a test drive or it gets worse ; you’re on his callback list . Even my warranty company can’t get ahold of Mike!!! Worst customer service ever . Actually can’t believe they’re still open for business at this point!! Ruuuunnn as far away from this location

I brought my daughter 2007 Ford Explorer in because I thought it was the transmission because it wasnt going into proper gears and reading alots of codes but to find out that it had a electrical shortage on the transmission circuit to cause it to run rough. Im glad I took my vehicle here to get a diagnostic instead of keep guessing whats wrong with it. They kept me updated every step of the way and did the repairs in a timely manner.

Man i can not express how much of a blessing that place is ! Especially the manager Mike! We are from out of state here for work and our transmission went out on us, we travel slot and couldnt get back to make all the payments! That was 6 months ago! They were going to impound our tahoe but instead blessed us. The truck drives smooth with no issues. Thank you guys!

Blake and Jerry is awesome. Don’t read the reviews because you weren’t there. It’s best to see for yourself. Before they do anything to your car they will explain everything and won’t do anything until YOU SIGN YOUR NAME ON THE LINE! Transmission checks are free! If you need help with payments they will go over about a hundred different offers. They are very nice. I’ve called about 100 times a day and everytime they were so sweet. If you can’t take my word for it then just go yourself. I was scared because of the reviews but when I went in I was very satisfied!!!

The manager name Mike is very disrespectful call several times regarding my car and never got a call. My car has been sitting on the lot for over a month with no work done to it. I have the money to fix my car, but I’ve never received a quote for anything. Never will I do business with this location, and I told 22 employees of my office staff not to support this office. They tear up cars, maybe it’s god plan they never touched my car. I will be contacting corporate about Mike regarding this matter.

I honestly wish I could give them zero stars. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I came here originally to check my alternator but ended up getting my wheel bearings and rotors fixed a couple months ago. Now I find out that they put the parts in BACKWARDS and I am currently at another mechanic paying for the same parts again and for the damage that these TERRIBLE mechanics caused (I’m not sure who all worked on my car but I know that Chris was one of the mechanics). They also returned my car with missing lug nuts and the remaining ones on my wheels were extremely stripped. I didn’t even want to get my car repaired here but I’m a college student and I don’t have a lot of knowledge on cars. Sadly they persuaded me, but I should have gone with my gut. Please save yourself the time and money... GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!Also, don’t trust these 5 star reviews. One of the guys working at the front desk (I think his name is Laymon) used my phone to write a 5-star review when I left the shop but I quickly deleted it. So unprofessional.

I’m glad I came here today. They gave me a detailed diagnosis of what was wrong with my vehicle along with honest quotes and next moves for me in the eyes of a friend, but it was more than getting my car looked at. It included excellent customer service and a hospitable environment. I had the pleasure of talking an employee there about life which was great. That was the icing on the cake and definitely recommend this place.

My car went to hell in a single night. The next morning I limped it to get an oil change (it had none), then took it down the street for a free diagnostic. It came back as the transmission. I managed to get it to this AAMCO and let them know.. They kept it overnight and took it apart. Long story short, I needed a new transmission, which made sense. Its 11 yrs old and has over 100k miles. The radiator also needed to be replaced, another common issue with Xterras. Thankfully I had a warranty, spent $430 for over 6k worth of work. The guys in the front office were great, they worked with me and helped me with the warranty and rentals (which Ive never dealt with). They had to order a new transmission and had it ready for me two days after it came in, 5 days earlier than estimated (that includes the weekend they dont work). I got my car back and so far its running well, though pick up is a bit different than before, but it is a new transmission. Ill be calling to talk about it. Overall a really good experience considering I didnt have my car for two weeks.

Please do not waste your money coming here, they will try to scam you with there free transmission check. I came here because I was experiencing transmission problems, they did there check and label it as internal problem were as they would have have to break down the transmission to see were the problem is, Which will put you out of over 1000 dollars, even without fixing the issue, they will fast talk you into believing you have the worst problem on your hands, do not go through with the additional check, get a second opinion, they tried to put me in a whole for over a thousand dollars, I went to another shop, and they said the transmission was fine, but I had sensor codes being thrown, in which Ammco could not detect, I ended up purchasing the sensor for 78 dollars and putting on my vehicle in 10min, my car has been running fine since, and I have no mechanical background.

Mike is the best. My truck went out on 6/13(my birthday) I was able to drop it off in the middle of the night. 7:40 am me and my husband went to this aamco and were greeted by Mike! My truck had a warranty and was honored from the time I walked in. He made a lot of promises and came thru every time. He would tell me he’ll call at 7:30am, he’ll call at 7:25am. Honest worker and you won’t have to keep calling him because he will definitely keep calling you. My truck was there for a week tops! 5 stars across the board!!! I’ll be back to get more work done!!

AMAZING SERVICE!! This location literally saved my family and I from a $10,000 job another company was trying to charge me. They really had my best interest in mind the entire way from dealing with the insurance company with warranties to ensuring this new engine didnt break my pockets. Very personable and took the time to call and give updates, when I dropped in they never hesitated to show me the car and walk me through the progress they had made. OVERALL an AWESOME Experience Id refer anyone to them.Did I mention they did the job at almost half the price. 🙌🏾

Lenann the owner will have you walk out with a lemon and empty pockets. he might be man of church always watching the gospel but not a man of god. you will be better off getting robbed .. they did a poor job on my transmission, overpriced for no reason and if i backed down id be charged over $850 just for them looking at the transmission and 1150 to put it back (still not fixed). thats all if you want out...you wont have a choice but to go with them..if you cant afford it cash, they help with credit which is gonna cost weekly payments on up to 5k loans to pay them for something they did not fix... beware if you are a girl or college student stay away from the snake pit, if dont know about cars and mechanics you will be prey to them. I took my vehicle, a 2001 Saturn with a manual transmission, there for repairs on a failing clutch. Denny, the office manager, patiently and respectfully explained all necessary parts and repairs and provided a written estimate, which matched the final bill. The repairs were kind of pricey, but the car drives better than it has in several years. I recommend them highly for quality repairs and excellent customer service.

I visited Northside Drive with brake issues and when I tell you the moment I walked in the door Jerry and Kennisha made me feel at home. They took care of my care as quickly as possible as well as made sure I didn’t over pay for my service. They didn’t try to up sale me on anything but did suggest I get an oil change. I admire the fact that I am a women that went in a shop by herself and they didn’t take advantage of me. I also admire how when I had a issue with previous work I took it back and Mike jumped on it right away without having to wait. I had a superior experience at this AAMCO location. I took my PT Cruiser in because it was having trouble starting. I called on a Tuesday morning, trying to set up an appointment, and they said they could take it immediately, which is so convenient. (When your car wont start, you need service ASAP). They took my concerns very seriously and I felt as though they were invested in thoroughly understanding the problems that the car was having. I was very impressed by the free 20-point inspection (I think it was 20, it could have been more). They found 2 small things wrong besides the battery, but did not try to sell me more service than I had asked for. They ordered a part, replaced the battery and a breaklight, tested the car thoroughly, and got the car back to me within a few hours! The absolute best thing about my experience was the phone calls I received updating me on the progress. The phone manners were some of the best I have experienced, and they made sure that I understood everything they were doing completely. I had some questions about the mechanics, and they patiently and thoroughly explained everything, without trying to sell me any more service. They gave me news about my car as if it were my child. Now, I dont feel that way about my car, but I know that some people do, and would appreciate that. I was also quoted a very fair price, in my experience, and was even given a Georgia Tech student discount that I didnt know existed, without having to ask! Thank yall so much, AAMCO, for the great experience. I really appreciate having a mechanic that I feel I can trust. Ill be recommending this place to my friends!

Professional, Reliable, Trustworthy, and Expertise!!I was hesitant to bring my truck but very happy that I did. Where others failed, Rodney and his team of Auto Technicians were able to successfully diagnosis the electrical issues with my Chevy Tahoe and get to the root of the problem. Unfortunately the root of the problem laid with a mechanic that misrepresented themselves as auto technicians. I felt very comfortable and confident in the services as well as the advice given for my truck. I took my car to AAMCO to get my transmission rebuilt. I had already been informed by the Toyota dealer that I needed to replace it and given an estimate for the replacement. The cost for the rebuild was a bit more than expected and I was without transportation for almost two weeks which was much longer than I had anticipated. But I was kept informed of the progress on my car regularly and was explained in detail why the repair took as long as it did. I was also explained why the cost was higher due to some expensive parts that needed to be replaced. All and all the people were very professional and the cost for the rebuild was about $400.00 less than what the dealership had quoted although I was hoping for a lot more savings than that but I understood why it did cost more. I would recommend this AAMCO shop to friends and relatives for transmission repairs should the need arise.

A Code P1700 for check engine light came on for my mustang that has never had issues. I took it to AAMCO and asked them to run a quick diagnostic test on it to see what was going on. Instead, they took the transmission apart and claim the transmission is completely gone and I need it replaced or rebuilt. Ive never had issues with this car before now and I drove it to them. They want me to pay hundreds for them to put the transmission back together or sign a document saying all my pieces are there and tie my car away. This is awful. I have no copies of any paperwork or diagnostic results. I told them to give me a list of what was wrong with the transmission. They still have my car and I have no list and the guy at the front desk tried to FIGHT my friend and we have it on tape. My car is being held against my will with the transmission in pieces...all because one greedy store manager wanted to get over on a female. BEWARE!

I wanna start by saying some of the nicest guys Ive ever meet. I have a 78 camaro at this point it has seen 3 transmission. The last two due to a mystery leak. I took it in nervous of course. They assured me my car was okay. Within a couple of days they felt they had figured out the problem. By the third day it was found my dipstick was too long . They corrected issue. I really appreciate these guys. I made it to the car show. Thanks again.

Denny and team were very patient in working with me on getting my transmission repaired. They were understanding of my situation as a college student and were able to work with me. My transmission rides almost new and they were adamant about making sure the quality of their service was top-notch. I would definitely bring my honda back for any other repair needs.

This was the worst shop I have ever been to. I told them I needed the alternator replaced on my vehicle and I would do the work myself except this model had it under the engine and would be a pretty difficult job to do in my driveway. They came to pick up the car which was great. The next day they call me to say there may be something else going on with the electrical system and wanted to do a diagnostic. Cool!! They call me the following week with the estimate of a job that should be about $450 and quotes me $1250 WITH discounts. They were trying to charge me $285 to inspect the electrical system and most shops charge between $25-$40. I was not paying that and they had me so angry I recorded my conversation with the manager and was about to take them to court. I took the car to Firestone and everything is great and I got the alternator I needed at a fair price. AVOID THESE SCAM ARTISTS!!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!! I was quoted $2000 to rebuild my transmission. I had my car towed there. After two or three days i was told my transmission was taken apart for better diagnose the problem. After they took my transmission apart they informed me its going to cost $4000 to rebuild the transmission. I told the manager no way! The car is not even worth $4000. I told the manager i wanted my car back, ill take my car somewhere else. I was slapped with a $1500 bill for them dismantling my transmission and diagnosing. I could not get my car back without paying that $1500. I paid these crooks $1500 and the issue is still NOT FIXED! so i urge you DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE.

I took my car to Aamco a month ago to get the thermostat housing replaced. Everyone at the shop was very friendly and helpful. The manager, Al, called me frequently with updates on part orders. I havent had any problems with my car running hot since then. Great job guys and Thank you so much!

Poor customer service. Pulled up in the parking lot and one of the mechanics came up to my car and told me rudely that i could not park here and parking was around the front. He smelled of liquor and cigarettes. I immediately left the premises first impressions are lasting ones. wouldnt let these guys fix my sons skateboard much less let them work on my vehicle!!!!!

My wife took our car there after being told by a different shop that it needed a $2300 transmission rebuild. After looking at it the manager, Miles, explained what the problem really was and would cost under $300! He was patient explaining things to my wife then to me over the phone. They fixed it the same day and it has been running great ever since. Thanks for being so honest and knowledgable and saving us $2000!!! We will be bringing all our vehicles here from now on.

Poor communication, I dropped by car off on Friday no one called to give an update by Tuesday. I continued to call throughout the week either no one picked up or when I got someone on the phone they stated the person I needed to speak with was with a customer. Mike NEVER returned any of my calls. I finally went to pick up my car.

I call AAMCO Transmissions& Total Car Care, 806 Northside Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30318- to inquire about an issue with my car. I was expecting a fast talking mechanic that would only be concerned about how much they would charge me to bring my car in for a proper diagnosis. I was wrong. Laymon a mechanic at AAMCO answered the phone with a caring attitude, superior customer service. He assured me that he could take a look at me car and educated me on various other products such as financing that would help with the cost of fixing my car. Denny and staff were very responsive and willing to provide full explanations of repairs. They did extensive repairs on my transmission and included some extra work for a large discount. As far as I can tell, they are honest and skilled mechanics. Transmission work can be very expensive, but hopefully it is worth it. Aamco does provide a 12 month guarantee on the work done.

Please be AWARE.....I took my car in to have the water pump replaced. Mind you, AAMCO fixed the same issue last year.I got the car back, and I noticed it was leaking water. I took the car back and they informed me that the thermostat needed to be replaced. WHO CHANGES A WATER PUMP AND DOESNT CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT?! This would make 2 weeks, that the car has been at the business; only for the manager to yell at me, and inform me that he was doing me a favor.I picked the car up last night, and get on the expressway this morning and my car would not shift gears. It locked completely in gear. He informed me that I would not be able to receive the car back until Monday. It has now become an electrical issue. He stated that they are unable to inform me of what the problem was because they didnt have time to research the problem and tell me what wrong. This is very disappointing; and now I must spend yet another weekend without my car... I would not recommend this AAMCO repair shop to anyone. THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE WORST ORDEALS THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED with dealing with a auto repair shop.

First and foremost: The started out with 5 🌟 But You will read how the story unfolds. Blake has a sales/service pitch out of this world. First and foremost, my first encounter with Blake was over the phone. If you are reading reviews, you obviously know what customer service is suppose to look like! Blake can give you 5 star service with just his words. Then, You get to the shop and ask Jerry... Absolutely anything about a vehicle and he will pinpoint and discuss any entity. I have only had my vehicle back made 12 hrs but uhmmm... So for so GRAND AAMCO OF NORTHSIDE DRIVE. Keep up the momentum😘Welp 3 weeks later... my car has been back to the shop... 2 times... no real communication and still no car! UPDATE: My car was sent to the Northside drive Aamco the last week in April. Today is the third time my 2013 Nissan Altima has been returned to me 6/5/19. I told Jerry that i was promised my gas back, at least, for the time consumption and inconvenience. Jerry says, We had to drive your car up to 150 miles each time to test its performance. Not my car, not my problem. I replied, Jerry, dont do that. You have had my car over 30 days. 3 times and two holidays. You only communicated with Me when I called in. No updates or anything. With all that I have been through just by trusting in Blakes sales pitch and Jerrys car talk, i didnt expect to be treated so rudely. I literally took my car from Nissan delalership trying to trust in them. I am headed home now praying that its fixed.

Office staff very friendly!I came for 2nd opinion as to whether transmission on my 2005 prius really needs to be replaced and if so at what cost.They investigated carefully and found some metal piece lodged in a bad place causing the noise.Instead of several thousand $ on unnecessary new transmission, i paid less than 300$ for labor.I feel i can trust them to not overcharge me, nor recommend stuff that’s not needed. The work was done in apparently good quality too. What more could i ask?
