Brandon and others at Pep Boys were so helpful to repair my car. Providing updates multiple times over a 2 day period, I knew what they were doing to my car, was asked to approve charges that they detailed for me, and picked up my car in a shorter time than they originally thought. Excellent experience.

Courtney, Joe and Jonathan were incredibly thoughtful and helpful in guiding me on buying (and installing) a new car battery. I showed up, they tested my battery for free, and when it was determined that I needed a new one, they got me set up and installed in no time. I was in and out in half an hour and they were friendly, non-judgmental and showed great customer service the whole time. Would recommend!

Avoid at all costs. Bait and switch warranty tactics with extremely rude customer associates. Purchased a tire with road hazard warranty and after having a flat within warranty timeline -- we went to replace it and were told one price when we dropped off the tire and then charged 4X the amount after work was completed. Associate said initial price was a guess. Im willing to guess you could find more honest service elsewhere.

I called and asked for an appointment for an inspection early morning. I was told to bring in my car. I needed my car for the next day. I dropped my car at their shop around 0930AM. All day I called them asking for status and got vague replies. Just before their shop was about to close I was told that they wont be able to look at my car today. I booked an Uber and rushed to pick up my car. It stayed there the entire day and nobody touched it neither did they communicate the situation with me. Pep boys staff, if someone calls for an appointment its because they dont want to leave their car with you of an open ended period of time. Your customers also have commitments they have to keep. And I dont understand the purpose of putting generic claims like we promise express care on boards in your shop when you are going to do exactly opposite.

I was told I need a alternator and the battery. I said ok and was informed it won’t be long. I live around the corner so I decided to go home and wait. Later i receive a text stating it will be another 2 to 3 hours they close at seven so I know I will not be getting my car back today. I called the next morning for update on my vehicle I was told they were sent the wrong parts and they are waiting for the correct parts. I continue to wait the rest of the day and never received a phone call. I called again for another update on my vehicle and was told still the same thing, they’re waiting on the parts. Finally Saturday I pick my car up at 3 PM. Just to find out on Wednesday that my battery was never replaced. Don’t go to this location. Complete run around and rip-off!

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. What could have been diagnosed in a week’s time was mishandled and caused further car problems that cost me time and money to get repaired elsewhere. Do not trust the service manager Jonathan or anyone at this location to communicate the issues or follow up with how they are repairing with your vehicle.Over the course of 4 weeks, I was called less than 5 times from store level. I opened a complaint ticket with corporate, escalated 3 times (area director Jeff Coleman, regional manager Jimmy Castillo, and regional Vice President Earl Davidson), and still have not received a call from above store level after 3 weeks. Top to bottom, completely unacceptable way to do business.

Do NOT use this pep boys. Had a 1.30pm appointment and they made me wait 2hours 40minutes before even starting to look at my tire. That was with an appointment made. What was the point of them having appointments if theyre still going to make u wait over 2.5hours to even get to you. They told me this was normal for that location and they often operate with long waits. And of course they dont warn you in advance of these long waits. Ive never had horrible service like this at any other tire store anywhere. This is a terrible location to go to. Avoid at all costs.

I dropped my car off at 9am on Sunday, Aug. 15th, 2021. I was at the door when it was unlocked so I was the first customer into the store. I was told that the mechanic to look at my car wouldn’t be in until Monday so it would sit overnight & be looked at the following day; I was told that they would call to let me know the verdict, price & action. I waited until 2pm the following day, but had to call myself & was put on hold for 15 minutes to which I was then told that it had not been locked at yet. I was not made aware of a waitlist, but was also told that they would call me back before end of the day to update me; no call was made. I waited until 2pm Tuesday to call again, since they were not calling me as stated, 2 days after dropping it off to find out that it was my transmission so I came to just pick it up.

On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, I arrived at your Buckhead location at 6:45pm. My intention was to purchase a battery for my sons 2005 Nissan Altima, so that he could drive his car, since he had just gotten his drivers license today. According to the website, this location closed at 7pm. I walked in and was promptly told that the store was closed by a young female associate. I stated that according to your website...you are open until 7pm. She stated that we closed at 6pm and I was refused service,so I left.

Would not recommend coming here. They were going to charge me $75 to replace a headlight when I ALREADY had the bulb. This was just the absurd cost to turn the wheel and replace it, something I just wasn’t confident doing on my own but probably could do. They also went back and forth on the price several times with me telling me it would be $90, then $45 including their own part, then $75 with their own part, and then $75 using the bulb I brought. Finally convinced them down to $55 since I provided the bulb but only because the woman working the front desk took pity on me. The whole process before they even started the repair took over an hour. Waste of my time and money and was a stressful experience over a single burnt headlight.For reference: their online price stated that headlight replacements started at $20.

Lousy, overpriced brake service.I brought my car in because of a grinding noise in my rear brakes. They supposedly inspected the brakes and found only the front brakes needed replaced. They charged nearly $500 for the service. The also pencil-whipped the report to show inaccurate measurements of the brake pads and tire treads. The noise continued to get worse. I took my car to another repair shop and they diagnosed the rear brakes and found the shoes scrapping the drums. Pep Boys didnt properly diagnose my brakes. I would never go there again.

The front desk host Melissa is extremely rude. I dropped my car off at 9am on May 21st for a transmission flush (hour or two maintenance). I was told it would be done at 12pm, then 3pm. I call at 3pm and inform Melissa I have travel plans for a wedding and need to know if it will be complete or if I need to make other plans, as obviously their time schedule is off. She was rude and not helpful, replying “I’m trying to tell you it will be done by end of day”, she followed that up by “no one has looked at it yet, but it’s on the rack”. It is no 4pm. I have wedding at 12pm tomorrow 6 hours away. I am not mad at the mechanics but more so Melissa and how rude she was to a customer who has been patient and needs an honest answer. The other two people I dealt with in the morning were extremely nice and helpful so don’t want give them all a bad name. But Melissa was extremely unpleasant, so unpleasant I am leaving a review which I never do.

Do not take your vehicle to this business!!! Do not deal with Joe. Very dishonest. I was told it would be $300 to fix my car, then told it was $1800, then $1600. When I balked, I was told it would be $300 because they had to work on the vehicle just to get it in the shop, which I NEVER authorized. Then they sent me a bill for $221?? No parts were EVER installed on the vehicle. So that is labor just to get it in the shop. Totally INSANE!!! Do not recommend. I am reporting this to the Attorney General consumer fraud division. This location has dramatically improved. I was able to take advantage of the Black Friday deal, buy two, and get two free. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the tires I requested would be in stock (they picked up the tires from a different location) and installed the same day. The wait time was about an hour, and the quality of the service repair was excellent. Thank you!

Do not have your oil changed or any other service done with Pep Boys. I had an oil change done in September and the very next day, my check engine light came on. The manager Pete was very rude, it appears to have been his last day at this location. I called corporate on numerous occasions and have yet to get a call back. The new manager Jonathan had his technicians do a complimentary inspection a month later and gave me a series quote well over $2000 dollars. I researched the parts on the invoice to find that all the prices were padded. Fast forward to yesterday, my mechanic took a look at my car and gave me the cost to repair the car. Lets just say, I paid my mechanic a little under $500 to fix what Pep Boys did to me my car. They broke my oil pan and a sensor on my engine that controls the air flow. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM FOR ANYTHING. If you are thirsty and need a drink, I wouldnt even buy that from them. I would drink water from a puddle outside before I recommend them to anybody.

I called last minute as my tire popped suddenly and they were willing to squeeze me in even though they were extremely busy - I could see the garage and the waiting room were full. Jonathan (the manager I think) was very helpful and he was even willing to let me come by 20 minutes after they closed to pick up my car. Efficient service and great attitudes by the staff.

This is a bad business with thieves trying to take advantage of people that don’t know anything about cars. They tried to charge almost 1000 USD to replace a basic thermostat in my Girlfriends car. We refused the service and could fix the issue for 200 dollars at another garage with honest people. I repeat do not go to this place for your car they are simply not honest!!

I made an appointment online and arrived on time. I was waiting for over 2 hours before an employee told me that they hadnt even started working on my car. The guy spent 20 minutes or less looking at it.After 3 hours of waiting I finally got my car back, just to see that one of my tires still had low pressure and it was in the same location as before the rotation. In other words, they definitely did not complete the tire pressure check and rotation, leading me to wonder if they did anything at all (oil/filter change, brake inspection, fluid check, tire pressure/rotation, preventative maintenance, etc) A simple appointment which I thought would MAYBE take an hour ended up wasting a good chunk of my time and money.Employees treated me very impersonally and charged premium price for services that clearly werent even performed. If you value your time and hard-earned money, dont go here.

As a female, we are always concerned about being taken advantage of when it comes to repairs on our vehicles. I was driving on Piedmont when my car starting to make a funny noise and I pulled into Pepboys and was beyond thankful to see a familiar face...Jonathan!!! They accessed my car and found out that there was nothing wrong with it, just caught something on the road. I was grateful that once again I got that 5 start service and such a timely manner at no cost!! His staff is great and very professional. I will follow him and his team wherever they go!!!

Worst experience here w “GM” Pete.I was just a regular customer coming in for an appointment I waited two days to get my car seen. I showed up on time to my appointment and was the only person in line after a couple. I was there around 10 min and was not acknowledged or given a “I’ll be right with you mam’.” I approached the counter to ask if I was supposed to leave my car with mechanic in back or what exactly. And Pete the attendant was very rude and I could feel his energy was not good. He mentioned that I could take a seat. I tried to fix it by saying, “I’m just making sure.”When I finally got to the counter, I told him exactly what was going on and why I was there. He told me they were backed up so I let him know that I could work with him and bring my car the next day. He told me to come at 8am on a Saturday morning. I called back to ask about the estimate and would it be given before servicing. He told me the estimate would take a “couple hours to complete.I came and dropped the car at 7:55am. He told me he would give me a call. It then turned 1pm and I received no call. I called in and was told my car had two cars before mine would get seen. I asked to speak to manager. Pete answered. He told me that he told me have the car the majority of the day. But I still was not given estimate at 1pm half of the day. He then said none of my lights are showing on dash and he didn’t even know what was wrong with the car. When the previous day I told him what needed to be done.Basically my car was looked at but no estimate. I wouldve appreciated a call asking me what was wrong with the car rather than just waiting for me to call. I told him that the way they were working was inefficient. He said it was funny I said that because we are in a pandemic. I had to count to ten to control my anger. He knew this and laughed and apologized. A sarcastic apology at that. I just controlled my self and let him know I would be picking up the car.Why are appointments being made if you are short on staff and a “general manager” Pete with no customer service whatsoever? And why did I spend 40$ to drop and pick up my car for it to not get serviced? Though I have questions, I promise it took everything not to write a bad review. I think it can be resolved hopefully with someone higher up.Update: No one ever reached out to me.

Nice well intentioned team but struggles with execution. Would not recommend unless you clearly understand your cars issue and take the time to double check their work. Ive gone here multiple times and almost always have an issue.Case 1: I bought parts for my car to be fixed (headlight casing and side mirror), dropped my car off first thing in the morning with instructions on my appointment reservation and with the front desk, then got a call late in the they didnt have the parts though I already told them theyre in my car. They also told be first they couldnt replace my mirror then came back later saying theyd have to take off major parts to replace my side view mirror. It took me 1 minute to google that it only took unscrewing three bolts. They ended up doing it for free but its insane I knew more than them.Case 2: I went to get new tires and a TMP sensor replaced before a major trip the next morning. When i picked up my car I noticed my tire light was still on indicating the TMP sensor had not been replaced. I immediately called and was told oh that should go off in a little bit dont worry about it The next day it was still on. I called first thing in the morning expressing I needed it to be fixed within the next 2 hours before my trip since i already paid for the service. They put me on hold for so long I had time to drive to the store in person where they directed me to another shop since they did not have the tools to fix the issue. The other shop did a diagnostic and informed me they first shop did not do the job they charged me for. While the first shop ultimately gave me a refund for failing to do proper work, it was an exhaustive unnecessary process.UPDATE: Pep Boys reached out as seen below. I then promptly responded via email with the requested information. I was then given a case number and told theyd reach out in 48 hours. A week later there is still no response.

Extremely high estimate... ordered spark plugs for do it yourself... still dont have them (~$50 for 4) prepaid, after 11 days... guess Ill have to have credit card reversed. Rude, condescending male clerk in store said Id have to talk to specific cashier that handled order... shed be back, later. No calling to let anyone know their part was in, due the day before. Ive spent over $5000 on 7+ cars there over 20 years. Got plugs installed for 40% of Pepboys price, at Express Lube and Tires on Howell Mill, across from another overpriced pepboys. Now determined I need coils replaced via a FixD app, which pepboys did not determine. Am sure their quote wouldve risen to $700, v ~ $260. Will pick up at NAPA or OReillys at 7 a.m. and install in 30 minutes, before I drive to Miami.I was horribly overpriced 18 months ago on another matter, at $1200, pulling a gas tank for getting bad gas in it, where the manager openly lied, then when you call Pepboys corporate to complain, the person that responds.... is the actual lying in store manager. He did extra work without my permission, said he got it, yet i had two clerks that admitted I never talked to them.

I had a 3:00 appointment to have a brake light bulb replaced. It’s after 4:00 I finally asked about the car. One of the mechanics said he had finished it an hour ago. No one told me it was ready. Now no one will give me my keys and check me out. This is insane. Will NEVER come back here.

Do not take your car here to repairs or maintenance. They really messed up my brakes and rotors. They are also extremely rude. Have had several bad experiences here and will not be returning…. We had our company van towed here due to a tie rod being broken(a 14 dollar part). They quoted us 1600 for a CV axel alone, we decided to take it elsewhere. The company was also charged 250/so dollars just for having the tie rod looked at, in order to get a scope of work estimate. Crazy.

My car is now at day 3 of sitting at pepboys...I took my 2020 Toyota Corolla for front brake pads...it wasnt shocking to me when I was told that I needed pads front and rear and rotors all the way around the car...typical misdiagnosis of the actual problem and greed...first day it was a problem getting the parts...I get it....second day, same excuse with the excuse the wrong parts, the rotors which I seriously doubt I need because the car is barely a year old...day 3 after speaking with the store manager at 8am when the store opens to give him a few hours which would have been 11am and call back at noon giving an extra hour I was told give him till 3pm because the tech was working on multiple cars at the same time...but its been 3 days I really feel my car should have presidency

My wife went in today because we had a flat tire and they were the closest tire place to us. She asked the lady at the counter if they could help us replace our tire since we had three children in the car and we live about 3.5 hrs away. The lady was very rude and unhelpful. She told her they couldn’t do it today and we would have to go somewhere else. I would never recommend Pep Boys to anybody after this experience.

They are so knowledgeable and helpful. I needed to replace my headlight bulbs I purchased it and one of the mechanics came out and courteously installed it for me. Then check all my other lights to make sure they were all working sure enough he found the tag light out. He replaced that too. Thanks Pep Boys Auto Parts on Piedmont Rd.

I got to Pep Boys in a rush to get my oil done before work. Pete greeted me at the door and said that my oil would be done within 45 mins. The service was amazing! My car was done in less than 30 mins. The staff was so welcoming and the service was the best. I will definitely be coming back for all my oil changes from now on! Called just to find out the price for some oil and a filter for a 2011 range rover. The first time I called I was on hold for 10+ minutes and when they finally came to the phone they hung up on me. I had the best experience at this store today! Actually made a car problem enjoyable. This is the most friendly team you can imagine. It picked up my entire day. Totally helpful...and they really care about their customers!!! The cashier today was awesome. So helpful and really went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed for my car. Then the head mechanic was so friendly and helpful I couldnt believe that people like this exist. In a world as crazy as it is...it is nice to see a glimpse of people still truly caring about helping others like this store showed me today. Thank you guys so much! If I could leave less than 1 star I would. They completely messed up my car. I went in for a simple oil change - was WAY over charged but I paid it and went on with my life. A few months go by and its time for my next oil change - I took my car to a different mechanic this time. They found the oil compartment to be in shreds (costing me over $500) and that the fuse for my back lights was missing. HOW??? Answer: Pepboys. SO disappointed in them. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE - LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. I wish so badly I could get my $$ back.

WARNING!!! Dont be fooled by the politeness and charm of the people working in the repair shop at this location! Sure, they are friendly and say the right things to make you feel important, but these people stole from my 21 year old, naive sister-in-law this week. She was told that she needed a new alternator, so they installed a reconstructed alternator, belt, and belt tensioner, and charged her over $900!! If you arent sure how much parts and labor should cost for this, just Google it.... its more like $400! To add icing to the cake, her car broke down a few days later and I had my sister-in-law take it to a trusted mechanic Ive used for years (I know, I should have done this sooner), and he said it is ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL what they charged to replace an alternator... he wouldnt have charged more than $350 and said he could send me to 5 other mechanics in the area who definitely wouldnt charge more than $400. At the end of the day, maybe some people have a decent experience at this Pep Boys, but I would NOT take the risk if I were you! Go somewhere else! I hate writing negative reviews, but they arent willing to help make this right in any way... When I asked if I could get the phone number for the managers boss to talk to him about it, the manager told me No and then laughed at me when I told him Ill figure out how to get in touch with him on my own... great customer service, Eric. What a shame.

I am new to the area and I am very particular about who works on my car. My car did not start one morning. Once I finally got it started, I took it over to the Pep Boys on Piedmont Rd. Most auto shops make you wait hour upon hours. Not this place. I literally was in and out within 50 minutes. Not complaints over here. This place was also super busy, which made me even more amazed. Beyond the work ethic of the mechanics, the people at the auto shop front desk were even better. They were attentive and super nice. They made sure I was taken care of and had no complaints. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone needing a quick car fix, a major problem or just a check. Do not underestimate good, quality customer service.

Very unfortunate experience.Brought vehicle in due to Check Engine light being on.Paid nearly $1,200 in repairs for exhaust/emissions system.Light came back on almost immediately.Brought vehicle back in on 3 additional occasions.Could not identify problem until most recent visit.Was told new part that was installed was defective.Assured shop would stand behind work, order new part from Jeep and reinstall at no additional cost.Shop never called to reinstall part.Went back in to shop over a week later, part never ordered.Will be disputing Bill through credit card company as the services I paid for were not delivered.

The mechanic was very nice and I understand it’s not on him, but I hate their IT systems. I made an appointment yesterday for a 3pm appointment today for an oil change. It’s only an oil change and they close at 6 so I should’ve been able to get it done same day in my mind. Truthfully, I didn’t even want to give them a 1-star rating. I went in because a technician at another place told me there was a nail in my tire. I wasn’t 100% sure which tire and told them to check all 4.I made an appointment at noon. Two hours later, I’m getting up and asking how much longer. And they told me another 15 minutes. I waited. And that time passed. So I asked again. They said that it was a leaky valve that needed to be tightened.So 2+ hours of waiting, they finally were able to come up with that diagnosis!? And they didn’t even check all tires like I requested. I told them that I wanted to go somewhere else and not pay. The girl at the counter said, “Just go back there and grab your vehicle then.” Very rude, not helpful at all.I grabbed the service manager to help me and he explained that it was the valve. I mentioned that I was not happy with how I was treated and I would like to leave. So the technician brought my car around and I left. Very poor customer service and the technicians cannot fix a flat tire in 2 hours! Will not be going back.

They seem to get the job done, so I can give them two stars for that. Another positive note is that I have had positive experience with OTHER Pep Boys locations in the past; they were honest and wanted to help me out. This one is a different story.I have come to them twice for a simple oil change and tire rotation. The only reason I dont do it myself is because my apartment wont let me do car work in the parking lot. If I did it myself, it would have taken an hour. Pep Boys website says that if you have an appointment, your oil change will be done in 30 minutes. I have spent 3+ hours waiting on my car both times I brought it here with an appointment. Like most car shops, they will offer you all kinds of other maintenance which you may or may not need. Last time, I brought coupons and told them exactly which services I wanted, but then they charged me for something completely different, making my coupons invalid. After working with them, they were finally able to give me the price I expected to pay, but it was pretty annoying, especially after the multi-hour wait.Still trying to find a good honest mechanic in Atlanta.

I absolutely love the guys at this location but especially the guy Roddy. He is knowledgeable and super friendly. Honestly hes the reason I still bring my truck there. If you go to this location I suggest that you request him. (Thats if hes not busy). Hard to find good genuine honest mechanic! Thanks guy

On October 16th, unfortunately I experienced not 1 but 2 flat tires. My car was then towed to Pep Boys on Piedmont Rd. in Atlanta, GA. I chose this location simply because it was the closest to me. Upon arrival your employee made clear to me that since it was later in the day that it would be a while before my services would be completed. After the initial inspection, I was told of the various services that I would need. She thoroughly and patiently explained what was absolutely necessary to be done at that time and what could wait a few more days. After about two hours, she explained that since they did not have the proper tires in stock for my vehicle they would need to be ordered and that would take additional time. I want to HIGHLY COMMEND her for her polite attitude and realistic explanation of the wait time, and thorough explanation of what the final bill would be. The majority of customers appreciate a direct, thorough, and competent explanation of the issues they are facing. Your employee is obviously a valuable asset to Pep Boys and I certainly hope that she is rewarded for the superb service.

HORRIBLE. Never going back. I took my car in Friday at 7am to get my window fixed. They said it would be done by the end of the day. I call around 430pm and they tell me that the pet they needed got canceled when they ordered it so they would have to keep it overnight. They took my door apart and the guy that fixes that already left for the day. I called back Saturday morning around 12pm, because I was told it would be ready, only to find out they never touched my car. They said they didnt have anyone to go pick the piece up that they needed. I was completely disappointed. Why wasnt I called in the first place? Why did I have to call and ask about my car multiple times. I could have taken it somewhere else and it would have been fixed in 30 min. For you all to be charging over $300 to fix a power window problem, Im going to need you all to give better service. I dont like how you all assumed you could keep my car overnight and you all failed to contact me about it. I needed my car that night and you all kept it and never fixed it. I will never recommend this horrible place to anyone. Your employees are trash as well.

I loved working with Pep Boys on Piedmont in Atlanta. I just moved to Atlanta and was told by all I knew here that Pep Boys is the place to go for quick, good, and nominally cheap servicing. I got my tire changed and was glad to be working with Joe R, who got me a rewards program so that if I ever need to get towed, it will be $25 instead of $50 and he even gave me some great quotes and advice for when I need to get my other three tires changed out. I will definitely be back to Pep Boys and requesting Joes help!

Been here twice, once for a flat and another time for a check up before a big drive. Honestly the most helpful, nice folks around. Very fair, they dont run you around. If something is wrong they tell you, if everything is good they tell you. Two amazing experiences with this place. Just good people.

Great service. My daughter dropped her car off for an oil change. They checked her brakes for free found she only needed front pads and rotors. Another shop said she needed all the brakes done. They even sent me pics of the brakes to show me. Will definitely be back with me an my wife’s vehicles.

TIME WASTE. DO NOT DELIVER AS PROMISED....One star is also too much. I gave my car at 9 am and didnt get it till 6pm. All I needed was a patch on the tire. The biggest mistake was I left my car there and I just got push to the bottom of the pile. Everytime I called I was told 2 or 1 car ahead of me. The car will be ready in a hour then, another hour, another hour and so forth. I should of gone with my gut and put the spare tire and gone somewhere else. Then the bait and switch the tire is not fixable, I just bought this tire a couple of months ago from pep boys. The leak was in the inside and not even on the wall. If you have issues with staff or equipment you should let your customers know and not till they inquire. My time is also valuable. You have a big service promise poster that should be removed...I was told initially that my car will be ready in 3 hrs. Really this place needs to get there act together. Really disappointed and dissatisfied...Be ready to waste your entire day.... I should have read the reviews before coming to this place. Also there service people in the front know how to waste your time.

Needed a tire repair. It was 7:45pm. They close at 8pm. Have a nail in the tire. Told the manager and crew member that I desperately needed the repair, am transporting a team of girls back to Oklahoma in the morning and I dont want any accidents or tragedies. The manger tells me he wont help and to drive to another pep boys...at 7:45pm. By the time I would get there they would be closed. I asked him to sincerely reconsider. He said he didnt roll like that.

OMG they are totally awesome. I am an relocated transplant that had my tires replaced by Pep Boys because of their warranty. I was very pleased with using the warranty when I was out of state and unfortunately one night needed it here. What an awesome experience to research and find that Pep Boys has an tow service to take your vehicle to the nearest shop (this was needed because I didnt have AAA at the time) and then the shop will follow up with when they can service your vehicle. My vehicle was dropped off after hours a.d was serviced the next day. I appreciated the service and pricing!

Do not get your oil changed here. I made an appointment for an oil change and arrived 15 minutes before my appointment. They did not even start working on my car for an hour a half. No one told me they were no one told me there be an extended wait (even though I had an appointment) or came over to give me any updates. All in all it took around 2.5 hours to get an oil change and they charged me $79 for it. While the staff is friendly, the service is terrible and I will not go back to Pep Boys because of this

Sincere and helpful would summarize my experience here. I was stressed, dealing with a phone issue, and my wife needed a quick repair done on her vehicle. She ran in, was assisted in locating the item, purchasing, and installing, all done in less than five minutes. I typically find these sorts of places trying to upsell, etc, but we were simply helped out with our precise need, quickly. Would recommend if you are having issues and just need some knowledgeable assistance.

I patronized this establishment during the daytime on the Martin Luther King Junior holiday after discovering that my front right headlight needed to be replaced. The service technician named Eric realized that the task could be completed in a matter of minutes and had me drive my car to the parking area where cars are relocated for more complicated work. Not only did he promptly replace the defunct headlight on my Honda Accord at an incredibly generous price, he was resourceful enough to figure out a way to confirm that the headlight that was no longer functional was not the same one that was replaced at that Pep Boys location in late 2016 (I was concerned that a wiring problem might be responsible for the same headlight going out just one year later, but Erik figured out that the now defunct light was not the one installed one year ago because it was identified as a brand that Pep Boys does not and has never offered for sale).... Kudos to Eric and Pep Boys for offering me quick, efficient, and resourceful service. I will definitely return in the future!

DISHONEST CROOKS. I went in to this location after having failed my emissions test. I was given a code to give a mechanic from the emissions station which said what was wrong with my car. After being told that they needed to run a $90 diagnostic test on my car to identify what was wrong with it, I showed them my emissions test with the code on it. The MANAGER, Eric, told me that the code didn’t tell them what specifically was wrong with my car. I left my car and called the emissions station. They told me that the code they sent me with was sufficient to know what needed repair on the car and that I should take my car elsewhere. No one in my family will EVER use any Pep Boys location again. They should be ashamed of themselves!

Then told me he would help me when he could, right before answering two phone calls in my face. After shuffling papers trying to avoid looking at me. The only reason Im giving it a 2 its because when I called the gentleman I spoke to was so helpful. I believe his name was Jim, I dont recall but he was helpful. However once I got there it was a whole different story. I stood in line with my fiance, they didnt even acknowledge us. There were others waiting but they had already been taken care of, it was hard to tell because we didnt get acknowledge. When they finally did they kept making mistakes even though we kept repeating the correct information. We left the car with them. It was almost 45 mins to closing when we decided to call back since no one called us. The person we spoke to was very nonchalant telling us they couldnt find my car and hoped no one had stole it, but they didnt bother to call me to tell me so? Long story short, yeah it goes on and on, they kept making mistakes, simple ones like the model of the car and which tire needed to be patched/fixed... Horrible experience, I will never step foot in there again no matter how urgent it is. If you want mistake after mistake, for someone to waste your life time AND ignore you while youre there this may be the place for you.

My SUV started making an odd noise from the engine so I had it towed to the closest location from where it broke down... Pep boys. They said they could fix it then 2 days later said they couldnt but they would tow it to the Piedmont location for proper diagnosis. Another day passes and I get a call You definitely need a new engine. It is making noise. When I inquired about how the conclusion was made to diagnosis the necessity of a full replacement I was told It is making a loud noise. I asked if anyone had looked inside the engine. No. That would cost as much as a new engine. I inquired about the cost of an engine. $3300 for an engine and $2700 in labor. The current labor rate for a repair shop is $80 to $100 per hour so to charge $2700 means they either planned to spend 27 hours on a one day job or they are charging more than double what a dealer charges. Of course I was charged $100 for the $89 diagnostic fee that they didnt actually do. Lazy, incompetent and blatantly dishonest is the nicest thing I can say. Im also out 4 days of a car rental but at least I have it in the hands of a competent shop now. Oh yeah, they also left the keys and paperwork for someone else in my car.

I woke up to see a rear-right flat tire and I dropped my car off at this location first thing in the morning since it was the closest tire shop to where I lived. And since my car was already there, I asked that they do a alignment and tire rotation ( I wanted my new tire in the front). My car was already in the garage as I left in the morning (around 8:30ish) and it took them till 1:45pm to put a new tire on and perform alignment and rotation. And when they called they tell me everything is fine and it is good to go.I go to pick my car up and notice in the parking lot that the new tire is in the rear and not up front as I asked. Im at the service desk and couldnt have gotten a more unconcerned/lackadaisical representative. I mention that I noticed that the rear tire was still in the back and if they had even done tire rotation. Her response is well its on the ticket so they must have done it and its better that the tire is in the rear (how is that rotation?). I then ask her whether I can see the alignment numbers to see how far it was off. Her response is that the technician who performed it is gone for the day and the printer is not working inside - not even a Im sorry that we dont have that for you. I ask whether it is anywhere in the system? Nope, apparently, it is only printed when the alignment is done and no where in the system (which I find hard to believe because this is 2018). So if you get your alignment done here, its simply scouts honor that the work was actually done. And then she says, oh did they not mention the other things they found? When I got the call, all that was said was that my car is done. Then she starts to ring up the other things they found based on comments written and I ask if I can speak to a mechanic. At this point another representative walks over and says oh I passed on a couple of my tickets and this must have fallen through the cracks. I then ask whether I can speak to a mechanic or the person running the ticket. Of course, they are not there and there isnt someone to talk to than this helpful representative.Sunk costs suck but at least I know not to go this location even though it is only a mile away...

This is the reason I avoid Pep Boys because something always goes wrong but they were the only place open on a Sunday that had the tire I needed in stock to replace my flat and I needed my car done that same day and was promised as such. I got a call several hours later saying that they did not have the tire and nothing would be available until Monday and thus was too late for me to try anywhere else. Didnt hear anything on Monday so I gave them a call that afternoon and the car still hadnt been worked on because they forgot about it. Ended up having to wait until Tuesday morning for the car. Only added 1 extra star because I believe Eric was his name was very courteous and tried his best to expedite the matter once I was forced to remind them.

Jospeh was really nice in getting me a synthetic oil change. It just took an hour. I gave them my car at 11:50am and they put it in the air immediately to work on it. After wandering around the store I realized that an hour had passed. When I ask if they were finished they stated they had finished 15 minutes ago. But because they were changing a battery in the car behind mines, they couldn’t get me my car. I just don’t understand why not give me my car and then work on another car.

Charge me $1,600 to replace the AC compressor and fuses. I had already checked the fuses and knew that they worked but they charged me anyway. When I asked about it they gave me the runaround saying the mechanic had left for the day and they couldnt verify. The on duty manager said he did not have the authority and I would have to come back on another day to get the charges refunded. They said they offered a veterans discount on the website but they would not honor that at this location.
