I hate to do this because I thought I had a great experience. The salesman who got me approved was awesome, but past that it’s been terrible. The car that I was sold has had problems since about a day and a half after I left with it. Mind you, it is a used car.. but I completely believe check engine lights were simply reset before being sold. The check engine light popped up right about a day and a half after I brought it home. Had the code read.. was told it was likely a faulty gas cap. Replaced that. Issue remained. Called the dealership because I was sold a warranty which was rolled into my purchase price.. only to be told I would have to pay over $100 just to have it looked at. So I had the other piece replaced that could have possibly been the culprit. Check engine light went off for a couple days and then came back on. Shortly after I found out the water pump was faulty. Again was told it would be $100 just to have it looked at. So what was the point of this warranty if I can’t even use it?! Since then it has been one problem after another. Also, the day I got it home we realized there were issues with two of the tires they claimed to be brand new. One had a knot, and the other had a decent size chunk missing from the side of it.

My wife and I worked with Keith McGrath to get a lease on a 2021 Tacoma - and I would have to say that he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and got the deal we wanted. Stayed in touch throughout the whole process via calls and texts, and once we arrived on-site the paperwork was done in less than 30 minutes. Downside was most of the vehicles we were wanting to look at were actually on a different lot 30 minutes away. Look carefully if you are looking online even if you choose to look in a certain lot. Made for a little frustrating day.

I recently drove 3 1/2 hrs to Don Woods to purchase my new SUV. While I did receive photos of the car I was interested in prior to going there, the photos did not show a dent in the car and all the scratches! I did end up purchasing another car on the lot (with no pressure from the sales staff). I just feel they really should have taken photos showing the true condition of the car since I drove 3 1/2 hours. The customer service is fabulous! Kudos to Donna in Finance and Levi and Chris in sales! Chris went above and beyond setting up my navigation system for me! The service department that does the car detailing needs SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS!!! The car I purchased still had window streaks, water markings on the mirrors, stains on the interior roof and crumbs in the front glove box! Very sloppy work. Not much quality control and attention to detail when it comes car detailing. Overall, I was satisfied with Don Woods but their car detailing department needs help with further training on how to clean/detail cars.

Shady dealer buyer beware. Will take title from car after you finance through no fault of the customer.

Unfortunately I bought a used vehicle from Don Wood Toyota. I live out of state and they had the exact vehicle that I wanted, so I bought the vehicle sight unseen and planned to have it shipped to me. I wasn’t easily able to get it shipped, due to Covid, so I ended up flying to Ohio and driving the vehicle back home. My sales rep assured me that the vehicle had been fully inspected and that I would not have any issues. I felt comfortable because first of all it is a Toyota and second because it was inspected by a reputable Toyota dealership. I picked up the vehicle on a Sunday and had it back home by Tuesday after driving it almost 2k miles. I discovered the first issue when I picked up the vehicle and it was snowing and the windshield wipers did not work properly. The issue could easily be fixed by replacing the wiper switch which is an $160 part. I emailed my sales rep during my drive back to see if the dealership would be willing to send me the part and he never responded. I soon discovered that the windshield wipers would be the least of my worries. When I arrived home I looked under the vehicle and noticed coolant dripping down the front. I immediately took it over to my local Toyota dealership and had it inspected and they told me the radiator is cracked, the CV joint boots on both sides are split and leaking and the serpentine belt needs to be replaced and all of this will cost $2,888.84 to repair. I also checked the 4wd system and 4wd low will not engage. I don’t even know how much that will cost to fix. So after owning the vehicle for 2 days and driving it 2k miles I need over $3k in repairs and my 4wd only half works. I asked my sales rep if the dealership is willing to do anything to make this right and I cannot get a response. Don’t make the same mistake as me and be very careful when buying a used vehicle from Don Wood.

This place is fantastic! I live out of town, but always make it a point to bring my car into this location when I need maintenance. The staff is very friendly, and they are always very fair about what work needs to be done on my car (and, importantly, whats not necessary). The service is always completed on top, and for a good price. I highly recommend!

The sales Representatives were very friendly, professional, and actively communicated before I arrived. I was disappointed that after test driving and discussing vehicles that I was told they do not currently accept financing outside of their preferred lenders. My preferred bank is wonderful and I don’t want to have accounts (even loan accounts) at banks that I don’t trust (remember the Wells Fargo scandal a few years back? Pass.) After some discussion, their sales and financing staff worked with me to allow me to finance with my preferred bank. They gave me time to get comfortable with the purchase and were willing to go the extra mile to take care of me. Was the car priced over book value? Yes. Was it worth paying the extra money to have a positive purchasing experience? Also yes.

On Wednesday, 02/19/20, I had my 2009 Tacomas leaking radiator replaced by Don Woods service center. The work was done quickly and professionally. Rick and Carl, the service centers front desk managers, are polite, professional, most important, very knowledgeable. Im taking the truck back tomorrow, 02/26/20, for new tires and complete service. Its comforting to know I have a service that I can always rely on.

Some rats chewed our car wires. Another place wanted to charge us over 4900$ to fix it. We took it here and they said we didnt need to do all that and fixed it for 1200$. The car works perfectly again! Theyre honest folks. Well come here whenever we have a big issue

I can’t say enough about the service and friendly staff at Don Wood Automotive. I live in Columbus Ohio and was in the Athens Ohio area hiking on a Saturday afternoon with family for my birthday when the water pump failed on my 2009 Toyota Corolla. I called Don Wood Toyota and spoke with sales manager Roger Cochran. He was very helpful and helped save my day. Even though the only car rental agency in the area was closed, he arranged a couple day test drive for me while my car was being repaired at the dealership. He was very kind to both me and my daughter who was with me. In fact everyone I met there from the receptionist to the other employees greeted me warmly. I never felt any pressure to purchase a different vehicle but did notice some very good prices on used vehicles while there and was informed a deal could be made. The service manager, Rick Taylor, was at his desk promptly Monday at 7:30 AM and was able to schedule my car in for service that day. The rate he quoted me was fair and a little less than I would have paid in Columbus. I was bracing for the worst considering they already had my car but was treated again in the most professional way. Rick has kept me updated which I much appreciate. I bought my Corolla new 10 years ago and this is the very first repair I have had to make. It’s the best car I’ve ever owned. I’m not sure if I’m ready to trade it in yet or stick to my original plan of 5 years from now, but I believe in paying kindness forward will make the drive to Don Wood Automotive to give them the first shot at my next car purchase.And I should mention the local brew pubs help make the drive down part of the experience.Jeff

Don Wood has excellent customer service all the way around. When we were purchasing our car, they listened to our needs and didn’t try to pressure us to spend more than our budget.We also have had to have the car worked on, and their service department is efficient and keeps you informed. Our car was ready in less than two days when we had our Subaru in the shop. As promised, we paid nothing because of the warranty we had purchased that the Don Wood salesmen recommended. We will definitely do business there again!

Watch out! When you purchase a tire from here, you should carefully read the DOT number on your tire. They sold TWO Years old tire as a brand new tire (Even they told me that they consider a new tire up to FIVE years from manufacturing date). Very poor customer service.Additional (after six months as of 7/23/2019). I havent heard anything from the service manager. This is how they treat their customers. I want to give 0 stars, but cannot make that happen. Your every penny is worthy and they should deserve their service.

The only reason I go to Don Wood is because there’s an Enterprise rental there; and we rent a ride about every 3 months. They sent out a flyer. The one I received indicated I had won $1,000. I had NOT won $1,000. If I visited the dealership, I had won ONLY a chance to win something. After looking on the internet, many consider this no more than a scam, and I, too, think its a scam. Yes, there is a slight possibility I might win a dollar or two and a far less likely chance I would $1,000 (similar to ones chance of winning the national lottery while winning less money). And, yes, I consider this misleading, a fraud and possibly illegal.

Amazing service!!! Broke down in the middle of the night and got towed to this dealership. Called and spoke with Rick the next morning to explain my situation. He was very helpful and my repairs were even under what I budgeted! If I could give 6 stars I would, the staff went above and beyond which for a smooth experience!!!

THIS DEALERSHIP SCAMMED ME ON THE PURCHASE OF A 2012 CHEVY EQUINOX AND CONCEALED MAJOR ENGINE ISSUES IN ORDER TO GET THE SALE. NOT TO MENTION WE PAID WAY MORE THAN THE CAR WAS WORTH! THEY KNEW OUR SITUATION WAS DESPERATE AND WE NEEDED A VEHICLE THAT DAY WHICH THEY TOOK TO THEIR FULL ADVANTAGE! ONLY GOT 10 MILES DOWN THE ROAD THE DAY WE BOUGHT IT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT WAS PULLING MULTIPLE TROUBLE CODES! THE DEALER HAD ALREADY CLOSED AT THAT POINT SO I CALLED THEM FIRST THING THE NEXT MORNING AND THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP US! THEY UNHOOKED THE BATTERY TO MAKE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GO AWAY AND TO CONCEAL THE MAJOR ISSUES THE CAR WAS HAVING! CHECKED THE OIL 2 DAYS AFTER WE GOT IT BECAUSE THE MOTOR SOUNDED LIKE A DIESEL ENGINE AND WAS KNOCKING! COME TO FIND IT WAS COMPLETELY BONE DRY ON OIL! LITTLE DID I KNOW THE CAR WOULD CONTINUE TO DRINK OIL WE WERE PUTTING 4 QUARTS IN IT EVERY 1000 MILES! WE ONLY GOT TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR 4500 MILES AND GOT THE OIL CHANGED ONE TIME AS SPECIFIED BY MANUFACTURER. OVER THE COURSE OF THE 4500 MILES WE PUT OVER 30 QUARTS OF OIL IN IT! THEN FINALLY IT HAD CONSUMED SO MUCH OIL THAT THE TIMING CHAIN JUMPED TIME AND RUINED THE ENTIRE MOTOR. DON WOOD TOLD ME I HAD TO PURCHASE A SERVICE CONTRACT THRU WYNNS PLUS OR I WOULDNT BE ELIGIBLE FOR FINANCING WHEN THE MOTOR FAILED COMPLETEY I THOUGHT THIS SERVICE CONTRACT THEY MADE ME GET AND COST ME ALMOST $1800 MORE WOULD PAY FOR THE FAILURE BUT NOPE AFTER A MONTH OF GOING BACK AND FORTH THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE MOTOR REPLACEMENT! $6000 IT COST ME TO REPLACE THE ENGINE AND NOW IT STILL NEEDS ANOTHER $1300 IN WORK (our payoff is still $7500 and its not even worth $3k now) OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE MOTOR HAD ALREADY ENDURED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE WHEN I TOOK IT IN 2 DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED IT FROM DON WOOD! WHICH AGAIN PROVED THEY SOLD ME A VEHICLE AND CONCEALED THE ENGINE PROBLEMS! I AM NOW WORKING WITH A DEALERSHIP FRAUD LAWYER DON WOOD WILL PAY FOR THEIR SCAMMING FRAUDULENT WAYS!

Just hit 100,000 and wanted to start doing some regular high mileage maintenance along with the standard oil change. The service team at Don Wood again did an excellent job. Carl is notably extremely knowledgeable and always is fair and forward with consulting what to do first and what can wait!

Very good buying experience with Don Wood Toyota. Basically, I gave an offer for a car I like to buy and they gave an offer to my trade in. They got the car for me in a week and I bought it. I have been dealing with Don Wood (no relation) for about 23 years having purchased several new vehicles The sales and service staff is great and I have never been even slightly dissatisfied. That is what keeps me coming back.Suffered from more squirrel damage to my 4Runner. Carl (and Rick) in service are great at getting my car fixed quickly. I am really happy with the service.

It all started when I found the Toyota Sequoia online through Car Gurus. I sent an email to the online sales rep Bob Crook who was very responsive and helpful. I told them I was looking to stop by their dealership and take a look at this vehicle at a named timed and when we arrived the vehicle was already started and ready to go. These people were super in customer service, I showed up on crutches from a recent knee surgery and they did everything they could to make it easier on me like pulling the vehicle right up to the door for me to take a test ride. When we returned they has the service manager Rick come out and answer all of our questions. Rick is super knowledgeable about his Vehicles and made service recommendations for our used vehicle to help ensure we have a quality, long lasting, and dependable vehicle. Don Wood Toyota is a Top Notch Dealership. I plan to buy my next Toyota there and would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase your next Toyota. Chis was excellent. He was courteous, prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly. I visited him in several different times to choose a new Toyota. Every times, he greeted me with smile. He helped me choose the right Toyota vehicle by telling me his experience on different Toyota models. He even changed his work schedule to accommodate my needs. Just got a used Toyota not long ago and been having it serviced now a few times at the service department in Athens. Very professional and friendly staff! Fair prices for a dealership but you know it’s done right!

Been servicing my 2010 Rav 4 for 4 years now. The service guys always schedule appointments timely, get the job done timely and as stated. Only ever had one call back and they got me in without hesitation and took care of the problem immediately. They arent going to be the least expensive but you can count on honesty, professional technicians trained in Toyota vehicles, use of quality parts, do what they say going to do and stand behind what they do. Carl, Rick and technicians should make Don Wood proud.
