Almost every time I go there, I wonder why I ever go to big box stores at all. Its so much more pleasant to visit a small hardware store than a large one. I love this place. 90% of the time, they have what Im looking for. Its super convenient to get to and park. The best part is that its easy to find someone knowledgeable to help you.

Always helpful with information about things I buy,,,, helpful with ordering stuff they carry but dont have in the store due to being sold out or out of season,,, they have curbside & customer service desk pick up

The 1 star was for the employee that was so helpful. The 4 missing stars are for ACE. The metal bristle scrub brush that I puchased lasted less than 2 hours before the bristles started coming out. Which made my job much more difficult. Thanks for nothing.

This store was built in a hole in the wall, with no drive around and little parking. All the other locations have room to spread out, but not here. Good place to get your automobile dinged up.

Ace is the helpful place. They make this statement true. Ive been to other Aces where people never once asked me if I needed any help finding anything.

I highly recommend this Ace Hardware. They dont have the largest selection, but that makes it easier to get what I need in a hurry. The cashiers and staff are abundant and very helpful. I hate walking around big box stores for hours only to see an employee once in a while driving a forklift with the aisle blocked off. Ace is the place!

Parking lot is a nightmare, inventory seems to be in perpetual disarray and the employees, while friendly, are often clueless about the location of anything. Final nail in the possibly metaphorical coffin was this mornings visit where I saw maybe a third of the store wearing masks, employees included. Left emptyhanded, Ill just hit up Home Depot later on. Bummer.

I love this store. The staff is always so helpful when Ive ever gone there and for my son the best part of every visit is the free hot popcorn waiting on him every time he steps in the door, lol. On this visit we were looking for creative Mothers Day gifts and I needed a wall paper smoother for my craft projects. I ended up buying 2 and unfortunately we didnt find any gifts but the search will continue.

Ace in North Asheville has always been great. Lots of support, etc. The gentleman from Candler who repairs chainsaws is particularly good.

The employees are friendly and the store is well stocked. I found African violet soil that had eluded me for a year.

Ace Hardware on Merrimon Ave., Asheville, NC, is the perfect hardware store. They greet you warmly as you enter and are always available to assist. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. The product selection has all the basics and more making it a fun place to shop. Thanks ACE!

I cannot say enough great things about this Ace location. I will go in with questions, projects, in some need of assistance, (and maybe an unknown disease with a plant), and the staff here are friendly and always able to help me. I highly recommend this Ace location.(And, they were among the first to take safe precautions during the COVID 19 crisis, so I have felt safe shopping there).

This is and will continue to be my go to hardware store. With that said It came as a giant surprise that they refuse to follow the warranty program for selling craftsman tools and went so far as to tell us that craftsman is junk and to go elsewhere and buy milwaukee brand instead. I contacted craftsman over a broken ratchet and they confirmed to take it back to the store it was purchased at... Ace refuses to both replace it and claims they no longer warranty any craftsman tools.

Great staff. In and out in ten minutes with everything on my list.

The employees get very agitated towards closing. If you want good service. Arrive an hour or more before they close. They may even lock you inside 15 minutes before they are supposed to officially close.

The employees are very helpful, and they have everything you need. Their plants are rotated, fresh and new. I have gotten the prettiest flowers there this year.

Told the lady at the paint counter (didn’t get her name) that I had a quick question and she rudely responded “yeah that’s what they always say” as she called someone on the radio and acted inconvenienced by me and annoyed with me right off the bat since she was busy with something. Told her not to worry about it, I’ll figure it out myself since it was such a problem. Not usually one to do this or write reviews, but wow.

I almost left. They had no one to help me outside with dirt. Plenty of folks inside. They tried to call for help.

My first experience of many here was awesome 💖 I just moved into my new house and had a heavy wooden piece of art to hang. One of the store employees came out to my car to weigh it and then proceeded to help me find the best and most supportive hardware to put it up. He even made a great suggestion of changing out the rope for wire so it will have even more support. I’ve come here at least a dozen times since then, everyone is always friendly and willing to help. The coupons in the mail go a long way with their in-store deals, and their rewards program is free and definitely helps you to get bigger discounts faster. I also love the free popcorn which I indulge in every visit 😄

I love Ace. I am older and appreciate finding help quickly. If I pay a bit more, its worth it. I usually know what I want and if its available, I preorder and pick up at the curb. Covid precautions in place early on at our Ace.

Sad that we no longer have any locally owned hardware stores, there used to be one here. But I much rather visit this store than a big box Lowes or Home Depot. They have a pretty good selection and great prices, very helpful and kind staff. My kid always loves visiting as they have free popcorn 🍿😛

Worst customer service EVER! I got 7 gallons of paint, the last one was the wrong color which I noticed the next day after it dried. Having boxed it with the remaining 2 gallons of correct paint, it killed the whole supply. I went to ACE to see if they could help me. Instead, they blamed me and said it looked like I added white paint to the Cobalt Blue. Please...I cursed my way out of the store.

Great selection

Went in yesterday to buy a chainsaw & wasnt sure exactly as to which one would be the right one for my needs. They range in price from about $200 up to almost $700 & when I asked for some assistance they introduced me to Carl. Right off the bat it was obvious that Carl did have a very good grasp on his knowledge of chainsaws & was super helpful in helping me find the right one for my needs. He did not try to upsell me more than what I need & was able to answer all of my questions in a positive & professional manner. This is the type of place that I will continue to recommend & take my business to in the future.

I live nearby and stop here all the time. The employees are great. Every single one you pass asks if they can help you find something, theyll take time to answer all your questions without rushing you, and always have a smile on their faces and seem to actually like their jobs! If they had bread and milk I wouldnt go to the grocery store 😀

Just another Ace Hardware

I waited 15 mins and they refused to help me find a crimp ring that should have been with the plumbing supplies anyway. This is all while there were at least 5 employees having social conversations. Im a contractor and I dont have to waste with a store who doesnt value repeat customers.

Ive been a customer here since they opened and have always had a positive experience. Today they really went the extra mile to make something right for me. What a great crew!

The local hardware store, friendly and helpful people from the neighborhood are always available and go to extra lengths to get your pressing needs and questions satisfied. Way different than what one experiences at Home Depot or Lowes and without the drive time.Two things, Ace may be a little more expensive but I use the coupons they send so it evens out in the end.AndThe parking situation can get dicey so be careful in that lot! On Saturday, after the bank closes or Sunday, I sometimes park in the lot nextdoor if Im getting small items.

They are always helpful here (sometime a little too much so), and always nice. While its not the cheapest selection of things, it beats driving to Lowes or Home Depot. If you can find and use coupons at the right time, it helps, too.
