Great toys! Great experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Most of all - they are taking Covid seriously which means that I can take my daughter, who is 7 and has leukemia, somewhere fun and safe!

Such a fun toy store, reminded me of toy stores from my childhood. Plenty of STEM type toys. Staff was friendly and went out of their way to help my daughter through the cashier process including counting along with the change. They gave her praise for saving her chore money and finding a fun STEM toy to spend it on. Its meaningful interactions that go a long way!

Excellent selection, especially the stuffed animals and games. They have an entire, well-organized, puzzle room. The staff is very friendly and they clearly have a lot of fun with their job. Sanitization practicing are top-notch and the staff (once again) is just so genial and friendly about everything. They treated the stuffed animals we bought like the beloved new members of the family that they are. A great place for kids of all ages

This was an amazing experience! I did not think to check if they were open to the public. I pulled up and out pops a very friendly staff member (Lisa) and said I can bring some things out to you! Really cool store, but the lady was a little rude about the mask situation. We all had a mask on but mine wasnt all the way over my nose. Im not upset that she asked me to cover my nose but the way she said it was rude. Just made me feel uncomfortable to even stay in the store.

“Best Toy Store 2018” is “Worst Toy Store 2021.”A sanpaku-eyed cultist emerged from its toy-filled temple to turn away my family before we even reached the curb from the parking lot. After one of the kids cried it out and Miss Sanpaku appeared to revel in such a scene, we left to spend our money elsewhere.Not wanting to support Target, preferring local, I called Curio, a cute downtown toy shoppe, whose lovely workers assured us over the phone we would not be turned away.We visited to Curio and found great gifts for our children and the child whose birthday party we were about to attend. Overall, a perfect experience at Curio.I will never buy an item again at Dancing Bear, “Worst Toy Store 2021,” ever again. I will support the local businesses who care about their customers and do not turn them away.

So I visited on 12-23-20 and it was an amazing experience. Hands down. I received misinformation off of Google, in which you can shop in store. Yet, they are only doing online and curbside pickup. In about 5-10 minutes, I was already in my car leaving. The woman (didnt get her name: about 56, petite build, dark hair and wore an amazing Christmas sweater 😍) was multi-tasking with multiple people while giving AMAZING customer service. I am so grateful for her after receiving false information online. Thank you bunches!

Dancing Bear Toys is an amazing toy store! They have the best toys around and the owners and staff provide the most welcoming experience.

This is a wonderful toy store that ive patronized for many years. I recently took my granddaughter to a big store with a toy section (because Id let it get too late, and Dancing Bear was closed), and I was horrified. I could find almost nothing I could stand to consider buying. Dancing Bear is full of wondrous and tempting things! A delight for the whole spectrum of ages!

Great independent toy store. Wasnt huge, but had a decent selection of toys. The employees were extremely nice and helpful. There was also a bar to test play with toys.

Awesome little shop. Took two tries to get there while they were open and it was completely worth it. Lots of neat little cheap stuff to grab.

Its getting much harder to find quality free standing toy stores and this one takes the cake. They have a selection for every age including a heap of Lego. They have dress up stuff, a huge selection of calico critters, baby toys, puzzles, games, loads of stuffed animals and even a section for really low priced fun toys. I loved this toy store

I love this toy store and try to hit it every time I am in Asheville. Selections and displays are so well done that it is easy to get excited at every turn. The staff seems to have a sixth sense about what might turn your fancy... And if youre not sure about something, theyve got a demo area where you can try thing out. Its all fun!

Since we have been quarantined you guys have helped us be a little more entertained at home. From toys for the kids and puzzles for the adults. Thank you for being open. Ordering online and curbside pickup is a breeze.

This store is just wonderful ! I think no matter what Im looking for, they have it. I love to go in there and just walk around and look at the toys ... great toys that would make you want to go outside and play with them ! Toys that bring out a childs imagination, and make a parent or grandparent want to play too. The inventory was excellent. Plenty of toys to choose from. Weird toys, cool toys, classic and modern. Didnt make the 5 stars for me because the employees seemed bothered when we went to check out due to a game they were playing in the middle of the store. Would have given 5 stars of the employees would have been attentive, less distracted and interacted more than just check out.

Prices tend to be on the higher side and youll likely find better deals at the big box department store, but they stand out because they do a good job of hosting events for kids and having a good variety of items. Ive heard wonderful things about your store but I am curious about the name. My understanding is that dancing bears were trained for centuries in Europe by making a bear stand, while music was played, on a metal floor that was heated so that the agonized animal shifted its feet. The bear was thus trained so that, whenever the music was played, the bear would shifting its feet. Is this true, and if so, why would anyone name a store, especially a toy store, Dancing Bear?

This place is great. Their new location, while oddly fitted into an old Hooters (which is even stranger if you ever went there back then), is bigger and better. The people are friendly and the kids can try out many of the toys.
