Absolutely delicious. I had a breakfast sandwich on Focaccia. Really excellent, the cinnamon roll was an excellent breakfast treat. Sat on the street and enjoyed the good weather!

Easily accessible with tasty breads, pastries, sandwiches and coffees. The goat cheese avocado toast with lime salt and picked onions was tasty happy! Our small group tried multiple selections- the veggie sandwich came with honey mustard and was a bit strong on the horseradish flavor unexpected. Coffee was strong enough. Pastries were good, nothing mind blowing. Staff were friendly.

While visiting Asheville, we were looking for a bkfst cafe and thank God my husband found this one on Google. The great reviews were all right. We loved this cute cafe!We ordered the goat cheese sandwich and the avocado toast thinking it was just one toast like in most places. Wow, the avocado toast is actually two huge pieces of their delicious sourdough bread!! It was big enough for the two of us but we had also ordered the goat cheese sandwich. Well, they were both so good that we ate them both!! 😋 😋Would 100% return to the City Bakery next time we are in Asheville!!

Excellent coffee drinks... Their chai and coffee blended drink is superb... Great pastries and wonderful bread. Their avocado toast was a treat. And the wait staff even volunteered to sit outside with my dogs while I went in to order!!

Food was great but I was very offended to be asked to put on a mask while ordering!!! I am immunized & masks arent proven to prevent getting COVID. Whether Im ordering, or sitting & eating without a mask 6 away, isnt going to matter at all in keeping anyone from getting sick! Plus, the immunization is to protect others, so why should people be immunized if they still have to wear a mask. AND, its my right to NOT wear a mask!!! Sherri Neill

Cool place. Had the bacon egg and cheese biscuit. It was good but soooo filling. A lot of egg. Had trouble finishing it all. Mexico black coffee I had was good too. I was a little curious as to why they let the carafe of coffee completely run out before making new ones. I saw the line start backing up at least twice when people were just waiting around to fill coffee cups. My food was ready but I still had to wait another 5 minutes or so for coffee to be ready. Easily remedied with a little forethought from the coffee person. No biggie though. Great place for breakfast. I’ll go back if we’re ever in Asheville again.

This is my third time here. The pastries are tasty, they make great frozen drinks, the seating is spread evenly with small tables. The staff is friendly and helpful. Peaceful music in the background. Just walking distance from my work.

Absolutely delicious quiche, avocado toast (with lime!!), and coffee. Most appreciated that they were the only cafe open early in downtown Asheville. Weve got little kids who need to eat before 10am! Will definitely do breakfast here again!

Their turkey sandwich I tried was so fresh and tasty and their cinnamon rolls...wow. They somehow found a way to make the perfect combo of both crispy and goey bread, wrapped around with cinnamon and icing that blend together to make an amazing treat. It may not look like there is much icing on it but a lot of it is hiding inside the roll. Great food, amazing cinnamon rolls, pretty good location and modern coffee shop feel on the inside. Its worth a visit.

Husband and I ordered the Sausage Egg and Cheese Biscuit as well as the Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit, Avocado Toast w/ Lime Salt, and the cinnamon roll. We were blown away with how amazing everything tasted and couldn’t believe the great price we paid to receive such large portions! We were beyond happy with our breakfast here and will most definitely come back. We stopped in for a quick cup of coffee before our LaZoom tour last night. Organic coffee was excellent and my daughter loved her Chai latte tea which they were able to make with almond milk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We liked the hospitality and coffee so much we decided to go back the next morning. The menu and pastries looked absolutely delicious too! Highly recommend!!

Breakfast biscuit with egg and cheese is the best deal going in Asheville in my humble opinion. Call it in or order it online and you dont even have to go inside. Theyll bring it to your car. Great bread too.

Panera who? City Bakery is easily one of my top 3 in Asheville for soups, sandwiches and breakfast. The food is always fresh, the restaurant is always clean & COVID-safe for pickup and the portions are great for your moneys worth. Also, the staff is super friendly, and I can tell they all like working there!

Nice quiet breakfast (weekday at 8am). Americano was great and the Farmhouse sandwich was excellent. WiFi did not work but not a big deal.

This place is legit! All of the baked items are extremely fresh and having eggs cooked properly is rare these days lol. The cheddar biscuits are fantastic and at $5 its a great deal for a city that seems to be trending in the wrong direction for price/value.My advice, try one of everything ;)

Fantastic food and coffees. My one complaint would be that the lids dont stay on the coffee cups. Extremely frustrating.

My wordy and I picked up a TAB, BLT and sticky bun for lunch with cold coffee. Excellent BLT on French sourdough with crispy bacon and fresh tomato. Don’t know where they get their produce but the avocado on the TAB was also excellent. Highly recommend for lunch.

Wow, we started with Lunch at City Bakery, and it was so delish, we ended up back for breakfast the following day, and sandwiches for the trip home. They bake their own breads, and the sandwiches are creative and tasty. Great vibe too. Love this place!!

Pretty good! I came a little after opening on a Saturday and everyone was friendly. The gingerbread latte was decent and I also got some goodies to share with my mom. The pecan maple bunt cake was perfectly sweet but a little dry. The cupcake frosting was delicious and the cupcake was ok. I’m glad the open at 7am, perfect timing to get something for my mom staying at the Aloft Hotel across the street.

The quiche was amazing.. I really wish they served breakfast sandwiches after 11am.

Bagel and coffee were decent. However the guy asked for a tip and that completely turned me off to this place.

Cinnamon rolls are delicious. Ordered one of the two quiches and was brought out the wrong one. My husband was completely finished with his meal by the time I got the right one and it was lack luster. Stick to the baked goods.

Service was not fast, but they are busy getting things for people. The sandwiches are terrific. My wife says the coffee is stellar. ( I dont drink coffee) I eat chocolate croissant every place I go that has them. This place has the best I have ever had, & that is going up against at least 30 other bakeries throughout the US. A place to be enjoyed for sure, best for a lazy morning/afternoon. Dog friendly outside as well as you can see from Luna in my photo.

I really have nothing bad or great to say about this place. The food isnt terrible, the food wasnt upstanding. I grabbed a bite to eat on the way to sight see. It was food. I thought it was over priced, but its downtown Asheville and apparently popular. I really cannot see why its that popular, but I got a breakfast sandwich and it was just... a sandwich. Nothing more to say. Atmosphere wasnt overly friendly and inviting nor hostile. It was very lukewarm, the whole experience. I didnt mind it, but I would probably not go back.
