Definitely a 5 star business!Wide variety of Hats, Boots, Wallets and much more. Everything was very reasonably priced. No mask requirements because this is America and we do what we want so Id give a 5 star just for that. Staff was all professional and kind. Absolutely loved the store and will be back time and time again. And for those that complain about the no mask requirement and social distancing, stay ya snowflake self home. I went there to buy a Stetson hat. They were low in inventory. I 1aasked the office manager who was working the floor when they would have more come in. His reply was a year from now. No explination as to why. Great lack of customer service.

Im not a man of much means but I came into the store there was a gentleman who worked on saddles and made leather products! I promised myself I return when the time was right! He was kind to me and I learned through watching and talking to him! I was going through a hard time in life I worked day labor and saved enough to buy a good winter coat! I lost everything due to house fire. I lived in the woods near the Patton Ave bridge! Down by the river! They treated me with respect and kindness! I didnt freeze to death because of them! To the lady at the front I also thank you you are a kind person! Im now working hard and saving up! These folks are worth not only to shop but you get quality in every way with these folks!God bless these folks!

I just want to say that I had a wonderful experience in Jackson’s today. Unfortunately there are not a lot of stores left that will provide you with one on one customer care anymore, other than pointing at an isle for you.I was shopping for a pair of women’s boots that would be comfortable and stylish, I have problems with a bad knee. Their manager Rachel was beyond helpful! Not only did she take into consideration what my needs were in a boot but she had me sit while she ran back and forth with all kinds of ideas for me. She was patient, and knowledgeable. Rachel the boot department manager is full of helpful knowledge. She really takes passion in her job and is very easy to communicate with. We visited here to find our first pair of western boots. Rachel helped us through the selection. She was excellent and gave us the exact experience we were looking for! They have a decent variety of western wear at rather high prices. However, I was shocked to see the sales people not wearing masks and not maintaining an appropriate distance in the middle of a pandemic! I’m wondering: lf they have the right to open their business and make money, why don’t they follow the rules and protect their customers like any good American?!

Jacksons Western Store has a great selection of boots. The staff are always helpful and very knowledgeable. It is a great place to shop. A bonus is that they are locally owned.

This business has the worst customer service provided by the most unhelpful, unintelligent and condescending people that I have had the misfortune to deal with. Save your money and time and shop any where else! 18 year old kids in a fast food chain will give you better service and will not be half as rude or condescending. Poor John, the owner, is possibly the dumbest adult that I have ever met. To be honest the only thing that this store has going for it is the location.

My daughter and I were astounded that Jacksons Western Store doesnt have a mask policy. None of their salespeople were wearing masks and most of the customers in the store were not wearing them. There was no sign on the door or inside the store indicating that customers needed to wear a mask. In addition, there was absolutely no social distancing and several times I had to step away from the sales woman who insisted on hounding myself and my daughter at a closer than safe distance. What is wrong with you Jacksons? You obviously have no regard for public safety or consideration for the people in your community.

We went in ready to buy 3 pair of boots, needed a helmet and a new saddle. Asked the gal a few different questions and she was no help. Seemed more interested in her phone and guy she seemed to know. And the owners didn’t seemLike they wanted to leave the desk either.... we can go somewhere else.

Shops like this dont seem to exist anymore. Incredibly kind and knowledgeable staff, always willing to strike up a conversation. Full of stories. Phenomenal selection of high quality boots, denim and tack. This store prioritizes quality, craftmanship and tradition. You wont find any cheap import saddles here. Its truly a gold mine. I just moved to town, and Ill most certainly become a regular here.

I havent seen a Western store like this in a long time. They have boots, hats, tack, clothing and downstairs they restore saddles and even make saddles. These guys are gifted. Did I mention they make custom chaps? And the guys are funny and very kind. Let you know how my saddle turns out but from what Ive seen Im pretty sure its going to be an awesome job.I forgot to update this but Im happy to say the saddle was restored and it was done very well, so well Im bringing in my other one in the next week or so.

One thing people need to be made aware of is that the majority of your hats listed on your site are NOT actually in your store. You only order them from the factory AFTER someone places an order on your site and THAT is why it takes forever. Pretty shady that you dont disclose this on your website! Went in to buy a hat, my friend came with. While I was treated respectfully they treated my friend with an unwelcome vibe. Very very odd to witness.Hat selection was good and with varying prices.I would greatly hesitate going there unless you need something that day and/or cannot find it elsewhere.

Stores like this are few and far in between. If youre looking for a new or vintage saddle, they have it. If youre looking to have a custom leather item made, they can do it. This is an old school western store that employs craftsmen and craftsmanship. My experience was very personable. I saw a one-of-a-kind saddle that I wanted and they were graceful and patient with my purchase options. Hard to beat that kind of service.

I don’t understand the negative reviews?? I’ve been shopping there for over 40 years and have never had a bad experience! The staff is always helpful, available and friendly. The selection of products is outstanding and they are happy to order something if they don’t have it. No problems with special orders either!! Boot selection and staff has always met my needs (and I’ve bought a lot of boots there). Leather department is great and can fix just about anything and certainly everything I have taken in or requested. Largest selection of jeans in the area (men’s and women’s). With that said, I really don’t understand the negative reviews?!? I highly recommend this store and you should go see for yourself.

Wonderfully ran family store. There aren’t many stores around like this and that’s one of the reasons this store is unique. Staff is very knowledgeable about the products. Western, English, every day wear, they’ve got it. Look at the pictures on the wall and you will see the roots in the family store. Definitely recommend this business!

This store is amazing! The employees are amazing and extremely helpful and nice. I needed boots and I was planning on buying a ton on amazon and then sending a ton back, but I though I would try some on in real life instead and that was a really good idea! I learned that I had assumed my size wrong and none of the boots I would have bought would have worked. While none of the boots where below 100$ that is actually a good price for western riding boots. I found a boot I love with the help of an employee (who was really nice) It was also 120$ and that is about the same on amazon. She also gave me advise on cleaning and wearing it in as well as some extra products to help with the boots. I really love this store.

Western Wear, horse tack and custom leather work. Biggest selection of cowboy boots in the mountains. Leather shop downstairs can repair or rebuild almost any horse tack. Great place.

Love Jacksons! My family has always shopped with Jacksons for generations & now the youngest generation is shopping here. All the employees have always been so nice to us. Always making you feel welcomes as you walk through the door! Great costumer service! Always willing to help you find what ever you need! They also have a leather shop down stairs. Them boys can pretty much make you any thing you want. Great quality! Great costumer service down stair as well. Cant say enough good things about Jacksons!

I got a guitar strap at Jackson’s. I walked down to the basement, not knowing a thing about leather! And they where kind, patient, and explained the process to me! It was like Disney world!!! Hahaha! I have been 2 times and both times has been magical. They are kind, and if you want something you speak up. They are super friendly and kind... if you act the same! I LOVE going there!!! It’s so amazing! What they do is hard to come by! My generation doesn’t do anything like that and it is incredible to watch them work! So thank you Jackson’s, every time I go it really makes my day!!!

Came over from Tennessee, to buy mule shoes . Its about an hour drive, but enjoy looking around the store . The guys downstairs are awesome, and always cheerful and helpful . As always, ended up looking at boots . The two gals in the boots and saddles were very friendly and helpful . I like to cut up, and they went right with it . However, at checkout, the guy running the register, and another gentleman were so rude, I really almost decided not to buy anything . As I say, I cut up about a discount and they act as if Im stealing from them . If Im spending a couple hundred dollars in your store, I dont like to leave unhappy . As we were about to leave I strongly considered going back in for a refund . There was also a bumper pull trailer in the parking lot for sale, that is just what we are looking for . However, after our experience with the two gentleman, I told my wife I would not go back in to inquire about it . The guys at the register needs to shadow the rest of the team, and try to pick up a little personality ..

Wheelchair accessible. Workshop is downstairs, though. Theres a back door work a threshold but no step. I too a harness there to get Velcro replaced. I should get it back in 2 weeks or so.

Was driving through Asheville today and needed a cowboy hat. We called the store and asked what kind of inventory they had and what time they closed, we were told 6pm. We just pulled up at the store (drove 10 miles of out the way to make the stop) at 5:47pm and was told by the gentlemen we are closed.Totally disappointed...we would have not gone out of the way to make the stop if we had known you were going to close early. We will have to spend our money elsewhere. Thanks anyways.

Staff are so meh.Some cool boots & good inventory.My husband bought a $350 pair of boots & saleswoman acted put out that I had the nerve to ask for a box.I’d be more inclined to buy some for myself if they’d smile a little & act like they had any interest in basic customer service.

This place sells a variety of things that can meet the needs of all kinds of different people. I had never been inside this store until I couldnt find copper rivets with burr ANYWHERE around town and this place was recommended to me. Sure enough, they sell different sizes of the old-school copper rivets, not the more modern pop rivets. These are the ones you cut to size and flatten with an anvil and a ball peen hammer. On my way out I noticed the really nice quality rain jackets they sell. Leather wellington/marshall boots too!

The leather shop (in the basement) is amazing and there is a great selection of classic western wear at very reasonable prices! Very helpful staff down there too- One of the guys even fixed my hat band for free since I was buying a few things anyway.

Great selection and good quality products. I would rather spend my money at a store that is locally owned than a chain store that has cheap made products. I read other reviews about the staff being rude but they must not have went to the same store I did. Sometimes you have to use your words if you want help.

Staff was rude when I asked if they do military discount. Prices are high for the brands they sale.

When they say it could take 4 weeks, they mean 4 weeks. I wouldnt order anything you expect before then. I originally gave a one star but have edited it since. I did so because they check this which I appreciate. They might take a few days to get to your email, but they reply quickly on here. They said that they were responding to this post but never did. I sent them another email and they replied to that one. It has been over three weeks, but they are getting the product sent directly to me now. It has been a ride, but they are doing what they can to make up for it.

I was super excited to see if i could get some good boots for work, they say they close at 8. Right when i get there they had closed and they locked the door infront of my face. Any other great customer service would have loved to stay opened to customer.

Maybe this place is decent in person but ordering online is ridiculous. These people will have you waiting over a month with no updates whatsoever and when you contact them theyll completely ignore your email! Its clear to me that they have that 4+ weeks clause because they list items that they do not carry but the kicker is they dont really have any control over they will actually the items! 5 weeks plus for a single felt hat is crazy. Stetson himself could rise from the grave, catch the animals by hand and have this thing done in half the time.Absolutely worst customer service, insanely extended delivery times and overall a terrible business to work with online. AVOID!(Will update once situation is resolved)Update: after emailing several times the owner (I assume) assured me that the hats would be in the mail by this Thursday. This has indeed happened (upgrade to three stars). I will evaluate one more time when the products arrive. The fur felt hat I ordered has a wider brim than standard and this website features it at a price much lower than competitors which is why I chose this business.Update #2 April 23, 2018: I received the order today. Although it has been a journey the items address absolutely flawless. Exactly what I was expecting. Although I am thoroughly satisfied with the order I would urge the buyer to weigh the wait time vs. the item ordered and decide if it is worth the wait. For me it ultimately was.

This is by far my favorite store in Asheville. All of the employees here are nice and very helpful. I love this store! For all your leather needs. They also have a leather shop in the basement where they can make anything you want out of leather or buy the leather and make it yourself.

My husband and I are in the area for vacation and we stopped in to get a pair of cowboy boots. We walked in and I headed towards the end of the store where the boot isle was. Heard two women gossiping and having a conversation. Walked back and fourth about five times and never once had anyone ask if I needed help. Never owning a pair of boots before I wasn’t sure how to size them. I walked back to the front of the store and saw someone up on a ladder and assumed she had to work there. I began asking her how to size myself and she helped me but also made a remark that there are two women back there. I replied with, “I walked past them five times and was never once acknowledged, I wasn’t even sure they worked here” She walked with me back to the boots and told the two women I needed help. As soon as she returned to the front of the store they both walked away from me, never even saying a single word to me. Absolutely disgusted with how blindly ignorant they were. Would never recommend someone to shop here.

After reading some of these other reviews it’s obvious this place needs to address their customer service because your ‘long standing history’ will only take you so far. I too had a very similar experience to another customer, we were in-town from neighboring SC, drove out of our way (45 minutes) to find a western store for a friend’s daughter who was home on leave & wanted a pair of boots to take back to Okinawa. We walked in to find our friends (who were already shopping) @ 5:53 when a rude, old woman coming towards us (leaving with bags in her hands & large sunglasses on her face that look bigger than necessary?) abruptly told my young daughter & I that “they were closed!” Fortunately my Air Force friend heard me ask if it was ok to come in & find our friends who were already there (to which no one behind the counter replied), as she called out where they were so I just made a B-line for them.Too bad this was the only place around for decent boots & that we were limited on time because based on their customer service (not just the old woman) this business doesnt deserve our multi-generational military family’s hard-earned dollars! Step it up folks, we won’t be back though.

I went down there looking for a custom guitar strap, I asked Heather about having one custom made. The price was great, and the quality was even better. I will definitely go back there soon.

For years Ive bought high end tack. Until I got the fine gentleman to make me a back cinch and billet set. Way better than I ever expected and you couldnt get anything on line to compete with the fair price.
