Very disappointed in the lack of customer service from the girl at the checkout window. Office staff definitely needs an upgrade. When you hire ex Wendy’s drive through associates you should expect sub par customer service. At least Wendy’s will own up to and apologize for their mistakes.

I have found that this scheduled appointment was not.The first appointment was scheduled a couple of months before. I went to the appointment to learn they had postpone it. They left messages asking if I would be coming in if not let them know I even spoke to someone and no one told my appointment was canceled or postpone.Another appointment was made 3 months later. I received text messages from them up until an hour I was due to come in, asking if I would keep the appointment.I arrived on time and then Im told my insurance is no longer accepted. They were aware of this a month before but didnt notify me. Apparently, they left a voice message at the end of the day before my scheduled appointment... Which I did not get. If my appointment is scheduled the next day especially in the morning Im not likely to answer being I have received messages from you every week. My thought is yes Im coming.Problem is while texting me or anyone say your appointment has been canceled for more information contact our office#Whats the problem with that.

My mom went there and they were charging almost $700 hundred dollars for an eye exam with glasses, She was never told any prices for the glasses she was picking out, never told a price until she was checking out and they never gave to her the eye prescription that she paid. The day of her appointment she paid $385 dollars ..waited till they came in to pay the remaining balance. I contacted the office so they can explain to me why they were charging a lot for her glasses and why they never gave her the prescription that she paid .., when every eye doctor must give you a copy of your prescription whether you ask for it or not and without an extra fee .. they never couldn’t explain the highly priced for a glasses I told them to charged the 109 dollars for the eye exam, give her the prescription and the rest of the money that she paid..they told us that they couldn’t do that that they can only refund the half of what she paid.We asked to speak with the manager (April ) I talked with her and she refused to pay the money back, we asked to speak with the doctor (Leslie Mazzarella) but she never came to the phone.The manager (April) was very rude and disrespectful with us,she told us why we don’t go to a place where they speak Spanish,,that is a DISCRIMINATION comment and hung up on me..The next day we contacted again the office and the front staff was very rude and very disrespectful and she said that now the manager will not refund the money anymore either the prescription and hung up on me. At the end we could just get the prescription.I wish the doctor can see and read this to improve her staff and her teamwork so they can provide a better service.

I was very impressed with the whole experience from making the first phone call. Thank you Kris for getting me in so quickly you are fabulous. Then I went in and told them everything I wanted and ask them how my insurance worked and to break it all down for me bc I had been somewhere else and they claimed things on my insurance that wasn’t actually done so I had to wait a year to actually get my eyes checked. Anyway they explained everything down to the penny. Then the doctor came in and examined me and explained things to me about my eyes that no doctor has ever explained. Then told me how to protect my vulnerable eyes. NO optometrist has done that before. I was not treated like a number they were thorough and patient with me. The experience was excellent. Thank you to all the staff you all are great.

Not a very pleasant experience. After suffering from some medical issues(stroke) I started receiving Medicaid. I scheduled an appointment with high expectations of seeing good again. I understand being a Medicaid recipient Im probably not a priority but I feel that I was not given the same treatment. Very rushed and only saw the actual eye doctor for a few minutes. I had some pairs of glasses to pick from and they were fine. The only thing is they did not work at all. I went back and was basically ignored. They did not resolve the issue at all. Come to find out the glasses were made by prisoners witch is fine but Im sure the price was in the favor of Nova Eye Care. I will stick with my cheap readers until my next appointment. It wont be with Nova Eye Care.

Bought a pair of Juicy Couture glasses which were almost $500 then decided to order sunglasses through them all on the same day was told by the girls in the office they fit good and looked great. The sunglasses were $452 I paid $260 that day waited till they came in to pay the remaining balance which was $192 . When I go to get them was told the sunglasses were too big on my face they kept adjusting them, which did not help they kept falling off my face. So since they didnt work of course I wanted the $260 I had already paid on them but was told I could not get my money back only half of what I paid. Because they were prescription for my eyes. Thinking I could trust the associates and their opinions when really they just wanted a sale. I didnt get my full refund which is 100% ridiculous!! Spent a lot of money almost $800!!!! Highly disappointed with this place. Do not recommend getting glasses from them!

I was an advocate for a cataract patient He did great he went from not making out my face to seeing again.The surgery center cleaned everything that was touched and all the front desk.helped to wipe down everything else another time.The patient is now getting his other eye done.I will recommend this office for eye surgery.

So I took a day to think about it before I posted a review. I wanted to wait until I had fully calmed down and was able to discuss the situation with my daughter. So here goes...……….. I took my daughter to her appointment yesterday. I let her go in first since she is older and I stayed to park the car. I went in a few minutes after and she was very upset. She wanted to know if we could leave. I was surprised because she normally isnt anxious when it comes to the eye doctor. We have been going to Nova for years so I didnt think much of it and thought maybe she was just a little nervous because they planned to dilate her eyes.I went to sign the paperwork and the lady KAYE was talking to me asking me questions about her insurance. I didnt have the answers she wanted and it was obvious she was irritated with me. I explained to her that her father had just had an insurance change and I wasnt sure if I had the new card but I gave her all the information I had and told her I would look in my purse and ask my daughter for the card. She huffed at me but I just blew it off and went over to my daughter.I found the card and returned to the counter. This is where it goes terribly wrong because I heard something that should never have been said in front of patients, especially not the one youre complaining about.Kaye was standing there her back to the window, going off about some patient. She was telling a lady that worked there, younger girl with dark hair. I thought God this woman just doesnt like anyone then I realized as she was ranting that she was ranting about ME!I was in shock and I just stood there in awe! Finally the lady sitting down looked up and saw me standing there in shock and she dropped her jaw. That was the moment I saw Kaye stop herself and drop her head not even looking in my direction. She KNEW she had been busted. I threw my cards down and said loudly. FOUND THE CARD!I walked back to my daughter and sat down STEAMING!Kaye never even returned my cards she had another lady do it.The rest of the visit went fine, Kaye never even looked at me the whole time. I let the whole situation go and focused on my daughter. I figured I could deal with it later.When we got to the car I told my daughter. See that wasnt so bad, I dont know why you were freaking out. She looked at me and said Mom I wasnt freaking out I wanted to leave because of the way that blonde lady was treating me! I looked at her knowing she didnt hear what had gone down. I asked her Did you hear all that between me and her? She shook her head and said No mom, it was before you got in there. I told her my name and she looked at the computer and starting ranting about cancelled appointments and how no one took them out of the system and started snapping at the other girls saying that no one knows what they are doing and she was so hateful. I dont ever want to come back her again!After thinking about it and letting myself calm down, I still decided to write the review not so much for the way she treated me but for the fact that she made my daughter so upset. She loves the doctor here but its not worth putting her through that mess. We will NOT be back and we will NOT refer this practice to ANYONE. I hate it too. Been a long time patient.

I bought glasses in October 2018. They got pitting in them so I couldnt see. Plus the thicker of the two lenses popped out over and over which eventually broke them. They were still under warranty so they replaced them. Well they lasted about three months.I would advise going somewhere else.

I had an issue with my eye, it hurt. They got me in same day, diagnosed an infection in my right eye. I picked up the medicine. I appreciated them seeing me the same day.

After 25yrs with the same eye Dr. in my home city, I had high expectations, and also was a bit nervous about making a change to a local Dr.Dr. Kernodle is very friendly, and very knowledgeable! He came up with a solution to my contact prescription, and glasses, that Ive struggled with the last 2 yrs. He is very good at explaining what he is doing and why, and what options you have.The entire staff is also friendly and knowledgeable.Im so happy I made the needed transition to a local Dr. in what seems to be a state of the art practice. Thank you all, and keep up the excellent work!

Refused to file my claim under my VISION insurance that I pay monthly for, and filed under my medical because im a type one diabetic. Blue cross Blue shield was also very confused on why they filed the claim under medical being that it was a routine eye doctor visit. Never had this issue at any other eye doctor. I am now left owing Nova $203 after paying almost $400 for a pair of glasses. Do not recommend

Not an easy experience with ordering glasses or getting fitted with the correct lens for what you might want to try. Doctor is very knowledgeable and friendly. Trying to get set up on the portal they use is a nightmare. Overall I would give them another try.

Dr. Mazarella and Kristy went that extra mile to check my scared boys eyes. Not once I saw them rolling their eyes (Ive seen that in other places).Lots of patience and dedication! And that really makes the difference.Thank you! :)

They did not check my peripheral vision at all and did not check my eye pressure first thing. They did not allow me to finish filling out my paper work before taking me back. I was about to be Charged over $60.00 for a contact lens fitting when i dont even wear contacts. The optical assistants and receptionist did not seem to know what they were doing and they wrote my pupillary distance down wrong on my paper. I went last year and didnt have this problem, but this year was not good. I wont be going back. I even discussed the problem with them and they refused to let me have a re-examination or allow me a second opinion. Thought about reporting them to BBB. Steer clear of this place.

Horrible service and experience-both my sons were seen at the same time and I watched the one “nurse “ and she asked me questions And tested him well,my other son,,that nurse was on her phone texting and then when picked up the glasses,they didn’t even see if they fit like a normal office would basically it was me asking if they were ok and she said to my sons”I can’t tell if they fit for you!” Rudely and have me paperwork to sign and walked away not even telling me where to sign!!!Do not recommend this place especially for kids!! Horrible

Dr Kernodle is awesome but there was new staff this time that were not very friendly. The receptionist, as well as the young lady that performed my eye tests need a lesson in customer service. They have no people skills. I was very relieved when Christy came in to assist Dr Kernodle with my eye exam. She has excellent rapport with patients and is very welcoming. I was seriously considering changing doctors, but I will just request Christy assist me next time.

They have a real bad customer service, I called today to get an appointment for my mom and they gave me one for today 02/09/16 @ 3:20pm but least than one minute I received a text message with a remind notice for 4:30pm so I called my mom back and told her sorry they changed the schedule so my mom went there and they just said well your appointment was for 03:20 no sorry word at all, so I called back they just said we cant see her at this time... (I have the text message in my phone) hello what kind of customer service they have or they are racist ??????
