Traveling medical professionals STAY AWAY!! I thought I was going to stay in one of the cabins for 13 weeks while I was here working, but I could barely stay two weeks. There is mold all over the ceiling from moisture coming from the shower, and it started making me feel sick. I got a gym membership just so I wouldn’t have to shower there. The blinds are broken on the front door, so I didn’t feel safe or like I had any privacy. One night around 8:30 I heard somebody knocking on my door. I was terrified and hid in the bathroom until I thought they’d be gone. I emailed the manager Wendy to ask if she had knocked since she was the only person I talked to at the campground. She was really hostile and completely rude to me. That was when I decided to find somewhere else to stay for the duration of my contract. I’m paying more than double what I was paying at that trailer park, and it’s worth EVERY cent! I’m more comfortable and I feel safe. I didn’t even mention all of the bugs and lizards that were a constant in the cabin. Spend your money elsewhere. This place is a complete dump!

This campground is right outside the city of Asheboro NC. It is situated beside a portion of Deep River and is very quiet. There are two pools (one open and very clean), a pond for fishing and some short trails to explore. There are a lot of ducks on the grounds. They did not bother you but there was a bit of excrement around so watch your step. I needed a space to get away for a few days and this was the perfect space. Campsites vary in size. Ours was a bit on the narrow side, but there was no one on the site to our passenger side, so we were okay. There is no real access to the River and you aren’t able to get in. Campsite size and no River access was my reason for the loss of a star. If you go to campgrounds for planned activities and to be busy, this one is not yours. If you camp to get away and find peace, this is perfect.

Deep River Campground was an amazing place to stay. We needed a place for a few nights and called the day we were stopping. They were extremely accommodating in assisting us not only book one site but two. From the minute we called until we left, they made us feel like they wanted us there, not that we were just another camper.Their grounds are amazing and well taken care of. They have a lake and a river on site. They also have ducks and the owners even left us food so we could feed them. :) We would definitely come back and would recommend anyone to stay here.

I went to the campground by myself and I felt safe. It was peaceful and relaxing. No golf carts full of teenagers or dogs barking. Everyone seemed to be relaxing and not partying either. Met a few friendly people in passing. Went fishing-caught one! There are plenty of fish in the pond. Friendly ducks. I went after Labor Day so the pools were closed. The bathroom was clean with a good hot shower. I will be going back next year!

In the middle of a pandemic my family needed a getaway for relaxation and this place was exactly what we needed. We visited several days ago, so this is a COVID-time review. We knew the pool and facilities would be closed. First, the good: The people were very nice, friendly, helpful. The not-so-good: The campground is very tired. The road leading in is a series of bumps and holes, not the best for driving a rig. Walking around the lake was basically impossible without boots. Extremely overgrown. We were told by another guest to avoid the overgrown areas around the road because of a proliferation of poison ivy and poison oak. There are no pads so leveling is an issue as well as a lot of mud around the hookups. We were within feet of the rig next to us; it was a nice spot to see the little lake but we completely obliterated the view of our neighbor. I will attribute some of these issues to situations beyond their control and hope that in time, they spruce the place up a bit. The reviews wed read before going indicated a spot much better attended.

Just returned from a tent camping visit with our Cub Scout Pack at Deep River Campground after a day trip to the zoo. We have camped in many campgrounds and our parents called this the resort campground! It is under new ownership and the owners absolutely rolled out the red carpet for us and our boys. The actual campground is located immediately at a lake with great fishing (our boys happily caught some big ones!) and kayaking/canoeing. The scouts loved the boating and even hiking the very picturesque trails surrounding the lake. The bathrooms with three showers for each gender were spotless and well stocked. There was a small playground the boys enjoyed and even a game room to play pool and arcade games. The owners went above and beyond after I inquired about area dining when they offered to provide dinner for our group for a small charge. What a relief to return after a long day at the zoo to a beautiful spread laid out for us! The owners even decorated for the boys and made a special Welcome sign for them specifically! We camp monthly and this is by far the best experience weve ever had and it is by far the most affordable of any campground in the zoo area!! Our Pack has asked to return every year!

They clearly know tourism and hospitality, they go above and beyond and are most helpful. They are courteous, friendly and made us and our 8 children feel at home. We are planning our next trip really soon, this one just was not long enough. Prices are still reasonable, bathrooms were newly painted, clean and fresh. Laundry facilities allowed us to pack less and wash and dry while we were there. Owners re-stocked the lake and invited the children to see the fish and experience the release. The kids got to play some arcade games while hubby and I enjoyed a nice game of pool. We are still unpacking from our return home last night and the kids are wondering when we will return.

Spent 3 months here (Jan - April 2019) while on a contract. Very pleasant and helpful management, very quiet and restful campground. Since the new owners everything has changed and my last two experiences have been horrible! I understand but they don’t want you getting inside the pond and then the pool but he really does that when they’re fission and then I asked could I pay to swim and then come back to fish the afternoon when we were done swimming she told me no you could not do everything in the same day which makes no sense considering they’re losing money! The lady in the office was very rude as well as the man that works there you can only swim till five now which makes no sense if you pay more to go to the pool then they should stay open like everything else till at least 8 o’clock people that have kids sometimes get a later start than others! Also the lady in the office is very cocky and not very helpful and does not like to be questioned as of why you can’t fish and swim in the same day and makes no sense? I will take my business to a public pool before I go back there! I understand about the algae but why is it not OK for people to swim until they get done and then go fission and then leave the park if that’s what they’re going to do I mean it’s a win win situation as long as they don’t go back to the pool?

I just camped here with my daughter (as part of a larger tent camping group) Labor Day weekend. It was a nice venue, though we were basically camping on a large grassy field in the middle of two roads. We were right under a massive street light with no tree cover, so it didnt get super dark at night when it was time to sleep. Many of the people in our group also had an issue with fire ants getting into their tents. It would be nice for future visits if they could spray the tent sites to help prevent this. No one wants to set up their tents on a site infested with fire ants. Overall, the experience was really good, though. The pavilion we rented for the group site was really nice and protected from the elements. The bathhouse was relatively clean and well maintained. There were two pools and a small playground, which were really nice for the kids in our group. We had easy access to the lake for canoeing and fishing. The best part about this site was the staff. They were friendly and very accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed and felt welcome. The owners even did face painting for the young kids and set up a small fireworks display. We had a good time, but I like a little less open space when Im tent camping. I also hope that they try to address the fire ant issue.

The facilities are immaculate and up to date. When their playground was getting fixed it took them only a matter of Id say a couple of weeks. They tend to their pool and do a lot of upkeep of the property to keep things beautiful. Everyone is very nice ans accomodating. I will be staying again in the future. Their pricing is very very fair especially with 2 pools, both of which are different in depth. They also maintain their grass which may not seem like a big deal, but it is if you dont want ticks and you have a dog. Their bathhouses are extremely clean and never have any odor or mess. They have a very tight knit community which is really nice and helped me feel welcomed. Another thing thats really nice is when I ran out of propane they actually delivered it to my rig. After deciding to go camping for the first time as a family we called every campground around and this was one of the only places with a spot on Memorial Day weekend. The campground has 2 pools, a pond, a playground, small game room and is close to the river. We enjoyed the pools but they are opened to the public. So before 5pm or so they were slightly crowded. We also rented a kayak for $5 an hour to use on their pond. They provided life jackets. This was fun. We also bought our own kayak and used it. They were some loud drunk people one night and you could definitely smell marijuana in the air on several occasions. We had small children so we didnt care for the party scene. Bring cash dont use debit or credit cards. We had an issue with paying for our site. My card was charged for some of the total charge but was declined for the whole amount even though there was more than enough money on it. So to be safe they canceled the transaction and we used another card. They offered us a site near the pool but we felt it was just a make shift spot in a field/yard area with no privacy or shade so they offered us another site #25 I believe and it seemed small but it was shaded and we made do. It was however extremely rocky. We brought mats to place under our tent thank goodness or we would have slept right on rocks and gravel and it could have possibly damaged our tent. Our kids had a ball. They were alot of unsupervised children walking by themselves on the trails near our site and on the playground putting toys on the merry go round. They bath houses were clean and close. There was one man on staff who came off very rude. We also seen 2 snakes near our site but it is near the river but you should be careful. I would probably go again but definitely want to check out other campgrounds

Extremely friendly staff, but its an older place so the sites are close together and the playground equipment is worn. Be careful booking sites - a lot of the sites on the outer edge are pull-in sites, meant for class A coaches so they are not really suitable for travel trailers or fifth wheels.

New owners dont know how to maintain the campground, and prices are higher than the other campgrounds in the area with less amenities

This is a very nice Campground and RV Park. The new owners are totally awesome. Ms. Laura, in the office is very sweet and nice. They make you fill like family. They have very clean restrooms and showers, and the laundry room is very clean as well. We stayed here 10 days in a 5th wheel and will stay here again, if we are this way again. We were in site 10, and the wifi was excellent. Debbie and Otis Modgling

We stayed here for just over a week. We paid for the first week and when we checked in we told them we maybe staying for a few days after that week. We enjoyed most of our stay. There were a few things we didnt like. First was that if your rv is older than like 10 years old they make you stay in the back part of the campground (I thought segregation ended years ago? Lmao). Our rv is older bit in good shape. I would be really mad if I had a classic airstream or something similar. Second, the campground has had tight and narrow roads. Very had to get through with just a truck. Almost impossible with an rv attached. My husband (who drives semis for a living) ended up hitting useless pole that was sticking out of the ground and scratched our brand new truck. Third, they put us right on a hill. There was no flat space on our site at all.Once our week was up, my husband went to the office to pay for the day. They told him to just come back tomorrow. The next day he went back and told him he needed to pay and they blew him off. They acted like they didnt want it. The next day we had to leave early. They ended up charging our credit card (I would have rather pay cash) but they charged us more than we had originally told us.We will never return which is unfortunate. The owner Nikki was extremely nice.

Place is very exspensive. Others in area are alot cheaper. For say monthy they are $700+ all the way to $1000 other rv park as nice in area 275 a month and far better management of park. Was not impressed with this rv park at all and I have stayed at alot. Wont make another trip here and dont recommend you either. Safe travels and happy camping

We have been camping for 15 years. This is the worst campground we have ever been to. Its beyond me how they got a 4 star rating.

WARNING WARNING Dont stay here. The new owner have screwed this campground up. Start with they have raised the price to 450 plus electric if you are staying monthly. Almost 200 if you stay a weeks. When I got there they told me I could pay 100 dollars for a couple of weeks until I get settle in at my new job the they told me I could pay 400. well When I got there they said they did not say that. Which they did thats why I went there. The other problem is they say they have WIFI well guess what thats a lie. But now they have removed it from there home page. The cable is a joke so you get 60 channels but guess what half of them will not come in to much static and the channels repeat there selfs. So you only get about 20 to 30 channels. The two pools One word NASTY. They dont know how to clean the pool bugs all on the top of the pool.Dont think the PH is right either. The bath house MOLD AND MILDEW showers are not hot warm but not hot. The have not cut the grass around my camper in about 3 weeks. The Washing machine smelled like soured clothes have been left in the washer and the dryers after you use them your clothes smell worse. Oh one more thing about the bathhouse the toilets half way flushes. So most of the time you will find floaters if you get my driff. They is a health risk in my book. But camp are your own risk.......

We went to the campground for a weekend and were very unhappy. The owner is a very angry person. He yelled at me and my kids several times. He also watches you with binoculers at night. I have never paid to be treated with such disrespect.
