Amazing! Fresh! I found this gem through Google maps and typed in donuts. Took us a while to order because the number of potential choices, daily selections, and combinations can be overwhelming; however, at the end of the day, just know that its made to order! They were patient, friendly, and very helpful with the final order and willing to answer any and all questions we had! Will absolutely be back.

My favorite donut place. One of my favorite places to go. It’s always worth the travel down to Asbury for these donuts. Incredibly amazing customer service with very efficient workers. What I like about the donuts is that it’s made to order, it’s fresh. It is small inside but you are not in there for long but unless you can’t decide what you want that is. They are cake donuts. I like how they don’t put frosting on both sides, been to places that have and it makes it so hard to eat. These are just right! Not only that they are so awesome with unique names and so delicious! Apple cider donuts are a hit there! They also sell Holly Jolly Jams, AP Roastry coffee, merchandise, cold drinks in fridge, and dog treats. They have vegan + regular donuts to chose from and they even just started doing gluten free. One of my favorite things is how I can create my own donut, I like to mix it up and they are very nice about that. They always have specials going on! Instagram is the place to follow to be kept in the know! Purple Glaze is a wonderful place to have in Asbury Park aka music town, the donuts are named after music! So cool! They even have table outside to sit on, and they do custom donuts for birthdays, weddings, and so on! Chocolate donuts on Sundays! They even have blueberry donuts sometimes. My favorite donuts were always the espresso donuts, but I love seeing what they come up with! The holiday donuts they did with the mix of chex is incredible!

In my humble opinion, the best donuts in New Jersey or New York. The key is that they glaze each one to order seconds before you eat it to maximize freshness. Also, because of this technique, nothing ever sells out, giving them massive variety. My favorite dessert spot in the world. My only complaint is I wish they were open later.

I was craving some donuts on the way back to Maryland from a business trip. Purple Glaze donuts came up when I searched donuts near me. Once I ordered the donuts and brought them back to my car I was surprised. They were not what I expected. The donuts are very plump and look cake. Once I tasted the first one...Wow! They are a little crunchy on the outside, great texture, and very light and moist in the middle. I havent tried donuts like them before. What a great find. Too bad they arent closer to MD... or maybe thats a good thing.

Absolutely delicious! I bought some for my family this morning and we all loved them. The doughnuts have a lightly crispy exterior with a nice fluffy interior. Theres a big menu with a wide variety of choices, complete with vegan options. Not to mention, some of their doughnuts have punny names that make me chuckle. The staff is also very nice and friendly!

We ordered two dozen “plain & simple” doughnuts for our baby shower last month & they were the perfect sweet treat for our guests. The doughnuts were soft and delicious & not hard and cakey like some other locally owned doughnut shops I’ve been to. Also, reasonably priced for bulk orders! Haven’t been here in three years as we don’t live in the area—glad to see that it’s as good as we remembered and that the business is doing well in the pandemic. The doughnut itself is so good even without the toppings and fillings. It’s priced well and the owner is really sweet (no pun intended). Really wish we lived closer, I’d rate it my favorite doughnut shop in NJ (and I reallllly like doughnuts) in terms of quality, service and value.

Everyone who works at Purple Glaze is super friendly. My dog LOVES Wes, but mainly cause he always has fresh made treats for her.

Every time I fantasize about getting donuts, Purple Glaze is the place on my mind. The donuts are fresh, fluffy on the inside, and light crispy crust on the outside. Toppings are perfect. Icing is thick enough that it stays on the top of the donut and supports extra toppings. Flavors for all are perfect. My only complaint is that theyre 30 minutes from my house (probably better for my health and finances this way). If Im going to be in the area, Im making sure to stop in for a fix.

Outstanding donuts!! Try the blueberry, or the “magic bar” (my favorite). There are a variety of donuts to satisfy your taste buds. The service is exceptional and prices are reasonable.

A very yummy place, the donuts are very good and fast service. I love the names they come up with are awesome. My only gripe is it seems like the base donut they use for all their donuts is the same, the difference is how they dress them. I enjoy them my favorite was the pb&j. Purple Glaze is one of the best things to happen to Asbury Park in the last decade. There donuts are the best I have ever eaten. The kids all love the shark attack. I love everything about this place from the people to the food to the decorations to the overall vibe. They close at two but Ive gotten used to that. Where ever I take these donuts its a big hit. Parties, meetings, etc.

Perfectly cooked donuts🍩🍩. Banana pudding was one of the best donuts Ive had. There donuts are masterpieces, and the employees were so nice. I will be back for sure.

Recently went here with my bf and I got the banana creme donut and he got a classic jelly donut. Both were fresh, authentic and delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try more flavors! Highly recommend.

I would highly recommend stopping in and trying out their donuts and I highly recommend using them for any special events or functions. Some have complained the base donut is the same for all flavors which is mostly true but they also occasionally have chocolate or apple cider donuts available. Wow!!!! Thats generally all I can say when I take my first bite of all there donuts. The staff is always so inviting and make you feel right at home. The selection of specialty donuts or custom options you can make are great and the execution of making the product is always spot on. I have yet to try a donut from here that did now impress me. The pricing is on point with most other donut shops or specialty bakeries like this and there is usually a little bit of a line but always well worth the wait. Many times my wife and I have been given extra donuts just for having to wait a few extra moments, things like that are never expected but always appreciated when it comes to customer service. This is always one of my must go destinations when in the Asbury area

Despite stopping in last minute, ten minutes before closing, the staff at Purple Glaze were incredibly friendly, helpful and patient. I was provided a menu with their every day offerings as well as the opportunity to look at their daily specials. I went with one vanilla sprinkle, one chocolate sprinkle, and one Thai Coconut special donut, donuts are dipped to order. The co-owner was kind enough to toss in a free donut after learning it was my first visit! These donuts are well priced, nicely portioned and really hit the spot. Definitely worth stopping in if youre in the area whether you want a sweet snack (one donut) or a hearty dessert (two.... maybe three donuts).

Today I made that time and must say that after having had tried many of the other similar donut establishments on the NJ Donut Trail I find the Purple Glaze to be fresh, delicious and tasty. To me they may be number 1 in the state?

I was there for the first time several months ago when there was 6-inches of snow on the ground. They had just opened up and the place wasnt yet warm from the heater but the warmth and inviting attitude of the staff made it feel like I was in the tropics. Ive rarely come across someone who truly enjoyed their job but the tall gentleman making the donuts that day certainly impressed me with his pride in his work. Not only was he proud but generous too as I got offered a free donut and I dont even think they knew it was my first time there. The donuts of course were outstanding. If they werent I wouldnt bother writing a review, but dont take my word for it, go and try them yourself and see.

Attentive staff, I assumed the guy helping us was the owner bossman was on point running in-between breaks to clean up and sort out any mess from people at the coffee station, had a menu to give in each persons hand so they could choose what they wanted as they waited. Besides the staff, the donuts themselves were great and fluffier than previous shops Ive been, selection was vast its hard enough trying to pick six out so I can only imagine how a person can only walk out with one.

Whenever Im at the Jersey shore I always stop at Purple Glaze. They have some tables outside just in case you cant wait to eat your donuts, which is often the case. There is a list of regular donuts and also specials so theres always something new to try. Really friendly staff, good coffee and excellent donuts. I recommend ordering a plain donut (in addition to the other specialty donuts), you can really taste and see the quality and theyre so tasty plain!

We are so very happy that we served donuts instead of a cake at our wedding, and Purple Glaze was the best choice! Their donuts are delicious and we were able to pick our own flavors. We had lemon poppy, pumpkin, glazed, and their Holey Cannoli flavors. They also gave us our own bride- and groom-decorated donuts, which was so cute! We and our guests loved the donuts and I plan on ordering their donuts for other events in the future!!

Expected hot, fresh, inventive donuts from a place weve loved for years...got pre-made, cold and lifeless donuts for $16....moved from NJ to SC last year and made a point to come here during our visit - well be back for sure but please take your time executing for your customers, it makes a difference every time. Rating would have been 1 star if this wasnt a favorite stop as consistency has never been a problem in the past.

These donuts are to die for! Next time you are in Asbury, make sure you get there. We went on Mothers Day and everyone was really nice (Im sure they are really nice even when its not Mothers Day 🤣). They were even giving out tulips! Onto the donuts. Maple glaze with bacon....uhmm YES PLEASE! Also, the Holy Cannoli and the La Dona. In fact, just get one of everything, you really cant go wrong!
