I do not recommend this place. The vada pav was bland and came with burger buns. The Dani chat had an imli chutney which was red colored. The poori Bhaji was bland and oily. There was no substance to the dish. . Super disappointed with the food here. The kachori chat was like chole ki sabji. Won’t recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get Indian food.
Nice people. It is a small place but has most of the groceries you need. Sweets and lunch deals are great.
Absolutely delicious food and incredibly kind employees. We travelled from Westwood to eat here and will definitely come back again!
UNHYGIENIC!!!Saw a dead mosquito on one of the snacks on display. The food we ordered was probably cooked days ago as it had a foul smell and a bitter taste. I never write bad reviews for small businesses but this place is a breeding ground for diseases/ illnesses. I had a bad stomach the next day. Never ever am I going back.
We had snacks, Best place. Staff was generous and kind. Food was tasty. I went back to Punjab while eating Chat. ❤️. Noodle was served like in hassle so average.
Quality food at resonable prise. Best place for Indian Sweets and snacks
Went to bottomless brunch here with a group of friends to celebrate birthdays!! Overall, service was good and the experience was good, but the hot honey chicken sandwich was not good..just had a weird texture to it. everything else was great!
Love their sweet pan! Its a typical desi grocery store, but we enjoy their fresh pan. This area of Artesia is like Chicagos Devon Street, full of Indian stores & restaurants
The staff is too slow in taking orders and no system to serve customers fairly.THe food quality was not good. The Sambar taste was worst.KAchori in kachori chat seemed stale.Only jalebi was good.
The customer service is good but I wouldnt recommend eating the Channa bhatura because the Channa tasted like it was old and was on its way out. The bhaturas were very oily and after a few bites it was unbareable to eat and we had to throw everything away in the trash
Three staff is very nice. We ordered papidi Chaat and chole batura. The Chaat was very good. The batura was good too but the chole were so so.
I ordered some sweets and snacks. It was stale and spoiled. I had to throw away the entire food. I really wonder how they are still in business.
Waited in a long line here for Diwali. One of the guys behind the counter was pretty grumpy the other was nice. Can’t blame them it was a long wait on a super busy holiday. The sweets were pretty good. Yellow ladoo and gulab jamun not that great. The kaju katli, ras gulla and orange ladoo was very good! Decently priced I guess.
I will recommend staying hungry rather than picking to eat here
Dont try their food, its nothing like indian food. The service is terrible. I ordered for a rasmalai.. but it was rasgulla dipped in milk.
The owner of this store is great man the food the sweet everything is awesome everyone should come and try the food👍
Sweets were really good..authentic Indian..Chef really knows what is he making🙂
Punjabi food was good but south Indian dishes n chat papdi pathetic
Absolutely great 👍We have been coming here for years! Best spot on the strip for fast Indian food
Annoyingly high wait times. It’s Sunday evening and there’s a long line outside. Taking about 15 min per customer in the line. V good food though.
Good place. Dosa is best. Rate wise better than others. You can enjoy free tea.
Good food but need some crowd management
Ambala Sweets and Snacks is a gourmet Indian treat shop in Artesia, CA that is offering traditional, all-vegetarian pastries and treats since 1990. It’s a small shop with a limited seating arrangement. We went there more than a year ago. We ordered Samosa, Miv Veg Pakoras, Bhel Poori, and Pani Poori. The food was average. The overall service was okay but the price was high considering the portion of the food.
Worst Indian food I’ve ever had. None of the food items I ordered were fresh. Service was pretty bad too.
Very very good food at ambala sweets & snacks 🙏
Its the worst food we tried! Their chowmein was pathetic, papdi chaat and dahi chaat seemed to be stale. Chai was plain water and milk. It looked unhygienic
My favorite place for breakfast whenever we are in Ca. Cholae bhatoore. Is their especially saag makae ki roti. Sweets best place to eat friendly staff especially old owner
Recently visited while on a trip to California, Sardar Gi at register was very helpful and understanding, someone in our group changed order couple of time he did it with a nice smile. Food quality was good. Although the place is small but have good salesmanship,
Great foodGreat serviceHighly recommended
Ordered chana bhatura and one bhatura was having too much oil on top of it. Got it exchanged but then the other one cane with a hair in it. Ruined all my mood.Very average. Not hygienic.
In my review I inadvertently wrote a review on the grocery store, which has the same name. Ambal cafe, located in Cerritos serve south and north Indian food. For breakfast this place was packed and attracts a trendy crowd and tourists. The Sambhar, known as lentil curry coupled with carrots, drumsticks, didnt taste like authentic, it was watery. The rice cakes were not fresh and chutney was too pungent and sourish.
The food is authentic, and enjoyable, and the service is above and beyond...Paramjit was so kind, and hospitable to my daughter, wife, & I...Thank you for the great experience
They are selling best Indian snacks in Artesia
Good food, great prices, a tad slow.
Best sweets ever!!! Fresh and delicious 😋
Bought some assorted sweets last night and all of them tasted so bad!
The food was great and the hospitality was even better. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.
Always welcome and good customer service
This place is very nostalgic for me so I am very happy they are doing well and staying open with COVID precautions. But they need to stop using styrofoam. Their chutney and the saambar they serve with the dosas are delicious but you just know the hot hot liquid Is helping to dissolve all that styrofoam into your body. Also they should not call their Paneer dosa a Cheese dosa. The shredded Paneer does not melt at all like cheese would and you end up getting a plate of paneer shreds covered by a small Dosa sheet. Other than that the service is excellent. I would still get mithai and samosas from here, and maybe some snacks like bhel puri etc but I will be avoiding their dosa plates from now on. Again, good service and they do many items very well but beware the cheese dosa. I will never order that one again.
Tea is not that good but Very tasty food.
I know this place for almost 15 years, its downhill place for food...very bad 👎
Great Indian vegetarian food.
Love going to Ambala they serve fresh sweets and snacks. Staff is friendly and cooperative .highly recommend this place
First time here. Theyre a bit unorganized. Had their #3 special. It was fine. Will probably try other places since there are so many other Indian eateries in Artesia.
Great customer service. Fresh delicious food. Highly recommend. They gave us complimentary tea and tea was super delicious. We come all the way from Vegas. Only for sweet
They will take ur order at 9:45pm not like other place that claim to be open untill 10pm and stop taking order at 9:30pm
Great place for weekend breakfast.
I have been coming this Ambala sweet last 25 yearsTasty food and excellent service. The staff speaks Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati and course English,I saw all kind of South Asian community coming to eat their food because food is excellent, Specially they are very friendly. I recommend everyone at least go there and try once, their food, it is real Vegetarian restaurant.
Good Food
Best food, hospitable employees!
Minimal to no hygiene - guess they do not care about customers at all. Spoons, straw and even a Kulfi - all directly touched by them were given to me. I asked them to eat their kulfi. It was a horrble experience. I would never come here again, or even remotely suggest this place to anyone. Owned and run by irresponsible folks.
Very good sweets.
I got their Masala Dosa and Chole Bhature and it was delicious. They have seating outside but they were very busy so we took it to go. We had an amazing experience. Will be coming back to try their sweets!
Visited today with family. Ordered Kachori chat. It was so bad!! The kachoris were made at least a day before, they were chewy. They were probably fried again. The chat was tasteless. Will never visit again.
I like this place as compared to others. everything is fresh. visit here n enjoy meal😊😊😊😊
There are 7 plates of different assortment of authentic indian dishes. They have alot of deserts also. Too much to describe. This place is right off pioneer blvd in a strip mall with parking in front.
Just the best! Very friendly people and great food without the big price tag. Family friendly and would recommend to all.
Really very good food. Fresh delicious food. Highly recommended.
Every time I come to Artesia from LA I eat something here. Their food is very good.
Great qulfee. Nice papri chaat
All time favorite stop for sweets & To-go.
This is a classic Southern California Dhabha (an Indian low cost eatery). The Punjabi offerings are excellent and the Indian sweets are very good. It is an excellent value for authentic Indian food.
Many choices for quick bites. Going here many years.
The best of the best place to eat in Artesia. This restaurant has been going for YEARS. My family and I always make an effort to come back here. The people are super nice. Food is great and best part, they’re super clean. The prices are even better. Will definitely come back again soon!
Good chai and sweets.
Food, snacks, sweets taste good & have good portions. Small seating gets crowded & feels cramped
Good food. Thanks
Good place to eat for a long time.
This is my favorite place to go. I enjoy the clean and great atmosphere with the best food. Enjoy
The new owner has made the place very pretty, however the food is not good at all. Thet used to have the best snacks and sweets. The snacks smell of old oil and hard
We belong to salt lake but whenever we visit LA this is our place to be . We love the food and staff. We make sure to bring back sweets for family and friends .
Delicious Indian Snacks, Sweets and Quick bite food you can try here. A cozy place to enjoy with family if you visiting Artesia the little India. Do visit to sooth your sugar tooth with lots of variety of Indian Sweets. enjoy guys!!
Authentic Punjabi food and sweets. They also have outdoor sitting.
The guy in the front was so rude. The food is great but service is wack.
My experience was very bad. I had bought groupon coupons, which at first they refused to accept. After we insisted they behaved very rudely. Eventually we could use the coupon but had to pay for the sweets which they earlier provided as free samples.I do not mind paying extra but I did not like the transition in their behavior. They were warm before showing the groupon coupon which drastically changed once I showed them the coupons. It was an embarrassing experience. The food was not bad (it was okay) but experience was very bad. At least not worth the embarrassment.
Excellent service experience excellent very nice place and nice people... and plz keep distance be safe
I enjoyed the food but I am not Indian. If youre in a rush this is not a fast food place. You will have to practice patience but overall i would come again.
Fresh Indian Sweets, Mumbai Street Food, Indian Tea, North Indian Food
Always prefer to go there
Great place to get some quality south Asian snacks and sweets
Very nice samosay and choley also sweets. Price is also very good. Prantha are so fresh. Can not stop eating. Very good service.
Went here for the very 1st time on my recent visit to LA. Tried the mango lassi and various sweets including gulab jamun. Everything we tasted was simply delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Clean and casual environment. Family friendly. Would visit again and recommend to all.
Very friendly staff, and delicious sweets and snacks. Good chai as well.
This place has amazing food. Very authentic and delicious. Have been here 2 times. The spice level is a little high for me. So I got mild diarrhea after both visit. But I will come here no matter how much diarrhea I get. The food is totally worth the diarrhea.
Awesome food. Quality of food is very good and people are very friendly. They are very loving and place is clean. My fav indian restaurant in LA.
My parents have been coming here since the 70’s. Great place, love the mithai-very fresh, and nice nostalgia.
The food was so bad we ordered Kachori and Samosa, sweets was so dry and not fresh, green chutney is tasteless and sweet chutney is full of colour
