For all the classes that I have done to better myself over the years, this is by far the best and most fun Ive had for a school effort. I got more out of 3 days of this class that more than outweighs the cost. We had Anna for the majority of the lessons. She was very cool and easy-going. We loved working with her. And we also loved Tom, the owner of the organization. He had some great stories. As a business owner, I can attest that he knows what hes talking about. I attended 3 days Coffee Business Class at Texas Coffee School. My experience and knowledge I learned from Tom & Anna was precise to their craft for coffee and experience toward the industry. 1st day of class we already started to learn how to make espresso, following the 2nd day with more practice and different type of drinks. I went to the class with zero knowledge of coffee industry, after the 3rd day I am motivated and confident to making a move toward opening my own coffee shop within a year. I set a goal to open my 1st coffee shop within a year. This review is 2 weeks after I attended the class. Since then I’ve been doing a lot of research everyday toward my coffee shop. I debated quite a bit over attending the 1-day online course or waiting to attend in person, I am very hands on and love being around others while learning so this was a big decision for me. I was ready for this next step so I went for the 1-day online class and I am beyond thankful that I did. Joe and I attended TCS June 12-14. We are currently building a convenience store, Old Magnolia Garage, on Rt. 66 and want to offer our customers quality coffee. I went to the coffee cupping class with a friend, and we had such a great time! I actually recommended it to my company as a team building activity, and the whole team went to a cupping class, too. It was a hit!Tom and the rest of the staff are so knowledgable about the coffee preparation journey and the best techniques for a perfect cup. Its like I stepped into my own coffee episode of Good Eats.I would highly recommend this class or any other class offered by Texas Coffee School. The attention to detail and knowledge about coffee and the industry is second to none.

I dont recommend this place. They have high employee turnover and the owner teaches classes about working in and owning a coffee shop but he has never worked in the industry outside opening a school. The knowledge they teach can be found on google. Save your money.Edit: This isnt completely off-base. The owner has never worked at a shop. He has never owned a shop. He doesnt have any first hand knowledge of the subject matter which he teaches. Dont waste your money supporting his ego.

Easily the best investment I have made in my entrepreneurial career...and I went to school for it. The program is set up to build confidence in preparation and provide excellent resources so you dont have to reinvent the wheel for setting up a coffee shop (or any business for that matter). This is a worthwhile investment 150%. I was hesitant about spending that amount for registration but I honestly feel I made my money back in the first 4 hours. Tom gave us some tips that I plugged into my financial plan and it saved me about $4,000 BOOM!.

The class was very informative especially for a newbie. I am a Keurig and flavored cream drinker and was amazed by the difference a good coffee and perfect brew make. I was able to drink it straight. The staff was very down to earth and helped answer all of the questions we had.We would definitely recommend the course to a friend. If you are seriously considering opening a coffee shop, this will be the best investment you could make before getting started.

The information that Tom shares during this class is very thorough and is based not only in an extensive amount of experience but also in research and data. Claire and Robert were also fantastic. They covered all aspects of coffee equipment and making the perfect coffee, espresso drinks, and teas. To anyone, at any stage of the process of opening your own coffee business, I cannot recommend highly enough that you take this class. You’ll have so many moments throughout the 3 days that you’ll think to yourself “I’m so glad I decided to come!”.

This class totally surpassed my expectations! I was not really sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. I learned so many interesting and important information needed to start a coffee shop. Robert and Claire were awesome. Tom is such a coffee nerd and awesome as well. You can tell that they all enjoy their graft. Absolutely fantastic - both myself and staff have attend classes at TCS and I am glad that we did it. The attention to detail given by Tom and staff is fantastic. Its a very hands on experience in a small setting that allows for everyone in attendance to get hands on experience in all aspects of coffee and running a shop. I cannot express how much I appreciate the course that was put together for starting a specialty coffee shop. That amount I learned over a weekend course at Texas Coffee School was much more than I expected. First of all let me start by saying GREAT job to Tom who was helped by Jonah. The 3 day course was very informative,starting from the very first day you are given a lot of information, which at time might look a lot,but it takes a bit of time to process,dont let that discourage you. I highly recommend Texas Coffee School for someone thats looking to get into the coffee business and learn more about coffee, Tom has done a great job putting the course together, and that is from years of experience and its not out of some text book that you find on the internet, Tom is the text book of hes own. I literally traveled half way around the world just to attend hes course which was worth it. At the end of the 3 day course Tom hands out all the information that was talked over the 3 days, you hardly take any notes, its all there for you. On a last note, after the end of the course you will have a totally different prospective on coffee, coffee is a lifestyle, its a different kind of art. Thank you TOM.

My husband & I both attended - COMPLETELY worth the investment - I have never seen so much attention detail! I believe no stone was left unturned - volumes of information on every aspect, but so organized and easy to follow I left equipped to zero in on our purpose - the heavy lifting of the business details were literally in my hands when we left - I am genuinely more excited than I though possible to move forward with plans to open my own shop!
