Chicken kabob was so delicious with grilled veggies and mushed potatoes(but you get only 4small pieces of chicken).Chicken marsala was also good . Fried calamari comes in big portion with a cup of marinara sauce, that sauce is my favorite. Chocolate lava cake was more like brownie cake than lava cake. Mojito wasn’t good, tasted like only vodka and water mixed together. As soon you are seated they bring delicious bread and butter. Overall this is quite good place with great atmosphere, reasonable prices and good service.
This restaurant is wonderful! It is reminiscent of an old supper club. Beautiful decor and great menu make this a place we will enjoy again. They even have entertainment Thursday through Sunday. Id give it 6 stars if I could.
The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful! We’ve been here on many occasions, unfortunately our last visit was not the best. Although the staff is always on point, they weren’t for our last visit. One of the staff had dropped an ice cold water on the back of my seat, going all over myself and my coat. Mistakes happen, which I understand & this wasn’t the main reasoning for the review. As usual, we’d ordered multiple appetizers, and entrees. The plates did not look their best, and unfortunately a lot of the dishes were over cooked. We ordered multiple of the double baked potato (being one of my favorites here), but unfortunately it was horrible. Two of the potatoes were cold, and the other two were so hard it was not editable. If we return, hopefully the next visit goes better.
The place is really elegant and stylish, live piano music, right amount of light and very friendly staff. The food is very well cooked and the waiting time is fashionable. A bit pricey but it really stands to the height of the expectations. We definitely recommend to anybody wishes to spend a pleasurable night out.
We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Love this place! The food was amazing as usual. Our favorites were Oysters Rockefeller, escargot, grilled calamari were awesome. For main course we ordered house special halibut Mediterranean style and rack of lamb. It was delicious! Great experience, great service. We will definitely come back.
My meal was superb. My salmon Wellington was moist and flavorful. The champagne sauce was the right touch.
A bit on the posh side friendly staff excellent food quickly put our party at ease. Dress is business casual and the menu offers a wide selection of moderately priced cuisine. The wine selection is wide and offers something for everyone. Definitely will be back for another visit!
Such a positive surprise. Started with scallops in garlic sauce, even though not a big fan of scallops, but the sauce was garlicy and there were pine nuts, so it was a grat combination and smooth taste. There was complimentary bread which was so tasty! For entrees we had ribeye (cooked and seasoned perfectly, with rosemary and butter), pork chops were tender and tasty as well. We also had Hover Sole which was deboned by table, it had great rich sauce! Service was excellent, bill was smaller than we expected! Great experience, will be back to try more of their great seafood options!
Food was good, service was horrible. I had saved for my husband and I to have a good meal here but service was slow, and I ask for a drink and never got it, no water either. So we had the food boxed and left. The only high point was the 💭 musician they had, took my mind off the fact we were treated like trash. Do yourself a favor, save your money and go elsewhere. I sure wish we did. By the way we spent over $100, you would think they would try to do something to make a decent tip!
Excellent prime rib, friendly service and good live music.
Great food, table service from Kristin, bar service from Terry & entertainment! Add this place to your list.
We had dinner reservations in the igloo with our friends celebrating their anniversary. To start with the food is below average. Do not try the Beef Wellington, it’s terrible. On top of that, middle of our dinner the lights in the parking light were turned off so we couldn’t even see our dinner. Not even to see how meat was cooked. We called to talk to the manager and he was extremely rude. Did not want to listen our concern and he did not much care about what we had to say either. Overall did not leave the place happy at all.
Old school fine dining that was well prepared and delicious.
Had a family Sunday lunch for a small group in from NY and Dallas as this was one of my moms favorite places. We were not disappointed as the food was great, service was top notch and great overall experience.
Updated: we had a dinner in that bubble, nobody don’t said me that deposit 29$ is for rent that bubble, I thought it will be in my payment when I finish, nobody don’t said me that I must spend at least 150 $ for my dinner and minimum people is 4. And all time they check if you done, people came to restaurant to have relax, but it’s look like I need eat faster and faster because they need to clean.Everything tasty, fish Halibut delicious, duck very delicious, fried calamari and desert good too. Table need to book few days before planning your dinner
Went there for a special occasion, wedding anniversary. Was there with four other people, and we all enjoyed our meal. The service was very good. And there were lots of things to choose from for our entrees.
Great food and very nice people. The coffee was very strong did not like it, but everything else was very good....
My mother and her friends of similar age went out on Saturday August 28, 2021 to celebrate her 94th birthday. They were seated in a private area and were very happy about the table they were given. As soon as the ladies were seated and ordered appetizers and drinks, a large party descended into the area where Mom and friends were seated. Aside from the fact that no one in this large party had masks, but they were so close to moms table that they knocked her cane off of her chair. My mom and friends couldn’t hear each other to make conversation. Waitstaff could barely get to their table. I am writing as her daughter because these lovely ladies aren’t computer savvy and I want to make sure their story is told. I wonder if it’s easier to treat the elderly poorly aince they are less likely to post on social media. No one offered to comp any portion of their meal or apologize. Oh well guess they’ll have to wait till next birthday 95. @palmcourt are you proud of this experience?
Excellent ambience, best staff ever, the food is very tasty and very well prepared, although the onion soup was a little bit too salty. No complains.
A fun lively and very busy upscale place. The 6 of us had a variety of dishes that we were pleased with. I had the salmon, which was delicious. We came to hear Chicagos Own Piano Man -Nick Psyhogios was great as always.
Flawless food and service! They have been open for 42 years, we first visited in 1984
OLD SCHOOL STEAK HOUSE LOVE IT!!!!WENT for lunch will be going back for cocktails dinner and live music!! So happy they havent changed with the times.
Julian was our server and his table side manner was outstanding! The food was ambrosial and quickly cooked. My friends and I loved the outdoor dining! (A nice touch) and everything was reasonably priced. Thank you Julian and the staff at Palm Court Restaurant
The chicken marsala was excellent. They also have private party rooms.
We were invited to attend Greek Night at this restaurant. We walked in and immediately loved the ambiance, size.and cleanliness. Prices on the menu ranged from inexpensive to moderate with a nice array of food choices. Food was wonderful, nicely prepared and ample portions. Wait staff very attentive . Could not find a single fault. Earns the best rating by my standards
Great service, great food. Wonderful portions.
This place cost a ton of money to be disappointing. The french onion soup was broth, 2 onion slices, a dinner roll topped with dried parmesan. The NY strip had dreams of becoming USDA Choice but didnt put the work in. To compensate, they put so much salt on the steak that the Dead Sea was jealous. The result was a tough, salty steak that was like eating wet jerky. And despite the potato being baked twice, it was still cold in the middle. To wash it all down, you can pay $6 for a domestic bottle. No draft beers. I am usually not super negative on a place but this place is definitely somewhere to avoid at all costs unless your 80 years old and looking for a familiar ambiance. The waitress was really nice, though.
Beware: this restaurant will double-book reservations and seat you in the most inconvenient location. My family reserved a private table in the restaurant for a birthday dinner and was told it was available. On the day of the reservation, we were notified that they had double-booked that table and we were getting the boot. They sat our large party of 10 people right next to the performers! The performers started their show, and some of my family was enjoying the music and singing along until Deb became annoyed with us and said under her breath for us to hear, “next time, just shut my mic off and let them sing.” Our visit was tainted after this occurred. Even though the restaurant said they would compensate us with free desserts because of the inconvenience, we couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Unfortunately, they only had 3 or so servers tending to the 20+ tables in our section so service was extremely slow. I understand if they’re having a hard time finding servers to work, but don’t fill the entire restaurant to full capacity then! The restaurant & furniture could really use a major makeover, and the parking lot needs to be replaced as well. All in all, this was my first and last visit here.
Would have been 5 stars if it was not all covered in cheese. Not much for the unfortunate lactose intolerant percentage of the population
Wow... first of all the customer service was amazing. Our server was Julian and he was the best waiter I’ve ever had. Such amazing service. The food was also amazing and fresh. Definitley coming back!
My husband and I have been going to Palm Court for over 20 years. The ambiance is wonderful and the service impeccable—- however the last 2 times were disappointing. Months ago I went with my daughter She is a professor at Iowa State university. My Lamb chops were almost unedable. I did not want to complain in front of my daughterThis past Friday I went with my girlfriend for a birthday dinner I ordered the Scallops and Filet Mignon. It cost $56.00 which I thought was too high plus the small fillet had gobs of fat in it. I had a birthday dessert and was charged $8.00 for it!!! Never before have I been charged for a birthday dessert!!!! What a disappointing dinner
We probably will not go back. This used to be a reliable place for good food, good timing of courses and atmosphere to die for. Not anymore. The waitress had too many tables, the courses came on top of each other - no spacing, the marsala sauce was raw wine with overdone mushrooms and the music was eardrum piercing. Oh, and in this time of pandemic, very little in the way of precautions.
Hostess and host (owner?) refused to wear masks, even after asked, and half the waitstaff didnt wear masks, or wore improperly. The Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken came dried and crusty on top layer, tasted grainy, like Kraft Dinner Mac&cheese, and had about 1/2 of a chicken tender.. Iced tea was actually iced coffee, by accident.
It is a very comforting experience....thoughtful wait staff and really good food. Have been coming herefor a longtime and I am never disappointed.
This restaurant is phenomenal! I’ve eaten here a couple times and while I don’t get to visit often, every time I do visit it’s like I’m dining with old friends. The staff are so friendly and helpful, they truly want you to enjoy yourselves. They check up on you frequently to make sure you’re comfortable, your food is good, and just to overall see how you’re enjoying your visit. If for whatever reason something about your visit doesn’t satisfy you or you have an issue while you’re eating, just tell the staff. There’s no need to be rude because they just want what’s best for you. So just communicate with them if you don’t like something, and they will do everything they can to fix it.
Last night (Friday, December 27th) my partner and I made an hour long trip to the Palm Court restaurant for a spontaneous date night. I am not at all exaggerating when I say that I received the BEST service of my life here. Upon entering the restaurant we noticed that it was a little busy, however, after checking in with the host, we were informed that the wait time would only be fifteen minutes... considering that we didnt have a reservation AND that it was a Friday night we were ecstatic. The Hostess, Evelyn, was absolutely amazing. She continuously checked in on us as we waited and when our table was ready (mind you, our table was ready way before our 15 minute wait was up) she showed us to our table. At one point she even checked in on us during our dinner to make sure we were enjoying our meal. She went above and beyond and her service left little to be desired. Our waitress, Allison, also helped to make this night memorable. She greeted us shortly after we were seated and got our drink orders immediately. She recommended the specials and gave us a minute to look over the menu while she brought us our drinks, and she got us started with a couple of appetizers. She was very attentive throughout the night (there was not a moment where our glasses were empty) and she made sure to clear the table whenever it was needed... she was absolutely wonderful. What made the night the most memorable though was the food. We ordered scallops and escargot to start off and it was not a long wait at all. We LOVED them. I had never had escargot before and was incredibly hesitant to try it but good god I am so happy I worked up the courage to do so. For our main dish we ordered the surf n turf (as pictured) and if I could, I would eat that exact dish every day for the rest of my life. Everything was cooked to perfection and the presentation was done so well I ALMOST felt bad for digging in... almost. Dessert was just barely ordered because we were so stuffed. I wish I could have gotten a picture of what we got but you dont think about those kind of things when you are in the most heavenly food coma of your life. We have since made the drive back home and I have already debated making the (now) six hour drive back. I highly recommend visiting!
First time visitor here. Was in the mood for steak and this place showed up in my search area and once I read that this place has a 50s Rat Pack vibe, I was there. The restaurant is very welcoming and we sat in the lounge with the live piano which was a great touch. In total we had the Porterhouse special, the mussels special, and the cream of mushroom soup. Everything was delicious. The steak was right on my mid rare, as seen in the picture. The twice baked potato was good, nothing special. The mussels were tender and came with a heap of pasta. I will definitely be going back here when the steak craving hits again.
I had a horrible experience with manager George I asked why the seafood pasta only came with 2 shrimp and nothing else and the rest pasta if it was supposed to be seefood pasta Very grown up George came to the table to argue in front of my 88 year old mother in law no matter what everyone the other customers were seeing how rude and rude he was doing in front of an old woman. That is not the behavior that a manager should have in front of the clients
The food was excellent, the entertainment was fantastic, the service was Great. Mike at the Host station was Great!!!
Wonderful food. Great service!
So rumor has it, the restaurant changed ownership in January. Ive never been here before but decided to give it a shot after reading an article in the Daily Herald. All I have to say is UH-mazing. They had a crab leg special so I ordered that with the lobster tail (a bit hungry). My hubby ordered the Tomahawk and split it with my kids - it is HUGE and was cooked to perfection. Grandma ordered the lamb, they were beautiful. All I have to say is YUM. I will definitely be back. The ambiance is nice - very old school supper club feel. Live music was unique. Felt like I stepped back in time - a really cool experience. Booking my sons family graduation party here - the private rooms are very elegant.
Place is great! I got the 14oz sirloin and it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Could barely finish it. The rolls are excellent! Crusty outside but warm soft inside. House salads were a little lacking on freshness but I assume that’s due to the crazy cold weather. Atmosphere is amazing and I love the music selection. My girlfriend loved her 8oz filet as well. We will be back!
Was there for a funeral luncheon. Food, bar and wait staff excellent and efficient. Will definitely visit again when in town.
Food, service and entertainment were excellent. Our waitress Gina was wonderful.
Despite the pandemic, Palm Court did an incredible job of creating a wonderful environment for guests. We had the honor of enjoying their custom domes/igloos on the second night they had them. Jamal was our waiter and his personality made the experience even better. Food was cooked to perfection and the ambiance made a memorable evening for my wife’s birthday. Each dome fits 8, we had our immediate family for a party of 7. Thank you Palm Court for a memorable evening.
We have been going to Palm Court for over 20 years but over the past year the food has taken a big drop. We normally order the filet and twice our steaks has been on the chewy side and the twice baked seemed like it was 4th baked and very dry. It seems to me they are getting their steaks from a new supplier as they don’t have the same velvet texture. It’s to bad but I can’t afford to have parts of a filet that can’t be chewed. Time to find somewhere else to get my steaks.
Pretty good Dover Sole dinner set.Amazingly good fries - lightly breaded and very crunchy.Spacious indoor sitting and dome-shape outdoor sitting.
The food was amazing!! They give you huge portions and you definitely get your bang for the buck! But the service was slow and it was not that busy. I will definitely be back, but probably sit at the bar next time.
Door dash delivered. The shrimp were ice cold along with the potato. Shrimp was burnt and tasted awful. The only thing hot and good was the soup. $60 just thrown away in the garbage
I went to this restaurant tonight and our group had an igloo. I love supporting restaurants right now! They had a heating device right in the entrance to the igloo that was live fire. Great. I walked into it and my coat caught a flame and was destroyed. I went to the owner and he told me that the staff tells people it is there. I said that no one told me and he said that it was basically on me as I arrived a few minutes late and just walked in. He actually brought me himself to the igloo and never warned me of the fire.
The Palm Court was a delicious dining experience. We were greated at the front door with a smile and escorted to the table of our choice. The server was extremely polite and helped us with recommendations of drinks and appetizers. Dinners were delicious and generous portions, enough to take home. We will be back!
Very good ... service, Very good ... food, very nice ... atmosphere. All around great experience for Mothers Day. Most important fact is mom loved it.
A few of my friends and I enjoyed the igloo dining experience very much this past Friday. We had Jamal as a server and he was fantastic. While this year was much different then the usual holiday get together, we had the best time, and the whole staff at palm court was to thank for that! Great food, excellent service, and a great time all around.
Prices have gone up considerably under new ownership. Food is still great. Service spotty.
Good place for old adults, no kids allowed, thank goodness.
We went there for dinner was seated by entertainment fell down hurt my leg real bad I was very disappointed no one from resturant came over to the table.told manager on way out he was very rude telling me his stair was legal there is nothing he can do about it they need to fix it light it up l. ights there were broke no railing. very rude management this was Friday night 2 man and 1 woman were there whenI was walking out it was the 2 men who spoke like they didnt care Thank you Palm court
I went on Valentine Day, it was a really good experience... The food was good and the live headliner was Elvis!! 😃 We sat near the fireplace the atmosphere was great. If Im in the neighborhood I would go back.
Six of us dined in an igloo and had a wonderful time. Everyone was very happy with their drinks (old fashioned, Manhattan, scotch), wines, appetizers (scallops, Oysters Rockefeller), entrees (I had Walleye), and desserts. The staff was really working hard, especially Jessica, who was kind and very funny. The atmosphere was very nice too, comfortable, warm and romantic, with a Bluetooth speaker for us to use. Cant wait to go back!
Good food, but lacks the refinement and upkeep of the nice restaurant it’s trying to be. Very slow service.
Outstanding! From the decor to the bar great atmosphere. Friendly staff who gave great suggestions for appetizers and meals . Waitress Dianne, was very helpful and made the dining experience incredible. She and the rest of the staff went out of their way to ensure a memorable experience. Loved ut!
A good dining experience!
Good food and service in a pleasant environment. A nice lunch menu with many entrees for $15-18. Linen tablecloth.
Good old school dining. Wish they still had the sweetbreads, they were the best.
Superior service and appreciative staff. Food was very good and enjoyed by all in our party.
Enjoyed the food and service, had a great time. Our igloo was warm and was provided with a Bluetooth speaker. Only thing I could knock something for was my reservation being at 815, didn’t get seated till 830 not a big deal but it’s just one of those things of why it’s important to make a reservation
The food was good but they really rip you off when you purchase the king crab legs. Beware, they charge $69 per serving. You can purchase 1-1/4 pounds of crab legs from the grocery store for $34.99.
It is very good. Nice place for a special occasion. Staff friendly. Portions are good. Usually take some home.
Great food and service. Very fair prices.
Classic dinning experience.
New place for me and will not be going back. Its definitely a place for locals and couples but not for 4 mature women getting together for dinner. Service was subpar and the food was just ok.
This place has really improved in quality.
Always a classy place with excellent food and service.
Classy place great owner one of the best places to relax and eat great food Ritchie
Nice place, live music, interior, but food isnt good . Do not come here for eat just drinks
I don’t live in area, so I’ve only visited once for a banquet meal. However, the service, the friendly employees and the food was all top notch.
Great food excellent service but they wouldnt accept Visa gift card I wanted to pay part of bill with and no explanation
I had a really great time at this place. The food was amazing. Escargot was delicious. The goat cheese appetizer was delicious. I love French onion soup but it wasnt to my liking at this place, however, there was a lot of cheese in it. Fried calamari was delicious. Side salad was fresh.. The cream of asparagus soup was yummy. I ordered the prime rib. The meat was cooked on point. Lamb chop was cooked on point but my husband and son didnt like the sauce (some type of mustard maybe) on it. The kids menu, super awesome that they have steak on the menu for them besides chicken tenders, Mac n cheese, etc. The duck was delicious. Mashed sweet potatoes was great. For dessert, the coconut creme brule, key lime pie, and cheesecake were all super delicious. Surprisingly, key lime pie was my favorite. Very friendly service. The outdoor seating was nice. We loved everything from this place. I dont know how many times Ive said delicious but thats the only word for the food. The only downfall was the knives. They were kind of dull which made it hard to cut through our meat. Besides that, I would definitely visit again!
Very delicious and classic environment
Food is amazing. I would highly recommend the filets. Everyone in my party had their steaks cooked differently. Each steak was cooked to perfection.
Excellent place to go for lunch or dinner. No matter what you order its always good.
I love trying new things when I come here, and have actually found a love for escargot. Something I didn’t think I’d ever try, but it’s seriously delicious. I also had scallops here for the first time, and those are also delicious!
My family and i a party of 9 went to palm court last night may 8th to celebrate mothers day and the first time we have been able to celebrate together the first time in a year we arrived at 5:00 got seated right away once the server came to our table she asked us for drink orders she kinda saw of looking and her because she was not wearing a mask (we had noticed that everyone else there was wearing a mask) she responded to us by saying I have been vaccinated kinda cocky (well she should have assumed maybe not everyone at our table was not we had two children who have not because they are not old enough) she was in such a hurry we ordered several appitizers and she walked away before we were done so when she came back we told her we needed to order more appitizers when she returned to the table she had a childs packet with a coloring book and crayons which was very nice she brought one to the table and naturally the 2 kids ages 5 and 1 wanted to play with it so we asked her if she could bring another one and we were told no that the kids had to share. Again we let that remark go. So next we placed our food order and it was brought out to us and I noticed that on my plate i had ordered the twiced baked potato so i told her that she gave me a baked potato not a twiced baked she kinda brushed it off so i repeated it thinking maybe she didnt hear me and her response was I heard you. So anyway our me our food was great. So on to the next when we were ready to order our dessert we asked her if we could place an order for dinner to go as one of our quest had to cancel at the last minute and again she looked at us and said No it would take to long and look at the table over there they have not even got there food yet these were her exact words to us so we just kinda sat there wilth our mouths dropped open and she walked away when she came back we said we are not doing take out tonight and I tell the truth again her exact words. So we ordered our dessert and then asked for our check which she promptly brought. So my husband paid the bill and gave the server a 150.00 dollar tip he was kinda unaware of what went down at the other end of the table. So when she came back to the table she was all smiles and happy and friendly because of her tip I quess. The food was excellent at the restaurant and would go back. But I really think this server is bad for there business and management should be aware of this situation. Sorry for the long posted but needed to get this off my chest.
I had a top sirloin, rare, and it was fantastic! perfectly cooked rare and a nice char to the outside. I could tell the meat was high quality too. Came with two sides so the value was really good for a fancy restaurant.
The food is consistent (always great). The service is great. Always a great experience they always exceed my expectations.
Love this place been funny here since it opened
Amazing prime rib!
This restaurant is my favorite go to spot for a delicious meal as well as a cocktail. The food is amazing but more importantly the staff is kind as well goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Cant go wrong with anything on their menu.... its all amazing just me.
Great experience dining in the bubble. Couple of miscues with our waiter. Food was excellent.
My boyfriend brought me here for Valentines day (my request) simply because I love the Escargot here. We ordered Escargot, Calamari (fried) they also have (grilled), Prime Rib, and 16 oz NY Strip. Prime rib was okay, but a little more fatty than I am used to. The NY Strip was d e l i c i o u s!!!I will order that the next time instead of the Prime Rib. We usually go around 3:30 or 4 pm to beat the dinner rush. If you are looking for a younger crowd this is not the place for you. 99% of the customers in there are late 60s to 90s. This is my 3rd time there (we are young not old) due to the food. I love older people, so I dont mind the atmosphere. You will definitely be taking home leftovers. Soup or salad is also offered with these meals and delicious bread. I turned down the soup and salad simply because I know I wont be able to eat any of my dinner.Service was okay, hence the 4 stars.
