Where do I start with this experience? The dreaded mattress shopping experience is as bad (actually worse, in my opinion) as shopping for a car or home. The task is daunting, the options are infinite and the process is completely overwhelming.I start out by doing my online research since everyone has a computer nowadays, and the population is afraid to leave their homes to go anywhere thanks to Covid and the endless media scaring everyone into a bunker. Most people are familiar with all the top brands such as Sealy, Serta, Tempur-Pedic, Simmons, Beautyrest and every other brand. Now, each of these brands all have the firmness or softness to their beds so you cant take someone elses word on that as you need to experience the comfort for yourself. In the end, you are forced to go to the big box stores and lay in beds for all the above.Now, youve gone to a few stores and laid in several beds you were interested in, but you need to narrow it down to the best price, warranty and comfort level. Through your shopping experience, you noticed that a few of the beds are very similar. That is because EACH store has their own spin on the exact same mattress, meaning that the one called something at one store is in fact called something else (yet similar) in another store. To add to that confusion, you cant take the name of the one you liked at one store and go to their competitor for a price match or better price scenario because it is called something different altogether!Then, there are all these new mattress stores/beds that are online only style companies and beds such as Purple, Casper, Saatva, Leesa and the other handful of beds in a box not mentioned. Now, our brains go into system overload because we know we spent hours at a few stores lying in beds that we were trying to determine worked best only to see beds with fantastic ratings that we cant actually see, touch or lay in at all. Most of these companies all have some type of return issues or extra fee involved. Of course, their beds tend to be a bit cheaper as they dont have to pay for rent as they arent the traditional brick and mortar store. That said, they pay the hell out of advertising and for the correct reviews to be displayed. My opinion on this is simple- DONT!With all that in mind, I was able to find EXACTLY what I needed and from who was going to help facilitate this tedious task for my wife and I. I came across a gentleman by the name of Scott at Mattress by Appointment. I was unfamiliar with this company, but saw they sold mattresses of all kinds at deep discounts. Now, most of the time if it sounds too good to be true, then I am the first to say IT IS! However, I did my online diligence to check it out. Of course, it was back to the mixed reviews and people who had a bad experience due to something they did not want to accept as user error and did the traditional finger-pointing instead.Anyway, I made my appointment where my wife and I met with Scott. We walked into the room after greeting one another and saw a variety of mattresses to choose from. Starting to feel overwhelmed again, I told Scott we were really only looking for beds that were comfort firm to firm, but would like some of the bells and whistles. Each bed Scott showed us came with a detailed explanation and description because he is so familiar with the products and warranties as well as answered all of our questions. Scott was very attentive to our needs and had a great personality to go with our experience. Finally, a breath of fresh air on all accounts!Long story short, (too late, right?) we chose a mattress and paid. Two days later, our mattress was delivered and our old mattress was taken away. Months later, we are sleeping more comfortably than ever before, and we owe that to the expertise and knowledge Scott provided us. In the end, dont waste your time, energy or patience going to these other stores. Scott has something for everyone at all different prices and he is so easy to work with.
