Bought Home Depot Carpet and had GS Flooring install it. My experience with customer service at GS was great. Everyone was help full and great. However at the install GS Flooring did not get all the carpet cause Home Depot didnt give them the proper measurements. So they were short. They were able to finish the job 3 weeks later. Reason for 1 less star is cause I kept having to call to set up a time since their text service didnt work.
Made purchase on 6/23/21. FLOORING BATHROOM, HALLWAY & STAIRS .Install was rescheduled 3 different times. Finally given date of 10/2. no 1 ever bother to call & give a time for installation. we had to reach out to them. was told between 12-2 . well its now 3:45 & no one has called or showed up. Very DISAPPOINTED :( should have read the reviews b4 purchase) HOME DEPOT needs to stop during business with this company.
My husband and I were very pleased with the work done by our two installers. They were very polite, careful, and efficient. They completed the job in a timely manner. Thank you for an awesome job!
I ordered vinyl plank flooring through Home Depot and GS Flooring was the contracted installer. There was an issue with the original material and GS Flooring worked with me the entire time and got the issue resolved. I worked with Laurie who was great and very attentive throughout the whole time. The installers did a great job. I would recommend GS Flooring and would use them again in the future.
The worst company EVER!! If there were 0 stars to be given, thats how many they would get from me! NEVER SHOWED UP FOR A CARPET INSTALLATION. Called 24 hours in advance to tell me that they will be at my home installing the carpet between 9-11AM, even though they have made an appointment they didnt even bother showing up! I have called multiple times and they are not picking up the phone. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE, THEY DONT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!
Horrible installation. Glue-down carpet with spots of glue coming through, tacky carpet in some areas, bubbles of air and squishy pockets of glue you can move around underneath the carpet. Several stains from when they tried to clean some spots that are dry but now permanently discolored. Will never let them install carpet again and never buy carpet from the Home Depot ever.
We ordered Lifeproof flooring from Home Depot for the majority of our first floor and GS was our installer. I have to admit I was nervous after looking at these reviews, but I could not be happier with the results. The crew was great, extremely quick, polite, and they did a fantastic job. I would easily have them do work again and recommend them to all.
I was leary of using Home Depot after I read the reviews as well..but I remembered GS did my mothers house 3 years ago and they did a good job, so I decided to go thru with the installation... I was so glad I did! The job went smooth, quick and clean. Very professional and it looked great afterwards! Keep in mind, it takes a couple weeks to get stairs done from your original appointment.. they measure the stairs first and then come back with it precut ready to go.. DONT GO BY THE OLD REVIEWS..you wont be disappointed! Great Job!
We were happy with carpet installation. The reason for three stars is that the communication for the appointment and arrival time was very poorThe contractor was polite, professional and, cleaned up after the installation.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! IF HOME DEPOT GOES THROUGH THEM CANCEL YOUR ORDER! Nightmare dealing with them. The most unprofessional company Ive ever dealt with. They dont even answer the phones over there. They came out to install our vinyl flooring, saw a crack, and then just left us high and dry. No recommendations on what to do or anything. No assistance from then on. Seriously, go somewhere else to get your floor done. Anywhere else. We cancelled through Home Depot and looks like we may have been one of the lucky ones. Just read other reviews about the work they do. Terrible.
Raising up from 1-star because the vast majority of our vinyl flooring installation looks fantastic. Unfortunately, in one of the rooms, they laid the planks the wrong direction and it doesnt match the rest of the installs. Initially, their customer service was responsive. Now, two months later, the issue still isnt corrected and were going to be forced to call Home Depot to get involved. I give some credit to the person thats been corresponding with me. It appears shes been trying to help but the ownership either cant or wont stand behind their work. Dont let Home Depot set you up with this company. If anything goes wrong youll be left without resolution. Install it yourself or find another contractor.4/10/21 UPDATE: Theyve finally worked out the fix, 6 months later. Lori did a really nice job staying on it but overall, the 2-star experience has to stick.
We received incredibly good service from GS Flooring. The company installed professionally and did a great job with keeping us informed throughout the entire process. The company kept us up-to-date with scheduling and were responsive. The installer, John, was very very good and really made sure our project went well. Overall, an excellent outcome. We would highly recommend GS Flooring.
I live in Naperville and ordered 1200 sq. ft of carpeting for my second floor from Home Depot. The offer included free installation. The GS folks showed up on time and got right to work. Nine hours later, I had an excellent install of carpeting. The GS folks moved furniture, removed my old carpet and did an expert install. Also, the lead installer suggested a stair install that really defined each stair. My prior two carpet installations did the easier install without definition. The stair install looks much better. Very pleased with the GS install.
If your looking at HomeDepot for flooring installation, just run away. Waited a month for our installation and dudes came in looked at the house for 5 mins and said floor wasnt level. Company called 4 hours after they left said we can only install carpet. Found another local installer who came out the same day these lazy installers left and got to work instantly (cheaper install price than GS). Deeply regret taking the chance and ignoring all the prior reviewers. How they still do business with this company is mind boggling.
Welp, all I can say is look at the reviews and beware!! We purchased floors through Home Depot and this is who they set us up with. Guy shows up @9:00am and rips up all of our carpet, then disappears! We call and leave messages, finally @1:30pm they call back and say they can’t do the job, floor is not level, subfloor can’t be leveled blah blah blah....and suggest we buy carpeting. What a joke
I had my carpet installed on 10/04/2019. I had such an awesome crew doing the job. The three gentlemen were very respectful and friendly. The worked was neat and they were careful with the furniture that was still in the living room and dining room. I was very pleased with their work.
We purchased our carpet through Home Deport and had GS install it. Everything was fantastic from GS Floor. The installers were on time, friendly, and very careful when moving items. The finished product is better than I expected and they made the staircase look wonderful. I would use GS Floor for any future flooring needs.
Lazy Installer came and said they couldn’t do the job and then disappeared.
Home depot uses GS flooring. I will never use them again. The trim on my wood floor looks awful. They came back and put putty over the horrible cuts and looks worse. Paul came out and looked at it and said he would put new quarter round and threshold to fix the horrible job and there would be no cost. But when he submitted paperwork it was gonna be another $400 dollars. He lied to me. I already spent $3000 for a floor they botched. I wish I could attach pictures. Beware. Do not use them.
This company works with Home Depot for floor installation. Their subcontractor wasnt happy he had to work today. After finding multiple excuses left. Too many other floor contractors available to settle with this place. Lesson learned!!
Though the quality of the end product was fine, the process to get there was abysmal! They are Home Depots installation partner, so Id expected at least mediocre service. Issue #1 was the scheduling process. They wont allow you to schedule an appointment until the hardwood arrives at Home Depot. That sounds fine, but once it arrives at Home Depot, I had to schedule the appointment nearly 2 weeks out! When they finally came, they told me that my floor was not level and it would cost $3,800 to level my floor (mind you, this is a 700 square foot apartment, and the initial installation cost was $3,000). I could tell they were just being greedy, but they would not negotiate, and they knew I needed to get the floor installed quickly since I had already pulled up the carpets and was living on the concrete foundation. I decided to bite the bullet reluctantly. It took them another 2 weeks to actually get the floors installed. What really pissed me off is that they sub-contracted the floor leveling, and the sub-contractor left me the invoice showing that they only charged GS Flooring $1,800. This was highway robbery, and I would never recommend GS Flooring to my worst enemy! They did nothing to help or provide good customer service; they were slow, added an insane amount of additional cost, and did a fine, not excellent, job on the install. The actual installation process was a nightmare in itself and required re-work afterward, but I think all the factors above should be enough to show you that any other vendor would be better.
Our door installer arrived right on time and his job was excellent. Robert R. could give lessons on how to be proud of the work one does because it not only reflects yourself but the business you work for. I would recommend G&S to anyone as long as you have Robert or someone like him. Thank you......
Professional and Courteous - Gus and his team were prompt and extremely helpful when there was a problem with the measurements from Home Depot. The order was delayed for a week until Home Depot could fix their error, and it was GS Floor Designs that worked with me to quickly install when the carpet finally came in. They were wonderful and I would highly recommend them! Cant say the same for the Home Depot. (Will purchase carpet from someone else in the future).
After purchasing carpet from Home Depot, we found out that G&S Floor Designs would be the installers. I have to admit that, after reading the reviews online, I was incredibly hesitant to move forward with the project, but we went ahead anyway and I could not be more satisfied with the service we received. The installers were friendly, professional, and respectful, and they kept us informed and made sure we understood what was going on during every step of the process. They were clean and organized, and put everything back the way it was before the carpet was installed. They arrived within the 2 hour window that was provided to us, and completed the job in just a few hours. I would use G&S Floor Designs again, given the opportunity! Thank you!
I didnt actually visit the store but Im reliably informed they are a good place. I was actually at a National Drive Electric Week event!
I was connected with G S Floor Designs for a carpet install through Home Depot. Usually these sort of second hand introductions lead to bad service, but not this time. Jim was able to schedule the install around my move-in date and inspection despite heavy orders due to a recent flood. Its great to find people who simply return phone calls when they say they will and follow through. Heres hoping the install is as good as the customer service.
Purchased hardwood flooring from Home Depot. G.S. Floor Designs were the installers. From scheduling to install, they did a great job. Michael worked his butt off and did a great job..
I used this company because they are a contractor for home depot. Poor communication. I had to call to find out when installers would be arriving even though they were supposed to call me. I was given a 2 hour time frame of when installers would be there but they arrived 15 minutes after that time frame. Once they did arrive they got to work quickly and finished fast. They did a fantastic job and cleaned up when finished. I was nervous with all the bad reviews but it turned out just fine. Just need to improve on communication.
G S Floor Designs is a horrible company! Now I understand why they have a less than 3 star rating. Jurka is completely useless with no customer service skills! Will make sure Home Depot Corporate office hears about my experience with this terrible company. I will go elsewhere and I guarantee GS will not be the company I work with.
Worst business experience Ive ever had. I purchased laminate flooring through the Home Depot in Glendale Heights IL They came to my house to measure and gave me an estimate. I proceeded to schedule my installation. Thats when the trouble started. I wont bore you with the things that occurred before my scheduled installation. They use GS Floor Designs to install. I took 2 days off of work for my scheduled installation which was arranged by GS Floor Designs. When the installers arrived the first day (at noon) I knew right away they were not going to install. They were rude and only one of the 2 spoke some broken English. They told me they thought I had asbestos in my old tile (I dont) and that I needed leveling (I dont). Meanwhile they cut an 8 in gash in the carpet in my entryway and pulled up a metal transition piece and left about 2 feet of the metal sticking straight up. (Btw, at that point if I had decided not to do my floors anymore, I would have had no choice because of the damage they did.)They informed me that they would not be installing that day and my bill was about to get a lot larger. The installers informed me that This happens all the time. After the installers left, I didnt hear from GS Floor and Designs so I decided to call them. Of course, I was given to someones voicemail. I then decided to email them. Their email link on their website did not work so I typed in the email address. Guess what? The email bounced. Of course, I have never heard back from them. If you purchase your flooring from Home Depot, my advice is to hire your own installer first. Of course, Home Depot gets you with their low installation price. Dont be fooled. Thats not the install price in the end. Not even close. The quality of the laminate is good and I kept it to be installed by someone else. I have found a reputable company who will be doing my installation. STAY away from GS Floor Designs AT ALL COSTS!!
BUYER BEWARE! This contractor for Home Depot is dysfunctional and incompetent. Ask who is the installing contractor and if its GS Floor Designs, pick up the phone and call somebody else. RUN AWAY!Customer Service is extremely poor and they dont take any extra steps to help you. I asked the customer service person to make sure somebody would be here when they said they would be here - she said that would be impossible for her to do. She directed us to the install manager - no call back. Installers dont give you any information - no next steps, they dont tell you when they are coming back, they just get in their car and leave and say Just call our office. They poured concrete for us and didnt tell us it would take up to a week to dry and they schedule an install and its too wet, but didnt think to tell us to leave dehumidifiers or fans or open windows to allow for concrete to dry. They just left, scheduled an install without checking and then showed up on the install date and said - too bad, too wet. Needs a dehumidifier - you go pick it up from Home Depot yourselves. No install, youll have to move your other contractor dates now. Then (yep) CALL THE OFFICE and schedule an install for whenever we can do it - might be 1-2 weeks out - nobody knows! So, we have to move our other contract dates back to what - yes, JANUARY!!. My husband and I have called this office at least 20 + times to get anything done or any useful information.I had one installer tell me nobody was home when they were supposed to be there and that the person that was there waiting for him was lying to me! Im sorry, but you just called my house keeper/babysitter a liar! The office says theyll be there in a 2 hour time frame 7:30 - 9:30AM and they will call when they are 30 minutes away. The installers call and and say more like 1PM. We work full time and we cant always be accommodating their schedules that constantly change apparently. Then somebody showed up at 11AM randomly when they said 1PM and then said go pick up a dehumidifier from home depot yourselvesOur home office project has now been pushed back by two months because dependent cabinetry installers pushing install dates past the holidays. Thankfully, Home Depot has customer service - at corporate to help in situations like this, but we have spent hours and hours on this and we have full lives - jobs, kids, other contractors! There is one good customer service person - Ulka? I dont know. Good luck finding her amongst the rest. This place is the WORST!
Took a few weeks to get my flooring installed. They had to reschedule due to an emergency. So they moved my installation date a few weeks back but they informed me they would be able to move it back up more than likely because of cancellations, which did happen. All my materials were there except for the transitions. 1 of the guys (didn’t get his name) ordered them while they were installing the laminate and they were dropped off as they finished. Only took them about 3hrs. Very professional. Cleaned up when they were finished. AND after they had already left I accidentally stepped on the transition and cracked it and knocked out a nail. They CAME BACK and fixed it for me. No charge. Wouldn’t even accept the $20 I tried to give them for their time. Excellent work. These reviews had me nervous but they did a great job for me.
I am writing this review on behalf of Wisconsin tiles LLC, as the owner, I can sadly say that this company practices unfair business on daily basis with its customers and contractors.I have been in the business for 7 years now, professional in installing tile. Inherited it and learned it in school as well. When I first signed the contract with GS floor design, Robert and Martin were welcoming. Jobs were done on time with NO ISSUES from the customers behalf. Customer reviews the job after its done and SIGNS the waiver stating that the job is done perfectly with no mistakes. As time went by, Robert and his little assistant Martin stated I wasnt doing my job correctly.I conducted a meeting with Robert and Martin, and unfortunately their definition of wasnt doing my job correctly meant that I wasnt charging the customers additions, now you are reading this and your probably wondering or confused about whats going on, what I am trying to get to is that they ask their contractors to add additional work for the customer EVEN when not needed, and whats more shocking is that if I ask for 50 dollars they would take the 50 dollars multiply it by four and hit the customer with that extra charge of 200 dollars, customer are always puzzled and mad but they just want their floors done.As a result I came to Robert and told him this needs to stop, or I am leaving, he threatened to hold my money which was 9800 at the time. I didnt care and told him I am taking my business else where. When I asked for my money, Robert said I have not listened to him. So now I am 9800 dollars out on my money. And what is more sick is that they have created a list of unjustifiable charge back so they dont have to pay me anything.Again if you are contractor please re think twice about working with this company.Thank you for reading
Worst Experience with this company. I had to work with them as Home Depot uses this company for installation. First they send the wrong crew out and second time they arrive 2 hours after the 2 hour window. Their boss calls me an hour into the job and tells me that it cannot be completed now as the crew cannot work so late. Well that is not my problem if you cannot schedule the jobs properly. Please do not do business with this company. This company has very bad reviews on Google, Yelp and even has customer complaints in BBB. This company does not even deserve 1 star based on the experience I have had.
Besides the basic scheduling issues requiring me to contact their offices (despite the ol well call you to set up installation), they showed up on the intended date and time...without the carpet pad...because they forgot it??? Supposedly coming out tomorrow for installation...this time with the pad. Home Depot shares some of the blame for this.
Worst customer service. If there is an issue, they never call or follow up. Three months and the floors are still not installed. I get renovating is a lot of moving parts. However, that is why I went to Home Depot and not some guy off a craigslist post. At this point I will take a day labor over the service I got with them.
Installation started on Aug 1st, and as of today, Sep 13 the project has NOT YET been completed. Closet frames were broken and they have not been repaired although they said they would take care of it.I got the services through home depot...go somewhere else to spend your money.
Where do I start, with Robert, or Martin, or the installers who made a huge mess in the house, dust everywhere, thinset on the floor everywhere, what made this a horrible experience is that they didnt do the job right and I paid extra money. I didnt believe the other reviews about the hidden charges but its true, 950 dollars to screw down my already installed subfloor because its a little squeaky, thats a crime, god it was only a 5x5 bathroom guys, or what about the clean up crew that I have to pay for after you guys left because they were cutting inside the house.Robert shame on you and Marty shame on you for your unfair business practices. Stop holding money
Do not use this company! They are unprofessional, rude, and will try to rip you off! They were sent to install through Home depot. They barely spoke 3 words to me when they came to my house, spoke only to each other in Russian, Damaged my wall and then tried to charge me thousands of dollars extra! So glad I stopped their work and got a real professional to come install my floors!!
A great carpet company but terrible hard surface company that has no clue how to install flooring, just concerned with covering their ass, would never recommend, and they gouge you...beware, they couldnt install butter over bread, not equipped, not knowledgeable.....would recommend my neighbor first whos a cake decorator, in general...do your homework and avoid this mess
This company is a bureaucratic black hole of careless employees providing shoddy work and terrible customer service. I hired them to install my backsplash via Home Depot and they left the project incomplete, made a mess of my home, and took off with my purchased supplies. After more than a month of disappointment and frustration making multiple calls and emails trying to get the issue resolved, I filed a credit card dispute to get my money back from Home Depot. This company should not be in business.
I bought flooring from homedepot and GS Flooring is their installation contractor. This company is extremely slow in scheduling of installation of floors and customer service is horrible. It is about 3 weeks now after I paid for the laminate flooring to homedepot but the flooring is still not installed.Stay away from this company.
A picture that speaks a million words.Thank you GS floor designs
Nice installation done byDavid, Marco, Sergio
Beware: GS Floor Designs is not a reputable company
