Went to Wheeling for the first time. I enjoyed my old Lexus Loaner, though I was told that they have late model cars available as well. Oh well. Told I had a rack and pinion leak. Although I was against getting this repair, the new new rack has transformed my car. It now drives like a brand new car, much more responsive with better road feel and faster steering.The hand wash also made my car look great, and they cleaned the yellow film on my wheels and made them shiny again. I hate spending money on my old car, but I dont feel completely horrible afterward now. I will be a return customer.

Wheeling Auto Center (WAC) is the most reliable team of mechanics Ive ever worked with. Issues with my cars have always been resolved quickly, and at a great value.WAC isnt always the least expensive option, and theyre not always the most expensive option either. Over the years, Ive found their pricing to be about in the middle.David Becker, the owner, and his team are consummate professionals. Theyre honest and very accommodating. The fact that Im able to check out a loaner car while my cars are being serviced is a big bonus.It gives me peace of mind knowing that I never need to be concerned whenever my cars need to be serviced; WAC is always there for me. Knowing this is a huge relief.

The very best place to go.We have been going to Wheeling Auto for over 10 years and through 6 vehicles, and been delighted with every oil change, every tire issue, every transmission rebuilt, you name it. List of why is long - Dave and his team are completely focused on customer satisfaction and a great experience. They always call to explain what they found and what our options are. Waiting room is clean and spacious (good for COVID), but Ive never used it because I always got a loaner which fit my schedule better. Dave trains his own crews and believe me- he trains them well. I have never needed to go back on any issue that his team fixed, because it was done correctly the first time. He doesnt cheat on inexpensive parts or oil at the car owners expense. He runs diagnostics and identifies upcoming service so we rarely had any surprises and could plan for upcoming work. And all cars are run through the car wash when the work is complete. This is a place you can trust!

Called to see if my car can be seen day after our snow storm and was able to take it in. Bill was super friendly they suggested to remove the snow from the rims and to come back tomorrow if it continues. Was in-out 15 min tops & @ no charge. I’ve been going to Wheeling Auto Center for about 12 years for all my automotive work. They have been honest and thorough in all my dealings with them. My family has brought at least 12 different cars to them and we’ve been happy every time. It’s not cheap to get your car fixed so I like to go where I feel confident and where my money goes in the pockets of good people. Dave and his team are good people. They give back to the community in many ways. The only reason I gave them 5 stars because because there aren’t 10.

I am updating my review - and although what happened below really did happen, I was called by Brian and I will ONLY work with Brian in the future there. They are lucky to have him, and if he leaves, I will need to find another shop.I have been a client of Wheeling Auto Center for a decade and have taken newer and older cars to them for a while. Typically they have been very value focused, and provided quality work. I own a 20 year old car that my college student has been using for the past few year away at school. This vehicle needs a little work. My son, who works as a mover at school, asked his companys mechanic (a moving company that has a fleet of vehicles) to take a look at it, and although they were able to identify a couple of issues and they sold him the parts at cost, they were not able to help him with the repairs. I called WAC to see if they could do the work and what the cost would be for just the labor. I didnt even get entirely through the description of the situation when I was interrupted on the phone rudely and told let me tell you how this business works. We make money on the parts and the labor, and are not interested in helping you unless we make money on the parts also. Literally in this economic environment, helping a poor college student who cannot work and needs a working vehicle - and a 10+ year customer - is not valuable to this business. Went in shortly after it opened with a nail in my tire. They took care of it quickly and had me on my way.

Came here to drop a new engine in my jeep. They kept my car for literally months and couldnt find the engine that would fit my car. They then charged me for their free courtesy car - 2500$ - They are theives and shouldnt be trusted. I brought this place thousands of dollars of business and will never come back.

Very helpful and trustworthy. Let me know what needed to be done but didn’t push anything on me. Definitely will be back when the car needs anything done in the future

I was disappointed that the person on the other end would not give me a quote (or even a rough estimate). I knew I needed a new alternator and had a simple question, How much would it cost?I got a lecture about how good their parts are and how cost should not be my only consideration. I said, I understand and how much would it cost?Once he realized that I wasnt going to tell him the quote I got from a different place, he simply refused to give me their quote. Why? Whats he hiding? They have great reviews, but this was the kind of shady conversation that gives auto shops a really bad reputation.If you like/trust this place, keep going there. Id just recommend that you do some comparative pricing on major repairs. Plenty of auto shops will give you a rough estimate.Not sure if you respond to these reviews. Its still not too late to be open about it. How much for a new alternator on a 2007 Camry XLE?

Simply the best - do not hesitate to bring your vehicle here. Excellent customer service, they go above and beyond. They are also extremely honest. The first time I brought my car here a couple years ago, it was to get a second opinion on 4 things that the place I had brought it first said needed to be done. The person who helped me told me that 2 of the things did need to be done, but that the other 2 were completely unnecessary and were nothing more than an attempt by the other mechanic to jack up my bill. Their courtesy car service makes it convenient to drop off your car and take one of theirs until they are done with yours - no need to be without a car! I seriously cant recommend this place enough. All of the staff I have interacted with have always been excellent. Really cant say enough good things about this place!

This place serves the best donuts in town! Forget Krispey Kreme and Dunkin Donuts, once you try their original glazed donut with a fresh cup of Joe (not sure why they call it that) you will never go back to the big name chains.Dave, the owner, is on site everyday. Don’t let his deep voice and large stature intimidate you — he’s really just a teddy bear.I’m just kidding. Ive been a customer for several years and they are excellent. The biggest reason for the five star review is that I genuinely trust them. Dave and Brian shoot straight and will tell you exactly what you need to do, what you should do, and what you can hold off on. They also have a huge fleet of loaner cars available for you to use if your repair is going to take a while. Theyre not necessarily the cheapest shop but they do excellent work and the amenities and service you receive makes them an excellent value.

Wheeling Auto Center are awesome! I took my Acura RDX in for a noise with the suspension. They diagnosed the problem right away and replaced my shocks for a very good price. Not only that but they fixed a few other small problems with the car at no charge and on their own initiative. In addition, they provided a free courtesy car for me to drive while mine was in for repair. My other car (a BMW) had an electrical problem and the solution was found pretty quickly and at an affordable price. The waiting room is very clean, spacious and comfortable. I’m very impressed by the customer service and pleasant interaction. I will definitely be coming here for my future car repairs.

They are good and showed honesty so far. But after the service I found some scratches on the front bumper. That was dissappointing. Also, they dont offer loaners for under 21 :(

The mechanics under Daves supervision are superior. You can get a free loaner car for the time yours is in for repairs. To prove how good they are local dealers send cars to them to fix. All the mechsnics are ASE certified which is as good as it gets.

I was having a rough time and panicking a bit over my car. The staff took good care of me despite the fact that I was being difficult. They were patient, courteous, and helpful. A big shout out to Tim and the owner, Dave for spending the time on me! This is a laid back, no pressure shop with loaner cars and extended hours so you dont have to miss work to get your car serviced. It doesnt get any better!

Spur of the moment problem, my wife came home with her tire low pressure indicator on. I took it over to them and 5 minutes later all the tires were back up to snuff. No charge. I wouldnt take my cars anywhere else.

Dave was so great. They are very prompt with responding to inquiries online, and he got my car right in. He took a look at my oil leak and said it was just a loose plug, topped of the oil, and wouldnt accept payment.Wonderful people and place! Thank you for helping me out.

Visit(jan 28-jan -31-2020)first lets talk about the positive points..the mech and tech fully examined the car and figure out what was the problem with my car(honda accord hybrid 2017)...called and let me know what was the issue..they fixed in within 48 hrs..and also gave me the shuttle service..on the negative side i feel they are bit over priced..as i was charged only labor around $1200..parts were not expensive..so if you looking to spend money you can definitely go here..otherwise you can spend half the money and get problems fixed..my car was unable to go back to my house so had no other solution rather then fixing it..but eventually my car works good and no issues..

Best repair shop ever! Wheeling Auto Center takes such good care of my vehicle that it is still reliable with over 266 thousand miles on it! Every repair or maintenance they did was done correctly, unlike my experience with other repair shops in the past. The service managers are good listeners and really care about your needs and wants. Plus they have given me a loaner car for free when I have requested one! They always let me know an estimate before any repairs and get my okay to do the work. Their prices are very reasonable, which is why I also got new tires from them recently. I scheduled an early appointment and they put the new tires on in time for me to get to my job.

Wheeling Auto Center is by far one of the most reputable, friendly, and honest auto mechanic shop out in the northwest suburbs. Brought in my 1994 Park Avenue for a thorough yearly inspection, and they told me everything that could be fixed, but categorized everything into either needs asap or can wait. When I called 6 mos later to ask for information that we had discussed previously, they sent a letter without a request from me, which had listed my entire car history, and about what we had discussed. They go above and beyond everytime.

I have been going here for years....they have excellent pricing, service and knowledge...I am VERY lucky to find them....thanks guys for all you do!

We bought a used car from a local dealership. After having the car for a couple of months, I brought the car in to get checked out. They found several major things wrong with it. They said it was a death trap. Brian and Dave let my wife hold on to the loaner car for a few days, til I could get in touch with the dealership and try to get them to fix things.I have had them work on my cars a few times and every time they are very helpful and friendly! My wife and I have been taking our cars to Wheeling Auto center for the past 8 years and they are simply the best. I have referred them to many friends and business acquaintances over the years and all have commented to me how good the service is at WAC. Recently we had an issue with my wifes 2003 Maxima that was extremely difficult to solve. It had to do with intermittent communication between the transmission computer and the main computer for the car. The whole WAC team stayed with the problem until they finally got to the root cause which they repaired without additional cost to us! Truly OUTSTANDING! Keep it up Dave, Bill, Lisa and the rest of the gang at WAC.

The most reputable and financially responsible shop in the Chicagoland area. All services are done exceptionally fast and will save you money because they are done correctly. A free in depth inspection is standard for any service as well as a quality car wash. They will recommend only services that are necessary, rather than upsell for commission unlike most other shops and dealerships. The owner Dave, the office, and all of the ASE certified mechanics treat you with the upmost respect and can accommodate all of your maintenance needs for a vast range of makes and models. I highly recommend this shop and will be taking all of my vehicles here for years to come.

The people here are robbers in mechanics clothes. They charged me $500 for wheel alignment. Later I found out, please like Sears charge only about $100 to $150.When I came here to post a review, I read through most of these positive 5 start reviews. It seems like these people pay some company to flood websites with positive reviews.They are all overtly positive and all rated 5 stars. Another unethical practice by these goons.So if getting robbed blind is not your thing, definitely skip this place. Bunch of crooks.

Excellent auto service from great locally-owned business. Weve been coming here for two years, and now bring our cars here for all service and repairs.Bill, Dave and their team provide great quality repair and service (better than Ive experienced from any dealer or service chain, e.g., Midas), pricing is significantly below that of dealer repair shops, and service extras are a nice plus - I think you get a free wash with all service, waiting room has free coffee and wifi, and you can often get a free loaner car to drive while yours is being repaired/serviced.As an example of the great service, we had our Sonata in for 30k service and Dave noticed an oil leak. Since the repair was under warranty (from dealer only) his team took the car 25 min. to the dealer, had it repaired, and brought it back - all at no charge to us (free repair under warranty). Plus, since the dealer didnt fix the leak properly it needed more work later. Daves team took the car to the dealer for us, had them do the repair right, and brought the car back - all at $0 cost to us. Now thats great service!

When I went there to get my squeaking break checked, they gave me a whole lot of recommendations worth much more than I expected. When I asked to repair breaks alone they kept insisting for other services too. Moreover their services are too expensive. I would recommend them only if you have no other choice.

Dave was a very honest man about how much my repair was going to cost. He did the service in a very fast and effective time period and the loaner car service was very handy.

For a repair shop they were better than average with customer service. They were upfront about repairs and costs with my high mileage BMW and gave me straight info to make a decision about repairs. They are not the cheapest around although competitive and do ok work.Heres what I didnt like:- they refuse to use customer supplied OEM/OE BMW parts even though customer parts may be superior to their parts.- I noticed they did the least amount of work possible even though my car had other leaks in the same area that needed repair. I discovered this later when I investigated and fixed the leaks myself. Even though it saved me money, I had to do my own diagnosis and it didnt inspire confidence in giving me a good picture of my vehicles condition.

Love this place, they never disappoint. Fair prices and always great services!
