Well Melanie and I went by when in Appleton WI today 2-21-20. We go every time we go and see what we can find. We found some goodies today . I figured I would take pictures and do a review didnt get a picture of the outside but lots of the inside. When you are in Appleton stop by and check them out. π
Friendly staff. Not the widest selection of items. Strangely organized. One of my favorite thrifts but they are jumping on the insanely high increased pricing like the fox valley thrift shop for unspectacular items. I do still find the hidden gem junk I want to find. Furniture has always been way over priced.
I love this St. Vinnyβs! The staff is very friendly and I always find hidden gems at great prices. I like that they have a bagging station where you can bag and wrap fragile items yourself. Highly recommend stopping here if you enjoy thrifting.
Love thrifting and stopped by here today. I didnt even go in. There was people sleeping in different parts of the parking lot on the concrete. Abandoned cars parked in the lot and trash all around. If the outside looks like this, I didnt want to go in.
They have a VINTAGE section!!! Iβm so in love I found this beautiful blazer and a matching skirt that were only 40 cents together. My mom found some really nice suitcases and water bottles for sooo cheap. They let us roll a dice for a discount even though the stuff was already so cheap! So happy :D
My favorite thrift store!
Its a good place to find and buy treasures and to support those in need in our community!
Great thrift shop. They always have sales, and Im always surprised how cheap the stuff turns out to be. I bought a brand new Columbia jacket tagged at $10.99 plus three other shirts and two knick knacks. Ultimately, with the tag sales (which werent all advertised; the signs only listed one color on sale, but another was too), it came out to $9.70. The quality of stuff overall is hit or miss (because its a thrift shop) but if youre patient you can find great things. Good amount of stuff. Definitely worth a visit. I always make sure to stop by when Im in Appleton
High prices but great deals on the vintage clothing and formal dresses. i found a Sherri Hill dress new with tags for $14. i didnβt buy it though. nice selection of stuff. nice and clean and VERY nice workers!
I needed stuff so that I could survive. I went to the salvation army. They sent a waver over to saint Vincent de paul, the next day they called me at a good time and told me I was accepted I was given a card when I arrived there. Which allowed me one $30 bike and $50 of clothes I got great stuff there I couldnt find other places and was very appreciated for being there and I loved the customer service it was very nice friendly and caring and I got a travel backpack in good condition for only $5 awesome people awesome deals thanks saint vincent de paul.
The store is always clean. Friendly people work there. They have a nice selection of gently used furniture, clothing, bicycles, and other house hold items. They are reasonable priced.
I used to love this store, but over the past few months the prices have been crazy high. Some items are cheaper to buy on Amazon than at st vinnys. A used item at a thrift store should never be close to the cost on Amazon. I used to come here every week. Maybe Ill pop in next spring to see if prices are back to normal. This used to be my favorite thrift store. Id drive down from Green Bay...
Apart from, perhaps, Bethesda, this is the nicest-looking thrift store in town, and if nothing else, it is a better charity than Goodwill. This is the only place in town where Ive seen a couch priced under $10... those particular couches were ugly AF, but if youre just moving out on your own you can find yourself a decent couch here for, easily, under $100. St. Vinnies helped my mothers generation remain comfortably clothed throughout her childhood (mom was #6 out of 8 kids, so her parents could afford them easily), and today you can still find yourself some decent clothes, books, dishes, and toys for the younguns.
I love this store. I always go here hunting for toys
I love this place. My son and I do a ton of art projects and I always find fun stuff to use at this store.
One of the best Thrift Stores around. Great selection and prices, they usually have a great special going on too. I would recommend going there if you are looking for just about anything.
They have a great vintage clothing section!
If there is no price tag on the item you find, you might as well smash it or find another price tag to put on it because they will not sell it to you. They should have someone there to be able to price things on the fly, even goodwill does this if items are missing their price tag. Very frustrating when you dont live near and find something you have been looking for, for a very long time. Probably wont go back, plenty of other thrift stores around that area and dont want to be let down again.
Nice customer service, I like the idea that its profits are going to a religious organization.
Work in toys and love everyone there. Thanks guys for the friendliness. Will miss you all.
I love this store for several reasons, one it is a relaxing place to shop, I relieve stress here. Two I find unusual items here, three I can try out the furniture and no one cares how long I sit in a chair and four they have a lot of womens used clothes, and five and very important the money I spend here helps people with mental health problems.
Good deals. Great organization.
Love it here. They are awesome. I come all the time. Just to pass time.
Good prices & sales. Nice staff. Very large variety of stuff.
If you dont mind spending time looking you can find some really great items. New items added regularly too!
Overpriced stuff, most of it is garbage or un-usable (hard goods). Clothing is probably fine, though its overpriced as well. Doesnt really make sense that their prices are that high, because their employees are mostly volunteers who dont get paid, so they have low operating overhead cost, yet their prices are far higher than even ebay for most things that are worth buying.
Great place to shop for very low priced things WAY better than GoodWill
One of my favorite thrift stores. Love old furniture back when it was built to last.
They destroy the donation and mark up the prices 200 percent on sales days. Rude cashiers, expensive
Great store with friendly and professional employees. Definitely worth the trip!
I have not been back after 7 years or so after bad experience. I donate to help raise money. But, the ladies were vultures as I was bringing in stuff taking to there vehicles. I witnessed it told myself never to donate there again. Sell Goodwill getting to pricey for donated items. So with that said I donated back to Kaukauna again. Well ladies dont get off your butts to get the door or help me. Bigger lafy reading a book told me to put stuff over there. Oh honey dont put your book down and help. So, with itrms still in my vehicle I will go elsewhere
Good place to drop off donations. Be warned that they do not accept used mattresses or certain bedding.
Always close at 5! When hours sat 6! Update hours if you close earlier
Horrible store. The merchandise is all presented horribly, as if they are trying as hard as possible to show off their getting free stuff and overcharging, stuff Ive looked at 2-3 years ago is still sitting on the Shelfs at the same price unsold, employees are firm on the price of everything and have a strict non negotiating policy, even when I offered to buy all the ridiculously overpriced Broken for repair, dirty, playstation 1 consoles with no cords for $5 each in the front, for slightly less if I bought them all, they looked at me like I was insulting them, I looked through thr entire store and found one item I wanted to buy, it had no price, they cannot sell any item that is not priced it has to go to the back again so they can look up a price, it usually comes back out after a week so in other words. No price, they cannot sell you the item, no matter what you offer, its their policy to not sell it, the store is a complete waste of time as I am a shopper of these stores and spend 10s of thousands at thrift stores annually, this store is the exception, why buy anything if its all broken or overpriced or not even for sale.In addition to this. Every Electronic item I bought at this store in Appleton, whether it was a Keyboard, Record Player, Amplifier, priced at $10, $35, $60, $100, nothing worked, they sell all their electronics as-is if you find a cassette player that retails for $80 online, they will have it priced at $80, if its priced at $40, even $50, test it out, 100% of the time they price an electronic item for less than ebay price, its because it doesnt even work. This is a bad place and I dont recommend this store to anyone, their clothing section is large, but same thing, anything worthy of buying is overpriced or has defects, its enough they get everything for free, they could sell their merchandise for much cheaper and have a more successful business, thats the trade off of an online business(like ebay) vs having a store front (like this Vinnies store), you get the opportunity to sell millions of 25 cent to three dollar items and the store generates over a million dollars in sales, while If you price all the junk electronics at ebay price, no sensible person will be willing to buy it, Id have spent thousands in this store if they would actually price stuff to sell and not to price accordingly because it just doesnt work for the buyers, at least not the buyers that like going back to these stores and buying stuff every time, theres nothing worse than finding something you actually want to buy in a store like this and the price is too high beyond reason, and the employees arent allowed to negotiate a fair price. Im not saying like a $200 turntable should be $20, Im just saying a $200 turntable they got for free shouldnt be priced at $150 with no returns and sold as-is, theres no sense in charging that or paying that. 6 blocks away, Pawn America buys stereo components all day long, for cash, and they sell them for 1/3 to 1/2 of retail price and they are willing to negotiate on large purchases, they offer returns, like they should, all while paying employees and maintaining a successful business. If you find an item In pawn America that isnt priced. Theyll have a price for you within five minutes and its usually cheaper than youd expect because they price items to sell because they are in the business of selling items at a fair price, unlike the Appleton Vinnies store that gets everything given to them and overcharges on most items, and is overall a very poor business, they need to get with the times and price items to sell, get people to keep coming back, after what Ive seen the past few years the Vinnies store has gotten worse and I wont be stopping back anytime soon.
Great place to thrift shop for almost any household item.
Step here before you go anywere else. Awesome store with friendly staff!
Smells a little but good choices available.
Easy to find what you need staff handy if you need help
Nice stuff in there. A few gems.
Love the deals and the mystery of finding a treasure.
Great deals...cheap clothes...Great help for the community
I have tried dropping donations here, multiple times, during their open drop off hours, and they were closed. Most recently it was quarter to closing time and a man (an employee I assume) just yelled CLOSED! at me from across the parking lot. Id rather drop the items in the dumpster at this point.
Best place to shop for clothes and furniture.
Love shopping here for vintage treasures!
They have just about anything youd need. Everything is donated so very few things are new.
Not a bad store for used items
Large selection could be alot cleaner
Very high prices on anything collectible
My favorite SV.
We stop here quite often, never seem to find anything though.
Pretty decent size.
Little pricy for donated stuff...
Lots of good stuff
