My wife and I visited from Marquette, MI today. After having served in the US military for 12 years, I’ve seen my fair share of hobby shops. Chimera was huge compared to most. The store was very clean, with a more mature appearance than most other stores of this variety. The staff was polite and knowledgeable. We plan to make this a must visit whenever we’re down from the UP.

Nice little hidden gem of a comic book and toy store not to mention a lot of other stuff!

I would of give it a zero star but here is my story. I got one pack of the X&Y evolution and one shiny fate booster pack. I should of ask If I can looked at the booster pack before the cashier check out. Didnt think much about it. Got home and when I looked at the top booster pack theres some white stuff like it been re-sealed on top of the pack. Opened it and we got nothing good. This store cant be trusted at all. Just move on and find another place. The people work there are not friendly they dont say hi at all or welcome us to their store. I come there 2 times and after this happened. Never again going there.

Wonderful visit... My son has been playing Yu-Gi-Oh for a fair amount of time and has started with Magic The gathering... Not even sure Im saying that 2nd one right. That said staff here was incredibly helpful in suggesting what I wanted to purchase for the same son. Was happy to get the positive response I did from the same son with the gift I brought/purchased from here with staff help. Thank you Chimera Hobby as I know we wont be back this weekend, but he will eventually ask me Wheres that store? 🙂

Pretty decent place. They have a large selection of magic and pokemon cards.plus alot of other collectibles. Prices are decent some stuff seems a little high but overall not to bad.

Very cool shop! They had a bump and dent section full of board games! we ended up getting Scooby-Doo clue and had a blast playing board games all night!

The oldest and best tabletop game store in Appleton. Excellent selection of Warhammer, collectible card games, role playing games, fantasy miniatures, board games, comics, and so much more. Friendly staff who remember you if you are a regular customer. The interior was recently remodeled with better organization and lighting. Their gaming area has been closed since Covid, but normally is a great place to play wargames and CCGs.

Always able to find what we want. Staff is friendly and very helpful when I had questions.

Neat place and a lot bigger on the inside than it looks when driving past. They were lacking sadly almost every volume 1 and many 2-5 for manga series.

Normally great, but theyre selling new packs of Pokemon cards for double anywhere else, basically $1 per card, insane.

Love this place to find unique games. It had been awhile since we had gone in (like 5 years) and they still had our loyalty card on file. I also love all the kids toys, a lot of Melissa and dog. I prefer to shop local when I can and I now know where I will be going for some of my daughters birthday gifts.

Ive been going to Chimera for several years and its easily the best hobby shop in all of the fox valley. You can pretty much get anything you want here in the realm of board games, comics and graphic novels, magic cards, and tabletop products. All of the members of staff are friendly and easy going and if you need anything in particular theyre very helpful, even if its something they have to order. Its the only place where I buy my Warhammer models and paints, check them out!

The manager Beth is super nice, always gets my special orders in and calls when they arrive. Recent redid all the Warhammer shelving and it looks great.

This shop has an excellent selection of games and gaming supplies. Staff was great; I asked about a game and she was more then willing to look it up and get me more info. Had to have my boyfriend pull me out before we over spent. They also have a loyalty program which is a bonus. I live a couple hours away but was worth the drive. Definitely will be back.

Maybe I had a bad experience, but the staff were unwilling to answer questions and would cut me off before letting me finish a sentence. I didnt know what I wanted - being basically brand new to card games - so I figured Id ask an expert for advise about this or that. Nope, Just check the website! the large man behind the counter would sputter. I went elsewhere, and found the staff to be much more accommodating. Decent selection, but probably wont return any time soon.

This game store is packed with products; puzzles, kids games, complicated games, rpgs, ccgs, comic books, collectible stuff... really something for everyone. They also have loads of product that smaller stores run out of and never get back in, so if you are looking for special editions of games/books/cards check them out.The staff is knowledgeable and happily willing to share what they know to ensure you walk out with something you are going to enjoy. Last but not least as its a game store its an important category... the place doesnt stink like BO, fast food, and trash.

The staff is well versed in every aspect of the gaming market. They are also friendly AND professional. Perhaps professionalism is the most important, as you are not stuck in long checkout lines (or otherwise) waiting for service because of overly talkative staff.

Im not much of a tabletop game player, but if I was, this would be my go to place. I mainly come here to play D&D with a group of guys, and we play in some of the back rooms. Plenty of privacy there, but theres also the open tables they use for tournaments and community events. A really friendly environment, and plenty of tabletop games to choose from, I dont even know where to start with all of it. 100% reccomend if youre ure looking for this type of place.

Having gone to many game stores over the years Chimera does offer a wide selection. Miniature games such as Games Workshop, Robotech, DnD figures etc. Very large selection of books, comics and board games. I believe they specialize in ccg. However the store customer service not up to par. I asked if they had a specific miniature and the employees would not even look it up for me even though they were not busy. I would highly recommend going to Gnome Games. Well worth the drive.

Decent store that used to be the only gaming store around, but now that Gnome Games is in town theyve had to step up their game. They have all new revamped hours and events simply because Gnome already has all of those events. I guess I like that theyve added new things, but it is a real shame that it took them this long to fix some of their issues like their hours, events being held and customer treatment. Before Gnome came they werent always the friendliest, mostly catering to regulars and thats it. Store is still cluttered and seems somewhat dirty every time I go in there, not like the clean and spacious feeling I get at Gnome Games. They have good deals on current Magic The Gathering product, as you can buy three standard legal boosters for $10 instead of the normal $12 or $13 other places, but thats not enough to get me to go there regularly.
