Working on fixing up own house and was in real need of some lvls to add support underneath second story. Lowes & Home Depot were at least 30 to 60 days out to get product. Nice guy at Lowes suggested Builders FirstChoice. Called and they were not sure of inventory. Stopped by and gentlemen at front desk looked for what I needed on computer. Was not in computer system but said I could go back to lumber yard and look. Men working back in the yard were very friendly and helpful. Tracked down needed lvls, Builders FirstChoice came through big time for me. Thank you for your help.

This is a great find for anyone looking for an alternate to the big box. While the range of products is limited to building and construction, the selection and service for the major home construction materials, tools and supplies.

This company is great! They had exactly what I needed in stock and it was very easy to pick up. The employees were kind, friendly, helpful and loaded all of my material for me, all I did was maneuver my car to be in a good spot. Thank you for a great experience, I will definitely be back!

Zero for service. They dont answer the phone - it goes to voicemail - and they dont return calls. If you call the main number they tell you this is the corporate offices and offer to connect you to the store, which just gets you back to the same voicemail. Maybe they are good for large contractors with accounts, but despite the big sign in the window that says public welcome they really are not. Dont waste your time with them.

It has the stuff you need but watch out if you order a door... the door has to be made under specs. Mine was made 1/2 inch taller than it should and when it arrived, of course, only found out the problem when the dang thing wouldnt fit the rough opening. This was a replacement door and I had other things going on at the time of the installation and with an overseas trip scheduled to go in two days. Result: I had to work until late night to get the door almost jam in the rough opening in order to get something in place and I could travel.Then a couple of the hinges were installed skewed so when the door opens, there was considerable torque on the frame so I had to remove these hinges and reinstall them. And one of the hinges, had an extra not cut piece of metal interfering with the installation. Terrible door that later I had to remove and reset it in place ugh.The siding order of hardy planks was finely delivered... for free, which I cant complain, thanks.Will buy stuff again here again, but not doors for sure.

Ive been here 3 times (stupid me) and have waited in line 1/2 hr + each time with only 1 person in front of me. This place is just run wrong. Trying to order anything takes forever and their inventory is limited. Even going into their yard is a bad experience. No one will help and their yard is full of ruts and pot holes. Im a contractor but maybe this place is just geared for big commercial builders. Ive been to lumber yards all over the country and want to support the non box stores but do yourself a favor and go to Lowes.

Long review but bare with me....Went in to buy LJ Smith stair parts which they have advertised on their website and in store. Im told they have a new supplier but the parts should be similar. That should have been my red flag but I ordered them anyway because the big box stores didnt have what I needed. Placed the order on a Thursday and was told they would be in Monday (I had to prepay for the order). Monday came no phone call. Tuesday morning I called and was told one computer system showed they were here but another computer system said they werent. No idea what that means. The rude lady on the phone said she would print the invoice and have the salesman call me back. That call never came. Went to the store Wednesday and told the person at the desk I was given an order number but had left it at home. The rude lady from the phone said Alot of good that does and was then told the parts were in the Raleigh store and were never shipped to this one like they said they would be. So now Im waiting a week for parts that should have been shipped next day. TERRIBLE customer service. If I wouldnt have to wait so much longer Id cancel my order and buy somewhere else. Never spending another dime at this place.

Xerox customer service stood there for 35 min in the rain and watch several employees doing nothing but talking they passed and walked in front of me multiple times never asked if I was being helped or if I needed help nothing not even a hello if I didnt work for a company that spends a lot of money here then I would never come back the service desk doesnt seem to care the place is unorganized and full off lazy employees
