Building a home is typically a stressful experience, and we built our new home in Pittsboro, NC with Cotton Construction while living in Georgia! You would think that would be a recipe for disaster, but the process went smoothly thanks to Bill and his capable staff. What impressed us the most was the excellent communication, being able to follow the progress using their Builder Trend site, and their willingness to make sure that all our desires for our house were fulfilled—and they were! We met Bill and Mike with Cotton Custom Homes after meeting with another highly recommended custom builder in the area. We bought a house that was built by Cotton Custom Homes and within a month had some issues that ended in water damage (unrelated to their construction). They were extremely accommodating to help us find a crew to return it to its original state. The house is well built and has so many details, you can tell they really care about their work. Every member of the team was clearly at the top of their game, they know exactly how to manage each step of the process and they helped guide us to ensure we fully understood each stage and key milestone.Throughout the build we were in very safe hands as we were consulted at every step, decisions explained and the constant level of communication a welcome and calming influence. We were never rushed into making quick decisions & it always felt consultative and everyone on the same page, all aiming for the same goal.Do not underestimate the importance of project management. In Mike, we were completely confident we were in safe hands as he guided us through the process, always ensuring we knew what the next phase was, what we had to do and when we had to do it by, all while keeping the budget in check. In terms of the build itself, Tim was absolutely first class. It was obvious that he took the build process personally, he always made himself available for questions (even the stupid ones!) and his attention to detail was absolutely second to none. A special mention also to Jason who is a master craftsman and epitomizes the Cotton Custom Home high standards.Bill, Tim & Jason clearly take pride in their work and they each consistently went above and beyond to ensure our home was finished beyond perfection. I loved the fact that they werent all cookie cutter and having custom builders gave it that individual uniqueness. We were hesitant to build again after a negative building experience with our first home and knowing we would have to do this from long distance while our son finished out school added to our concern. My husband and I had never built a house before, but through good fortune, contacted Bill Cotton to build a custom multi-generational home to meet our dynamic long term needs. Because we had heard so many horror stories about the home building process, we were extremely cautious and skeptical. However, Bill, Tim and Anita have earned our trust and respect. The thing that comes to mind is Integrity and painstaking devotion to quality workmanship. From the time I first met Bill while the house was still in mid production I knew that Bills committment to his customers was top rate. There are so many things that has helped make his vision our home from the orientation of the house to the detailed trim. Little things that help keep the house cool in summer and warm in winter like orientation so sun doesnt come in, blown insulation, creative heating/cooling systems, placement of cutoff valves to the aesthetics from high vaulted ceilings, magnificent trim work, and a flowing design that is both efficient and eye pleasing.Even when items popped up during the breaking period of the house settling, Bill was responsive and the items were corrected. I have enjoyed working with Bill and look forward to many happy years in our home.

Cotton Custom Homes remodeled our kitchen in March, 2016. We knew Bill personally, and received positive referrals from his customers. We had never renovated any part of our home before, and were anxious about the process, but Bill put our minds at ease, and he delivered. From the beginning, there was good communication from him and the project manager, Tim. The work was done on schedule. Best of all, it came out beautifully. Bill has excellent subcontractors, who arrived on time, did what they had promised, and cleaned up before they left. This was a full kitchen remodel: Bills team replaced the cabinets and countertops, painted, and added a tile backsplash that set the room apart.
