I have been buying flowers here for years. The flowers always do wonderful and they have competitive prices. But, this year topped it all. Just for fun I bought a pumpkin plant from them. It was $1.99 and a tiny starter plant in a solo cup. The pumpkin vine grew the length of half of my property and we got an amazing crop. See for yourself! I absolutely love this nursery. I have bought several trees as well as bushes and decorative items. The plants are always healthy and do extremely well. The pricing is great as well they are less expensive than many in the area.I have found all the staff to be helpful and pleasant and always kind to my mom when I bring her along.I am sure that most people find that when you are pleasant to people they are in return. I highly recommend them !

I love going to this nursery greenhouse and they have excellent stock! The well-informed owners will not bug you when you are looking around...however, if you ask a question, they will give you all the details you would want to know on the plant and make good recommendations on care.. I also bought a very nice, unique Christmas tree from them this past year. I also like their garden gift items. They can be a little pricey for my budget, but I would rather give it to a local, hardworking business owner with excellent plants! : )

My Mother and I had our first visit to S & S yesterday and we were really impressed. Nice, knowledgeable staff and wonderful selection. This is now my go to place for all of my flowers--Thats how much I enjoyed my shopping experience! Friends of mine love to shop here, so they told me to try it--Im glad I did:)

I feel bad for this company. They have probably lost a lot of business based on the woman who answers the phone. I simply asked for someone to come give us a quote... the woman who answered the phone said they will not do any “bidding”, they are a small company, and they cannot come out and give a quote and not be hired. She said “that’s not fair”. I simply restated that I want to HIRE them. I just need someone to come meet with us. I said I am not interested in “bidding”... she still wouldn’t budge. They just lost a very large profit. We have a great job for whoever wants work.

Excellent customer service and fast delivery of mulch or dirt to my home in spring grove.

I been going there for years and owner and other staff have always been rude so I just expected it. I went this week to buy a large amount of flowers, plants and they were not helpful and I said if no one wants to help me I would take my business elsewhere and they said fine.Ended up going to Breezy Hill in Salem and wow night and day with staff so cheerful and happy to help. That is way people should be treated and spent 800.00 at breezy hill and will never use S&S again no reason to feel like a bother to someone and treated so rudely. Most people I know say the same about the owner how rude she is and will not use them I refuse to pay for a product and treated so rude.I truly believe the people that do say nice things about this place are friends or family. If you dont enjoywhat your doing dont do it and share your nasty attitude with patrons.

The staff is very knowledgeable & helpful when asked intelligent questions. Whether it’s regarding plant health, figuring out how much material in is required for a project, or a simple customer walk-in bed design. They are a very versatile group of ladies.

We like this place and liked watching them grow the business over the years. Right now more bushes than anything but everything is in very good condition. Prices tend to be on high side but again healthy stock. They are at 30% while some are already at 50% off perennials and bushes.

I was on a mission to pick up several hanging baskets for someone in need. When I asked the prices and was told that small baskets were $39.95 in August when everyone else has their plants on sale, I was shocked and responded, Still? The clerk snapped at me to calm down, rolled her eyes and said they were 40% off. I was stunned. Long story short... our exchange deteriorated quickly and the clerk told me to leave if I didnt like the prices or the service, and she wasnt in the mood to deal with me. Apparently, her mother is the owner and when the clerk went to get her mother upon my request, I was basically told the same thing. In short, dont expect any kind of service or courtesy if you choose to shop here. I just dont understand owning a business and treating people so insignificantly and rudely. Without service, businesses will not thrive and neither will other human-beings. My mission of benevolence was not achieved either. BTW I told the owner I would be leaving a poor review and she endorsed me doing so by saying, Go ahead. Very sad, in my opinion.

Horrible service, the owner was screaming at me because I didnt agree with her personal beliefs,no way to treat a customer. Go to Lesters material in Grayslake instead,better choice of products and much more friendly staff

Very bad service, the staff here was disrespectful. First time coming here and will be the last. A worker accused us of changing tags and threatened to kick my whole family off of the place for no reason. She was being sarcastic and rude.
