Bree and Apple is the most delicious sandwich I have had. I love Granny Smith apples and with the melted cheese it is so delicious. Sammy is such a wonderful host. You can go wrong with any of the sandwiches she has her recommendations too. Ask her.

Met the sweetest couple who were happy to answer questions and share family history. Got lots of hot sauce and pickles per their recommendation.

Very sad at how we were treated by the owner yesterday. We had been coming here by boat for years and bringing guests as well. This time We were shopping and realized that there were no more prices on the products, it was very confusing, the owner walked out from behind the counter as asked if she could be of assistance and I said how do we know what the costs are? and she said just ask me and I will tell you So my response was how convenient and she said that she felt insulted and I said how? and she walked away, well it was apparent that I discovered her little scam as that attitude was not necessary, she must size up the clients and see what she thinks she can get away with. Very sad as she has no respect for her customers. we will never go back.

The Sandwiches are good. However, the pricing is dishonest. They add $2 on to every Sandwich without posting it or notifying you. When I inquired about it she said it was the French baguette upcharge. Which I did not request nor was I notified of.

Mamá Judy and Papa Bob were just amazing and made our Houston, TX group feel right at home. She suggested The Wick with the Italian Peach Tea and chips. Also enjoyed the desserts. I will bring my kids on a return trip to meet this beautiful couple. Their love story was my favorite. Thank you both for being a great example of true love in a 50+ yr marriage. Rude snooty service by the old lady.She had an attitude that made my group walk outOver priced.The prices on the board arent true, they will add an extra two dollars per sub anyway. Wont even tell you they are doing so, just hoping you wont notice.When you do notice, they say its for the bread.and its the only bread they have so its a guaranteed added two dollars to any sub.

When we walked in the lovely lady made some suggestions she described the Taylor Made (Swiss cheese melted over honey turkey, bacon, granny smith apples, covered with pineapple coconut mango tequila sauce, on a challah roll) she almost lost me at apples and a pineapple sauce on a sandwich...she assured me Id love it.....boy oh boy was she right. Down right the best sandwich Ive ever had period, if youre in Annapolis drop in, grab THIS sandwich and eat it out by the Pier (no seating in the deli) you will not leave hungry or disappointed.....

Pricey but decent

This is one of the coolest little cheese shops Ive ever been in. In addition to their very wide variety of cheeses they sell a large selection of sandwiches from their counter. Its a small place by some measures but they have a lot of stock. Friendly folks who will help you find anything you are looking for. Worth checking out for lunch of for party supplies.

Fantastic sandwiches. Always love coming here to treat myself to a sopresetta and provolone on a baguette. Bread is fresh, the meat and cheese is always great. Overall quality ingredients.The owners are always a pleasure to talk to as well! Being from the NY area I found it difficult to find a good quality sandwich in Maryland. So so glad I found this place a few years ago when I moved here.

The best sandwich shop in Annapolis! The Big Cheese is a neighborhood classic with an incredibly diverse menu. I’ve been ordering the Annapolitan (turkey, brie, apple) sandwich for years, and it’s always consistently delicious. Staff is always friendly, and it should definitely be your go-to lunch option.

I’ll say it is a good place to get whatever sandwich you want. They serve various kinds. Annapolitan the sandwich is really good (since I love Brie) and the price is reasonable. I even separated mine into almost three meals...

Eclectic & dynamic sandwich options, along with an array of pkg goods such as sauces, chips & I believe I saw a wine rack (dont hold me to that. I was on the clock and only quickly perused the hot sauces)

Always a treat and well worth the price. Long-standing family business where you feel like youre at home.

Fabulous sandwich shop just a short walk from Annapolis Harbor. Extensive sandwich menu or ask them to make your favorite. Fresh bread selections, cold cuts and cheeses. Numerous varieties of hot sauces available. My favorite stop for a bite to eat on the flight home.

This is the type of place you discover and then keep to yourself to look like you know what youre doing with a sandwich. Their bread and cheeses are outstanding. You really cant find a fresher sandwich in Annapolis.

A hint of Nantucket in Annapolis. Lived in Annapolis for 25 years; They are the best sandwiches in town. It might seem a tad pricy, but they are huge (could be split). Only caveat is that there is no seating. The notion is to take your sandwich and eat across the street on the city dock benches.

Two words come to mind when describing my experience today at the BIG CHEESE. Rude. Inedible. I first heard of the Big Cheese in December from my Midshipman. I heard from another friend it was a must try... So after 6 months of anticipation I finally found myself downtown and able to stop in. Initially I was very impressed. The women, who was clearly in charge, helped find a safe place for my sons to sit while I looked at the menu. I was very thankful for her help! When I try a new place- I enjoy reading the description of each item. So I set out to read the menu... after a few seconds the women in charge asked me what I would like to order. I thought- how helpful! I described to her what my friend had suggested. (She did not listen.) She quickly pointed me to a popular sandwich and guaranteed I would enjoy it. I did not. I actually didnt even finish it. What I did eat of it was choked down. But- My story does not end there. When she called me forward to pay I began to order fountain drinks. She interrupted me and said, We are in a hurry- you need to order faster! I was shocked! I was midsentence in making my order. If I had not been with friends I would have immediately left. But- being polite to those I was with I ordered my drinks. Paid. Chocked down my way over priced DISGUSTING INEDIBLE SANDWICH. Not to mention this disgusting sandwich was NOT what I had been anticipating for 6 months. I will not be returning to try the actual sandwich I went into the shop to try. I will not be recommending this location to anyone.

Bomb food. They also sell sliced meat by weight ask for cold cuts. Theyve been in business for 26 years and do an awesome job!

Sandwiches are decently priced, but the cheese is SUPER EXPENSIVE. $10 for a regular sized Cabot block of cheese- I could get that for less than half that in the regular grocery store. And they werent even marked so I didnt find out till I was at the cash register and then felt pressured to buy.

I dont know why something as simple as a sandwich could be the best thing you can eat in Annapolis, but holy guacamole is this place good! Sam and his Grandma are spectacular salesmen.

I stopped in randomly for my first time on my lunch break to get the Italian Cold Cut sandwich. Best in Annapolis HANDS DOWN! From the other reviewers, I havent met the mean lady behind the counter lol but the owner Bob was the coolest. Very friendly easy going guy! And respectful. He was patient and ordered my sandwich EXACTLY how I wanted it. Like the guy below said he definitely makes up for the mean lady some of you speak of. Id recommend this place to anyone.

I used to be very fond of this place. They had big sandwhiches with great ingredients, well worth the money. It seems that recently they have changed their sandwiches, and they are now small and underwhelming. Im very disappointed, $9.00 for a 5-inch sandwich.
