Stopped here for lunch while visiting the university. My daughter had poached eggs and fruit, my wife had pumpkin nut bread bread french toast and I had one of the best gyros ever! In fact, everyone was very happy with their meal and service was excellent! We did eat inside but didnt stress as the owners have done a nice job keeping customers safe.

This is a terrible experience. The first time we went here the food was wonderful and so was the service. We came today and it was awful all the way around. On the menu they have dishes that say yogurt and some that specify Greek yogurt. I ordered something that says yogurt and it ended being Greek yogurt, which I cannot eat. This isnt a big deal, I sent it back and ordered a BROWN rice bowl. It was not brown rice. It wasnt even good white rice. There was supposed to be vegetables in it, there were two pieces of broccoli. My child ordered crepes, there was nothing in them. Crepes always have something inside of them, this had a couple of strawberries and nothing else. No cream or yogurt of any sort, and not much fruit! Our server disappeared and never came back. We had to ask for our server, who they informed us left. I know everyone is short staffed, so we dont mind extra wait times, but at least tell me my server is leaving! Menu items should be as described, or tell me when I order it! I left the restaurant without eating. This makes me sad because some of the dishes you dont see elsewhere, and have always been quite good. This was just below par.

Amazing food, and amazing service. We were seated fast, was able to take our time in choosing our food without being bothered per se, and when the food arrived it looked really good and tasted just as good! Wasnt too expensive, 13.50 for the Ferghessa and 12.50 for the Greek Skillet. Amazing! Would definitely go again

In general, there was no part of my experience at Ama that went well. I have no problem waiting for a while, and we were told that our group of 9 would be waiting for a half hour at the most. No problem! Then 45 minutes pass. I let the hostess know they said it would be no more than 30 min and it’s been almost an hour. She laughed and said “it hasn’t been an hour.” She goes on to say that there’s no guarantee about wait times, and their large group is finishing up. I work at a restaurant, so I understand being busy, but that’s never an excuse to mislead and be rude to customers, especially when they made it sound as if it was a guarantee. We ended up being seating about 55 minutes after arriving. When the food arrives, half of the dishes are cold. They didn’t give us any silverware so we were waiting for a minute or two just to start eating. Then some of our group members had missing items, as well as items being too salty and Not enjoyable. Overall it was just a very frustrating experience.

Went into restaurant to order and were basically told we couldnt place an order in person or on the phone only online and then were asked to leave and do our order. We ordered the cinnamon french toast and full stack of pancakes, along with two coffees. The food is extremely bland like all the other reviews say, and definitely overpriced. We didn’t like how the pancakes were cooked, taste really flavorless and look burnt. French toast was ok but not worth $9. We ate the food since we paid for it, but it wasn’t enjoyable. The coffee is something I could get at my local public library, but the difference is that it costs $1 there and $5 here.

Seems to be pretty poorly managed: the wait staff didn’t know what they were doing and the online ordering makes their jobs so easy that there is no excuse. When I ventured to the restroom, the waitstaff was playing around instead of doing their jobs, probably why it took so long to get my food. The online ordering system is unnecessary and unnecessarily complicated, it also has extra fees and automatically adds a tip before the waitstaff even does their jobs. Overall, I am unimpressed and will likely not be returning to aMa any time soon, possibly ever.

Their new sales system feels more like DoorDash than a restaurant. Parties must crowd around one phone to order if they want a single bill, check out, pay before receiving food, and even choose a delivery time. If you have technologically challenged people in your party, youre SOL. I had to help my Mom through every single part of the system and it doubled the time to order. None of this counts bugs in their software such as losing your order if you accidentally refresh the menu, ordering a menu item without being asked to put any changes to it, or check for possible substitutes. You cant even pay for your meal with cash if youre eating inside. Genuinely disappointed to see a great restaurant make such a bad move. This used to be one of my go-to restaurants and I dont know if Ill be coming back.

My trip to AmAs this morning truly broke my heart. I was in the neighborhood and I had a craving for AmAs stuffed french toast that is usually served with strawberries, cream, powdered sugar all beautifully prepared with four glorious dollops of whipped cream. Imagine my utter disgust when opening my to-go box 10 minutes away from the bistro to discover two pieces of eggy bread slathered with Nutella like some 3-year-old who went into the kitchen to make themselves a Nutella light-bread sandwich. I am heartbroken this morning folks! Its bad enough that the bistro has adopted a new ordering app which lacks detail of menu items so you have no idea what you are paying for. Imagine the level of control I had to possess to contain my fury after calling the restaurant to explain the dissatisfaction with my order and the phone attendant telling me that this is just the way the dish is made. Mind you now, I have eaten the same dish from this place four times. Its my whole reason for going there. This is the type of experience that makes you regret not just walking into the kitchen to place water and oatmeal in a bowl-no salt-no sugar-no butter and plop it in the microwave to eat it as is. Im hurt this morning Ann Arbor. Im not saying dont eat here but a word of advice from a dissatisfied customer--Ask questions while placing your order and do not leave until you see what is in your box. Be blessed!

I visited AMA bistro in Ann Arbor not knowing anything about this place. My experience was awful in every aspect. I ordered a smoked salmon omelette after asking the waitress if it will taste fishy and she said, no not at all. I took couple bites and almost threw up, when she came and I told her I can’t eat it. She offered if I want to order something else, so I got the farmer’s omelette cause I was so hungry. Took them more than 15 min to bring it. Was ok. I was surprised to see that they didn’t take my first omelette off the bill. Asked the waitress and she said, I had nothing to do with this.... awful experience. Perhaps the most underrated restaurant in Ann Arbor!! One weekend in April, my friends and I decided last minute that we wanted to go to Sunday brunch at around 11 AM. We checked all the typical places that most people in Ann Arbor go to for Sunday brunch and all the waits were over an hour long. We then went to Ama Bistro and the wait was about 5 minutes. The food here is really good and I genuinely do not understand why it is not more popular than it is. The staff is friendly, the food is excellent, and the prices are actually better than most brunch places in Ann Arbor. I highly recommend coming here, especially when the wait at every other brunch place is over an hour long, this is the place to have your Sunday brunch!

Ama Bistro is a must-go when in Ann Arbor. If you are looking for a delicious meal, great service, and a welcoming and clean atmosphere, Ama is your place. We had dinner here for the first time this evening and will be coming back, for sure. The place seemed clean and the decor was simple and tasteful. They even had good music playing. But what will bring us back is the food. It wasnt fancy, but it was really well executed(and were not fancy food people) . Everything was fresh and hot. I had the chicken club pita. I rarely eat chicken breast sandwiches. Theres always that piece of chicken with a hunk of fat or something chewy that freaks me out. This sandwich didnt have a single gross piece of chicken. And the fries were hot and crisp. My husband got breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly - done but not browned or dry. The bacon was cooked completely, but not burned or chewy. And the waffle? Maybe the best Ive ever tasted. The berries on top were super fresh. I cant wait to come back and try other things from the menu.

At that point we decided to leave . My husband questioned one of the staff about why we hadn’t been served . She copped an attitude with him . We are polite, older adults . The soup was served very hot. Unusual in my experience. It was so fresh and clean tasting. Exactly like fresh tomato and basil! Chunky not pureed to baby food consistency and thickened for texture. The Cobb came generous and very tasty. The grilled chicken was tender and juicy. It is recommended with the house vinaigrette. I was happy about that choice. The restaurant was spic and span clean. Lighting was perfect and the ambiance was diner like, which suits me fine.We mentioned to management as we left that we would be back, but Armando our server needed some extra help. The small little café located in a Shady opening easily allows you to miss this gorgeous little area. Ive eaten here a total of 7 times and have never once been dissapoineted. From the service to the food, not one part was a let down or feeling unworth the price. The prices are fairly cheap, and hold enough substance to feel like youre ordering something good but also not breaking the bank. When they deliver the food, the large portion size is of the least of your concerns as its so gorgeous that your eyes simply dont want to move to look for the fork.Ive always had very cheerful waiters, no matter what time I come in, and they where also on point to making sure I had everything I needed. The only thing I would say, is if youre on a strict schedule, the food you order could take anwaywhere from 10 to 40 minutes. Well worth the taste, but annoying if you need to get somewhere within the hour and need somewhere quick to eat.

This is place is not customer service friendly!!! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My family took a trip to visit me on campus and I took them to Ama Bistro because I saw this place had great reviews and I wanted to try something new for breakfast. The pancakes were hard and burnt, the sausage was literally cooked to the fullest extent and dry, and the eggs were not cooked correctly and for some reason finely chopped up on my plate. The assistant manager had the NERVE to cut my dad off as he was politely explaining his dissatisfaction since the food had been sent back twice and told us that it was OUR fault for not telling them how we wanted our food (which we did) and that is how they make it as if she expected us to know how THEY cooked their food! You should never disrespect any customer (especially my family). The manager did not really make things better and still made it seem like it was our fault.....I will NEVER RETURN to this place I will NEVER RECOMMEND any people that I know to go either!
