Great experience, all around. Fast, friendly and casual but still professional service; quite reasonable prices. Ive had them fix my old bike twice so far, and both times theyve gone out of their way to check other things on my bike (brakes, gears, wheel alignment) and tune them up with no upcharge. I also really appreciate how they let you browse their wares without any pressure/constant checking in. It led to me buying a couple of extra goodies for my bike. Highly recommend.

Ive been there twice now, and both times I had a really good experience. The first was to get a tire changed on my road bike, they did it on super short notice. The second was to buy an accessory for my bike computer, and while one of the other bike shops in town had no idea what I was talking about, Sic Transit helped me find exactly what I needed in no time. Will be coming back in the future.

I highly recommend Sic Transit Cycles! They performed a FREE safety evaluation on my bike, and tightened/oiled/adjusted anything that was off. I feel confident my bike will last through my 18 mile a day for 18 days challenge for the Semper Fi Fund.

First time in today and they did right by my bike. I came in needing 2 new tubes and a brake pad and they were able to help me in under 30 minutes. Great price for service as well.

I bought a bike here for $2400 back in May. It was the model I wanted and they were very nice in letting me test drive it and answering all my questions. When I bought the bike a mechanic was tuning it up and I assumed I bought it in perfect new condition but as soon as I got home I noticed the rear wheel was very wobbly. I assumed this would be a quick fix and all theyd have to do was true the wheel. They attempted to make it better but still wobbly. They told me the tire was defective and theyd order a new one. It was obvious the rim was also a problem some spokes were dangerously loose. I had to go into the repair shop 3-4 times before they finally ordered a new wheel. The new rim doesnt match the one it came with but I figured it was better than nothing. The new wheel was still wobbly so I ended up buying a cheap trueing stand and fixing it myself since I knew they were not competent at truing the wheel. I also told them about some issues ragarding the chain rubbing on the front derraileur and they said it was normal and all bikes do that. I also ended up tuning that myself and made it much much better.They were nice people but I dont think they are very good at fixing and tuning bikes. For the price I paid I should not have had to go through all the trouble. It took well over a month to get the new wheel and it wasted alot of time I could have used riding. I went here to support a local shop and to get good service. I cant say I regret buying the bike entirely since its a very nice bike but if I went back in time I certainly would not have bought it. The upside of buying a bike from a shop is so that they can tune it up and make sure it in optimal riding condition. The bike is still under the 1 year service guarantee but if anything goes wrong with this bike I certainly will not be taking it to this shop. There are much better, more competent shops around town. This place was always very busy and I never felt like I was a customer they cared for, I was just a number.I wouldnt recommend this place to family and friends. In fact I highly reccomend avoiding this place.

Jessica and her crew are the best in what they do. Jessica, being both a bike racer and general bike lover, can set you up with what you need. She is one of the best fitters in the state and can solve that sore back or knee issue, or on the other end of the spectrum, make you as aero as you can get (without giving you that sore back). She can work with the bike you already have, set you up with an off the self bike to meet your needs, or design a custom geometry full custom bike of your dreams. If youre in the Ann arbor area heading over Sic Transit Cycles. You wont be disappointed.

Sic Transit is an awesome local bike shop. Very knowledgeable. Very helpful. Im a mid-level sport racer which puts a lot of stress on my body as well as my bicycles and their components. I was at a point where I needed to replace one of my saddles with a high end aftermarket saddle from Selle. Sic Transit was able to provide my with a test saddle that same day. It worked perfectly so I placed an order which arrived that same week. I could not have wanted better support than they provided.

I never give one star reviews.I was charged 100 dollars for them to put together a ready to make bicycle I got from Walmart, the bicycle itself costed me 160 dollars all together. This took them 11 days, after taking the bicycle later that day I was almost killed while cycling. They had not tightened the handlebar properly which came off amidst the traffic.I wouldnt recommend this store even to my worst enemy.

Moved to town hoping we’d found our new bike shop but we’ll keep looking. Chose them based on all the good reviews. Very disappointing. Maybe you’ll have a better experience and I hope you do but ours was really bad. We’ll find a place that actually cares about customers and has some ethics.

I called looking for used bikes for both my wife and myself. I was told to come in the next day at 1 to take a look at what they had to offer (so I assumed they had at least one bike in our sizes). Next day I show up and the sales person has no knowledge of the appointment. He then goes on to show me one bike that wont fit me or my wife. I asked him to possibly place my name on a list in case they receive a bike in my size and he tells me they dont do that, that used bike sales isnt a big part of their business. I wont be going back, ever, even when I can afford one of their overpriced bikes.

Have been taking my bike for service there after Great Lakes went out of business. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, prices are reasonable. The techs readily answer your questions and even share the tricks of their trade (e.g. adjustment techniques). The shop also has a convenient system of text updates.

Highly recommend. Staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I bought my first pair bike shoes and clip-on pedals. They happily installed the pedals on my bike, added the clips to the shoes and spent 30 minutes teaching me how to use them. Very reasonably priced as well--I expected to spend much more than I did.

I, my husband, and our 18-month-old daughter recently purchased two bikes, a child seat, and other accessories from Sic Transit, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff were extremely courteous, helpful, and friendly, but never in a pushy way. They were extremely knowledgeable about all the design and safety questions we asked.The co-owner was incredibly patient and playful with our 18 month old daughter as she tried on the infant bike helmets. Our daughter had a lot of fun too! The staff even carried the gear I purchased out to my car, since I had a toddler in my arms. They were also extremely thorough and efficient in attaching a bike rack to our car and a child seat to our bikes.When you purchase a bike at Sic Transit, they will service it for you (for free) if any issues come up-- which is tremendously reassuring. We are so excited to have found Sic Transit, and so grateful for all their help and advice. Highly recommended!

They had a rare custom part on hand and allowed me to get my bike working right away.During a ride this past Saturday, I heard my rear derailleur hitting the wheel spokes and stopped. I noticed the derailleur hanger had sheared apart in two pieces on my Cannondale Flash Fsi 29er MTB. I was concerned because I thought this may take days to get this custom part ordered and shipped so I expected my bike to be down a few days or even a week. Right after I got home, I called Sic Transit since they carry Cannondale. The guy who answered realized during the call that they had this hanger in stock. I went right over and it was the exact part! I installed it in about 20 minutes and was able to ride all 4 loops on DTE on Sunday and not miss a ride! Thank you.

I recently brought a used three speed bicycle to Sic Transit for some work on the rear hub; some of the parts were non-standard and had ceased to be manufactured long ago. Sic Transit had the necessary parts in their collection, and Mark was able to fix the hub at a reasonable price. I recommend their repair service to other owners of older bicycles.

The staff is very chill and friendly and theyre never condescending when I come in and try to explain the mysterious (to me) sounds my bike is making or the self-inflicted issues my bike is having because of something I did.The first time I came in I told them my bike was making three different squeaky sounds. Kevin took a look and the first three places he touched produced the squeaks! I was amazed. And after my first tune-up by Mark I seriously felt like I was riding a new bike!Besides repairs, theyve also upgraded and installed new parts for me that Ive brought in; and they made sure my bike wasnt damaged after I was hit by a car.Ive been coming for years and every time theyre professional, chill, helpful, educational, affordable, and funny. Highly recommend!

I recently brought my bike here because I was having some problems with the breaks. The guys were very nice and helpful. Not only did they fix the breaks, but they explained everything I needed to know about maintaining my bike during the winter months, put air in my tires and greased the chain. I will be going here again for sure and I know who to go to for any issues I might have in the future.

These guys were awesome! I called and told them my gears were skipping with hopes they could fix it today. It was within an hour of closing and they said come down. Ive actually had other bike shops in Ann Arbor send me to Sic Transit (multiple times) because only Sic Transit had the tools and expertise to get the job done. Even if they come across something they havent seen before, they will take the time to find the relevant information to get it done right. These guys just love bikes, and they wont make you feel like your bike isnt good enough for them. I cant recommend them enough!

I sent them an email asking if they buy used bikes. Within a few minutes I got a response saying that they do. Five stars so far.Michael asks about the bike and says send a picture. So I describe the bike and send a picture.Within a few minutes I get another response. Nice fast response, five stars for sure. He asks what I want for it. I said I really have no idea what it’s worth, but I’d be happy with $500 (bike was originally $2,000).Crickets. No response. Another day goes by, no response. Another day, no response.So I send another message asking if their lack of response means they don’t want it. More crickets. Literally it’s been a full week, no response.Totally fine if you don’t want the bike. Totally fine if it’s not worth that much. Not fine at all that when you decide a deal doesn’t suit you, you can’t even be bothered to send a reply. That says a lot about your business philosophy.

Ive been to Sic Transit Cycles twice and had excellent customer service both times: brake replacement and back tire replacement. They even did minor extra maintenance like oiling my chain. The prices are very fair (much more reasonable than what Ive experienced at some of the on campus bike shops), and the people who work there are nice and obviously knowledgeable. Its not a fancy shop, but it is definitely functional.

This is by far the best shop in town. Michael, Joe, and Mike do an amazing job and love bicycles at their core. They are incredibly enthusiastic and will help with any bike project from building a single-speed commuter to helping you fancy-up your dream gravel-grinder. Their prices are very reasonable and now with the new retail space, they have a lot to offer that the other shops in town do not. Sic Transit Cycles has tons of character, love, and passion and I would recommend them to any cyclist in the Washtenaw area!

This is the only cycling shop I would go to in Ann Arbor. I trust them with my bike almost more than I trust myself with it. Jessica is very knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. I always know I will get a more than fair deal here and I love shopping here.

This store specializes in refurbishing old, solid, but often aesthetically (*cough) challenged bicycles.The staff is competent, and knows their way around bicycles, particularly those made in the 70s and 80s. Go here if youre looking for a hard-to-find part or youre like for a solid commuter or utility bicycle.

Bought a great working bike here with 2 years warranty. Prices for repairs, secondhand bikes and parts are somewhat steep compared to internet shops so be mindful when buying stuff here compared to ordering online. Service is great though! Would recommend.

This place is friendly and knowledgeable, particularly in dealing with older and utility bicycles.I would have given them 5 stars, but over the last year theyve gotten away from their original focus of reconditioning older bicycles. Their prices are high on new bicycles and parts, but are not as high as other shops in town.All in all, a solid bike shop that deserves your business and you should feel comfortable trusting with your beloved bicycle.

Best mechanics! Not only do they really know bikes, but they really know people. When I asked about switching out my interrupter breaks, Mark responded with meaningful questions that lead me to make the right choice and get rid of them all together.

Mixed feelings here. We paid $200 to have a worn bike refurbed for a biking holiday. Positive: gears worked well after replacement, rear wheel was refurbed fine, folks were friendly and the process was quicker than expected. Negative: the break pads were not changed and were left worn with the rear break at the limit of adjustment; the tires were not topped up with air. We had to take the bike in to another bike store after one day of our biking holiday because the rear tire was by that time flat - there was no evidence then or later of a slow puncture.

My husband and I went into Sic Transit to get our 4 year old a new bike and we met Michael who was so kind to our little girl. He took her to try out the woom bike on the trail by the river. He did everything possible to make sure she felt super comfortable and confident on her bike! This is hands down the best bike shop we have been to, we felt right at home. We wont be going anywhere else for all our bike needs. Thank you so much we are so happy with our purchase and our little girl couldnt be more excited to start riding her new woom bike!

Left the shop after my repair and had a tremendous tire blowout fifty feet from the shop. Mike gave me a new tube and no labor charge and selected a new commuter tire I am very happy to ride. Very happy to have this bicycle shop almost exactly at the halfway point of my daily commute.

My Father gave me an old Schwinn 18 speed. The rear tire popped on it multiple times and his bike shop misdiagnosed the problem 5 times. I took it into Sic Transit and they diagnosed and fixed the problem within 10 minutes and it costed me a total of 17 dollars!! Highly recommend going there. They re extremely knowledgeable.

I walked into Sic Transit while it was super busy, but everyone in the shop greeted me and I waited something like 3 minutes before Joe started chatting with me. I knew nothing about bikes, but after I explained what I was looking for and how much I planned to spend, he pulled down a beautiful Jamis and insisted on a test ride. Its all academic until you get on the bike, he joked.Joe let me test two bikes, asking me questions and making adjustments the entire time--again, during a rush. When I had my fill, I said I needed to go home to do some more research and he gave me is card.I came back two days later and Joe of course remembered me. He introduced me to Jess, their in-store fitting expert from Fitmi, who had me test out different frame sizes and seat adjustments. When it was all said and done, I bought I bike. Joe helped me pick out accessories--lights, a lock, a helmet, all 10-20% off when youre buying a bike--and he and Michael explained every last detail while they helped me put them on. I left pretty satisfied.Theyre salesman, sure. I ended up spending about $100 more than I had planned. But as a beginner, the warranties, the friendly service, the customary tune-up and tire fillings, and, really, the new relationship with a trusty bike shop in a new town for me were well worth it all.Go here.

This is one of those bike shops that looks super cool, sort of like going into a designer clothing store. Visited there to fix the problem with my neck hurting from hyperextension. The maintenance guy, Ken, explained the different options to me and fixed the problem by swapping out the handlebar holder and the pain is gone! Friendly staff and good prices.

I am from Brazil and I am spending 6 weeks in A2. First time i went there was to buy some parts to an old bike i bought for my wife. Mike helped me out and gave me great recommendations of where i could ride my bike in ann arbor. 2nd time i went there was to adjust a lateral play on the rear hub of my bike, i was promptly attended and i get it solved in seconds! thumbs up!! highly recommended!!

I was very disappointed with my first, last and only visit to Sic Transit Cycles. After finding them on the internet I was expecting to find a courteous staff that was enthusiastic about cycling but like other reviewers I encountered an apathetic and alone worker watching videos on the computer behind the counter.I walked in with my brother, both of us willing to spend money but the person on duty (who I just found out is actually one of the owners, Joseph Bollinger...) barely said a word to us the whole time and didnt acknowledge we were there until I approached him with a question... And then in the middle of my explaining to him what I was interested in, continued to watch a video on the computer. I stopped talking and he paused his video. Im sorry... What was that? he said.... Rude.What this guy doesnt realize is that my brother and I were actually looking to purchase some of those Brooks saddles that are over $100 each. I was also interested in having them do some work on my bike. Instead, my brother and I walked out empty handed with no intention to return. This guys rude attitude cost them several hundred dollars not to mention happy returning customers.It is hard to like a business involving something i care so much about when you see that the owners themselves dont care about their customers as much as they try to appear to care about cycling.Later that same day I went to Ypsilanti Cycle... What a difference.
