My car broke down in Ann Arbor and every place that we called to help as we lived an hour plus away at the time would not tell us what to do.Car Doctor answered the phone and promptly explained exactly who to call and how to get it there.They were amazing and I’m so glad they helped.Even though there was nothing wrong with my car (just an operator error), they spent the time to go through everything they could think could be wrong! I highly recommend going here as they helped greatly, told me what happened to it and was super nice about it as well!

Fixed my A/C and did some maintenance work (brakes, oil change, tires). They did it for an extremely fair price, compared to other shops in the area. Ask for Faisal or Mike- they will go the extra mile to make sure that you understand everything that’s going on and to make sure you are satisfied with the work. Highly recommend.

I am from out of town. My car broke down in Ypsilanti on a Saturday due to my transmission failing, leaving me stranded. I called a few shops but most were closed or told me to come back next week. I called Car Doctor and explained my situation and Faysal at the front desk not only helped me arrange a tow truck, but he walked me through every step of the process and made sure I understood everything that needed to be fixed or replaced. He even put two mechanics on the job to finish the work in time for me to get to my job on Tuesday Morning. Very grateful to have come across this place! Highly recommended. I was traveling from out of town when the brakes went on my car. Not only did they get my vehicle in to diagnose the problem at 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon, but when I showed up at 9am Monday morning they already had it up and they were working on it. This place is a scam! He lied and destroyed my vehicle. It is not the Lous Wolverine Transmission from the past. Avoid at all costs. You will thank me later.

They take the time to explain the problem with the car, then go over the repair options so you know what they will do. Theyve always been fast and around average price, but the quality of work and the integrity of the people really set them a cut above. I will never take my car anywhere else .

Love Lou’s. They are honest, reasonable and fast. You get to know them and you know you can trust. They aren’t trying to get you to add 20 additional services every time you go there. I have had my brakes done there, oil changes, and they fixed a piece on my transmission that only cost me a couple hundred dollars, instead of trying to get me to do a total fix for $1000s. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Very happy with my experience at Lous. They perfectly fixed a problem with my car at half the price that was quoted by another shop. My car works great again, and I saved tons of money. They are honest and trustworthy, and that is the number one thing I look for when choosing a mechanic. As long as I live in this area, they will have my business!

I have not been a Lous customer for long, but I have had only positive experiences so far. Ive had my vehicle in twice for a coolant flush and some suspension work. Both times, Dan and his team were able to get me taken care of. Fees are reasonable and the customer service is good!

Saved me a lot of money on a transmission fluid and filter changed. The refill process is very complicated but they took the time to do it exactly how it should be done. Transmission is shifting better than it ever has!

Took my Buick there with transmission problems They were very upfront, helpful. Theyve been there forever and had great reviews. And with good reason. They do quality work and know what they are doing. Will try other things before overhauling if they have a chance to fix it. In my case a Trans flush & cooler (Very reasonable price to do it and I wanted to have one anyway). Trans was OK for a while but went back to not shifting right. The did a complete overhaul and at less than I feared. What are you gonna do? You cant throw away the car... Other repair places offered to do it but if I was going to do it I wanted someone that did it every day. Very happy with them and glad they are here in town. Oh, I didnt know as a Veteran I got a discount but they saw my Military licence plate and gave it to me without asking. Thats Honest!

Had a catastrophic failure on the transmission of my old Explorer. It honestly looked like it might be totaled. Had it towed to Lous, they jumped right on it (even though it was the Friday before Christmas). Replaced the leaking cooling lines, verified the tranny was still good and had me back on the road in just a few hours. Life savers.

Over the years Lou has taken wonderful care of 3 generations of my family, my father, myself and now my children. Lous staff from front end to back in the shop is PHENOMENAL. They treated me with the utmost respect and were nothing short of honest and transparent the entire time. Even after I paid for a complete transmission rebuild and still had problems with my 2009 Equinox, they held onto my car until they were sure they had made it right - free of charge. I would recommend their services to anyone with transmission issues.

These guys have REAL mechanics. They dont just plug in a computer and see what it says. Had my car at the Subaru dealership because I figured they would be the most knowledgeable on my vehicle. They tried to sell me a new engine for $9000.00! The people at Wolverine Transmission repaired the car for $1300.00 a savings of $7700.00. They further showed me the problem and proved to me that the dealer did absolutely nothing to diagnose the problem.Its hard to find old school mechanics anymore but they are alive and living at Wolverine Transmission.

Service was quick and professional. Lou really cares about his customers after more than 20 years in business (that should speak for itself). My problem could not go away without spending alot of money so they advised me to carefully monitor the problem. My car has over 140,000 miles on it and the transmission is starting to show wear. I would go there again in an instant!!!

Updated 2/18/2018Lou retired. The business is now owned by his Nephew, still out standing service and will still continue to use for repairs Im unable to do myself or dont have the equipment to do. I had a second vehicle that had trans axle problems around January of 2018 and I took it into him.In 2013 I had the transmission for my 1998 ford ranger rebuilt. Two years latter, the transmission is still going strong.

I am rating so low due to the fact that one of there employees sold me a transmission for my truck swearing up and down that it was rebuilt. It was not and he sold me the wrong gasket and filter for said transmission. He will not return any of my calls or text. I hope that Lou does not condone his employees selling junk out of his shop as he knew I was buying the transmission from his shop. My wife and her kid and I are left stranded in the freezing cold tonight 12/29/17 cuz of this p.o.s. selling us a worthless transmission. Very pissed!!!

Not only did they fit me in on a busy afternoon, but they returned my car same day, fixed the issue I was experiencing with my AWD subie, and did it all at a fair price. No surprises, no additional services, just a solid experience. I can see why Lous has been an Ann Arbor institution for 20 years.
