I was extremely happy with the service provided and would 1000% recommend anyone considering buying a new car to Germain! The atmosphere is super welcoming & I never felt pressured into anything. I also thought their communication was super transparent & I appreciated that considering the chip shortage.
If you are okay with extremely poor communication, this is the place to go to. I bought a used car from this dealership on July 28, 2021. I came in on a Monday to look at the car, and sat down with the salesman to tell what I wanted to put down for the down payment and the term for the loan. He told me that a full inspection of the car had been done and he would email me the inspection report later that day. Still to this day, I have never been given an inspection report. The next available date to come in and finish the deal was two days later on a Wednesday. I had my young children with me, and when I got there, I was told that my salesperson did not come into work that day because his daughter was sick. I understand taking care of family, but a quick text or email to let me know that I would be working with someone else would have been nice. As I sat down to finish the paperwork with another salesperson, it came to my attention that my previous talk with the initial salesperson had been ignored, as the term and down payment did not match what I had asked for. The inspection report was not provided to me at that time either. A week later, I received a call from the initial salesperson who told me he hadnt been to work in a week because he had a case of the common cold. Fast forward six weeks later, and the car I purchased from Germain is in limp mode with a Check Engine light. This is a 7 year old car with 54000 miles on it, so I understand that I purchased it without a warranty and they are not responsible for this problem, but I never expected my car to need expensive service on the engine less that two months after I bought it. One red flag that should have clued me in was that when they gave me the car, it showed 17% life remaining on the engine oil, so they didnt even change the oil in the car before they sold it.I had the oil changed shortly after purchase, and I chalked it up to the used car market at the moment. I emailed the salesperson to let him know of the engine problem and to ask if there was anything they could do to help. He emailed me back and told me that he would talk to the service department the next day and email me back. Over a week later, I still have not heard anything back from him. Any response would have been better than nothing. This was not a good experience for me and I would not go to Germain again for anything.Edit on 9/28/2021: Despite the response from Mr. Farkas, no one has contacted me and nothing has been emailed to me. They have my telephone number and have not called me. They have my email address and have not emailed me.
I’m not a huge fan of dealerships in general but these guys are pretty straight. They have always been good communicators and accurately estimate how long service will take and cost. I’ve also heard that they treat their employees really well which is important to me.They also hooked me up with a discount on a big bill and warranty work is always a breeze with them. Highly recommended for Honda service in Ann Arbor.
We have purchased our overall seventh Honda in 30 years and second Honda from Germain Honda of Ann Arbor in two years. Mr. Kent Hepler’s help has been above and beyond our expectations for making the purchase and trade in operation go smoothly. 1 Star for failure to provide full service causing a void in the warranty and for ignoring requests for resolution. Please read. I no longer trust their service, the salesperson and question their maintenance reports.I purchased my Honda CR-V and even bought the extended warranty 2 1/2 years ago. It has approx.19,000 miles on it and has only been serviced by Germain following Hondas maintenance recommendations/schedule and on Germains Service Dept. expert input. In those 2 1/2 years they have never recommended tire rotation because their maintenance reports showed it didnt need to be done. During the last oil change/maintenance check my husband questioned whether they should be rotating the tires based on the mileage. We had them rotated. Two days after the service appointment we went on a day-trip and my husband noticed a loud humming sound from the tires. We returned to Germain for a diagnosis. They thought it could be the tire or a hub bearing. I left the car and then they texted me stating the tires were feathered/worn and that was causing the humming. Their solution was to buy new tires at $900. I asked my husband to step in and he inquired about the tire warranty. They stated it was VOID since the tires hadnt been rotated regularly. They then stated if I didnt want to buy new tires then continued driving MIGHT cause the humming to lessen over time, but the next time I come in for service it would be at 25,000 miles and I would probably need new tires at 30,000 miles anyways. The tires are pro-rated at 60,000 miles so why would they need replacing at 30,000? I bring my vehicle to a Honda dealership for their customer service and expertise. Germain Service NEVER recommended tire rotation based on their inspection reports and now the tire warranty is void because the tires werent rotated! Their website does not make it easy to contact anyone directly. With multiple calls we have addressed this issue with the service tech (Larry) and the service manager (Jeff), the salesperson (Desmond), and the general manager (James). Although they state they will contact us they have ignored our request for a resolution to a problem they caused. The tires are humming due to feathering because they werent rotated regularly. They never recommended rotation and because of it the tire warranty is voided, BUT they have a great deal for me on new tires. They even sent a promotional email a day later for a sale on tires at approx. $650. That was their solution to their lack of service. Their website claims to be committed to their customers and a multiple award winning dealership. Ignoring this issue is not committed nor worthy of any awards.
Update: Doug called to apologize and explained some of the reasons why my emissions issue was misdiagnosed. He promised to train his service staff to improve communications with customers.Service has gone downhill. I have an emissions problem on my Pilot that still isn’t fixed after bringing it to Germain twice. The first time they diagnosed the problem and ordered a part. Waited for over a month for the part to come in. I have no complaints about that. I brought my car in today at 10:30 to have the scheduled service and was told at 2:45 pm that the diagnosis was wrong and they didn’t have time to fix it today. So now I get to take more time off from work next week to bring my car in for the third time for the same issue. They didn’t have my paperwork in their system and kept asking to borrow my tea-stained hard copy that shows the work done at the last visit. People make mistakes. I get it. But I feel that they don’t value my time at all or understand that I can’t just leave my car there from Friday to Tuesday with no offer of a loaner vehicle. I also had to wait a long time to check my car in. I was not treated the way I would treat a customer. I’ve been a customer since 1992 (Howard Cooper before Germain). I have a gut feeling that I got the middle-aged/retired woman treatment. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe they don’t value anyone’s time. I would like a sincere apology. I spent $75 on a rental car today too. (Because it’s hard to be without a car all day when you’re a single mom with a job.)
We brought our 14 yr old Element in for service. Nick was very helpful in quickly diagnosing our charging and starting issues, and brought to our attention some unrelated that were near failure, saving us more trouble down the road. Thanks for a great service visit Nick!
Both service and sales were great to work with! I highly recommend Chris in the service section and Mitch Hardcastle in sales.I previously owned a 2006 honda civic, until I ran over a large racoon that did more damage than I originally thought. It happened right before I needed to make a 6+ drive home for the weekend. I ended up getting it towed here. Chris in the service section made sure I new quickly what was wrong and how much it would be to fix. I ultimately decided that I did not want to pay for such a large service on an old car, and Chris allowed me to keep my car there for the weekend before I decided what I wanted to do with it (ultimately traded it in, still for a great price!).With no car I had to look quickly at options to get home the same day. I found a used honda civic at this location that I thought I may like to purchase, and they were able to get me an appointment in just a few hours with Mitch. Mitch was great talking me through the process and made sure to answer all of my questions. I was able to drive the car off the lot right home. Mitch made sure to get all of my belongings from my old car and kept them at his desk until I came back to Michigan the next week. If you need a new or used car, ask for Mitch!
I would have given a 5 star but for the one issue with my new 2021 Passport which had a bad lighting fixture. I had to go couple times to the service center to fix it. Kent Hepler is a great sales person and very good to work with. He is super fast!!

I am from Cleveland here for the arts festival. I had a crisis oil change needed on my pilot. The young service person was beyond understanding and fantastic. He got the job done in half the time he told me at at a good price. I couldnt have asked for more.
Everyone I’ve interacted with at this dealership has been so kind and knowledgeable, but Jeff has particularly stood out to me. He is always willing to offer his advice while making personal connections. He really knows his stuff, but seems perfectly conservative in his recommendations.
I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS!Absolutely the worse service I have ever received. I brought my car in for a routine inspection, tire rotation, and to replace my breaks. Within a month my car started falling apart, when I called them to complain and say I needed to get it looked at. The service rep did not provide his name, nor did he offer to set up an appointment to get it looked at. I called 3 times. Took my car to my family mechanic and he said there was no way in hell my brakes should have grinded all the way down and the amount of damage done to my car should not be present 6 months after service. When I called Honda back, the Service Manager Doug told me I did not know what I was talking about and that just doesnt make sense, no one would take a call and not set up an appointment- Im sorry but that doesnt add upDoug offered absolutely no help, was rude to me on the phone, dismissed my complaints, and then told me he can offer to look at it and maybe repair the damages THEY CAUSED. I DO NOT trust this place with my car, do NOT trust the service manager because he is just trying to ring you for your money.I will never be bringing my car back to Germain Honda again. Absolutely appalling service and apparently the customer is wrong.

Happened to check my coolant before going in for an oil change to find the reservoir tank bone dry; I thought that was odd and wondered if it did not get filled up last oil change. I go in every 2 months. I filled it up and brought it in a few days later. Turns out I had a coolant leak and the reservoir tank was consistently emptying on a daily basis, which means it was empty when I brought it in and nobody let me know. I now know that coolant only needs to be topped off a couple to a few times a year at most. The reservoir tank doesnt make it easy to read the level, but you hold a light on the tank and you can see it just fine; something you hope a tech. would know, to let you know, and prevent catastrophic engine damage.I left a voice message at the shop and never heard back, so I tried calling during business hours and was on hold for what ended up being 30 minutes both times and never got through to anyone. Next time I come in for some coolant, I ask for a managers number and leave a voicemail. Nobody got back to me. So I go to the shop and find a manager, who tries telling me it is normal for the reservoir tank to sometimes be completely empty. I tell him the problem was fixed by replacing a visually cracked radiator at another shop and he tries selling me a diagnosis; I had a couple other concerns and at some point I got scolded for having my radiator fixed at another shop and not letting their shop try to fix the problem; well, I left two messages, and tried calling in and ended up on hold for 30 minutes twice, so I dont know about you, but doesnt seem like the best place to get work done if something goes wrong.Edit: I wasnt expecting anyone to diagnosis my vehicle during an oil change, but not letting me know the coolant tank is completely empty is a pretty large oversight that could have led to catastrophic, and not to mention, costly, engine damage. Nobody returned either of the messages I left.

Mitch was great to work with. Within 30 minutes of my online inquiry he sent me a walk around video of it including a start up and close ups of some of the imperfections (I bought a used car). I traveled from Iowa to Ann Arbor for the car and communication was great throughout the process. Paperwork was ready to go when I got there and the whole process was pretty painless. Mitch got sick so when I came to pick the car up Jason had to take me through the purchase on delivery day and he was awesome too. Really enjoyed everyone I dealt with. I dont think Ill ever buy a Honda from Germaine again. (My first Honda was from Howard Cooper.)I still come to Germain because Ive worked for years with the service staff, which Germain inherited from Howard Cooper. Theyre the ONLY reason why Im still going to this dealership. Sales might want to interview people in Service to find out how they can be better with customers.
The folks here have taken excellent care of me since 2007 when I 1st drove my car off the lot. Theyre honest, hardworking, and you can tell they really love cars and value relationships with their clients. Trust me, my next car will roll off this lot, and wont get serviced anywhere else!

Bought a 2022 Honda Odyssey a few weeks ago. Our roof box was delayed. It came in but there wasn’t a service date available to install it before our family camping trip so I said I’d come back for it with my partner and we could install it ourselves. The service department (Corey) and our salesman (Brock) contacted us and said they would install it the next day for us so we wouldn’t have to fuss with it. Amazing customer service! We already bought the car but they still want us to be life long customers so they are taking good care of us 😍
I have always had dreams of owning a BMW one day. I’ve been really looking for one for some time and got an alert from CARFAX. I looked at the cars that showed up and there it was. The perfect one so I sent a message to the dealership. Dean Schultz responded to my message right away. I’m sure you have heard stories about how car sales people won’t stop pestering you to do something. Dean actually listened to me about all the items I needed to get over. He was in no way your typical car sales person. When we talked and I wanted to see more photos he made a video to make sure he was able to show everything I asked for and a ton more. Review of Service - no experience with Sales. I havent had a good experience with Germaine Honda in years. Starting from two years ago,- I took my car in for a scheduled oil change and left it with them at 8 am. I told them I neded it back no later than 3, but they werent done with it until 6 pm.- Took it in for a B service and had the most pressing maintenance done, but they gave me a list of necessary maintenance that ran about $1200. When I returned to get it done a few months later they admitted the car didnt need any of that done, and the guy whod recommended it had been fired. Then they found new problems that cost $900- I took it in because one of the tires had a slow leak and I had to fill it every 3 days. The morning after I got it back a different tire was completely flat. The problem had been amplified and translated one wheel well.- I made an appointment for oil change. They canceled it, telling me that could be done through the express service. Drove there an hour before my canceled appointment to find a 3 hour wait with cars backed up outside the entrance.If youve had a good experience here, Im happy for you. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
While the business is outstanding, the prices are twice what I find at Belle Tire. Honda points out all the safety issues that need addressing, but the prices are too high for this wallet. I wish they could lower the prices

Per service - I always feel that my car is being well taken care of here. The team explains things well, and are not looking for the upsell repairs. I just went in for a recall check, and nothing out of pocket or quick fixes suggested. I also enjoy the text-status messages for the repair, convenient for those with a house with young kids where calls can be tricky.Only things keeping from the 5 Star are the dealer level pricing for service (but as above you get what you pay for) and that the Saturday hours for Service were cut for the pandemic.
Second purchase from them for the wife and I. Everything was easy and seamless. Brock made sure to show us all the features of the new vehicle. Wouldn’t go anywhere else - they will take care of you!

I have used Germain Honda services for years and I am always impressed with their care of my 2011 Honda CRV. This trip was an oil and transmission fluid change (cheaper than going to stand-alone operators!). It was as quick as could be (4 cars ahead of me) and all the representatives who handled my car are consummately professional, honest, and a joy to do business with.

We just bought a certified used car from Germain with Kristin. She was great and made the whole process really easy. In total it took us 3 days from first calling and checking out vehicles to driving off with the one we wanted. We were never made to feel any pressure to buy, and if we declined an option Kristin respected us. She did show us all of the great options we could have and we went with the ones we felt were the most beneficial. In the end Kristin helped us a lot, and were happy with our purchase and interactions with Germain Honda.

Just had some work done on my Accord at Germain Honda of Ann Arbor. Overall it was a 5 star experience. My Service Advisor was great to work with, friendly and professional. The waiting room was clean, quiet and arranged to keep customers socially distanced from each other. The technicians returned the car to me running better and physically cleaner than when it came in. Couldnt ask for more. I was totally happy with the experience.
My experience yesterday at Germain Honda of Ann Arbor dealing with Michael was excellent. As always, Michael is very helpful and genuine, explaining what needs to be accomplished when my Honda 2005 was being serviced for a oil change, Headlamp bulb replacement and air filters replaced. Michael is very personable and authentic.

Took my 10 year old CRV in for an oil change and yearly check-up, and as usual it was smooth and thorough. Nick is always professional and personable, and makes sure what is done is appropriate to keeping my car safe and running well. And he doesnt recommend anything that it doesnt need, so our costs are reasonable for maintaining my elder car. This time I was sent a video that Michael, the technician, took while servicing my car and it was an interesting behind the scenes look at the process, plus showed the dirty air filter that needed to be replaced.... well done! Thanks Nick and Michael for keeping my car in good shape, and being very nice to work with while doing it. You guys ROCK!!

I was looking for a new truck and was not having much luck. Using Autotrader, I was able to expand my search area and found the model in the price range, that I had been searching for. It was about an hours drive and I was a little concerned about making the drive to look at a truck I might not really like. After contacting the dealer to ensure the truck was still available, Mitch, contacted me back right away to let me know it was still on the lot and to ask if I had any questions.
