Came here with a 10 grand budget for an engagement ring and sat outside for ten minutes to be let in while she worked with another customer then when asked to see a ring when the lady got a free moment was told I could wait. Will never be back here again. I think you need to only offer in person appointments if you’re only going to give one person the time of day and acknowledgment while the store is “open” even the other customer got uncomfortable and said “you can help her” which to she replied “they can wait”. Lost out on a loyal customer and business I wasn’t just a window shopper as she treated us then had the nerve to finally say “thank you for your patience” as we are walking out the door after not saying one word to us not even to greet us in the store and say we will be with you right after this customer.

My fiancé had my wedding band made here and it is even better than we ever imagined! We gave their jeweler a rough idea and he hand engraved this to perfection. We have bought several things from this store and they never disappoint. Friendly staff, speedy service especially for a custom ring because we were on a deadline for our wedding. I try to refer anyone I can to this place because they really know what they are doing and everything they have for sale is very high quality.

For a small store this place has a HUGE selection. They truly care about quality and work to make sure that you are making the right decision for you and your family. Example: They were able to give me specific advice on White Gold vs Platinum based on hard vs. soft and my active lifestyle. You can tell these people truly live and breath jewelry and they get so much joy out of sharing their knowledge and beautiful selection.

We bought a beautiful Art Deco engagement ring from here that was both reasonable in cost and extremely unique! I am a very particular shopper and wanted something different in terms of a ring and Arcadian had such a vast and special collection that we had the ring picked out and purchased within the hour!! Excellent customer service as well!

I went into the Nickels Arcade store with a tangled necklace. They took it apart and made it good as new on the spot, completely free of charge. They also gave me advice on how to take care of the chain. Very nice, fast, and knowledgeable service.I was also amazed by the extensive selection of gorgeous jewelry and antiques.

I grew up in Ann Arbor and I’ve walked by the Arcadian in nickels arcade probably over a few hundred times. I moved away in my mid twenties and when my fiancée (then boyfriend) started talking about getting engaged, I knew my ring had to come from the Arcadian. The experience did not disappoint. Even though the shop was busy when we went in, we were still acknowledged and felt comfortable. The store is filled with beautiful pieces of jewelry, glassware, accessories and more that are all historic and unique. We found a beautiful 1920s Art Deco engagement and wedding band set that was very reasonably priced and one of a kind. Because of the fact that we live out of town, the staff made sure they could get my ring sized the next day so that we could share our good news with our families in time for the holidays, they truly went above and beyond our expectations. Bailey was extremely helpful and sweet and patient. I am happy to reccomend the Arcadian to anyone looking for a special gift, no matter the occasion. You’re guaranteed to have a positive experience.

There are a look of reviews about the rings and necklaces, but my favorite things at the Arcadian are the antique mens accessories, like cuff links, tie bars, and fountain pens. They have an excellent collection spanning a wide variety of eras, so if you have a particular style in mind, theres a good chance theyll have something. Once thing I suggest is not waiting to buy something you like, as it may not be there when you get back. I missed out on a pair of gorgeous enamel cuff links and an amazing art nouveau crystal inkwell and brass stand set because I didnt snag them right away.

Weve been married for almost 20 years and ALL my goodies are from Rhonda, Bailey, Linda, Tim, and Madison at either the Arcadian in Nickels Arcade or the Main Street Boutique. Rhonda is expert in picking just the right surprises for me. (My spouse has pretty good taste too!) How do you think weve stayed married so long?! Love love love browsing, asking questions, and trying so hard to narrow it down to the perfect piece.... so refreshing to find ALL good stuff - beautiful, beautifully displayed, stunning sparkle, no junk! We found Arcadian Antiques while searching for a wedding band to go with my antique engagement ring. Unsatisfied with the local selection, we came up to Ann Arbor to Toledo based on an e-mail from Arcadian that said, in response to whether they had wedding band choices, tons - come see us. We couldnt have been happier. Not only did we find two bands to go with my ring in one location, at the downtown location, we met with the owner who helped me work out my vision to perfect my engagement ring that I already loved. It took them less than a week to customize my rings! And now, on my finger, I have my perfect ring that I will cherish for the rest of my life! Honest, reasonably priced, quick and creative - I recommend the Arcadian to anyone looking to purchase the perfect piece of jewelry or looking to perfect a piece.

5 star products, 2 star repair service. I got my engagement ring here and love it. I brought it in about a year later to be re-shanked, as the back of the band was quite thin. They assured me their jeweler was the best in the business. However, when he performed the re-shanking, he unnecessarily removed and redid a part of the original band engraving, something my jeweler at home, who would have repaired it if Id had the time, had specifically warned should not be done. The new engraving was much thicker and clumsier than the old engraving and was not even centered on the band. Additionally, he did not stamp the new band for its gold quality, which is required by federal law! The owner offered to have the jeweler fix it, but I didnt really want to give it back to the person who had messed it up in the first place. She would not let me pay for the repair, since I was unhappy, which was nice but unnecessary. Overall, I would 100% recommend this place for vintage engagement rings (or vintage jewelry of any kind) but would NOT use their jeweler to repair your piece.
