I had two nasty cans of paint I desperately needed matched. They were very helpful, but thats not the point of my review.There were 3 guys working today, with a consistent flow of customers. While I was waiting for my paint to mix, I was impressed how this group worked as a team. One was working on a large order, while my guy had brief moments of pause, he would label the buckets for the first guy, move and stack them. All of them stepped in to help each other instead of just standing waiting for the next step in their order, even if it was only for 10 seconds. They never acted rushed or overwhelmed. Super helpful to everyone, very patient, answering every question.A very well oiled machine of team players.

Great paint, amazing service. Wanted a quick update to a bathroom, they were wonderful to explain products I needed to do this! My daughter ended up buying paint for every room of her house, mostly one coat coverage except on darker color. Highly recommend!

Very poor service. I came in looking for paint and not one person helped. Basically the 5 staff they had on hand stood there and gossiped.

It is sad that the customer service has so rapidly declined in this store at Ankeny. As valued customers since relocating to this area, our most recent experience has been nothing like anything I have seen before. We were told by an employee when dropping off a drawerfront for color match that it would be 24 hrs. Now, 97 hours later, we were informed it had not even been started. The employee working stated he only works evenings so doesnt know despite my husband having just talked to him personally last night. I had planned to also buy paint here to finish our project but now will take my business elsewhere.

Sherwin-Williams has a great selection of products, knowledgeable staff, and good sales fairly often. You will find everything you need here to complete your project, large or small.

High quality paint for sure. At times this place can feel like you are waiting at the DMV, so try to go during a less busy time of day if possible.

I want to repaint a majority of rooms in my house starting with my living room. I decided to go to Sherwin Williams 10-25-19 at about 3:30pm. I went there because painting is supposed to be their specialty so I expected professionals that would help educate me and answer questions I had. I had 4 colors in mind that I wanted samples of. I didn’t know if I needed to prime my walls first or not before trying the samples on my wall since my wall was dark. I showed him a picture of the color my wall was and he said “I don’t know. Maybe if you knew the color I could help.” I don’t understand why knowing the exact color has anything to do with a general painting concept. I have used paint in the past that has not needed primer but I never used Sherwin Williams so I wasn’t familiar if that was typically required with this specific product. Instead of listening to me and understanding what I was asking I was cut off and told I need to pick one color. I don’t think it was hard to understand that I wanted to take multiple colors home and paint them on my wall to see which one I liked most before painting the entire room. I just needed to know if I needed to put primer down before hand or not. Based on how unsuccessful that question was I didn’t bother asking the other questions I had. This guy seemed very distracted by the computer, other things happening in the store and he showed zero effort in trying to help me. Instead when I went to look at paint colors he was talking with his coworker about shaving his face and what to carve on his pumpkin tonight. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service. I left without paint and I won’t be back. I’ll take my money elsewhere.

Definitely way over priced paint, I was told 70 dollars a gallon, so I took a paint sample over to home depot and got top of the line paint from Bayer and they mixed up the exact color of paint Id wanted from Sherwin Williams. From the words of Home Depot themself Everyone love Shewin Williams colors, but no one likes their prices

Biggest pet peeve is walking into a store and not even be acknowledged. Store was dead and my husband and I were the only ones in there. They made eye contact with us and didnt even say a word or offer help with anything. All they cared about was watching the football game and chatting with each other. Not helpful or friendly. Would not recommend.

The employees are extremely knowledgeable and can help guide you to pick the right paint/stain for your needs.

Stopped into the Ankeny location today to pick up paint for our jobsite. I was very unhappy with the customer service that we received! Standing in line waiting to get help & instead of helping us he answered the phone. Wich was cool until he desided to help them first even though we had been waiting! He should have put the customer on hold & helped us first! Instead of making us wait some more! We ended up leaving without our paint! Time is money & he just waisted ours! Thanks!

Been buying all of my paint products for every project through the Ankeny store, Nathan has been over the top at helping me along the way with all of my questions about the painting process and the products and tools to use. Will be continuing to use them in the future.
