Knitting Next Door is an awesome place. The staff are so friendly and willing to help and answer any question you have. They also have a huge variety of quality yarn for all your knitting or crochet projects. Im looking forward to potentially attending some of their classes in the future (post pandemic). I think its great that they are taking many covid safety precautions, and I know that I will be coming back many more times! Check it out :)

Very happy with this shop. I work doubles at a nursing home on Saturdays and have stopped in a few times before shift and during lunch. People are always kind and helpful and dont waste your time when your in a hurry. L9ce it. Thank you for all the great customer service. Sincerely that grumpy cna that likes to stop in last minute.

This is hands down the best yarn shop in Iowa. Polly and her staff and so friendly and knowledgeable about yarn and have been incredibly helpful to me as a new knitter. I love the selection of yarn and accessories in the shop and the classes are superb too! I have been so impressed with how they have adjusted their business during the pandemic to meet their customers needs. This shop is doing what all small businesses should be doing and they are a real gem to the Des Moines metro!

An adorable and well-stocked shop. Polly, the owner is knowledgeable, helpful and super friendly. Lots of variety and sample knits, showing off their lovely fiber selection. Plus buttons, notions, patterns and a quaint spot to sit n knit. I will visit again when next in the area.

I loved this shop, great assortment of yarns and local dyers selection. Found some yarns my local yarn shops or other big city yarn shops I travel to don’t carry.Had some hours to kill and the ladies welcomed me and made me feel at home inviting me to knit with them. If you’re going through definitely stop in.

For a small yarn store there are lots of yarn selections with a good depth of lot matches. The owner is friendly but not hovering. The shop hosted an International Knitting Outdoors event and we enjoyed the large groups conversations. Also a very nice Saturday Farmers market on Saturdays.

Always a smile and everyone knows knitting and crocheting . They also offer spinning and weaving. Super variety of yarns, lots of classes. Look forward to going there

My son got some Malabrigo Rasta yarn, the people were very nice and said you can come and knit in the store anytime they are open.

I accompanied a knitter to this store: she made purchases to complete her projects; was satisfied with the inventory, though the store is smaller than the one she prefers, but farther from her residence. This yarn store is a keeper to supply her knitting needs. The staff were described as warm and friendly, and knowledgeable.

ADORABLE shop, incredibly nice ladies, very nice selection of yarn and locally owned/operated. They offer classes for beginners and all skill levels. Left with a smile, I will definitely be going back.

I am a pretty avid knitter and Ive been to a lot of shops in the area. This one was by far the friendliest. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit. This shop has a wide variety Malabrigo yarn which is my very favorite. Probably the largest variety in the area. It was $1.50 higher than West Des Moines, but worth it if you are looking for a particular color.

Everyone working here is friendly and greeted us as we came in the door. The yarns on display are beautiful and there is a good selection of different weights.

Well stocked with a wide variety of yarns (including Nordic yarns for color work!) She also carries my favorite needles, ChaiGoo! Staff are friendly and helpful. I love this shop!

Im visiting Ankeny from out of town and just had to get a trip souvenir, and for a knitter that means yarn! This little shop is awesome!! The ladies that work there were so sweet and welcoming. They have an excellent selection of yarn, patterns, and notions. Clearly theyre a great LYS as there were several ladies there knitting and chatting, which is the sign of a great yarn shop. The gals were super nice to me too! If I were local, Id be happy to pull up a chair and spend an afternoon!

Nice shop with helpful, friendly staff. Good selection for spinning, knitting, crochet, etc. I hear they are supposed to stock more undyed roving and other spinning items. I cant wait. There was a collection of friendly seeming ladies when I came in. It was worth the drive from Des Moines.
