These guys were better than expected! We ran into car troubles while passing through Iowa for a funeral down South. They got us in immediately and did extensive work same-day. They even offered to let us borrow one of their cars to help us make the funeral on time! They were super kind and helpful, and they worked with us in our very tight circumstance!

I recently had my first experience with Christian Brothers Automotive. I brought my car in for a grinding noise when I would turn at low speeds. Over the phone I was told it was probably the break pads. They took my car for a drive and did a full courtesy inspection and ended up correct in their guess about the brakes. I got a ride home for free and my car was done later that same day. Shortly after I got my car back, I noticed a rotational clicking when I would come to a stop. I called about it and they got me in promptly. I went for a drive with the guy to reproduce the sound and on the way back he dropped me off at Dunkin across the road for a coffee while they took a look. He said that if they had to keep my car I could take his PERSONAL VEHICLE to my doctor appointment while they worked on it. I ended up being able to take my car to my appointment since there was no safety issue and then just brought it back after. Of course they brought me home again. They fixed the noise within 2 hours and then I randomly got a call that my car had been returned to my apartment all fixed. THEY LITERALLY DROPPED MY CAR HOME FOR ME. The service is honesty unheard of and I can’t imagine I’ll take my car anywhere else as long as I live in Ankeny!

The crew there is always friendly to work with. They always answer all my questions! They went out of their way to track down a part for us. Highly recommend the crew over there! They are the best!

The team at Christian Brothers Automotive in Ankeny has once again done an excellent job taking care of my vehicle. They did a very good job of explaining what needed to be taken care of right away and what could be put off for a while. Ive know Kurt Greving, the local owner, for a few years, and hes always been most professional and kind to me. I highly recommend this business to anyone needing automotive care.

After taking my car for an inspection and getting a very high price on brakes I called around and this business was in line with everyone else so I called to set up an appointment. I told him I was going out of town Friday so he asked if I could drop off the car on the Thursday before and I told them I had to be at work at 6 AM therefore I would have to think about that. The owner came in at 5:45 AM so he could give me a ride to work which is 10 minutes from the shop so I could leave my car and get it fixed before my trip. I have never had Service that with this above and beyond for a customer. I will now always take my car to them first.

Christian Brothers is the Only place to take your vehicle for any reason or diagnosis. They are beyond trustworthy. They have saved me thousands on my 2 vehicles by performing the work that only needs to be done.

Took my truck here to get a pinion seal fixed. It took them 2 days to fix it. That should have been my first warning sign. When I got into my truck my blinkers didn’t work nor did my headlights. On top of that my wipers wouldn’t shut off. I went back in to talk to them and they swore that all those thing were broke prior to my visit. My question to them was “why would I drive a truck around that had no blinker lights or windshield wipers that didn’t work”? They informed me that it was my doing and they would fix it for a couple hundred dollars. Are you kidding me! My truck worked perfectly prior to my visit. How do you mess up all those things when you are working on the back end of the truck. Christian brothers is supposed to be “Christian” but taking advantage and not fixing what you broke is not what “Christian” is. I will not be going back ever again, I would advise anyone else to go somewhere else.

They are fair priced, they have always been kind and helpful. I wont go anywhere else for my auto needs.

I have taken my cars to them several times, from simple oil changes to exhaust and suspension work. I feel like I have been treated fairly, with no-pressure estimates, which I believe are priced reasonably, if not exactly the lowest. The front desk/ customer area is very clean, and resembles a living room.

I was thoroughly impressed. My first time taking my van this week and I will be back. The lobby was clean and comfortable. I noticed a baby changing table and other amenities for families. But I was most impressed with the gentleman attitudes and respect I was shown as a customer.Bonus that the price was fair and the service was quick.

I appreciate them taking the time to thoroughly explain information and make it understandable for me since I am not car savvy. Was recommended to Christian Brothers by some local friends when I had an emergency repair on a road trip, several hours from home. They took me in on a Friday no less, and were able to complete repairs same day and get me going again. Excellent customer service, professional, and a beautiful facility. The repairs they did were done well also.

I went in to get my ABS light looked at. They charged me $400 to get one ball bearing fixed. I have no longer had any problems with the ABS light. However as soon as I got my key FOB back it did not work at all. I even put a brand new battery in it, and still nothing. I called them up and told them what happened. The guy I talked to told me to come in at 8 AM in the morning the next day and they would look at it. Thats exactly what I did and they briefly looked at the key fob and said there is nothing they can do at this point. It was a complete waste of my morning before work.They handed me a business card with some professional locksmith and said try giving him a call. They made it abundantly clear that they were not going to take responsibility for busting my key fob and they would not be paying for a replacement. I gave them a chance to make things right with me, and they chose not to. That is why I am taking the time out of my busy day to write this critical but honest review. I will not be going back because that is how I will be correcting this mistake made on their behalf. Update to Review: Christian Brothers ended up getting a hold of me after I created this review. They made things right with me, and now I have a working key FOB again.

Great experience at Christian Brothers. They were professional, courteous & I believe very honest about what my vehicle needed. I didnt feel like they were trying to talk me into unnecessary repairs or treat me like a Woman that didnt know any better anyway - refreshing.I loved the atmosphere, the background music, it was almost living room like, very nice & comfortable, definitely not the typical auto repair shop.I was able to observe how the Team worked with several other clients, those with prior appointments and those that walked in, as I waited for my repairs to be completed and they conducted themselves with kindness. They kept me informed about the progress on my vehicle, explained about the parts needed, and finished up fairly quickly for a much lower price than originally expected, I appreciated the integrity! Recently moved to Iowa and needed to find a new place for oil changes. Christian Brothers was friendly and quick. They also did a complimentary inspection since it was my first time in with them. First shop I’ve been to that also sends the inspection report right to your email.

One time they forgot to put the engine cover back on and we didn’t notice for a couple of weeks but when I contacted them about it they apologized and ordered a new one at no charge. Also they are very prompt and professional. I highly recommend Christian Auto.

The people at CBA are the best example of a business I can think of. I am not only referring to mechanic businesses but any service business. They are professional. They fixed the AC in my truck, Were cheaper then the competition and kept me updated on how things were going and any concerns i had. Definitely will use them again in the future and recommend them to anyone.

Very attentive, got me out within the day which was well needed in my circumstance. The only thing that I would consider negative is that I had winter tires I needed swapped over too (which I would have done at my work for free if it wasnt drive-able,) and they had me pay a rotation and balance fee of 30 dollars for it. They ended up bolting them on incorrectly as they are specified for rotation, and both sides needed to be flipped. I didnt bother with it since it was 30 dollars, but other than that it was a very good service.

My truck breaking down was the best thing to happen today. At the Ankeny location, I was delivered fast, attentive service. The men work so well as a team. Let me start at the beginning. On our 14 hour road trip, we broke down due to neglect of another shop (we try to use Christian Brothers as often as possible usually). My 3yo son and I were picked up in the Courtesy vehicle by Ben, great guy. It was such a blessing not to wait on the tow truck in the heat which was just the start of the A++ service we received. When my truck arrived at CB, my suspicious was confirmed on the diagnosis. Jayme, amazing tech, took the time to show the poor job done at another shop. Vincent, in the office, worked diligently on the warranty claims with AutoZone and, along with Jayme, was able to cut my original quote in half! Not only was my truck in good hands, but the CB staff included my son and I in their lunch as well as making sure we were comfortable while waiting. I came to Christian Brothers the day that they opened in Ankeny. I’d refused to get an oil change, and alllllll of the lights started going crazy as I got into North Ankeny.Low and behold, for their grand opening they were doing free inspections and oil changes! The technicians worked quickly and didn’t admonish me for my irresponsibility.Thankfully we haven’t had too many mishaps with cars since, but we’d certainly trust them! They have consistent promotions and have treated my nurse husband well!

Super friendly from the first call to schedule an appointment, right through going over the potential issues they found. I didnt feel like they were forcing anything on me and were just keeping me informed on my trucks health. Its not often I feel comfortable at a shop, and just having moved here that feels great!

I have taken my car to this location multiple times and have always been impressed with the level of service that I get. Recently I went to start my car in my garage during the weekend and found it was dead. I called them on Monday morning and they were able to not only fit me in but sent someone to my house to jump my car and then drive it into the shop. Great Business, Very polite and helpful people. They will also pick you up or drop you off. Military discount coupon on line. I had about $3000 worth of work done, which came with a 3yr/30,000 mile warranty. If you use up the milage it still goes to the 3yr tome frame. My go to now.

Good service on fixing my truck

We were on our way back home and our oil low pressure light came on. We googled mechanics and called the first on the list explained what had happened and was told they didnt have time. Second on the list was Christian Brothers and they didnt even hesitate told us to come right in. Vicent was super friendly and and helped fix a few other issues we had. I wish they were closer to home. They would be our regular automotive shop.

My car broke down in Ankeny recently and Christian Brothers was recommended to me by a local business owner and college friend. I was able to get my car in Friday right before they closed and had an answer Monday morning! Fair and transparent pricing. Unfortunately I dont think the car will last much longer, but Christian Brothers laid out potential options and saved me from putting more money into the vehicle!

The online appointment scheduler was a fantastic time saver, and I was able to drop off my keys the night before my appointment which was scheduled at 10am. The service tech called right after 8am and had already looked over my vehicle and proposed a plan of action. New brakes, sensors, fluid flush, oil change and a tire rotation were all completed and my car was ready to go by 3 the same day. I took my car in for 3 separate issues, a brake switch which they had to work on twice and the issue still happens; a window that doesn’t go down when the car has been sitting for a while in the cold, they didn’t fix that either; and a fog issue that they couldn’t find a solution for so they told me I was at fault. Bottom line, don’t take your car here. Find another service center that cares enough to do a little research to find and fix your issue properly the first visit.

This review is long overdue. I stopped in at random with squeaky brakes in my Civic just weeks after this shop had opened last year. I did not have a mechanic and had zero connection to Christian Brothers or its owner/staff. Since that time I have received service beyond my expectations. In one instance my van decided not to start in a local parking lot just days before Christmas. I called Christian Brothers and Kurt (the owner) came to my rescue personally and jumped my car, not once, not twice, but three times as my van continued to die on its way to the shop. He did not charge me for this, by the way (and helped me avoid a tow). The repair ended up being rather extensive mostly due to my own negligence for not addressing something earlier. The price was fair and the quality of work, excellent. I have had a few other visits since and each time Kurt and his staff (this means you Jake!) are a joy to work with. I always feel appreciated and my questions and concerns are always met with knowledge and honesty. Excellent shop. Highly recommended!!!

We chose Christian Brothers mostly because of their name and close location. We were not disappointed! I immediately liked the place because of the cleanliness and decor of the waiting room as I was waiting to have oil changed. Next, I overhead (sorry, small waiting room) the service rep talking on the phone to a young girl who I believe had her tire worked on the day before and now the car wouldnt start. He said that he knew it wasnt the battery because they check it. He offered to call a tow company to bring her car in and pay for it, so they could look it over. Wow! That is the type of kindness I would hope someone would show my daughter, if she had a problem with her car. That fair and honest correspondence showed me that I had found a new place to service all our cars! Finally, they gave me a complimentary oil change for being a first time customer! Thank You!

I took my car in thinking it may need some new brake pads. It was an old car when I bought it and Ive owned it another 11 years. Unfortunately, there was a lot more wrong with it than I had anticipated. The repairs were going to be much more than the car was worth. Therefore I had to junk it and sad to say they didnt get my business. They were professional and understanding of my situation, and the place is also clean and modern looking. Christian Brothers has been recommended to me several times but we always had another shop as our go-to, car guy. Well, our go-to really let us down with a twice failed part and extended repair time. We tried Christian Bros instead and were very impressed. They were honest with what was wrong, fixed it quickly for a good price and we were back on the road sooner than expected. They did recommend further repairs but without the pressure to have it done right away. We plan to used them going forward and would recommend them highly.

I took my car in to get the radiator replaced and when I got it back my headlight trim was sticking out a little unlike before. I brushed it off but when I opened my hood in the next coming weeks I found my whole headlight was loose and the two bolts got my headlight bracket were sitting on top of the light. Not sure how someone forgets bolts but I’m sure I won’t spend my money there anymore.

Got the report texted to me and folowed up with a phone call to walk me through all that was necessary. They asked how long I was going to own the vehicle to let me know which repairs were vital, and which would be unnecessary.Went with most of what they recommended, they performed the work with no errors to note, and we were on our way quickly.A couple days later they called back letting me know they over-charged me for a part they didnt use. YES. 3 Days after we picked up the vehicle, they realized they charged me too much, and were honest enough to pick up the phone, call me, and refund the over-payment!I will not be taking our vehicles anywhere else moving forward. Trustworthy, Honest, and most importantly, an unparalleled client experience.

Very nice and comfy waiting area, and for those needing repairs while having babies with them, the washroom has a very nice changing table, way better than the fold down wall mounted types. Waiting area even has a little wooden train set for the bigger kids to entertain themselves with.

Good people quality work at fair price.

Just had my oil changed there March and my oil is already damn near black. It’s been under 2 months and only about 1000 miles. I had them do full synthetic which should stay cleaner longer. My daughter had them work on her car and it started making noises after they messed with it.I now have to take my car to a different mechanic and hope that whatever they did won’t ruin my engine. I have to wonder if they used dirty oil or even did the change at all since the oil is so dark.

Jake told me this place was good. I took my 17 year old Ranger 4x4, with 160k in for a side step and a free inspection. Cost less than I was told.The inspection found only two service needed items and no list ofstuff I did not need. Honest, truthful, skilled. This place was New and filled with topof line stuff. This is a well run shop with people that are very nice to bearound. I was there a couple hours and saw them in action tryingto do everything to provide customer satisfaction.you have to be there to really understand how this shop looksand operates Bill

We recently moved to Ankeny and needed a new place to take our cars. I put it off forever having had bad experiences before and we loved our previous place. Christian Brothers was recommended to us by several people actually so thought we’d give it a go with my car. SUPER SUPER PLEASED!!! Both gentlemen running the show were beyond polite and pleasant. They took time to get to know what was going on with my car and a bit about my driving habits. They checked my car over really well and left me some notes on my invoice so I knew what they did. The cost was incredibly reasonable and the place was super clean and everything from the people to the place were professional. We will definitely return for any and all car needs.

Highly recommended! We were traveling through Des Moines and our alternator died. We called multiple shops and were told they couldnt even look at our vehicle that day. Christian Brothers not only got our car in and fixed by 2pm, they also ensured we had a car to drive back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and check out on time. We then took our son bowling, picked up our car and were on the road again. Ethan was especially helpful through the whole ordeal! The waiting area is really nice, and they have trains and books for little ones. I highly recommend this shop!

On a long cross country drive my truck developed a strange sound. I came here and was met by a happy fellow who took the information and got me right in. He also gave me a cup of coffee. This is the kind of place where customer service is the best, I highly recommend it. Thanks for your help.

5/2021 same as my last review, but make sure if you go here from where you normally get you oil change keep records of what you had done to your vehicle or they say the vehicle needs mantance done that has already been done. Last no more car washes for any service, that was a good perk going here but no more.2020 They are very honest about their pricing and will tell you about how it will cost and if its not safe to drive with the problem or not. Last if you go here they wash your car after service is done.

Decided to give this place a try after engine light came on. Absolutely my favorite place now to take a car for service. Absolutely detailed report on what is wrong with car, no bs, friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone in Ankeny or even surrounding areas to check them out whenever have a vehicle issue.

Brought in our car for an alignment and asked if they could inspect the brakes and rotate the tires. In short, brakes checked out and they said the tire rotation was not needed. After their team inspected the tires, they explained that the tread depth was good and the drive tire had the more.
