Excellent service. Ankeny Tire & Battery came highly recommended. I am always a bit trepidatious about taking a car in for periodic service after the warranty has run out. Tony changed the oil & filter and gave the rest of the car a thorough review. I easily expected something additional, but he said it was fine & reminded me of the dates for plug changes etc. the auto manual recommends. Wendy drove me to the library & coffee for the few hours it took to service the car. Highly recommend and will definitely rely on them as my preferred mechanic.

I didnt even go in the place looked so sketchy. The parking lot was gnarled and I could barely see the sign. I know this isnt a review on their service but if they cant put in the effort to manage there own storefront, how can I expect them to take good care of my car.

I didn’t have any specific issues, just wanted to make sure it was still in good condition and would hopefully carry me for another 5-10 years. One of the most difficult things is finding a auto mechanic you can trust. I have personally taken 3 different vehicles here for varying levels of service. They will tell you exactly what is wrong and needs to be fixed and can outline items down the road that may need repair due to wear but are safe to drive until the scheduled maintenance is due.I would happily recommend them to any of my friends in the Ankeny area as someone to trust.

I recently had my 2009 Ford Expedition worked on by Ankeny Tire and Battery. The experience was terrific and I wouldnt expect any less than that. This is a long time Ankeny business that I remember my parents going to as a kid. The people there are very professional and friendly but above all they are trustworthy. If you have an issue with your vehicle go to them I think you will be very pleased with the results. These are not the chain store do it all muffler wizards squeeze every nickel out of you places, these are good people.

My my 1966 F100 here for Tony to work on it. My truck is a little tricky since it has been rebuilt with parts from other cars (my little hot rod). He did excellent work at a reasonable rate. He replaced the front springs, inspected the front end, installed a thermostat, & charged the AC. he noticed that the radiator was plugged and suggested I get it flush. I told him to go ahead and do this. All work was completed in a timely manner and faster than I expected. I would recommend Ankeny Tire and Battery to anyone and will be taking my cars back there when I need them worked on.

We took a vehicle to this location to get a quote for repair. Their quote was $1,700. We then took it elsewhere to get the same work done for $700. They didnt seem too happy about that, so Wendy called asking angrily for us to pay them for looking at it and providing a quote. We paid it but will never go back.

We have two cars that are serviced by Ankeny tire and battery. A 2000 Toyota Camry and a 2003 Toyota. The 2000 Camry is approaching 200,000 miles and the 2003 has passed 300,000 miles and going strong because of Ankeny Tire and Batterys excellent service. Wouldnt trust our vehicles care to anyone else.

Great customer service and great quality work

Tony (owner) is personable and called when he found something else (other than the reason we brought it in) wrong with my daughters car. He fixed some minor things - a small $30 extra charge we werent prepared for. However, I was glad he fixed it. Very trustworthy. His receptionist (Tonys daughter) checked us in and out quickly with a smile and some friendly conversation.

I would love to write a glowing analysis of the experience I had with Ankeny Tire & Battery Service. You know, the ease of making an appointment, the concern of the repairs needed, the courtesy extended to me, the phone call to give me an estimate, the feeling of family by the staff, the quickness of the work completed, the cost of the labor done; you know, all of the things that make a business great. But I would fear that everyone would be using them for all of their automobile work and they would become too busy for me. So, if you don’t like all of that personal attention and affordable car care, then don’t go to Ankeny Tire & Battery Service.

I had an estimate for suspension more then $1000. Got a second opinion and It ended up being a stabilizer link $200. I love Tony. Someone you can trust.

They will assess what is wrong and will honesty tell you if something does not need repair/replacement if it doesn’t need to be!! Most places will replace things even if they don’t need to be replaced just to make money. I entrust them with all 3 of my vehicles!

Scheduled when to bring it in and,got a Text message about appointment.Took it in on carburetor problem. Advised,thought carburator needed rebuilt. Tony did not rebuilt it found out different problem. Saved me money and Honest about problem and now it runs GREAT. I will have him take car of car. Recommend him Highly. A 5+++++ in my book

ATB gave a great quote for my 100,000 mile service which included new plugs, radiator flush, transmission fluid and filter change, and rear differential service. Van is now running better than ever.

Recently I had occasion to take three of my vehicles in within a span of a month for the excellent mechanics there to perform some routine service work as well some more complicated mechanical tasks. Had water pump replaced on a Ford Flex. Initial worst case estimate was $1950 but the shop was able to install for $1550 in the end. I appreciate that I was given the worst case price but the shop was able to deliver for much less!
