What can I say?! I absolutely love this place! My first experience at Music Scene was about 18 months ago when I was looking for an electric piano with weighted keys for my granddaughter. While talking with one of the store owners, Kyle Shook about learning to play the piano as a middle-aged adult he stated, “You’re never too old to learn how to play the piano!” I decided to give it a try and what do you know, I’m still taking lessons with my 8 year old granddaughter and just loving it!!! I also love our Korg electric piano we purchased! Kyle, his dad Steve and brother in-law Jayme are absolutely amazing people and obviously enjoy music and helping their students and customers! Lane did a fantastic job restringing my new classical guitar and gave me great guitar playing pointers as well! Music Scene and the people there have certainly influenced my life for the greater good! My creativity in the areas of music in this area has made a profound difference in my life in a variety of ways! I highly recommend Music Scene and all its benefits! A delightful find! Nice music store with great instrument/music selection and knowledgeable staff. My favorite by far are the private ukulele lessons by Eric Schumacher. He has an amazing way of assessing my current understanding of music theory and helping to apply that to the fretboard. He applauds progress and encourages expanded growth each week. I purchased two instruments from Music Scene and have had the best experience. The shop owners are SO helpful and knowledgeable. I never felt like I was being pressured in to buying something or was being taken advantage of like I did when calling other places in the area. They by far have the best prices, service, and people in the area. If you arent local to Andover, it is still worth the drive. We live an hour away, it it saved me hundreds of dollars coming here. I left feeling great about my purchase, knowing I had two high quality instruments in great condition and would have the help I needed should problems arise or repairs be needed. They stand by their instruments and repairs and the customer service is outstanding. I wish more places treated their customers this way! The owners are local, invested in their community and support the kids in so many ways. I have referred several other families, and they all have had the same experiences!

Best service Ive experienced. Extremely knowledgeable and great turnaround. Lane adjusted my guitar and I noticed a huge difference right away with the tone and overall performance of my instrument. Will definitely be a return customer for future projects!

My teen and elementary aged boys have been taking piano here for five months. They have two different teachers which has been fantastic as the teachers are each great personally matched for my boys! After our first time in the store, my older son said he could tell everyone enjoyed working there and it just “felt friendly.” We have enjoyed the monthly showcases as well. We are so impressed that my husband and I are planning to start lessons as well!

I walked in with a broken ukulele and violin. Lane fixed the violin in front of me in 5 min. The ukulele was fixed the next day. The experience was friendly, professional, and had the perfect touch of humor. This place has an atmosphere that is welcoming and humble. They met me where I’m at which was refreshingly pleasant and uncommon in today’s culture. I’d give it 6 if I could.

Ive had Lane, at the repair shop, work on both my alto and clarinet. Amazing job on both horns, they played like new and it done very quickly!

Lane set up my fretless perfectly with new labella strings. Highly recommend him.

As a beginner, my guitar was killing my fingers. Ive owned it since 72, but had never learned to play it. After 6 weeks I had their luthier (Lane) check it out and he told me that it wasnt just me. The strings were way too heavy, so he put on lighter ones and lowered the action & the guitar is worlds easier to play. Lessons through MS are coming along nicely, too (thanks Ryan B.)

Great place to go. I went and purchased a trumpet from a large store in downtown wichita. I payed $700 for a used Jupiter. I then stopped in Music Scene just to make sure I had made a good purchase. There I found the same trumpet in the same condition. I payed $350. I took back the other trumpet and am very happy I stopped by Music Scene. Also, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly reccomend.

Music Scene is the best music store in the Wichita area, hands down. The staff are always courteous and helpful; the repair shop is efficient and professional (instrument turn-around is very quick); the teachers are all experts in their crafts, give personal attention to each student, and are very good with any aged student. They have large studios for the private lessons, some even with 6 foot grand pianos, so serious players have great instruments to practice on. It’s a family run business and I’ve personally known the store owner and his family for many years and they are all great people to work with. I can’t recommend it enough!

My daughter has been learning to play the piano from Adam and he is awesome. She is doing great and has learnt a lot in 3 months. Adam also taught a week long song writing class at Music Scene this summer and my daughter actually composed a song, wrote lyrics and played it at the end of the week. My son has been with Music Scene since 2012 when he was only 5 yrs. old. He still takes lessons for 4 different instruments and enjoys them all. The Music Scene is a great place to buy an instrument or get repaired for a great price! My friends son started playing clarinet in school. The instrument was a hand me down and after a couple weeks of playing, she realized it needed some work done. The Music Scene did an excellent job, for a good price and had the repair done when they promised. Definitely the place to go for all instrument repair!!

Finally! Someone has answered my gentle prayers and made an affordable music store where I can go to take lessons on not only the piano, but also the triangle.
