Made a purchase on website for store pick up. My local store was out of stock but website referenced me to next closest store that had one & was ready when I got there. Heather & Devon set an awesome example of teamwork with Devon making sure that I was satisfied with my purchase & handling it as though it was his own while Heather diligently filled out the paperwork & throughly explained the store policy & directions to take if for any reason my item failed to perform in workmanship or intended use. My local store also has great sale associates so Kudos to Academy Sports for putting the right people in the right departments to make every purchase an enjoyable experience. Im truly a loyal customer because I feel appreciated for my business every purchase I make. Thanks for putting the customer first.

I ran by Academy Sport for a couple of things and to make a return. The items I was going to buy were not available and many sizes are just not in stock. I understand the issue with stores but WOW!Customer Service as I entered the Store was exceptionally courteous! The refund was easy.

They were great there was an item on the shelf that had a price tag and when I got to the register it was a different price but they honored the price that was on the shelf there was a price mix up but they did honor the price on the shelf I thought that was awesome.

Very helpful staff. Lots of things we were shopping for. Prices are reasonable. Purchased several items on this trip. Check them out for yourself, I think you will be pleased.

I really like this place! They had everything I was looking for! From pocket knives to backpack water bottles! So cool if you ride bicycles! Shoes and active ware available in cool colors. Fitness supplies, guns (nice selection), & 🎣 supplies!

Service & selection are usually great. A bit disappointed in yesterdays visit because 1 check out lane was open and the line was to the middle of the store. I visit this store at least 1-2 times a week and that is the 1st time Ive had that experience. Store is always super clean and the older gentleman with black hair & glasses is the best greeter in the business. Online service & selection is awesome also.....the speed of shipping is on par with Amazon.

Love this place. Their no hassel return policy is great. I didnt expect to return the item we purchased, but it had a manufacturers defect and I never heard back from the mfg. Took it back and Academy was able to look up my purchase (card transactions only without receipt) and give me a full refund. Kudos!! Keep up the good work and high level of customer service.

We boondocked here for 2 nights. We talked to some of the local police and they told us where we could safely park our RV overnight. The first night was very noisy from work being done at Home Depot. The second night was much quieter. Very safe and well lit. Thank you Academy Sports!

Out of sale item I was looking for. However, still had other options and prices are fair. Store is clean. Cashier and other employees very polite.

Very kind people and talkative. Willing to help and share information about current outdoor patterns like bass fishing. They ask how you are doing and make sure you are treated well.

Huge selection, decent prices, and helpful employees

After I looked and didnt find what I wanted a guy at the counter told me where to locate the item. I still over looked the item and a wonderful female worker helped me to find it. Very nice and full of laughter she made me feel very welcome. This was my first time in this store and I will return again. Clean and neat and ladies there is a bathroom!☺

My five stars is for the helpful staff in the gun department with Will and the manager. We had a great experience with them when purchasing a gun!

My husband and I bought a grill here and had some trouble fitting it in our vehicle. Bob and Will here stuck with us till it was figured out helping us take some of things off to make it fit! They were very kind and helpful. Great customer service! We highly recommend!

I like some Academy every spring. Getting ready for a little bit of outdoor living. The Academy we visited in Anderson SC was woefully short on gear. Looked almost ransacked. I guess the gifts of 2020 still live on in 2021. Not holding it against Academy. Just saving some people the drive.

Seems like a good store bought a few things here and I pick up ammo on the regular. staff is knowledgeable knows when their trucks come in. Prices are a little high so I only gave it four stars and honestly no ones ever really went over and beyond service wise to get that five star.

Went to purchase spring soccer items. They had a nice selection and large stock in shoes, limited choices in shin guards. The employees kept following us while we were trying on shoes. It got irritating having a small child crying, trying to fit shoes on a kid, then just having 2 employees basically circling you (one guy with long black hair, the other with kind of wavy reddish brown hair). Felt very uncomfortable. They were even heard talking about us trying on the soccer shoes while my husband was finding work shoes.. is that not allowed? Ill choose a different sporting store next time.

Academy has a great method for allowing people to purchase ammunition. You just need to arrive at or a little before opening of the store!

Love this place for gym clothing, camping, fishing, and hunting gear. One of the best youll find around here.

It was a great day. Found a perfect pair of shoes but I expected them to be pricey but worth it. Had trouble finding the cute style in my size. So I might have to take back my shorts not sure yet on the top. But was able to find a pair of shoes time a fast manner which is saying alot for me. It usely takes hours upon hours. Then I still usely dont get any thing. But not over stocked like some places. So mad it feel less stressful.

Ive called there 6 times to see if there is a product I wanted inside and they all pick up then hang right up. Then when I went in no one helped me but they manage to follow me around the store as if I was going to steal. Im not saying this is a bad place but Id rather shop at walmart rather than to deal with this place again.

Good place and they have have a nice foot wear selection and a great grill options and tons of accessories.

I went there to purchase a firearm the gentleman with the long hair was behind the counter had very bad service so I took my business elsewhere. Not sure what his problem was. I definitely would not have him as an ambassador for my company. If sales are dropping is probably because of him good luck with that

Right now academy is running on fumes. They have plenty of sports etc, but the ammo guns knifes etc, barely a thing. This is common among all right now Im sure. Disappointed that Academy doesnt make more effort to encourage their customers to wear masks to help curb the spread of Covid-19. Well less than half of the customers were wearing masks when I visited their Anderson, SC store 3 days ago.

Had a great price for a grill/smoker and a fold up chair via weight limit. Exactly what I wanted when we grilled out.

We are off grid homesteaders. Every so often we buy new firearms and stock up on ammo. A couple of weeks ago we went to stock up, and realized that the whole world has gone insane. So, we have started buying more practical firearms to prep.We went into the Anderson location, last night. We asked to view 2 guns. We were getting ready to purchase a kimber 9mm. I set it down to ask questions and the associate took the gun, put it away and walked away. I guess we didnt look like we could afford such firearms. So, we went to look at ammo. We saw the only available ammo was 5.56. We went to ask another firearms associate about 5.56 firearms. He told us a little bit, and in mid conversation he stopped and started typing on his computer. We stood there waiting on him to continue the conversation and he said oh, what? Did I not finish this conversation?. We left the store and went to buy a 5.56 at another store. Very, very disappointing customer service. I WANT that Kimber gun, but Academy would have to nearly give it to me to purchase anything from them, ever again. We will be telling the rest of the off grid community and preppers, as well.

They were out several of the spinning reels in the fishing department that i was looking for. I finally decided to get one that was on display.there wasnt a lot to choose from. I do understand that most businesses are having a hard time because of the covid virus.with thatbeing said shipping has been a problem for everyone.

Love this place! I also love the Clearance racks! Make sure you got the time to check out everything b4 you leave. You can find some nice stuff here 4 cheap n marked down! I was able to get a 4 Simply Southern T-shirts and 1 pair of shorts plus 2 under armour shirts for my son and my total was under $50 plus used Academy Awards credit card to save on each item! I was shocked bc I thought my total was going to be at least $100bucks plus tax but I was shocked! Must check out the mark down Clearance racks ladies/guys! You can find some great name brand clothes 4 cheap! Love the savings!

They had what I was looking for but there were 50 people waiting in line and only 1 cashier who got no help from any of the other workers so I left without purchasing because check out was to slow

*This review is for CURBSIDE PICK UP not the store entirely*Im giving two stars for the two employees who helped me at the end of this horrible trip.I would not recommend using the curbside pick up at all unless you have time to kill. I sat for 25 minutes before I decided to go in and just get my order myself. This was my first time using this service anywhere ever and I expected faster service considering I seen an employee or maybe even a manager standing outside for the last 15 minutes just talking. After going in I found my item was right by the front door and the lady who helped me was very polite, courteous, and helpful. Her name was Cotloti (I know Im butchering it but its a unique name). She is a great employee to have and you should be glad she turned my experience around for the end of it. The other young gentleman who seemed to be on his break behind me even offered to help her find my item. (I didnt catch his name)Not sure if this is normal wait time but if it is I wont be using it ever!

Anderson SC Academy has always be a great place to shop. normally have what im looking for and at a fair to good price. tonight, as i was checking out, the Cashier behind me read the back of my shirt ( im a Firefighter ) and she said dont forget the first responder discount. that was awesome as i was making a rather expensive purchase and it saved me a lot.
