Very knowledgeable and friendly. They are the big boy toy store. Im always getting dragged into here by my other half and they have a blast talking anything and everything RC Cars. Its foreign to me but I recommend at least peek inside

I have been shopping here since I was 5, old location same great family. Fantastic selection of basic to extreme hobby products to choose from. Quite knowledgeable staff and an array of tools to help with that stuck screw or bearing. Awesome train and model hobbies upstairs with a large train-scape to experience. 57 years of family owned excellence! As far as RC arts go they often beat out the likes of Amazon and it comes with a face behind the smile.

These guys are awesome! I havent done a scale model since I was a kid and decided to get back into it. So I felt like a newb when I walked in, but Mark took great care of me and got me hooked up with the basics to get started and helped me understand what I needed, plus he got me in the customer appreciation program that gives you 10% back after six purchases in store credit! It has been a couple of months since I visited Anchorage House of Hobbies. I went looking for some modeling items and advice on S-Guage trains. I am immuno-compromised so try to limit my visits to early mornings or late evenings. Everyone was masked - super friendly and helpful. Took me back to my early days working in a cutting edge California toy/hobby store. These folks are the best! Thanks for a job well done again!

I have been going to House of Hobbies for over 7 years, and counting. Ryan is very passionate about owning the business, with plenty of choices to choose from. Mark is extremely knowledgeable about models, and you can see his passion for continuing the love of models to the next generation. The guys downstairs have so much knowledge about R/Cs and make you feel comfortable when asking questions. Great job guys, keep up the good work!

Arrived literally a couple minutes before they closed. Didnt matter to the customer service there, they helped me regardless of the time and how many questions I asked. They were wonderful and 20 minutes later had a sale. Very knowledgeable about what they have. If your interested in RC cars, no better place to go.

Ive been going here for years. Ed upstairs is awesome! He really knows a lot about Gunpla kits. Prices are a little higher compared to online with shipping. Its nice to have a large selection, right here in Anchorage AK! To offset the cost....they do have a program where you get 10% back, after your 3rd visit/purchase. The next Gunpla I purchase, will be the Perfect Grade Strike Freedom or Perfect Grade Exia LED!

Oh my. I cant believe I have never set foot in this store. Anyone that is into RC stuff *needs* to go here. I had been ordering all sorts of parts and accessories from Amazon and Banggood. What a mistake that was. You can get just about anything you need here! They will be getting 100% of my hobby business from now on. Just take note, they are restricting entrance of only 6 people at a time TOTAL due to covid. Parties no greater than 2. Limit your time inside to 15 minutes. Just be aware before you go. Kind of sucks, but glad to see they are being safe! Keep up the good work guys. Ill be frequenting this hobby shop often!

This place has terrible business practices. Due to covid I understand they can only let a certain amount of people in but there is no curbside service. You should not have to wait in your vehicle or in the cold for hours to return an item that can easily be done outside in seconds. Also they say you can only be inside 15 minutes so everyone gets a chance to go inside. They do not enforce their own rules. Over priced and a massive waste of time and a drive!

I eventually found what I was looking for but my overall impression was that all the staff were too busy talking to their friends or other staff to ask me if i needed anything. I didnt feel welcome and i will not return.

That place is awesome I got the new Gundam Iron Blooded Orphan master grade kit there last week. The person that helped me was nice and even help me find a nice wash to make the kit look weathered. And now the kit is on my desk looking like it just came out of war.

I’ve tried to use these guys a couple times. Every single person couldn’t care less to even attempt to help you. Go with Amazon put these losers out

They have a good selection, and the prices didnt seem bad compared to online options. I think its important to support these guys, so they stay around, but they seemed plenty busy on a Saturday, so that is good. The staff seemed helpful, and knowledgeable.

They are great at what they do. They are quick to answer all of the questions that you ask and a quiet a bit of knowledge on the type of hobbie that you are interested in may that be rc gundam or rockets and everything like it.

I went for a Gundam model kit and was happy to find they had a wide selection ranging from the 1/100 scale to the 1/60 scale models. The pandemic has some new rules in place but still a very clean and friendly store.

They have a big selection of paints and models. Basically, their whole upstairs. They have knowledgable staff and everything you need to make great models and other things. (I just make models.

Great customer service. They are attentive to your needs. Be nice to them though and realize they need to hang out upstairs of you remain there after you find what you need.

Went in and bought an rc plane. The same day, the wind took it, went back to Anch House Of Hobbies, and after waiting for half an hour to get helped, I get told there is nothing they could do for me but sell me another plane. $160+ bucks for five minutes, will not be going back there, will not be recommending, ever. Poor customer service. Wouldnt give any stars if that was an option.

Surprisingly pleasant. They have everything you need for all models. Drones. Not much in quality for plastic models, or kids with lower abilities. But overall, this shop is awesome for real model enthusiasts.

Really good RC selection. Model airplanes and trains not so much tabletop(gaming) but they have the tools for hobbies That you need. Pretty good paint selection non Games Workshop stuff. The staff knows a pretty good amount about the hobby side. Would go back.

Went in for a beginner model for my sons at home school thing. Purchased a team corally kronos xp 6s for myself since Im off work now too,and forgot about the model. New model so no parts yet but still a great store. Got my micro nano quad racer from there few years ago. Thing is fast...but not as fast as the kronos. Love walking into the place too

Best most helpful staff of any hobby store Ive visited. Everyone that works there has a tie to one hobby or another. They use and play with the goods they sell and are very knowledgable in all matters RC!

This is a world class hobby store. I have never seen anything like it. The The prices are fair and the staff is friendly, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Dont take your business anywhere else. Most other hobby stores are a joke and a waste of time compared to Anchorage House of Hobbies.

You know allot of people knock Anchorage house of Hobbies for customer service, every time I have gone in there not one of their associates was not ever helping a customer. Well unless there were none to be helped anyways. Yes sometimes customer conversations can be lengthy but that is why they are there. To try to give the best advice possible to the relating hobby. As far as pricing goes, House of Hobbies is pretty much on par with the retail side of pricing, remember they are not this huge hobby chain that can break off huge discounts like other online retailers. Its a home town hobby shop with a great variety of hobbies.

Be on your toes....know your business and be about it. Be knowledgeable about your hobby and its components. The staff is very nice and can assist you with your needs.

If they dont have exactly what you need to get your remote control car, boat, plane, or whatever it is you have running right, they either know where they can get it for you or have a few tricks up their sleeve to make something else work.
