I stopped by this Brown Jug to pick up some refreshments on our way up to the Denali area. Their selection was better than I expected and their prices were OK. Their Makers Mark 1.75L was $54.99 a similar price to what Id pay at an ABC store in North Carolina and 1.75L Captain Morgan was around $30.99, a bit higher than what Id pay at home. Considering all meals and groceries I purchased in Alaska were much higher than I pay at home the liquor was probably a good price for the area and actually cheaper than I expected. I would shop here again.

There are plenty of liquor stores in Anchorage, but the Brown Jug Warehouse is known for having the biggest and best selection of beers, wines, and liquor. My wife and I bought all our alcohol for our wedding in one stop. The employees not only located all the varieties of wine and beer, but they also had them ready for pickup. We had a discount for buying in bulk, so that money went towards the honeymoon. I understand that there will be people excited about the mask mandate being lifted today. However, I find it highly unprofessional that an employee, possibly a manager, just shouted from the cash register that there will be new signage about masks, that it will be up to the individual if they would like to, and I quote, as it fing should have been from the beginning. Again, I understand that people are excited, but the last part of his announcement off-putting, as a customer, and not what I want to hear when shopping.

Easily, the best wine selection in town. The staff is always courteous and very helpful. They have an excellent selection of beer and liquor as well as a growler bar.

Great store selection for spirits and wine with very friendly staff. Only issue I had was that they may not have the very specific expensive stuff like the Glenmorangie Signet I was looking for, also they do have (but rarely) inventory troubles (missing listed products) with a very few that Ive experienced. Overall its a solid place.

I had never been inside and wow this place is huge. Couldnt find what I wanted but the staff was great and helped me, they took me to the product I was looking for instead of just telling me.

Quite simply, the best selection of any type of drink youre looking for in the Anchorage area. La Bodega might have some more obscure beers, but the Brown Jug Warehouse Store has the absolute best selection of whiskies (scotch and otherwise) in the city.

Brown Jug is one of my go tos for those hard to find items, and also for some good deals regardless of when you stop in. Found the Redbreast 12 there.

Was refused service because the cashier asked me who I wanted to win the super bowl. I wonder how much money the business is losing out on because of the guy on the liquor store side’s personal decisions. This must be addressed.

Great prices but they reduced inventory. They do offer a Clearance rack with an assortment if reduced price spirits. I like to try possibly a different brand of liquor I enjoy. Or a party situation. Nice. Helpful staff usually more than one checkout stand. They didnt have exactly what I wanted but there was alternate voices or it would of been a 5 star.

Love going to this Brown Jug the staff is very helpful and friendly they have staff for each department wether its fine, beer, liquor etc... They always know what your looking for even if you just describe what the packaging or color is if you didnt know the name.Katrina the general manager is awesome she helps out with literally everything she helps customers find items from each department never redirects a person to one of her other employees, if theres a big line forming she help on the cash registers. Always keeps a positive and friendly attitude when I see her. She is extremely professional and very personable. Being a store manager can be tough considering the size of the store dealing with large amounts of inventory and staff from top to bottom she exhausts all areas of being a face of a store with that amount of responsibility with outstanding control and ability not to crack under pressure. Used to be a great place, now its just depressing. The staff all look grumpy and sad working there. Overall appearance looks worse too. Dirty.

Please enforce your mask policies on EVERYONE WHO COMES IN. several people in there without, And to the older lady who works there with the clear mask that looks like a horse trough, THOSE DONT WORK and I SAW you wipe your nose with your hand and KEEP ON GOING. No sanitizer, no hand washing. Is this business really doing everything it can to protect our community??? Nope. Lost our buisness permanently.

Only complaint (and its a small one) is they never stock the limited editions of Guniess.Other than that this place is amazing.Its clean, the staff is knowledgeable and they always apply a veterans discount just by checking my ID.Plus they beat any of the other prices around town.

This Brown Jug is by far my favourite one in Anchorage. They have a wonderful selection of spirits, wines and beers. They also have a great selection of craft beers from around the state of Alaska. I love their import selection as well, as they carry one of my favourite German beers. Their prices are competitive and fair. I tend to find their staff friendly and kind.

Best selection that I can find in town but I think that the employees should be more focused on customer service (as someone who worked retail for years). I often have a tough time finding help and am sometimes too shy to ask.The cashiers do well, in my opinion, though. I love how chatty they are. I think it makes us, as customers, feel good when they make comments on our selections. Even if they say theyre not a fan, I like hearing their opinions.

Best place to go for the hard to find brews, wines, and spirits. If you cant find it here, it will be hard to find anywhere else except maybe the brewery itself. Amazing growler bar with a rotating list of options. If you like to try new drinks, youll love this stop just fire the sheer size. I should also note that the guys who run the growler bar usually know beer really, really well.

These were some of the friendliest sales associates Ive met. 4 or 5 different employees offered to help me, made gift suggestions, and went to find stuff for me. Not at all the typical liquor store experience. I very seldom give 5star reviews. I feel you have to really go and above average, to warrant 5stars. These employees were definitely 5+!

This place have no respect for their customers! They talk down on you, and treat you with disrespect! It was my first time going there, being that Im new to Anchorage Alaska. They ID EVERYONE yep even me and Im 61? Then if you are with someone, and they are next in line, and you are waiting for them. They will tell you, like you are a child, wait outside for your friend? The most hurtful things is seeing how they treat the Native people, I swear that I have step back in time, shameful!

I was seeking answers to my Rum questions and the were very helpfulness, though some are much more knowledgeable than others. All were very helpful. They have a HUGE selection of wines and liquor.... Im sure the largest in the state. Its worth the extra miles and time to go there and get ALL you spirits needs met.... Cheers

Awesome team!I went in last week and was not only greeted enthusiastically by two employees, they both then went out of their way to help!Shoutout to Sherman at the growler station for friendly conversation and knowledgeable beer recommendations, and one of the cashiers who ran from the register to the literally back of the store to grab something I was unable to find myself.I’ve had a couple small hiccups here and there at a couple of the other BJ locations, but you guys have repeatedly been awesome— and it’s hard to beat your huge selection! 😃

Great growler bar (not quite as many as the one at 9200 Old Seward and sometimes this location is more expensive). All in all great location and convenient. They did start asking for my ID in the back of the store too; kind of annoying as you have to show it to check out (wee bit of overkill i think)

Never been to one of these before. I was thoroughly impressed. Huge selection of just about anything you can think of or just go explore. The staff (especially Tony) was super friendly and very willing to ask any questions you might have. Will stop by again on my way through Anchorage.

Loved the growler station with 16 different beers on tap. The wine section is large and complete with gifts and decor. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and fun.
