My sister told me about a recent negative review she ran across about Robin Hays & About Face and I was SHOCKED…. prompting the reason for my review today. (I should have written one years ago!) There is NO way the person that is talking about Robin Hays of About Face! NO WAY! So here is my review…During my consultation with Robin about my lips and liner, she asked me what color I would like. I wasn’t exactly sure, so I brought 2 lipstick colors and mixed them together and told her that’s the color I wanted. Not only did she show me the mixed color that I wanted before she stared, but It turned out even better than I anticipated!! She made sure I was comfortable using numbing cream and explained everything she was doing step-by-step. I was so pleased with my lips that I went back to her for my upper and lower eyelids. And WOW what a difference that made! After both of my procedures, she called each time to make sure I was happy with my outcome and asked if I had any questions. It is awesome to wake up and to just wake up, throw Chapstick and mascara on and walk out the door! All of this was over 10 years ago and to this day I STILL get compliments on the color of my lips – women will stop me in the makeup section at the store asking me what lipstick color I use! I tell them the color “Robin Hays” and give them her contact information! I still get “I can’t believe your eye makeup didn’t come off in the water”, after getting out of the pool! I know well over 15 women, including my sister, who have had the PRIVILEGE of having Robin do their cosmetic tattooing and every last one of them have been more than happy with her work! If I there were any way I could rate Robin more than 5 stars, I definitely would! If you want someone who cares about her customers and takes pride in her work Robin Hays is the one – the ONLY one – to see!

I saw Robin Hays several years ago for permanent lip liner. Im still upset about most of the procedure and outcome. She asked me what color I wanted for my liner, rather than advising me what color I SHOULD do, I picked a color I used at the time--having no idea what that would mean as a permanent color on my lips or how well it would show up.She hastily applied the tattoo and told me to come back for a second visit which I did. At that time I told her I noticed my bottom lip was tattooed lopsided and it made my lips look weird. One side has a double line and the other is below my lip line. She looked at it and said, No, it looks fine, youre just seeing things because your lips are swollen and its difficult to see. She never offered to fix the mistake.So now, I have to wear cover up lipstick to mask her shoddy work. On the weekends when I dont wear so much makeup, I feel self conscious about the uber bright color on my lips -- especially the double line and line that dips beneath my lips. To this day I scrub my lips hoping to lighten the tattoo.Would I do it again? No. Im giving two stars because she did OK on my upper lip. Customer service lacking, consultation non-existent, skilled work a no. As well, there is no way the photos on her website are authentic 100% tattoo makeup.

Robin is a rock star! She has been a dermapigmentation specialist for about 20 years and she is licensed, certified with the SPCP, and is a trainer for newcomers to the craft. She stays up to date on the latest techniques and innovations. I worked alongside Robin Hays in a plastic surgery office and you could always tell when a patient of ours came in with permanent makeup that was not done by Robin, because her technique is the best of them all. (And she does her procedures in a doctors office here and in Dalton- providing a nice atmosphere and medical environment.) She will spend about 30 minutes in consultation with the patient before she ever begins the actual tattooing. Robin assists them in selecting the best color for the type of permanent makeup they want. She gives every patient rules and recommendations to follow for best outcomes.Robin is very kind, patient, and professional but has a fun spirit too, providing great interaction with her patients. She also does areola restoration for breast cancer patients and has served on the board of the Mary Ellen Locher Foundation.You get what you pay for with Robin. People looking for the cheapest thing will miss out and might end up with a permanent uh oh! on their face. Her work is QUALITY and she stands by it. There is no one else I would trust to put ink on my face.
