Look no further!! I can not say enough about the phenomenal experience my wife and I had with Northern Knives and Lori! I wanted to do something special for my wife during our honeymoon trip to Alaska in June/July of 2021. I researched multiple companies in the Anchorage area to see who could accommodate a custom twist on a quality blade. After contacting Lori with Northern Knives, I knew I found the right place. I told Lori how I wanted to do a custom engraving and was looking to do something special.....something that said Alaska! She recommended a pair of Benchmade knives (Hunter and Skinner) but then also said that they could remove the old handles and add Moose Antlers as the new handles. Yes, this was it......a perfect balance of quality blades with the Alaskan accent. She ordered the knives (since they were out of stock like most thing during the pandemic) but Benchmade was on backorder. Over a month went by while waiting on Benchmade to fulfill the order with still no luck. A little over a week before our trip, Lori called and told me (luckily my wife didnt overhear the conversation) that Benchmade was still on back order but she called around Alaska and found the knives at another store (hours away) and she was driving to pick them up for us!The quality of knives and the moose antler upgrades as well as the customer service that Lori provided made this the best experience anyone could ever hope for!...........................................oh I forgot to mention that they (Northern Knives) dont open till 10am but we had to get on the road to make it to Seward for a tour of Exit Glacier so Lori met us an hour early (at 9am) so we wouldnt be late!! So awesome, so happy, so look no further.....this is the right company to choose!

I reached out about the custom benchmade Bugout custom colorfilth collab. They were out of stock and they told me they would reach out if someone backed out. They did exactly what they told me! I’m not being biased because of their proximity to me. This is the best “knife” shop I’ve been to.So much more thank knives. Everything bladed. Axes, kitchen cutlery, tactical, camping, hunting, fishing, swords, shaving, EDC, prepping, tomahawks, and so much more. From bargains to the finest customs. Edged tools of every shape and size.And then there’s their customer service. The owners and crew are amazing. Always helpful, very knowledgeable and attentive to the customer’s wants/needs.

I went to get a knife sharpened on a Saturday. I was met right away by a very courteous clerk, he took my knife and 5 minutes later I was done.3 dollars to sharpen.I enjoyed looking around knives, hatchets, axes, straight razors. A lot of selection. I will return 😎🙂

Great Shop in Alaska! Been coming here for sharpening for about 1 and a half and nobody beats their price! Plus their collection of ZT knives are incredibly wide.

Absolutely fantastic customer service. Was never pressured in to buying and no upselling when they knew I was purchasing. They explained each knife and steel very thoroughly and was very patient. *it took me an hour to decide* by the end we had about 10 knives laid out on the table and he stood by me and my brother and let me hold each one and answered every question I had. I eventually went with their M.A.K in N690 steel with a Dall Sheep handle which I am ecstatic about. Also went with the Gransfors Bruk Hunters axe as well.

Loads of knives and axes they got cheap ones expensive ones you know the usual they sharpen blades real good for cheap the costumer service is really good and they have a couple of nice dogs

Great selection of knives, axes, blades. Good quality items, not the cheap stuff you see elsewhere. We bought a custom made fire striker with moose antler handle. Also picked up an ax with old style blade, forged in Sweden.As good as those items are, the best part of the store is the customer service. Lori (who I think is part owner) was outstanding. Even offering to drop off the fire striker to our hotel when it was completed.Currently renovating the store and it should only get better!

These guys are nothing but professional and make some kick a$$ knives. Anything you can think of Ive pretty much seen here, but their real stars come from the warranties on their workmanship and lifetime sharpening on their knives. Cannot recommend these locals enough.

Wow, they’ve always done a good job there, and this time I had a challenge for them. I had a knife made, and the smith did a good, albeit rushed job. They cleaned it up, and refined it, then put thee best edge on it, and made it scary sharp! Best knife place I think I’ve ever been to!!

Lori, Mike and Hunter are outstanding. Truly. This is the best knife shop I have ever been to. I love this place. Best selection available. Tons of knowledge. Great prices. You won’t find a better knife shop anywhere. And Lori is a surgeon on the belts! She fixed a broken tip for me and you can’t even tell. Looks factory. And she puts a razor edge on any blade you bring. Hunter and Mike produce a sharp edge too, don’t get me wrong. But Lori, she’s a wizard.

Just received my second Chris Reeve knife from Lori and Mike. Both were done in a trade. You will not find more honest people to deal with, which is why I never hesitated to send my expensive knives to them in order to receive CR knives in return. They are at the top of my list for any future trades. I just wish their website inventory was more up to date to make my shopping easier since I live in Florida.

Consistent and friendly service. I come here a lot to sharpen my knives as I work in the culinary industry myself. They do a good job with whatever they can do for most repairs repairs, with reliable knowledge. They do really good here and give back to people whom are actually in the industry which is awesome for the town, I think.

Huge selection and awesomely helpful staff. They helped steer me away from a more expensive knife I came in to buy and toward something that was a better fit for my purposes with a harder steel. Bonus points for being patient and helpful with my 7-year-old, knife-obsessed son who basically wanted to touch everything in stock.

Fantastic customer service. The edges they put on my knives are superb too. The best part was I told them what I was looking for, and they understood it, told me honestly they didnt have it, and told me where to look. Needless to say, I keep coming back for the things they DO have as well.

They have no issue with using stolen credit cards not an honest company. I dont care how many great reviews they have if you have nothing to show for the charge it is fraud.

I live in FL and was in Anchorage for work. I went into this shop to browse, not expecting much. They had a great selection of production and local blades. Hunter took care of me and was very helpful despite my indecisiveness. Wound up buying a local damascus blade (Mark Couch) with moose antler handle to commemorate my trip. Highly recommend.

Absolutely the best online shopping experience I have ever had. I live in Charleston, SC and I felt like Mike and Lori were right around the corner from me. I ordered a knife online on a Friday night. There was a bit of trouble on my part due to wanting the knife faster than the free shipping they offer for all US orders. Imagine a candy store with every type candy you want, but with knives. That is northern knives. Anything from Alaskan handmades to axes made in Germany. The custom service was amazing. I will definitely make it back to northern knives a soon as possible.

I loved it, exactly what I expected, I tested out one of the knives and wow, boy was it sharp it cut my sons fingers off like a sawmill does to his lego set!
