FANTASTIC! This is a MUST-VISIT in Anchorage. Latte was perfectly balanced, smoothie was SO fresh, as was yogurt parfait and AMAZING quiche. Croissants and sandwiches were excellent, but best of all was meeting lovely owners and visiting their very cool shop. Every inch of wall space represents what they are about - LOVE. So glad we visited, well definitely be back. Thank you!!

This place has more character than modern coffee chains & makes amazing coffee. The prices are lower than average here, they take cash & venmo only. I visited on a rainy Sat morning at 7:30am in June & it was delightfully quiet.

Charming atmosphere, nice quiche and delicious espresso shake. However I have been there numerous times, and each time my coffee with almond milk has been scalded and the milk separated. Either they are not familiar with using non-cows fat milks or the milk is a non-barrister variation - which splits when heated. Someone please tell them!

Coffee is good, not acidic, not too bright. Hot cocoa is good, too. The woman behind the counter was a bit grumpy (early morning? not enough caffeine? perhaps, troubles at home? either way, we didnt take it personally). The older gentleman helping her was quite nice. They DONT take credit/debit cards - cash only or Venmo (which was cool to know that thats an option).

The coffee was extremely good, the biscuit was outstanding and the lady and gentlemen working there are the cutest people of all times. They are super nice, super helpful I mean the best coffee place I visited. Inside is cozy, beautiful lots of flowers I mean its a must go!! They are also so modern taking Venmo too!!

For coffee, this place has everything from drip to iced espresso drinks. Whether youre wanting to hang out or get something to go, you cant go wrong with Side Street!

Cutest mom and pop coffee store with a free library. Tastiest coffee drink and their quiche is just the fluffiest, creamiest. The space is filled with art and every table is different. They have a very clear mask policy and it feels nice and clean here. Loved this spot!

I come here to eat lunch on occasion and every time I do it feels like I’m eating a home cooked meal. The food is great and the owners are incredibly nice. Yes it’s cash/Venmo only but whatever you lose with that minor inconvenience you make up for with the great taste and homey atmosphere. Would recommend for locals and visitors alike.P.s. - I never write reviews.

Great experience! Loved this place. Seemed like a mom and pop. The sweetest older couple greeted us and invited us in. We had a dog and my husband forgot his mask so we declined but then they gave us a fresh mask and invited us in, dog and all. The gave our dog treats and water and made us feel very welcome. They also had free books for anyone interested. Truly beautiful and wholesome place / experience! Also just note that it is cash only.

Heads up no credit cards or debit cards. Cash and Venmo only. But man is the house latte milkshake INCREDIBLE! First place I stopped at landing in Alaska, tried a Kalachi for the first time, also delicious! The owners here are sweet people too. Highly recommend it if you are in this part of town :)

The coffee was pretty good, but that is the only enjoyable thing about this place. No parking, very few tables, not very friendly. Everything looks disorganized and I just felt crowded. Would not return.

George and Deb are fixtures of downtowns culture. Great artwork lines the walls, and you will be treated daily to Georges dry-era marker portraits. Every day a new one dawns itself on the board marking the daily drink special. He even has a book for sale filled with collections of portraits drawn over the years.

Great food, very clean, super friendly staff with quick service and good prices. Just had their cream of Mushroom Soup and it was amazing!

We were looking for great coffee killing time waiting for a late day flight. Took the 40 bus to downtown transit Center and walked 2 blocks to this little gem of a coffee shop. It’s the quintessential eclectic warn gem of a place with excellent coffee and incredible scones. Thank you Side Street Espresso! You were the perfect welcome to Anchorage.

This is a great little local coffee shop! Cash only, white-board menus, and a homegrown feel. Definitely feels like a community coffee shop with lots of regulars.On Saturday mornings they have a biscuit special, including homemade biscuits and gravy. I think everyday theres a quiche and soup special as well. At least when I was here they were all vegitarian, and the soup was vegan. Good food, good coffee, and really nice people.

Fantastic coffee, local business, artist! I had the Captain Midnight which is dark roast with two espresso shots!! Flavorful, but not bitter. A great cup of coffee! Also, I very much enjoyed the artwork made by one of the owners. If you believe, as I do, and supporting local businesses that provide a great product, this place is for you. Yes, cash only, but well worth it!

Just what a little, local, coffee house should be. Crammed with books, poetry readings, political cartoons, espresso served in a mug, not a paper cup with sweets treats and a bit of food choices. Cash only. Loved the bear claw, sunrise muffin and nice, dry cappuccino.

There are places in this world that have stories told about, some live up to the hype and some don’t, this place has its own story to tell written on the walls and happy faces of the customers that frequent this establishment. I am happy to have stepped foot through here and created a memory that I will share with others. Thanks George for the calm atmosphere of a local cafe.

Cool Mom & Pop Craft Coffee Shop. I had small lunch and was craving both an afternoon coffee and also a little bit of ice cream. This is where I found a delightful combination of both! I ordered an espresso milk shake with some ghirardelli chocolate...wow...that was definitely the best of both worlds...and it was only $6 even...tax included. If I ever stay in downtown Anchorage again...Ill be back.

Great little hole in the wall. We went first thing in the morning and were the only other people there besides some construction workers. This is a place the locals go. Quaint atmosphere, free books to read. Our bagels were perfectly toasted, and we had nice Chai tea.

Delicious brewed coffee with real cream — sweet, friendly owners who obviously value conservation (spoons for stirring, a lending area for glass to-go mugs to avoid disposable). Love the inherent mission of the shop and the taste.
