Y’all really came on here and gave this establishment a good review? This is probably the worst coffee I’ve ever had. The beans are super bitter. We waited 20 minutes for tea. The staff is friendly, but the drinks are gross. Picture of how much I was able to drink.

Some of the best coffee in anchorage. These pour overs and fresh coffee brews are killer. All of the beans are fresh and roasted in house, with a use by date set for six weeks after the roast date. There are several selections from several regions with several different styles. You can buy the beans, or enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee to go or to drink in the shop.Also the vibe is really nice and clean. There is always music and a chill atmosphere!

Very cool local coffee shop. The ambiance reminds me of a cross between and old time soda jerk shop and a nice saloon. The staff are great, nice, very helpful, and accommodating. In my five days basing out of Anchorage I was here four mornings for fantastic cup of coffee. I look forward to my next trip to ANC.

Best lattes we had in Anchorage during our stay. They have pastries, but no breakfast sandwiches or anything. That shouldnt stop you from visiting them, just be sure you plan accordingly.

The shop itself is easy to access and very attractive inside. The large windows and different styles of seating (bar seating, group tables, couches, small tables) is very enjoyable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the menu is straight forward and fairly priced. I loved the art on the top of my friends vanilla latte, and my mocha was to die for! Its like they used Mexican chocolate, the flavor was very unique and I enjoyed every drop. I will be back!

Amazing local spot! Friendly baristas, solid coffee, strong wifi, and the best breakfast burrito Ive had in a loooong time. Happy to have a place like this to work from while I was in town for a few weeks.

Delicious, strong coffee! The barista was helpful and tasted the cardamom syrup to make me an oat milk latte. There are so many coffee places to choose from as a tourist but knowing it was so good we may go here twice!

We ordered a few things off the menu. One was listed as an earl grey drink. My husband took a sip and realized in had coffee, which he can’t drink. Went up read the menu, drink said nothing about coffee, told the person with the yellow hair at the register and he was very snarky. Husband asked for a London fog instead and the person charged him again...Nothing was as magical as the 4+ stars would lead you to believe. It was all average but the service was just disappointing.

Anchorage is a place for coffee lovers. Black Cup is a place coffee lovers love. The only drawback to this spot is that you might have to wait a few minutes for a seat if you aren’t taking your drink to go. Worth it though, great place to people watch of just dive into a book. Even with all the hustle and close quarters, I’ve always found it easy to relax there. The baristas there are extremely talented...everything is great...and gelato.Update 11/16/20 - Completely Covid friendly and still one of my very favorites. Sarah makes a mean latte...never had a bad one there yet. Lots of holiday specials...if brown sugar and pumpkin spice sound good, make the trip, you won’t be disappointed.

I ordered a London Fog and the individual informed me that if I didnt mind the wait, there was a better tasting product. I mean, they explained it to me but after tasting it I forgot everything they said. I waited, and man was it worth the wait!

This was my first time here. The staff are genuinely nice people who love what they do. The barista that put in my order took the time to check ingredients and make sure that what she was serving me was actually vegan. Much appreciated! They have dairy alternatives like almond milk, coconut milk, and soy milk. The overall atmosphere of Black Cup is warm and inviting. Plenty of seating and space to grab coffee with a few friends or do some online work (WiFi is available). The menu is simple and delicious, with decent prices and various sizes. I would definitely suggest this place to friends and I will be back very soon.

A beautifully put together coffee house! Very industrial and modern look to it. The baristas are friendly and greet you with a smile. Didn’t try the coffee but the Greek yogurt was on point! Free, fast WiFi. Also, they gave me an option of having a metal spoon 🥄 with my yogurt, which is a plus! #fewerplastic

This coffee shop has a very relaxed atmosphere. The place is very clean, people are friendly, and the coffee is outstanding!Edit: I have been here multiple times and still not disappointed. Loved it every time. The bore tide is the default roast they use in the lattes and its got a sweet texture to it. All their roasts are pretty light and that means you need less of the coffee for the same among of caffeine boost. The process of roasting coffee beans very dark destroys a lot of the caffeine. Go to black cup, give it a try. Theyre local, been around since the seventies, and they know what they are doing.

I drive past 4 coffee shops just to come here. Lane makes an amazing cup of coffee, and their latte art makes me feel bad for drinking it because it’s so pretty. The shop itself is bright and the perfect place to stop in to combat SAD.

The coffee here is great. Nice and strong (kaladis is a little weaker). Took off a star because the bathrooms are locked and have codes so it’s annoying and makes it feel ghetto.

Busy, centrally-located Kaladi Brothers location. Their coffee is consistently good and expertly prepared. Unfortunately, Black Cups new look just isnt as warm and appealing to me as it was before the remodel. It seems kind of cold now. 😔 So Im giving this a 4/5 instead of 5/5 because its just not the kind of place where I want to spend much time. This works okay for KB because I pop in, grab a cup and go, leaving tables for others who like the new look. I frequent their other locations more often since the remodel. (Photo added 9/1/18)

Unpretentious, classy, casual, and great coffee. I brought my mom in, who normally gets her coffee from mcdonalds, and when she asked for some over sweetened over fluffed drink she normally gets at a drive through and she wasnt laughed out the door. The person taking our order was friendly, patient, and helpful. Thank you!!! Oh, she loved what she got btw.

Great pour overs at Black Cup! I had a beautifully prepared Kenyan coffee. The service is friendly and efficient and the place is comfy and stylish. Only snag is the layout. The tables in front of the bar are claustrophobic. Grab seats at either end of the store to be comfortable while you sip delicious coffee..

Im not a coffee drinker so I cant speak to that, but I love a good hot chocolate and they are the best Ive found so far. Also, reusable cups/mugs earn you a small discount. Ive found some good books on the shelf by the door, conveniently located where one can browse the free books while waiting to order.

I really enjoy the atmosphere of Black Cup, I personally dont prefer their coffee black. I find it to be a bit to acidic for my taste, I typically get a White Mocha Breve.The baristas are kind and know what they are doing most of the time. About 10% of the time my drink is made incorrectly or not to my liking. But when it is made correctly, its phenomenal!

Such a great place. I dont know Anchorage at all. Didnt expect to find this. Really cool place with a hip, classy vibe. Super friendly women working. One shared her incredible playlist with me. Music was great. Coffee was very good. Cant wait to come back.

The best place for study!

They are the best coffee shop in a town with a serious coffee addiction. If you want a perfect pour over or a delightful doppio, this is the spot. They also have the best single origin roasts to take home with you. If you love coffee, blackcup is heaven. Plus they have a well thought-out and safe set up for these covid times.

Brisk, airy coffee shop with lots of work/sit/chat space, free WiFi, free parking, interesting people to watch and a variety of coffee items and baked goods.I ordered the mocha which has more spice to it than a standard mocha (I liked this). It was also a bit too sweet for my taste.Sat at a table to do some work. Every table has an outlet which is very nice. There are group tables and lots of bar style solo stools.Did not try the pour overs because of my caffeine sensitivity but they advertise that the coffee is best enjoyed black so the flavors must be good. Really would have liked to try the Guatemalan with cherry notes...

My friend took me here for the first time today and this is by far the best coffee place! I think stopping here after climbing at the rock gym will become a routine! Its got a rustic, modern look to it and the way they decorated for Christmas is gorgeous. Great atmosphere for studying too. If youre in the area, do NOT skip out on this place. Stop by and ask for their Soy vanilla latte! You wont regret it ;)

This is my new favorite coffee date and work date place. Its brilliantly located near midtown and the highway and surrounded by other charming shops. The coffee is great, the food lovely and delicious, the staff is well-defined and courteous. There is a very old-world feel without being pretentious. I love this place.

I personally really love the space, its comfortably quiet and the perfect place for studying with a good cup of coffee. There are plenty of spaces and large windows for natural light. A couple large and small tables make it good for groups as well as spreading your work out. I overall think the service and quality is great!

BCs latte ranks with the best that I have experienced although, depending on ones preferences, the foam volume may be considered too much, but it tops the liquid with such luxurious flavors one may not wish to alter not a scintilla.

This is probably the first time Ive reviewed a coffee shop, as I dont drink coffee. But, the husband was clearly happier with the coffee here than anywhere else weve gone, and that makes me happy.

Another overpriced coffee shop for the yuppie, computer internet coffee shop lovers. Its a nice place to be served your coffee in an actual stoneware coffee cup not the paper kind design for travel. It does have a larger capacity for its patrons, which is a bonus and their pastries are par with the rest of the coffee shops. It is one of the better Midtown spots to pick up a cup of java.

Great place, nice ambiance, awesome staff, and really laid back clientele. Alaska is definitely moving up into the hipster world with this place. I really enjoyed the drip coffee. They offer a great selection and the staff is knowledgeable with the notes and flavors of the different brews available. This is a must try place!

Too busy for their own good. Every time Ive come here, seating is at a premium. So theyre doing coffee right but the trade off is being so popular you have nowhere to sit.

I like to sit here and do work on my laptop. It is a wonderful environment for socializing all while still getting some work done. Quite cosy in the back and somewhat cramped at times in the front. Fun selection of drinks and small foods.

Excellent upscale version of our hometown coffee company. We dont need the escapee coffee company from the Pike Place Market to enjoy good coffee in Anchorage! I ought to know, I patronized the very first location of the mermaid-logo mega corporate coffee giant back in the sixties.

We ordered cold brew and hot chocolate. The cold brew tasted like tobacco water. The hot chocolate was fine, albeit bland and tasted like every other hot chocolate. We also got the chocolate croissant, the bear claw, and the blueberry muffin. The bear claw is good. The croissant was not good at all, not enough filling and too dry. The muffin was decent, plenty of fruit and sugar.
